We chose Blanco Urban Venue for our wedding and couldn't have been happier with the decision. From the start, the team responded quickly to all our questions and made planning feel straightforward. We were drawn to the place as it allowed for Ceremony, Cocktail, and Reception to all be in one space, with a super smooth flow, and allowed our pet to walk down the ceremony aisle. Chrissy gave us a tour and was SO warm and welcoming taking time to answer our questions and even graciously scheduled a second tour with the parents. She was super honest and open about anything we asked, providing solutions to concerns, and the day worked out exactly as she described. We had a 165 person wedding, and was worried about it feeling cramped but it honestly felt very roomy and comfortable for moving around and dancing. There was enough room for all the chairs, tables, and even had a nice space for vendor table! The included tables and chairs saved us time and money, and we loved how our other vendors raved about the venue too--it made coordinating everything so much easier. The bartenders really impressed us with their skill, and those signature cocktails were delicious even though drinks came at a premium price. However, right after the ceremony, Chrissy immediatley found the bride and groom to give us our signature drinks, and even gave one to the nervous parents. It was such a personal touch that we will remember forever. Being in San Pedro Square, parking was a breeze at only 10 dollars for the whole day, and a easy spot to Uber to. We had a world cup watch party coinciding with our day, but the team proactivley warned us and helped us have alternatives on communicating with guests to make sure everyone made it smoothly. Blanco was a fantastic venue for our wedding, and we're both thrilled with the entire experience. A few of the reasons we'd recommend them to anyone planning an event: - the service (both our sales manager and event coordinator) were knowledgeable, responsive and professional. They made the whole thing much easier on everyone. - the event space is beautiful. Standing on that rooftop at night between the taller buildings in downtown, you almost feel like you're in New York. We also loved the three levels, which let us pace the evening really nicely: cocktails on the mezzanine, ceremony on the rooftop, dinner downstairs, and dancing back up on the roof. - the location was perfect. Plenty of hotels nearby for out of town guests, and lots of late night options on San Pedro street for folks who wanted to keep the party going. - the services they provided were perfect for us, both in terms of what they offer and what they don't. They basically just provide alcohol service and furniture, both of which were great. That means you hire your own caterer, and rent your own linens, tableware, flowers, etc. That was a huge plus for us, because going to outside vendors meant infinitely more options for us to customize exactly what we wanted. Don't get me wrong - the event coordinator absolutely helps coordinate between all those folks and would never leave you high and dry. Using outside vendors got us exactly what we wanted, without having to pay for services we wouldn't end up using. FYI, we had 220 guests and fit just fine. Plenty of room for seated dinner downstairs, and because our ceremony was short guests stood during it, with seats available for older folks. Highly recommended! read more

We were lucky to find Blanco when we were looking for a reception venue for our wedding! We love that it is in such a central location - right in downtown and across from San Pedro Market Square - that gave our guests options for places to hang out before and after our celebration. There are also at least 2 hotels within walking distance where guests from out of town can stay. Blanco is such a great, intimate space that provides a wonderful canvas for any vision. There are a lot of wonderful details in the space and the staff is really responsive and attentive. Shout out to Chrissy and Hailey, our main contacts, who were quick to address any of our questions. We used each level of the venue for a different portion of our celebration - rooftop (now shaded!) for a remixed tea ceremony, mezz for cocktail hour, and the great room for dinner and dancing. For those hosting an event at Blanco in the future, I would suggest encouraging guests to trickle up to the rooftop during cocktail hour (because the mezz can be a little snug). Even though we hosted our celebration (of ~140 guests) during a record heat wave, the staff took good care of us, we had shade and AC, and Blanco made sure that there was water put out at each floor. I also appreciated access to the bridal suite and service elevator as an opportunity to take a moment to ourselves and to freshen up. We discovered Blanco during our search for a modern, minimal venue that could accomodate an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. It was very important to us that the outdoor area had some sort of shade solution since our wedding was in the summer, and Blanco's rooftop was the perfect fit with the elegant roll out shades that could be retracted at night for rooftop festivities! We were also impressed with the care and detail the venue team put into upkeeping the space between events from what we saw the couple times we visited before our wedding day. Coordination and organization for payments and documents up until the event day was an absolute breeze. This wasn't something I was expecting to be so appreciative of until I was deep into the wedding planning process. Blanco uses an online portal where you can make all of your payments, access invoices and receipts, and view upcoming payment due dates, making it very easy to keep track of everything. The Blanco team was also a pleasure to work with! We worked with Chrissy for the initial coordination, Renee for the preparation up until the event and then with both Renee and Hailey the day of. They were all so helpful and welcoming to make sure we had everything set and ready to go for the rehearsal and wedding day. This is a unique