Stopped by this place while visiting Richmond and felt like I struck gold. A nice clean, modern artsy space. The baristas are some of the most friendly and welcoming people I've ever encountered at a coffee shop. Adding oat milk to your drinks doesn't cost you anything and prices don't break the bank. As my first time coming here, I was expecting a super modern maybe colder vibe, but it's absolutely modern but the farthest thing from cold. Parking: A bit tight, but small parking lot and easily found street parking nearby. Space: Lots of people, but sitting at the large table, they encourage sharing tables and building community. Food: Intrigued by their flavor combo of rosemary and raspberry, around $4.50. Not too greasy and more savory, but found it a bit dry. A generous portion size however, and was great dipped in my coffee. Would suggest providing a knife with the scone so that Coffee: Vanilla oat milk latte, creamy, not bitter and not too heavy around $4.75. Comfort drink. Light, smooth, and delicious. They provide the option of buying coffee beans in bulk while supporting local brands such as Ukrops-- indeed, they have the rainbow cookies! They also sell wine, merchandise, and other local goodies. They have a great selection at reasonable prices and I'm excited to try the Chai and matcha drinks next time! The prices range from $2.50-6 which is on par with pricing for more hand-crafted artisanal drinks. Atmosphere: Intentional, warm, modern. Read an interesting booklet detailing the story behind transforming the space into a community center, with inspiration for color palette from old paint chips from the previous wall plaster. Ya'll, they have succulents GALORE. Not the fake ones, but live ones. The color scheme is very thoughtful, pulling in the polished modern rustic look of wooden bar, tables, with the contrast of simplistic white chairs, stools, and walls. Greenhouse living is definitely in with the succulents speckled throughout. The large windows bring a lovely light into the space. Service: Wifi is great and fast. While barista took my order, I felt such a warmth, and the master coffee brewer and team had my order out shortly and with obvious skill and care, evident by the beautiful latte art and balanced flavors of my drink. Great coffee but they are more of a de-facto public library than a coffee shop, with computers and their users (of all ages not just students) all taking up valuable seats for extended periods of time, with usually not a table to be found, and lots of finished and empty coffee cups. Perhaps a sign that reminds guests that a coffee shop is for drinking coffee, not entrenching yourself for hours under the false guise of having been a customer over an hour ago might be needed. My solution? Give every guest a printed receipt with the current time, as well as the suggested "expiration" time for their visit, especially during peak times and weekends, so that other guests get at least a puncher's chance to sit and relax in a space that is as limited as this one. Or maybe people need to just be more cognizant of other people whenever a coffee shop becomes busy??? Just a thought. read more

I have come here several times now because their lattes are just UNREAL. The Spring Blossom is my favorite right now- pear, lavender, and vanilla. It's heavenly with oat milk! Stopped in for a visit recently with my friend on a busy Saturday afternoon! We weren't able to enjoy the ambience of this modern coffee shop due to all seats being full from the small patio area to indoor seating. For a busy Saturday the wait for our drinks weren't too bad. My friend order an iced vanilla latte and I ordered a banana fosters latte. We both enjoyed our lattes. My latte wasn't too bland but also was extremely sweet it was the perfect balance. This coffee shop seems like a good place to catch up with friends or family, study, read, etc. Mid afternoon seems to be busiest so if you want the full experience I would avoid that time frame. All in all I'd come back again! Only downsides noted was the limited parking spaces available and limited seating both indoor and outdoor. read more

I really like Blanchard's coffee. I've been a couple locations of the Blanchard's Cafe, and the coffee drinks are really good. I found their winter coffee drinks quite creative, and tasty. Service is always friendly. They sell the bagged coffee in the cafés, but honestly, the same product is available in a couple of local grocery stores at a significantly lower price. So my recommendation is to go for the creative drinks, but look for their bagged coffee in the grocery stores. You'll save yourself at least 3 dollars a bag. read more

Parking lot? Check. Enough spaces on the weekend? Negative. Beware the lack of parking in the lot if you come here. Plenty of street parking to make up for this if you come at a busy time. Atmosphere is pretty chill and this is a place where I would definitely want to come and visit if I wanted to get out of the apartment and chill out in a coffee shop (ignoring the little longer of a drive this would be vs something in my neighborhood). It seemed a little loud when I walked in; I don't know how the place is noise-wise if you come at a time that's a little less hopping. You can tell that they took the time to make this place have a homey feel to it the MAKES you want to stay. I only got the matcha and it was okay, not the best I've had and definitely not the worst. It was grainy and had a bit of a unpleasant aftertaste. The shop was amazing though. Barista's seemed nice, the Ambiance was very loud and packed, though many cafe's were closed today (New years day) so it could have just been that. The latte I ordered was, as another reviewer mentioned, "How non coffee enthusiasts would describe coffee-- Dirt water." We also asked if it was possible to get a london fog, which was flavorless.
