While tiny and possibly hard to snag a table - the food here was delicious. Everything in the menu looked good but we tried some sandwiches and tarts from the bakery case. Quick service (and friendly when we had questions). They have outdoor seating on a patio and a few tables inside. Outside is fun for people watching as this location is right on the main area into the park and many cute shops in Beacon Hill. It does get sunny though so on a hot day inside is a nice respite. Fresh and quality ingredients everywhere (and leading to their price point). I would definitely visit again for breakfast or lunch or any time in between. Tried the Pistachio Rose Matcha and found it pretty underwhelming. It lacked that distinct matcha flavor I usually look for, while the rose flavor in the foam was very subtle. I was also expecting more pistachio flavor, but most of it seemed to come from the pistachio pieces sprinkled on top rather than the drink itself. The café itself is beautiful, though. The interior has a cozy, homey feel with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the Beacon Hill location is especially nice. It was pretty busy when I visited during the summer, so expect a crowd. The staff also felt a bit distant during my visit--not necessarily unfriendly, but the service wasn't particularly warm or attentive. I had to check out this trendy, aesthetic café while I was visiting Boston. It lives up to the hype. Since it was a pretty humid that day, I ordered the iced black sesame latte along with the pistachio tart. The sesame latte was one of the most unique lattes I've ever had. The pistachio tart had the perfect balance of nuttiness and sweetness without being overpowering, the coffee and pastry were basically a meal on their own and very filling. This Charles St location is on the smaller side, but the sidewalk patio is such has a beautiful vibe with influencers filming content and people reading books with their coffee and pastry. It's directly across from the iconic Beacon Hill Books & Cafe, making it a perfect stop while exploring Beacon Hill. Service is self-serve, but everything was quick and efficient, and we didn't have to wait in any long lines. Overall, 10/10 vibes. I'd absolutely come back just for the latte + vibes. read more

We walked by Tatte so many times on our visit and decided to stop in our last day. I was so glad I did but bummed I didn't try it sooner so I could make multiple trips. I loved loved loved the black sesame latte and muesli. The homemade muesli with yogurt and fresh fruit was delicious and so light. I felt less guilty ordering a morning bun. The hubby had the croque which was served differently in a croissant with a bechamel. He can't say no to a donut if it looks and tastes as delicious as Tatte's, tasting with the brioche dough and strawberry filling. What a tease. We took a Halva chocolate chip cookie to go and ate it at the airport as we waited to depart. So long Boston but we'll be back with Tatte being the first stop. read more

Loved this cute place! Came back here twice during my stay. I was here for work and wanted to explore the area. This place provided a great selection of hot beverages and breakfast items to fuel me up for my walks. It is busy, don't let it intimidate you and keep you from going in. The line moves faced, and I found both days people eat and leave so I was able to sit right away. Service was efficient, and friendly. I did ask for my sandwich to be cut the first time I went when the food runner brought my sandwich... which she quickly said "no". So uh I guess they don't cut sandwiches. lol. One of the largest Tatte's I've seen. It's a clean, brightly lit cafe/restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service is very quick and there's self-serve utensils and water stations. Great for a work/study session, though I'd imagine it gets pretty loud when busy. I'd recommend the orange upside-down cake, raspberry cloud, Kouign-amann, or any of the coolers. The short rib panini is also excellent too. Prices are very fair. One downside to this particular Tatte is that despite its size, it only has one bathroom, so you might be waiting in line for a while. read more