wedding venue. Don't be afraid by the prices, there's a damn good reason why they charge that much and it's worth every cent. The flexibility and peace of mind Blanco and their staff like Hailey and Chrissy provide is unheard of in wedding planning. I have heard of other venues demanding certain rules to be followed, particularly to squeeze more money out of you. Blanco worked with us till the very end and made sure that we felt comfortable throughout the wedding. What venue goes out of their way last minute to get a liquor of your choice for the wedding??? My guests LOVED that they did that and it really brought the wedding to life. My wife and I hope that we will have friends that host a wedding at Blanco because we want to experience this venue as GUESTS next time. We had our wedding at Blanco and loved it! The venue is beautiful and the staff are professional, experienced, and the pricing was transparent/clear. We loved having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location (makes it easier to plan and easier for the guests). We had our ceremony on the top level, which has beautiful plants/trees and a clean overall look (made for great photos as well). The staff put up the sun shades during the ceremony so that our guests could be comfortable on the hot day but still get a nice outside feel. The cocktail hour on the second floor mezzanine was wonderful, the bartenders were quite good, and there is a nice view of the surrounding area. The reception area downstairs has a clean look and was spacious enough for our ~105 guests, DJ, bar, and buffet area. Overall, our experience having our wedding at Blanco was awesome. I found the majority of the venue to be charming and well suited for the wedding of my dear friend yesterday. Unfortunately 1 bad apple (the younger bartender) was a real buzz kill. He was short pouring everyone( I know because I have 12 years of bartending experience) and not at all friendly. I ordered a margarita which he made that filled only 2/3 of my glass. When I asked him to finish it he poured soda water in. I thought maybe it was me so I had my wife go up for round 2. My wife said "Hi" to which he replied "I wish I was". If I were to return there and saw the same guy I would leave. The rest of the staff and the food was great. The DJ "DJ Nocturnal" was also great. Overall it was a success. I recommend firing the bartender as I'm pretty sure he needs a life lesson. The topper is that I tipped them $25 right away. read more

We rented it for our company holiday party with approximately 120 people. The event ran smoothly and the attention to detail was appreciated. What an incredible event space and wedding venue! Our guests haven't stopped ranting and raving about this venue! It's gorgeous and very minimalistic plus it photographs so well! We got married here this past weekend and Renee was one of the most magical people we got to work with. She's incredible and responsive. She's detailed and such a joy to work with. This venue is amazing and breathtaking. I had the pleasure of working with Hailey to throw an event for my company and she was great to work with! She's very detail oriented, friendly, and helped us piece together our vision for the event. She also recommended some great vendors such as Heart of Gold DJs (DJ Christie!) who helped make the event run very smoothly. The venue has an outdoor mezzanine, rooftop, a large indoor space, all conveniently located in Downtown San Jose. We recently had our wedding in March at Blanco and had a blast. The venue gives timeless, modern, city vibes. You can dress it up or leave it as is and the architecture will still make for a great space and classy photos. Renee was convenient to connect with, especially during crunch time with last-minute questions and tweaks. She was professional and personable throughout the process, providing variations of options that would fit into our budget with no sense of pressure. We worked a wedding together in August 2022 and she is just a gem on this team. She's not only responsive, quick and efficient--but very kind and sweet. These are all the elements you need during the planning process. Renee was always present and willing, which made my partnership with her so smooth, especially on the big day. You can have an outstanding venue but without a strong player behind the scenes, things can easily crumble and be overlooked, causing stress on all parties. Blanco Urban hired UP when they got Renee. Came here for their first tasting event. The event was a Japanese menu with A Japanese spirit pairing. Emerald was the event manager and she did a great job networking and providing information on the event. She was friendly and checked on all patrons. The cocktails were made by bartenders at five points bar, and let me tell you they were so good! The food was all locally sourced and were dishes that I could tell were carefully crafted. The quality of food and drinks was well worth the price of the event. Me and my boyfriend were celebrating our anniversary and this event was a great way to do it. The venue was clean and the staff was being mindful of social distancing. We had our own table and were able to enjoy the evening from their rooftop terrace. They are doing an event later this month as a beer pairing and I will definitely be buying tickets. This venue is very unique and nothing like it is in the area. We just had our wedding at this location on September 26th. We were their first wedding. The place is beautiful and has a beautiful urban feel. There are 3 floors to the venue. We booked the mezzanine (2nd floor) and rooftop (3rd floor). It is really nice to have separate floors because you can have your dj and bars on one floor to party and have a more mellow area for your guests on another (which is what we did). It allowed my guests a pleasant experience since half of my guests love dancing and drinking and the other half are more mellow non drinkers. The skyline views are to die for. The sales manager Emerald is really sweet and flexible. I recommend you check the place out! You will fall in love. read more
