One star because I need to do that in order to leave a review... Was in there less than five minutes and was greeted with a nasty, offputting demeanor from the female bartender. Initially went in wanting to charge my battery and before taking a liberty to plug-in , I tried to get the attention of the female bartender to ask her permission. Totally ignored.I definitely didn't feel welcomed and she went out of her way to let me know that. When I am greeted with a rude wait staff, I'll check the temperature and ask them how they're doing.... well this bartender decided to buck up and ask me what was going on with me and that I was being aggressive. I immediately grabbed my things and left because anyone trying to use triggering language such as "aggressive" already tells me what type of hype she's on. We've gone to this place on events and they are awesome. SantaCon and St. Patrick's are iconic in this part of the town. Blarney Stone gets very, very crowded. Getting a table can be quite a challenge and more if you have to go to the bar and get drinks! Fortunately we have been lucky and had everything fast. More when people are dancinf. I love this part when there are music groups. Some of them have not been great musicians but their attitude made us enjoy! I'm not going to say a damn thing about the food here cause, frankly, I didn't know they served any. I'm just here for a beer, and whiskey when I'm killing time in the area. That usually means hitting up the dives up, and down 1st. Not that this place is a true dive. You have to be able to smoke inside to make it a true dive. Although, there were two old dudes smoking on the patio area up front, which I respect. They're old, and probably have seen some shit, so they're grandfathered in in my book. They have a good mix of irish/local beers, and spirits. They even had a Jameson (Cooper's Croze) that I've never seen, so I had to have it on GP. Its better than regular, caskmate, and black. Just letting my real drinkers know whats really good! There's a small bar to the right, and bar height tables to the left. There's a small stage, or dance floor to the side. The place is clean, cozy, and comfortable. The service has always been good as well. Hey, there's nothing crazy to say about this place. Its a bar to stop in to escape your significant other or family while they mill around the tourist traps on first. I can't walk around Pike Market one more time while my mom, and grandma gaggle over every flower, or organic tea leaf booth. In fact, my parents have visited so often that my dad is joining me for said drinks. Who would have thought Seattle would have brought a distant father, and son together? I really liked this place. Seemed strange it was Not very busy on a Saturday at 12pm this close to the market. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate outside and people watched. I would recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich. It comes with a garlic aioli on it which is very good. So good that I would also recommend getting a side ($.25) of it for your fries as they don't have mayo- lol. My wife really liked her Monty Cristo. (I wouldn't know, I dislike the mix of favors). Walked in and sat down for a few minutes waiting to order food and drinks. We gave up thinking we probably just have to order at the bar. Ordered our drinks and sat back down to see a group of 5 guys walking in to sit beside my party of 3. Before they were seated, the bartender ran over to take their order. Shortly after, the other two tables were visited by a server. Bar clears out and I asked my boyfriend to order my food with the bartender since the tables beside us just had food brought out. Ordered our food and waited almost 20 mins before someone brought my one entree out towards the bar trying to figure out who ordered it. We flagged them down to let them know it was mine. Then I decided to take advantage of their check in offer for free appetizer because, why not? Bartender had no clue there was a check in offer. Showed her manager who also didn't look like he knew what it was. Then she came back and honored it. At the same time we ordered the appetizer, we ordered another Guinness. No Guinness to be found after almost another 20 minutes. Asked three different bartenders for it. Not even sure if we were double charged. Not impressed with service here at all. This place definitely isn't a traditional Irish pub. They have your regular beers from Bud Light to Manny's Pale Ale. When I went here, I decided on Magner's Cider on tap...yes, this is an Irish cider. I was starving when I came here so I had to get food. I was pleasantly surprised with their food here especially since it is so cheap! Everything is pretty much under $10. We got some chips, stuffed mushrooms, and a grilled cheese with pesto & tomatoes. Everything was really good. I believe the chips are made in-house and they literally taste like thin, light potato chips. The stuffed mushrooms were excellent. I like their addition of