Eating pizza in Buffalo is always a blasd

If you're trapped in a fiery pizza oven, you're in Blas-hell. Hopefully that won't happen to you at Blas-dell. But if you're going to go, there are worse ways to go than eating Blasdell Pizza. There are also better ways to go. (Like eating Imperial Pizza) (ohhhh I went there) (literally) (like, way more often than I went to Blasdell) (oops ok I'll stop). You'll have a Blasd when you come here. They sometimes do dynamiting in the back yard, so stay out of the Blasd radius. But the pizza here is otherworldly, so step onto the gooey pepperoni rocket ship, and Blasd off. If all the slices in WNY were in a slice deathmatch, this one might be the Blasd one standing. It'd definitely be top 10, sort of like Sepp Blasd-er is in the top 10 worst things to happen to football (real football). So you know Imperial is amazing, right? And it's not far - just minutes from this location and seconds from the other Blasdell location I go to, on Seneca. So the best way to describe Blasdell: Basically exactly like Imperial with rich sauce and carpet bread and just really good on the whole. Yum it down and thank me later, after your pizzacoma. The main difference between this place and Imperial Pizza is service. I don't care about service much, to be honest, but even though Imperial have inconsistent friendly/hostile service at the desk, the Blasdell service at the other location is consistently bad. At this location, though, it's much better, so I try to swing by this one when I can. And it's very close to Apollo - the best Chicken Souvlaki probably in North America. Prices are comparable, and while Pizza is probably a little better and hotter and fresher at Imperial, the slices are tasty and perfect at both places. Like gorgeous sisters that it's impossible to choose between (or brothers, if that's your thing) (what do you mean you have no idea what I'm talking about) (yes that happens a lot to me). Thick and spongy dough with delicious rich tomato sauce and thick mozzarella cheese, with the typical Buffalonian upturned grease pool pepperoni slices on top. Blasdell does have the edge in terms of variety of slices. Imperial usually sticks to cheese and pepperoni whereas Blaisdell often has a display counter with several different types. But overall I would always send someone to Imperial over Blasdell even though Blasdell is one of the best. More chance it'll be fresh and hot. More chance they'll be served with respect. Just like Aretha was when she went there. Hence the song. Now I've had a Blasd sharing this with you, but I need to move on to the next review and Dell you about a different place. But if you do come here for a slice, then Dude... you're getting a Blas... Dell.

2 slice lunch special! Huge board on the wall for the menu. Slices are fresh and come out fast. I ordered at lunchtime, the cheese and pepperoni was coming out of the oven while I was ordering. Manager was working the front counter, and was a machine helping the customers so quickly. People stop they are their lunch break or tons of pick up orders. As soon as one person would love, another would come in. The place is large enough to eat inside and everyone other booth marked off for social distancing. It's nice to be able to sit down for a minute when you are driving around all day. The pizza was so good!

Unfortunately I chose a Papa Harry's from Blasdell Pizza on South Park Avenue in Blasdell as my 1st choice for my birthday dinner because I always loved this pizza! Instead when I received my pizza it was burnt on the crust, the steak was black and the pizza was dried out from being over cooked leaving it with no flavor. I contacted the pizzeria immediately and nicely tried to request a new one. Instead the girl told me I was lying and that both she and her manager personally saw and made the pizza, at that point they were unwilling to remake my pizza and I let them know I would be filing a negative review... the girl in turn told me to go right ahead and hung up the phone on me. This was yesterday evening. Since then I have called the location spoke with a wonderful day manager which has been so far the only respectable person I have spoken with and have requested the owner to call me back which at this point I have still not heard from. I am very disgusted with the lack of customer service and satisfaction from their staff I received and do not appreciate being accused of lying. Beware if you order food from here and you are dissatisfied you clearly may be treated in this same ignorant manner!

Turkey club with deep fried bacon...not good
    Rebecca W.

This use to be our go to place. But now they are deep frying the bacon. I always loved the turkey club but now it like eating shards of glass in my sub. Been like this the last couple times. Gonna find a new place that doesn't DEEP FRY THE BACON.

Chips and salsa were brought to our table. They brought 3 baskets and 3 salsa. They came back and replenished the salsa. On to lunch, I had the Lunch chimichanga $14.00. I chose the shredded chicken fried, it's covered with cheese sauce & I got the Mexican rice, beans and house sales. The house salad is lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. Have been here before and will definitely come back. Our waitress Amanda A was very attentive and was also bi-lingual, she gave us the correct pronunciation of the restaurant and its meaning.

We were chatting with our little yelper and she had told the waitress she wanted chicken. Yes I know, chicken fingers in a Mexican restaurant.. our amazing waitress got those moving asap, and if you have a hangry kid. You know how important that is. We got the south of the border lunch and the steak fajitas. Those plates came out heaping with some of the best food we've had in some time. The chicken was perfect as was the steak. I literally couldn't have been more impressed with the meal. The only negative was the beans. Maybe it was us but we just felt they were too "soupy" but definitely not something that would negate how fantastic this was. Definitely not going to pass this gem again when we're in Hamburg.

