Stopped in for pistachio latte and unfortunately had a frustrating experience. The woman at the cashier spent an excessive amount of time chatting with a young couple ahead of me; asking a long stream of personal questions about his breakfast and even how eggs were cooked. Gordon Ramsey style or not?!? It felt intrusive and unnecessary, especially since they were clearly just trying to order and move on. Meanwhile, left waiting, completely ignored. It came across as inconsiderate and unprofessional, as if other customers didn't matter at that point. A friendly atmosphere is great, but there's a line between being welcoming and holding up service with overly personal conversation. This crossed it.

We went for a matcha as this is convenient (across the street) to the MGH campus. The spartan, modern look shows a limited menu of drinks and baked goods. But it's not blank. What they do, they do well! The matcha had an initial flavor of cinnamon with a strong vanilla flavor throughout. The service was quick and polite. If you need to sit, there are some padded seating areas without tables, so no hanging out and working. If you know what you want, this is a good place to get a coffee or matcha.

This is a tiny coffee shop near the Mass General Hospital and the Whole Foods in Beacon Hill. Most people come in to grab a drink to go...but there are about 10 seats for those wanting to stay. The barista was really nice and friendly and the staff was very professional as well. The latte was rich and aromatic. Not a bad place to get a coffee.

i ordered the vanilla matcha and it was really good. i liked the matcha flavor and the interior was so cute and aesthetic.

Rudest cashier had an attitude problem with not only customers but with coworkers it seemed. The black woman cashier was just mean and not friendly at all. While we were waiting on our drinks we saw and heard her have an attitude with her co worker and he had to deescalate and tell her everything alright and to stay calm. Be professional, come on. The matcha was good, glad the guy made it and not Ms. Grumpy Pants.

I can totally see why Blank Street has been so hyped up over the past few years. Their iced lemon loaf matcha had just the right amount of sweetness with the almost graham cracker-like spices and tangy lemon curd. The matcha itself was smooth and well-whisked with no clumps. Despite there being a relatively long line, the service was quick! This store was fairly small but had a couple of benches overlooking the barista bar.

This is the first time I'm trying a matcha drink from Blank Street, and I'm very happy to say that it was delicious. The matcha flavor was spot on: slightly bitter, just a hint of sweetness and a great amount of creaminess. We went to this cafe in the late afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. They have a few locations around downtown but this location seems to not be as busy as others. Im actually excited to try more of their drinks next time!

Cozy coffee spot in Beacon Hill. The staff are so cheery and sweet, and the lattes are beautiful. I got a small matcha latte ($4.75) and it was great - just pure unsweetened matcha, my favorite :) Not a ton of seating inside, more grab-and-go esque. There are tons of tasty looking pastries and breakfast items on display too :)

Blank street is popular for a reason, their matcha flavors are unique and absolutely delish! I will say, their matcha is more on the sweet side and I'm not the biggest fan of their original flavor. But we got the daydream and banana bread and they were both great! Although the daydream is their best seller, I honestly prefer the subtlety of the banana bread because the daydream had lots of cinnamon which honestly overpowered the matcha flavor and tasted more like horchata than anything. Their drinks are definitely on the pricey side but always worth it at least for me when I'm craving their blueberry or banana bread matchas which are hard to find anywhere else. At this location, it wasn't too crowded and the service was pretty quick. There's a good amount of seating for the small size of the cafe. When there's not too many people, blank street tends to have good, chic vibes, but I usually like to take my drinks to go. As for the food, I'd recommend the egg white sandwich: it's like a fresher tasting starbucks wrap!

    Strawberry Matcha, no shortcake

The matcha itself is decent, but the drink tastes weirdly watery. The balance of flavors in the strawberry matcha definitely needs more work. The strawberry flavoring tastes sort of artificial, very similar to the strawberry milk from milk cartons. Overall okay drink, with a boost to its refreshing quality on a hot summer day. The wait is on the longer side, but this seems to be due to the place's popularity. Very bright inside, maybe a bit too loud with high traffic to be a good study spot, but good for a quick coffee run or catch up chat with friends.

I love this covering new Matcha places around and I happen to work in Boston and saw that this coffee shop has been popping up everywhere. I decided to try the Matcha drinks and it was so good. They were pretty quick to, but I don't think I went there in a rush hour so it wasn't really super busy. I also downloaded the app so my second visit. I just ordered head to make it easier and that way I know that when I get there, the drinks are already ready Which is pretty convenient since I usually don't go to break and knowing that I can just order ahead on the app makes the difference. I'll definitely come back next time to try more drinks.

    Daydream Latte & Pistachio Latte

This spot has been on my list for awhile and I was a little disappointed in one of the drinks. Daydream Latte - one of their new lattes. It was a solid latte because I love cinnamon and vanilla! Pistachio Latte - I got it less sweet because the barista told me these drinks can be on the sweeter side. The sweetness level was perfect but the pistachio tasted very artificial. I was super excited for this drink because it's one of their signatures so was a bit disappointed.

An updated review now that I have tried a couple more of their drinks. I still LOVE their iced pistachio latte (10/10 recommend if you like pistachio). I really enjoy their matcha. Most of my visits, I usually get the blueberry matcha, sometimes white chocolate matcha, and occasionally a regular iced matcha with honey! The matcha has great flavor & they use ceremonial grade. I tried the cherry cold brew latte but I honestly wasn't the biggest fan. If you like cherry flavored drinks you may like this drink more. Today, I tried one of their new summer drinks: Iced Daydream latte with a single shot + cinnamon. It's like cinnamon toast crunch, in coffee form. I love that they continue to keep their menu interesting every time the season changes. This summer they have yuzu, passion fruit, & watermelon flavors for matcha!

Ordered the pistachio latte, which tasted great for a few sips but was ultimately too sweet--I'd stick to the traditional menu next time.

We came for dinner and I got the turkey and brie sandwich. The brie melted in your mouth and paired perfectly with the crunchy vegetables and turkey in the sandwich. There was also a layer of fruit jam which created a salty sweet combination that was delicious. I also shared a warm custard bread pudding for dessert with a friend (be aware that you have to order this 30 minutes ahead as they bake it fresh!) which was so yummy - it was quite sweet but gooey and a lovely mixture of caramel flavors that paired nicely with the vanilla gelato. Prices are on the higher side but align with the attention that is paid to each plate! They have a super cute bookstore next to the cafe which is fun to browse. The set-up is within three stories of a house and the decor/design inside is very cozy - definitely worth checking out. On the third floor children's section there is a toy train that periodically circles the top of the room which is a fun touch too!

The wonderful waitress, Sabrina, saved this from being a one star review. First the food. You pay $15 on the kids menu for literally a scrambled egg on an unbuttered piece of toast. Nothing else on the plate. The $24 breakfast is two scrambled eggs on white toast with a few cherry tomorrows on top and a side of small meatball-looking turkey sausages. I was shocked, but since I was with my child, I didn't want to say a thing. There is absolutely NOTHING on this menu worth the cost or experience. Also, they do not pour the tea and if you ask for milk (typically served with dark teas) the waiter gives you impatient side-eye. The cafe has everything, EVERYTHING which could really make it a spectacular experience, and I can say that I will never go again or recommend. Get a muffin and coffee/tea at Tatte or Flour Bakery and skip this cafe and go straight to the book store. The bookstore is a joy.