balsamic and arugula with the stuffed mushrooms. As for the grilled cheese, it was cooked perfectly. I would definitely come back here for the food alone. This bar is not safe for women or the lqbtq community. I was at the Blarney Stone last night for a going away party. An older man came up behind me and grabbed my ass, I immediately jumped around and defended myself. The same gentleman pushed another person in our party and called him a "faggot". He shoved another man in the party as well and also kept screaming "faggot" at people in the bar area. He was a "regular" so people were reluctant to take action. There was no security on duty (on a Saturday night). Eventually a bartender had to come around the bar and kick him out. I had a similar experience at this bar a few weeks ago with a different man. Men here get blackout drunk and feel like they can do whatever they want to women without repercussions. This place would be a lot safer if the owners invested $100 for a security guard at night. read more

We came here based on a promotion and location and I have to say, this place is a Diamond In the Rough. The service was a little weak, as our service was a bit lightheaded, but she was polite and friendly. The drinks were also overpriced, but the entree were priced reasonably, portions generous and flavor fierce. Stepped in for a quick drink with my dad, brother and his girlfriend. It wasn't necessarily super busy at the time but everyone was crowded at the bar and was hard to get someone's attention to get our drinks. I'm super patient and usually not one to complain about it but the bartender kept looking right at us and as any of us would start to say something he'd walk off... felt a little weird but we still waited until we got our drinks. I felt my drink (vodka tonic) was poured well and had no complaints. Pretty simple drink. Everyone else got long island iced teas, their usual, and said they'd never come back here to get those again, especially for the price. Favorite part of this bar was the outside seating area (WE NEEDED IT BECAUSE IT SMELLED SO BAD INSIDE). They allow smoking though people were moaning about it, not the bars fault (for the moaners) but it's not necessarily a crowd I'd wanna hang around. Sometimes the best kept secrets are right under your nose! My team and I chanced upon The Blarney Stone after a quick search on Yelp for some St. Patrick's Day festivities. Located across Pike Place Market on First, the Blarney Stone is exactly what you'd imagine - a local watering hole with a friendly staff and fully stocked bar. Like most pubs on St. Patrick's Day, it was pretty busy by lunchtime and we were lucky to grab a table. Maybe someone called in sick, but I was kind of surprised they didn't have more people on staff that day. Props to the pair that held down the fort - thanks for keeping a smile on your faces even though the pub was swamped! I was most surprised, though, with how great everything tasted! Their menu isn't the most extravagant, but everyone left satisfied and with a full stomach. We tried the: -Kilkenny Beer Cheese Soup - Who would've thought that beer and cheese would make such a great combo?! Honestly, I'd come back solely for this and their grilled bread. I'd recommend going for a cup paired with the Reuben sandwich! -Reuben Sandwich - This is not a small lunch! My coworkers ended up splitting this sandwich with cups of soup, and could barely finish it all. -Bangers and Mash - This dish comes with two of Uli's Famous sausages with a generous helping of mashed potatoes. While Uli's sausage is tasty in general, I'd say that the gravy definitely made this dish. -Corned Beef & Cabbages - My first time trying corned beef and cabbage, but definitely not my last! The corned beef was very tender and well-seasoned, with just the right level of saltiness. I actually loved the cabbage - I thought it had a sweeter taste (and I now understand why it pairs so well with the corned beef, haha. ;)) St. Patrick's Day or not, I'd definitely come back to The Blarney Stone Pub. While the corned beef and cabbage is a bit on the heavier side, I'd recommend a cup of the cheese soup with a salad or sandwich for a tasty weekday lunch. As a non-drinker and perpetual designated driver, I was a little surprised that they didn't offer free refills on soda. Quite surprised. I ordered the black bean burger and fries. Most black bean burgers fall apart when you them. This one, surprisingly less. There was a little too much mayo/sauce. Really cut through. A little too tangy. The fries were great. Well cooked and bountiful. There were a lot of fries. Paying the check became an ordeal. I asks to close out. They ran the card without showing me the receipt. This was when I found out they don't offer refills and there was a beer on my tab. I told them I didn't drink. Rather than fix it, she offered to just give me cash back. Last time I checked, refunding cash on a credit card is illegal. It's also an inaccurate representation of the tax. When