Great spot in downtown phoenix. We didn't have a reservation so there would have been a wait (Sunday evening) but there was open seating at the bar. I tried the burrito bowl with chicken and pinto beans. It was really good but half-way through I started noticing how salty the chicken was and had to pass on what remained. I dined w my spouse and two children and ordered two kids meals , I have a photo of both online menu and printed menu I got from server indicating the meal came with a kids drink , the server was adamant that it did not . Another issue was I ordered strawberry Sangia and instead of saying they were out of strawberries he just brought out a blackberry one and said it's the same taste , not the level of service I was expecting. I had a reservation here tonight and I'm so glad I did get a reservation because this place is hoppin'! I was seated early, and served chips and water right away. I was not having the best night and the server, (Alex P), gave me a drink on the house. It was very sweet of her to do. She took amazing care of me. The food was sublime. I got the tiger shrimp fajitas and they were sizzling, spicy, and delicious. I also got flour tortillas as that's my preference, but they do offer corn. The sangria I got was sooo good and the flan is out of this world! The ambiance is trendy, with bulb lighting outside and music playing throughout. I enjoyed the black beans more than the refried beans. Your mileage may vary. Why didn't I give it a 5/5? Service. It was just slow and lacking. Our waitress came with two chip baskets but only one salsa for four adults and three kids. They said they'd bring more but didn't. This kind of stuff carried on with the meal as we asked for more tortillas and sour cream and it didn't come. It's not the end of the world but just kind of didn't make a great impression for me to say this was a 5/5 experience. **UPDATE** 2nd visit in a week. Our large group of 15 were looking for a place to eat. Someone in the party suggested we come back here. I was good with that. I tried blanco tonight for the first time. It did not stand out for me. Service was attentive and friendly. I was not over impressed with the food. First was the food temperature it wasn't hot. Warm, but not hot. The queso dip had good flavor and the chips were tasty. I ordered the enchiladas with poblano shrimp. There were very few shrimp within the enchiladas. Flavor was good but over powered by the sauce. I also ordered two of the mezcal old fashioned cocktails. These were quite good. Lastly if you want your parking validated you must park in the garage to the west. Even then it was $7 with validation. I will probably try Blanco again but it will be at the Biltmore. read more

I liked the short rib best but the other guest liked the chicken. I really think it's a matter of preference. Went in on a Tuesday for the lunch special, two of my co-workers and I unfortunately were helped by a lady named Morgan working the bar. Right from the start I had to ask for a lunch menu (she appeared beyond bothered, it wasn't busy two bartenders 7 people total at the bar). She seemed so bothered and constantly rolled her eyes with anything we asked for or asked about (we didn't ask for much because of it). At the end we did ask if we could separate the bill, which mind you she didn't ask if we were doing that from the start and on top of the the system is so new it took her all of 30 seconds to complete. Yet, she rolled her eyes had the worst attitude and said "yea that's something I can do" mocking my co-workers voice, oddly grunted and then started shaking her head no at us in disapproval. Honestly the food is not that great, the service was awful, the only thing positive was the location and the set-up. My coworkers and I really enjoyed our time and food here, and our wonderful, funny server made it all the more wonderful! They start you off with tortilla chips and salsa. The corn comes on the cob and is a little heavy handed with the cream, but the ceviche was so fresh and delicious - definitely get that! It was well balanced with the citrus flavors and the seafood tasted very fresh. We also shared a shrimp fajitas. The shrimp was well seasoned, plump, and delicious! I ordered a carnitas taco entree, and although each taco entree is supposed to come with two of the same tacos, our waitress let us mix and match! So I ended up with one carnitas and one carne asada taco. Comes with black beans and rice. The tacos had good flavor, although the corn tortillas could've been toasted more. We ordered both desserts (and only desserts) on the menu - the flan and the tiramisu. Neither one of them tasted like your usual flan (not as rich or creamy) or tiramisu (no coffee flavoring in their tiramisu), so these were the most disappointing items of the night and I probably wouldn't order again. Found this place while walking around near the footprint center. Wanted to sit down and have dinner before an event, but the wait was over an hour. Fortunately, there was seating in the bar area. They have full service in the bar area, so it works. My wife asked for a michelada, and the mix they use isn't really great. It hardly had flavor, and it's not the normal clamato hand mixed. I was pleasantly surprised to hear they had 7 leguas tequila reposado. The food was great! I got some chicken pastor tacos. They were really good but only have 2 tacos in the order. Would've been perfect if they had at least 3 tacos. The fajitas are great too! They ask if you want black beans or charro beans, however, they are not charro beans. They are just regular pinto beans.