Stopped here for a sweet treat on a snowy day. I've been to other locations but not this one. It's always busy inside which is a good sign. Today I just got a cheesecake cup which was delicious. It's rich and creamy and served in a cute little cup. They also serve breakfast, lunch and drinks. We luckily found seating despite how packed it was. Like a Panera with slightly fancier vibes and a more interesting menu. I got a slice of the tomato & mozzarella flatbread, which also came with some pesto. I appreciated the thickness of the bread. It was tasty, with both the tomato and pesto tasting fresh. I highly recommend getting it warmed up. I was less of a fan of the sparkling matcha lemonade. It was fine and refreshing, but I did yearn for some sweetness and wished I'd added some sugar or simple syrup to it. Like Panera, the food is kind of overpriced. My flatbread was 6-something dollars, and the lemonade was somewhere between 5 and 6 dollars. The staff was friendly. An employee was very nice about me bumping into him (sorry!). The cafe was packed, and that seems to be the case with every Tatte location. read more

We stopped by this bakery after hanging around the area for some quick treats. It's a small place so it was super crowded but service was quick. The pastries were so pretty that I had to order a couple to try. I had the passion fruit krembo, the pineapple passion fruit matcha mousse, crumbs cheesecake in a cup, and a chocolate chip cookie. All of them were just not it...not even the chocolate chip cookie...It was my first time trying a krembo so I'm not sure if I'm just not a krembo person but this dessert, I had to toss. The person who packed my pastries gave me two small single looking boxes and asked if I had everything - so I asked if the krembo, cheesecake and matcha mousse was in there and he said yes. The café was very busy, and at first it was a little tough to find a place to sit -- especially since I wanted to dine in and stay out of the rain. Eventually, someone got up and I found a spot at a large shared table, which actually made the experience feel even cozier. I was hoping we would get the chance to check out a Tatte Bakery & Cafe while visiting Boston since they have many locations through town. Their menu looked amazing, right up my alley. We passed a Tatte location in Beacon Hill while going up to visit the Monument. On the way back, we decided that we need a reward for almost finishing the Freedom Trail, lunch time was coming so what more excuses did we need? The place is big, the decor is nice, stylish, clean, airy. Great place for breakfast, lunch, brunch, or a snack, a coffee, a drink. We got there passed 1 pm and the selection of pastries was so great, they still had many on displays, making our decision so hard. We do love our pastries. Lots of croissants, Kouign-Amann, morning buns, fruit danish-es, cheese boureka, scones, halva cookies. Later on I noticed a tempting look fruit gllette - picture perfect! We got a strawberry turnover which turned to be fantastic and a jelly donut (raspberry jelly), a very classy, upscale version, full of jelly! Everything is fresh, the presentation is beautiful and the taste beats the expectations! For drinks, since it was a hot day, we wanted something cold and refreshing, an iced tea type - fruit flavored with ice, or anything on this note! I asked the girl who was helping us for advice since it was our first time there and she couldn't recommend anything. I don't know if she was new or she has a hard time talking to people, gets frozen when asked a question, but that's why I lowered my rating - not the best customer service. She was doing her job, wanted us done with, but couldn't help. I asked for 2 lemonades thinking they would come in a cup with ice, but they were bottled. Once again, she couldn't advice when I asked her. I did send them back, checked the menu and decided on 1 Preserved Fig Lemon Mint Soda and 1 Sparkling Matcha Lemonade which were just what we needed, fun drinks, refreshing with ice, it was great to try new things. I never had a fig oriented drink, but this one was nice, not too sweet, great unique flavor! We're not huge on Match, but the Matcha Lemonade tasted very nice, definitely more on the lemonade side! I do liked the Fig one more if I have to choose! Prices were decent, wish service was friendlier and helpful! Lots of nice seating options, great vibe, clean restrooms! Water from the house! Very fancy looking inside with a great amount of pastries. Unfortunately the food was just okay. I ordered a fruit box tart, iced matcha latte, and a BLAT. The tart was mediocre for being almost $8, the matcha was incredibly bitter, and the sandwich was alright, apart from the bacon that was chewy as if it had been made a while ago. Accusing customers and telling them they have to move tables that they did not move while doing it rudely, probably not great for business. Maybe the food wasn't that bad but the whole interaction with the manager ruined it for me. Management is a reflection of the business, choose wisely.
