The ambiance of this place is great. We came with toddlers and a group of friends. There is no real kids menu, but there are like 3 options to choose from. This is Tex mex at its finest. The chicken fajitas were absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was perfectly drizzled on it. The corn tortillas were scrumptious as well. I'd give it five stars, but our waitress was bleh. After a small misunderstanding I came back to give this place a second try and I'm so glad I did. Everything was amazing this time around from the food, to the service and of course the ambiance. On a Tuesday afternoon this place was pretty busy. We were greeted right away and snagged a table outside on the patio. As a bonus it was happy hour and I wanted to have enough for leftovers so we ordered a good variety of stuff. Everything was super good and served relatively quick. I really enjoyed the queso and love how the it was served with guac and sour cream on the top. A small addition, but I've never seen that done anywhere else. We also ordered the guac, chicken enchiladas and carne asada fajitas. All super flavorful and delicious. Customer service was great and kudos to the GM Nate for amazing communication. Food here is amazing. The restaurant itself is gorgeous inside with amazing vibes. I got two tacos. One asada, the other was slow cooked beef (machaca). Both had amazing flavor and the meat was so tender. Both with handmade corn tortillas. Some of the best tacos I ever had. That came with this delicious butter rice and beans cooked with bacon. The beans lacked a little seasoning but overall AMAZING. My GF got the shrimp fajitas with homemade corn tortillas. Shrimp were huge and cooked perfect. For drinks we got the grapefruit Paloma, which was delicious. I tried the Mezcal old fashioned. I didn't know they made an old fashioned with Mezcal. It was SO GOOD. Might be better than whisky old fashioned. It was very Smokey. If you don't like that taste than you should avoid this drink. Complimentary chips and salsa were good. Salsa was very tasty. Delicious food and drinks. I got the shrimp tacos along with a few cocktails and was not disappointed. The place itself is beautiful and our waitress was lovely. The Mexican chocolate tiramisu was amazing and a must try. The only downside was the hostess. When we arrived on Monday evening at 7:50pm, we were told there would be a 40 minute wait despite there being multiple open reservation slots across google and open table. Had dinner here tonight with family who were visiting. Ambiance: It was a lovely evening to eat outside on the patio. Unfortunately, the high top chairs for the patio seats are very small and uncomfortable. I'm a straight sized person and was uncomfortable almost immediately. It would be harder and more uncomfortable for most others. Food: Complimentary chips and salsa were delicious. The rest of the food was good, not great. Our group ordered tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, and a bowl. For Mexican food, I think there are better and cheaper options around. But everyone seemed to like their food for the most part. I have eaten at their airport location a number of times during my travels so I was excited about reliving the goodness again. I sat at the bar and had great service. Super convenient to find parking in the area and gave us a chance to walk the 1/2 mile after dinner in the pleasant AZ winter weather. Blanco always delivers really solid (albeit non-authentic) Mexican food, and their newest downtown location is no different. A shockingly big space in the heart of downtown, we can't wait to pay a visit when it's safe to re-enter the world! We got takeout this time, and the whole process was smooth as can be and delicious to boot. The guac and queso were our favorite parts of the meal, and we're usually not huge queso guys. The guac was super fresh and flavorful, and paired deliciously with their yummy housemade chips. I also really loved the achiote citrus sauce on my chicken fajitas. WOW! This place came highly recommend and I know why. I made a reservation and we got there early and there was a line out the door. We were able to find a few seats at the bar and it was a great experience. Watching the bartender make multiple, beautiful drinks at a time was impressive. They were so busy but the service was great. The place is adorable and has a great patio as well. The food was so impressive and beautiful! I dove into the guacamole so I didn't have a chance to take the best photo, but they're guac is so fresh and delicious. The only thing is to make sure if you have a dairy allergy to ask them to put the cheese on the side some restaurants do add queso and some don't. We also have the fajitas which were unbelievable with homemade tortillas. My friend had the Elote as well and it looked amazing. The cocktails were out of this world. She had a frozen Paloma and I had a skinny margarita. Margarita had beautiful rose petals in it and a rose flavor. It was delicious. I had to use the restroom to wash my hands when I got there and even that smelled clean of cinnamon. I highly recommend making a reservation, but well worth the wait. Flavor, definitely lacking lemon, salt etc. tortillas not served on top but literally cooked in soup so very limp and soggy. After a few spoonfuls just couldn't continue. Tacos, carnitas. Again no flavor not in the carnitas, rice or charro beans. We left the rice and beans altogether. Civiche was okay, definitely had more flavor but very short on shrimp. Seasoning is a great thing for food. Salt is also your friend. Someone please taste your final product. Life's too short for flavorless food. read more