Besides a toddler in a car seat watching a children's show on one of the TV's. I guess better to show up to work and bring your kid rather than not showing up. The child was quiet, but we really didn't want to listen to a children's show while we ate dinner. The waitress came over shortly after we sat down, brought us chips and salsa & took our drink order. The chips looked homemade and we're good. The salsa reminded us more of a tomato sauce than a salsa; zero spice or much flavor other than tomato. When it came to ordering food I got the birria ramen and wanted a tamale but they were out; my boyfriend ordered a steak quesadilla. I also ordered the Jamaica hibiscus beverage. My ramen was pretty good; lots of meat, which was wonderful! I feel the broth could have had little more flavor. The Jamaica was tasty. My boyfriend enjoyed his quesadilla, but it came out on a paper liner and the cheese resulted it being pretty stuck to the paper. I can't say that we would visit again. On our visit, I saw on Tuesday nights they do have all you can eat birria ramen & tacos for a fixed price (see pics).

Well we had a certificate to use , and it's because of these endless ads from Facebook. The table chips and salsa were dark almost as if over cooked a bit and the salsa was very very mild. We also got the queso and chips. Same chips but the queso was fantastic. Birra ramen came in a quart container, had fantastic flavor and was loaded with chunks of meat that just melted in the mouth. My birra quesadillas were good, fair amount of meat and cheese, a bit bland but the bowl of dipping birra helped redeem it a bit. The chicken wrap was huge, and was basically the same thing as the quesadilla with got just minus the bowl again a very similar flavor as my dish, just presented different Kids nuggets and fries, a solid handful of nuggets and mountain of fries. The little yelper was not impressed, I tried one and agreed ( but let's be honest, nobody is here for nuggets). The mango smoothie was the star of the show. Ice cold and quite refreshing. Also, the younger guy who was bussing tables and running food was incredibly friendly and helpful. After experiencing Mexico City I can definitely say that we don't plan on returning based on cleanliness (idk how they have a 100 score) and "420" odor. The food was good but not good enough to offset the condition of the place.

It is such a nice change to have a healthier option that is packed with superfoods in a world full of fast food and additives. The regular bowl was a great portion, enough for dinner and even leftovers for lunch the next day. I also love that you can customize their signature bowls or build your own from scratch. The only thing I noticed was that my bowl seemed a little light on the chicken and toppings. It ended up being mostly rice noodles and napa cabbage, which was fine, but I was hoping for a bit more of the other ingredients. The spicy broccoli I added was amazing though, so I wish there had been more of that. The roasted sweet potatoes were exactly what I wanted. They tasted like a Thanksgiving side dish in the best way. The only minor thing was that the ones on top were a bit dried out compared to the ones underneath, so maybe an extra drizzle of the cinnamon glaze once they are in the container would make them perfect. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy, which I always appreciate. The price for my pick two was $16, which is a little steep, but you are paying for fresh, healthier food and the portions are big enough for leftovers. I am already looking forward to going back!

Unfortunately, that really wasn't our experience. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The entire place felt tired and dirty. The carpets looked heavily worn and stained, the booths had food stuck in the crevices, and overall it just didn't feel clean or well maintained. The dishes and drinkware didn't help. The coffee mugs, which were once white, were badly stained and dingy looking. My mother actually rubbed something off hers, and the waitress explained that it "wasn't dirty, just stained." Not exactly the best first impression, especially at $55 per person for brunch. We ordered mimosas after that, hoping things would improve, but even the champagne glasses looked questionable and were filled to noticeably different levels. Then the food arrived, and unfortunately it only got worse. Everything was served "family style," but there was no menu or explanation of what was coming. The meal felt random and poorly executed. Some highlights included: * A single store-bought pastry cut into pieces * Mac and cheese that tasted like boxed Velveeta * Deep-fried breakfast sausages * Ham that resembled warmed-up lunch meat * Three shrimp total for two people * A bowl of stew meat that felt completely out of place * An Eggs Benedict attempt that simply didn't work To make matters worse, some of the silverware and plates appeared dirty as well. By the end, we honestly couldn't wait to leave. The automatic $20 holiday service charge on top of the already expensive brunch really sealed the experience for us. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in quite a while.

Overpriced, Unsanitary, and Unprofessional - A $500 Disaster…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent experience was truly appalling. We visited with a party of 11, including my 88-year-old grandfather. Despite the high price point--our bill was nearly $500--the standards of service and cleanliness were non-existent. The Issues: Accessibility & Cleanliness: There were zero handicap parking spots available. Inside, the restaurant was filthy; there was old food and trash under our booth, and the bathroom was in a state of neglect with toilet paper left on dirty surfaces rather than the holder. The Environment: We were greeted by stained, soiled paper menus and a swarm of fruit flies that stayed with us throughout the entire meal. Poor Service: We waited 50 minutes for basic dinner salads. My grandfather's coffee took 45 minutes to arrive. The waitress appeared visibly annoyed that she had to walk around our booth to serve us. Cheap Substitutes: For the price of a strip steak, you expect quality. Instead, we were served Aldi-brand steak sauce. When I asked for A1, I was handed a filthy, food-smeared bottle that was nearly empty. The "Refill" Incident: Our initial drinks were served half-empty. When we asked for refills, the waitress told us to finish our current glasses because they weren't free and she "didn't want to charge us." In the end, we were charged for them anyway. Overpriced Food: The French Onion soup is served in tiny metal bowls, not crocks. To top it off, we paid $22 for two "slices" of cheesecake to go--one of which was a literal sliver of cake. While the food itself was decent, no meal is worth this level of disrespect and lack of hygiene. I will never recommend this establishment.
