Lets start off with the happy greating and fast seating right out the gate. The service was very fast and food on point! The fish and chips were lovely with tartar sauce and coleslaw. Enjoyed a nice apple cider it was perfectly made and warmed me right up. Chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese for the minion. She had zero complaints she's practically a chicken nugget herself. Nice strawberry lemonade for her as well Prime rib dip for the sis she ate it fast and had no complaints came with a side salad or fries I enjoyed her salad. The only bad thing was the bathroom stall didn't have toilet paper but after I told the server they rectified it right away. Bathrooms were clean no issues after that! We stopped in for breakfast while visiting Forks and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Our waitress was noticeably warm and chatty with the other tables around us, but with our table she was extremely curt. When I ordered, she wrote it down without saying a word, didn't make eye contact, and didn't verbally confirm the order. Later, when I asked for strawberries, she again simply wrote it down without acknowledging me. Our coffees also went without refills while she continued checking in with other guests. The strawberries didn't come... so I thought maybe she didn't hear me... so I kind of just let it go. but then she brought the check and she still charged us for them - confirming she heard. Maybe she was having an off morning, but the difference in how we were treated compared to the surrounding tables was noticeable enough that both my husband and I commented on it during the meal. I hope it's not nefarious/prejudice - I don't want to assume - but we ARE interracial, and visibly queer. The food itself was fine enough, but the service left us feeling unwelcome. Really bad food!! Unfortunately Forks has pretty limited options, and this seemed like the best. We got there right after breakfast ended so had to get lunch food at noon. I ordered the teriyaki chicken sandwich and was not impressed. It had so much mayo on it, when it wasn't supposed to have any... nasty. And the chicken has a bone in it, about half an inch long, that I had to pull out of my mouth. The fries were bland, and the clam chowder was canned and basically inedible. 5/14/26: wonderful diner with friendly staff -- and attentive! When we walked in, the young gal said "Four? I saw you pull up." It's a pretty big restaurant and the food was very good. The only hiccup was that one of the waitresses thought we were drinking coffee (it was hot tea) & before we knew what was happening, she poured coffee into our mugs. Of course, we all laughed about it. :-) Easy mistake. Maybe the mugs should be colored to differentiate beverages. LOL! There was plenty of parking and Forks was a fun town to visit. Stopped for lunch around 1:45pm while visiting Forks for the day. Super cute diner vibes and friendly staff. Food was great and served hot, excellent service. Great fries and crispy, we loved it. We were driving through forks pretty late last night. I think The In place was the only place open so we stopped in. They said they were closing in 30 minutes but thankfully said they would be happy to serve us because we were starving. It's a casual restaurant that looks family owned. The service was really great. We were a pretty big group coming in before closing and they didn't make us feel bad about it one bit. I felt awful though but we were desperate. I had the fried fresh cod and it was delicious! The batter was light, crispy and flavorful. My kids raved about the salmon and the pasta dish as well. If you're in Forks you should give it a shot if you're in the mood for seafood. Ate here with Jaric because I was craving mimosa even though it was past brunch munch time, and they still were willing to make it ! I was so happy. Pretty good, but didn't feel as strong as I hoped :( service was good, too, with enthusiasm from our waitress by asking us about the food and our Forks, Washington trip. It made us feel welcome and was such a nice conclusion to our trip overall. Plenty of parking here, too. Anyway, food was nothing special. I got the seafood trio pasta that did not make me :O, but it filled me up and did not make me sick afterwards! Jaric got the fish and chips, which was also good. Nothing crazy for the food. A bit cramped with the seating arrangements when I made my way to and from the bathroom, but not a bother. Took 30 minutes to take our order and another 30 to bring the food. People that arrived after us were finished and paid their checks before our food arrived. Being next to our hotel was the deciding factor in choosing this spot for dinner. We're not mad about it! The hostess was incredibly pleasant and took our names down on a Wednesday night...we waited outside and after maybe a 5-10 minute wait, we were seated in the glass enclosed front dining area. We both took a risk and ordered steaks. Being from Vegas, we couldn't resist the price points. (Around $25 for a top sirloin and upper $20s for a 12oz ribeye.) Both steaks were tasty, good sear flavor, perhaps a bit over the requested medium rare but still good. They came with a side fries/mashed potatoes and green beans, along with a dinner roll. Terrible experience. While I understand there are limited options in forks and don't want to judge every spot, the food here was not worth the price. It was made with bare minimum effort, just something put together real quick and lacked taste/flavor! The worst part of the experience was the rude host. This slightly elder woman at the restaurant came in to take our order and had way too many things to say about us and everything we wanted to get. She even called out one of us to "eat more and not starve" and then had an issue when we wanted to pack our food to take back. Extremely rude behavior. Won't recommend this spot! read more

