Throughout our 4-day trip in Napa Valley, nothing came close to the experience The Blankiet Estate and our host Julian provided. Feeling welcomed from the moment we drove onto the property, Julian passionately described every detail that made their estate and wine-making process remarkable, while engaging in great conversation with us as we tasted the wine and toured the breathtaking grounds. Owner Claude Blankiet even stopped to talk with us further about the story behind purchasing the estate. To top it off, the wine was unforgettable, and with zero pressure to join any wine clubs or purchase at the end of our experience. Instead Julian simply made sure we knew all the options for purchasing the wines we loved whenever we return home to Connecticut. I have no doubt a tour/tasting at Blankiet Estate will be the highlight of your Napa Valley trip, as it was ours.

I simply love the wines from this estate. Denis Malbec and May-Britt Malbec are the latest winemaker/viticulturalist team to continue the tradition in delivering well balanced meritage in the tradition of fine Bordeaux. A renowned group of people have provided assistance here, beginning with David Abreu, Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer, followed by Michel Rolland and Martha McClellan. And not to mention that the winery's second label - Prince of Hearts - has got to be the best bargain in Napa. About half of the production goes into this second wine, with only the best of the vineyards to the flagship labels described below. The vineyards and winery are tucked up into the hillside, reached after a drive through and around the expansive Napanook vineyard, in the foothills of Mt. Veeder (Mayacamas mountain range) outside Yountville. The estate's flagship, "left-bank" Paradise Hills is less than 900 cases of a blend of two thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Another small production wine, Rive Droite, the "right-bank" (a Pomerol / St. - Emilion look - a - like wine), is composed of primarily Merlot with some Cabernet Franc rounding out the blend. Both of these wines garner HUGE scores from all the critics each year. Both are expensive and require some cellar time, but in my opinion, are among Napa's finest. During our visit, which was admirably hosted by Patrick, Claude stopped in for a few minutes to talk about his new Mythicus (100% cabernet) bottling, and to talk about how he and he wife Katherine developed the property. The grounds, residence and winery and simply stunning, and share some architectural traits with Hall Rutherford (the Austrian brick is from the same source). This is another off-the-beaten path winery that requires a reservation well in advance and is well worth the effort. I saved this comment for last, because production is so small and we want it all. The Prince of Hearts Rose - hands down best rose I have ever tasted.

No worries, keep driving. The winery is at the end. Promise.

On this most recent experience, I was invited to attend with 2 friends who are both wine club members and I have to say, I was watching how others were hosted as we were all seated at tables with our parties fairly close to one another and I have to say, the experiences were similar in style, with a bit more TLC for the wine club member experience, but all in all, if I need another membership, this is one I'd consider as I love Sparkling wine and the service was not pretentious or rushed in any way. I felt very comfortable and the vibes were all positive. The selection of flights were great and a reasonable price point. If I had friends who were visiting and wanted a Napa County experience, this is one I would definitely recommend. They have updated their tasting spaces and have so many different areas that even on a busy day, it doesn't feel crowded or overwhelming.

I'm giving it a 3 stars because we had to awhile to get seated and we had reservations ahead of time. Also, I feel that more food could be served at this winery. The tastings were paid ahead of time, which I didn't like as well since it added gratuity in advance. The wines were very good but I felt that its limited things to do here unless you have a membership with them. The winery was beautiful and very clean, but I felt that it caters more to the wine membership customers rather than regular ones. The seating was nice and serene with a nice view. Our server Camron was very nice and easy going!! He explained the wines well and good attitude!! The wine glasses here are cute as well' They also have a photo both that is cute! I may want to come back to try the tasting pair. -Marshay D.

I highly recommend adding the butter and cheese tasting to your experience, it's some of the best butter you'll ever eat. Our servers both times were really friendly and sat with us most of the time, laughing and joking around with us. I also really love the seating because it feels like you're just sitting at home, with friends, enjoying amazing wines. The prices are pretty high on most of their wines but they are worth it! I'm so thankful our friends introduced us to Handwritten, it's one of our favorite tasting rooms now. Definitely add it to your list if you're going to be visiting Yountville.

We ordered the Bread and Butter Experience which included 4 wines, white truffle potato chips, Cheese Straws Bouchon Bakery baguette, three artisan domestic butters, Salame, and Cheese and of course the wonderful hospitality from Amy. I would definitely come back when in Yountville. Atmosphere: elegant and intimate. Service: excellent. Food & Wine: excellent.

The Chef from Chicago (wish I could remember his name) really killed his sauce and there was a Thai one I like especially a lot too. Maybe each chef doing their own version of the pork belly and not just the sauce would show case their particular style and twist on it. I'd go again though. Keep it up guys!

Why not bring it up at the same time? You're already 40 mins in to this? Then the chicken sandwich comes up. Looks great but the bottom bun is wet like it's been soaking in water. My wife walks it back and they give us a new one. But again, more time. We're 55 mins in at this point. I expect a restaurant in Yountville to be run a bit better than this. Management, you all need to step up on this one and fix this.