I said that this was a business expense and needed to reflect properly, she brought me a corrected receipt and said that the CC charge would stand and she would refund cash. A further back and forth exchange and she left. I saw her speaking with another employee and looking and motioning to me. I instantly felt both horrible and aggravated that this has become an issue. I've waited tables. I've served. I've processed credit cards as a restaurant auditor. This is a non issue. But now I feel bad and that I've become the antagonist in a bartender's stories to tell at home. I was upset by this exchange, but when she came back I felt as though there may have been a little attitude. There was an over explanation of how things were going to work. I'm a way, I felt talked down to. There were many mistakes in this exchange. But I feel as though I were made to believe they were mine. The food is good. KJ Rio and Sound Station Karaoke is good. The alcohol selection is good and they have many local beers. I've never had an issue with the service before. But it's enough to leave a pretty bad feeling. Your mileage may vary. read more

Came here on a Saturday night and it was one of the worst bars I've ever been in. We ordered beer and didn't even stick around to finish it. We were doing an impromptu Irish bar crawl, so this was one of our stops. The crowd was trashy and the bar had a terrible odor. A fight broke out right outside the entrance, and that's when we put down our half full beers and walked out. Don't come here unless you want a live edition of "Jersey Shore, PNW edition." Looking for a local pub to hit on the way from the Pike Market to my hotel 5 blocks away, I popped in this so called "Dive Bar", and "YES IT IS!". If it were not for "Kristen," I would have probably turned tailed and headed for a more "Commercial Style Establishment." Kristen, and the Gentleman working along with her, made me feel at home, and want to stay! Unfortunately, my date and I had just eaten, and I just went there for drinks, so food wasn't an option. The staff said that their food is very good. Next time I will find out, however, the service, as well as the patrons were all very friendly. The Blarney stone has many beers on tap, as well as bottled beers. If you're looking for a "Dress Down," "Economical" place to enjoy a cold beer, and not break your wallet, this is your place! We had an adventure getting here, as we had been several other places trying to find an open pub for dinner on Sunday (the 23rd). Good selection of brews and bartender was friendly, decent and quick, although mostly alone in being the service staff. My husband ordered some sliders and tots for us (sorry man, we are out of tots, fries ok?) which came fairly quickly. Decent food, fairly quick service. Let me start this review by telling that I'm 46. Sadly definitely I don't look anything closer to 21, 31 or even 41. I'm regular on Fridays, a couple of beers and go home. So this lovely Friday I arrived as usual and this guy at the bar asked my for my passport... really??? I carry my passport when I travel, not when I have a couple of drinks. Criteria failed! I had really god time in there every Friday after work but since I'm not the biggest fan of service denial and I won't carry my passport to bars, I'm currently drinking a good pint somewhere else. I love this place. They have a full bar, a great selection of draft beers, and the food is probably the best I've ever had out of a bar. The servers are all polite, friendly, and fast. The location lends itself to a solid crowd and crowded bars are so much more fun than empty ones! There are two pool tables, a shuffleboard table, and a few video games if you get bored. We actually went to the Blarney stone more than once due to great drink selection and a very fun atmosphere. This pub attracts a very diverse crowd which makes for excellent people watching. Nice Irish bar. We went on St. Patty's, and they were definitely slinging drinks and getting the party started early. Nice variety of local and Irish beer on tap. Recognizing it was very busy, we put in a food order that got lost. After waiting over an hour we asked, and it came out within 10 minutes. I would have expected something more than just a standard apology, but oh well. Again, I understand these things happen. I'm glad we got the food though, because the Reuben was amazing! This place had a cool vibe walking in and I was excited to sit down with my girls and drop some money on liquor, but the ONE bartender in the back on a Saturday night with a green trucker hat, literally avoided me. My girls and I drink a lot, and this guy didn't give me the time of day after I asked him if they could change the channel on the tv that no one was watching. I stood around waiting and waiting and he kept chatting with people on the other end of the bar. Don't come here if you dont like waiting around. I honestly kept looking around and thinking, how did this many people get a drink with no one working?