I was staying in Forks and wanted a bite to eat one evening after a long day at Rocky Mountain National Park. Everything in this town was either closed or had an hour long wait for a table. There aren't a whole lot of restaurant options in Forks. The In Place was busy for a Sunday, but not didn't have a crazy long line like the other places that I visited. The In Place Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner and has a menu with a little bit of everything on it. I stopped by here because it was close to my hotel. I got their Philly Cheesesteak to-go and ate it in my room before crashing for the night. Even though I had to wait a little while for my food, I appreciated finding a location here in town that keeps their kitchen open for us late night people. read more

There aren't many options for breakfast in Forks, so we gave this place a try. There was a 15-25 min wait to get a table. Then once we were seated, it took a bit before our order was taken, and then a long wait to actually get our food. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. It was ok, but seemed somewhat overcooked. The omelettes were also ok, but nothing spectacular. My husband enjoyed his fajita breakfast skillet. Service was friendly and they kept our waters and coffees filled. There's not much in Forks, so.. you get what you can get. Came during the summer. They have a very small sign at the front near the register about a 4% credit card fee. Definitely didn't notice it until I saw it on the menu. That's steep. The wait for lunch was 45 minutes or something and the restaurant was empty.. meaning they don't have the staff. Early dinner at 6p and no wait, but later when we finished there definitely was. Got the fried catfish ($16+). Standard stuff. I wasn't expecting to be blown away anyway. At the In Place, one can expect a casual and unremarkable atmosphere with a utilitarian approach to decor. The diner comes with a dining area littered with stale droppings of the days past food orders and a clear indication that cleanliness is not a priority, unfortunately after a deeper look at the cleanliness of the floor I had second guess this dining decision. The staff is friendly but not particularly attentive, if they would have been I would have had a side salad rather than an order of fries and a "close to decent" chicken sandwich made to order, rather than the tasteless grilled chicken breast accompanied by unwanted lettuce, tomatoes and mayo tossed between two toasted buns. Dining at the In Place is an unremarkable experience that satisfies basic hunger but does little to excite the palate, it just serves its purpose as a convenient place for a family meal. Food wasn't great and the service was worse. Starting off when i inquired either the server on which dish she would suggest she actually held up her finger to stop me from talking. I let that go as I understand she was writing down my cousins order. After what we ordered came out I must say that the chicken fried steak tasted over cook or the oil possibly needs to be changed, the rice bland and the sauce was anything great. The "alfredo" pasta did not have much taste all you could taste was the buttery noodles. At the end of the meal which we didn't finish I just kindly informed the server that the pasta didn't really have flavor. Was bot expecting anything but I do like to give my thoughts especially when she asked. She came back not long after with our check and went on to inform is that we should stop by the convenience store and pick up some airborne which we were worried that it could mean some kind of illness but she stated she dipped her finger in the sauce and it tasted fine and it could be our taste buds. I was blown away with how horrible she was making that comment and that her service ethics was way below what any establishment should be at. If you can't take the feedback don't ask! This was not a good experience. We stopped by for a road trip break. I overheard our server giving attitude to an older gentleman about his order. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who heard it. Even though I wasn't part of his group I didn't like how he was being talked to. I also got spoken to bluntly. When we wanted to cash out, our server told us there was a delay in printing a particular receipt because there were customers at the front "who couldn't speak English." Excuse me, what? She was so comfortable saying such an inappropriate comment. Listen, nobody was at the front desk when we entered the restaurant. It took at least 10 minutes to seat multiple groups. No explanation or apology was given for the lack of staff availability. It took 35 minutes to deliver our food. Again, no apology or explanation was given for that delay either. All the sudden it becomes a problem for them when a customer's limited English proficiency causes a slight delay and they felt the need to explain this particular reason to us? We did not leave on a good note. Travelers passing through town are keeping this business open and they definitely didn't gain any points with us. Why insult the very people keeping them employed? Food presentation was inconsistent. 2 people ordered the same dish. One was garnished, the other one wasn't. Asparagus was burnt. Fellow road trippers, if you choose to come here, just prepare yourself for unwelcoming micro-aggressive behavior and poor business operations. I don't want to throw Forks, WA under the bus though as this was an isolated experience. Not all businesses in town exuded bad behavior. We visited other places like the grocery store and a coffee shop off Hwy 101 and these places were happy to welcome all visitors. read more

Came here for the obvious twilight lore.. didn't realize there is almost nothing out here thankfully "the in place" saved us. Our server was so sweet and attentive constantly checking on us and making sure we have everything we need and that everything was good. The deluxe burger was good and the fish and chips honestly surprised me so good! Except the coleslaw it was just basically wet cabbage but coleslaw is always a hit or miss. There's definitely and interesting vibe in this place I don't know if it just because I'm in a very quiet town with no internet connection to even get gps or the lodge like atmosphere it fit the vibe of the town that's for sure read more

The angus burger w bacon and onion rings was very very good good, except they served it with the veggies flat on the plate and top bun on top of the veggies, shouldn't the veggies be on the bun if they're not gonna serve it out together? That was weird. Went again in the morning and had French toast and eggs and bacon, also very very good. Their bacon is phenomenal. Coffee wasn't good tho. Way too watered down. The omelette my friend got didn't have any of the veggies or meat cooked into the eggs, just thrown on top of cooked eggs and folded over.
