A trip to the valley could never be complete without a stroll down ol' Magnolia Blvd. Lots of Star Wars, Classic Monsters, Marvel, and loads of various other pop culture figures and statues! I don't really buy comics anymore, but I still enjoy going to comic stores. Even moreso when they're also replete with toys, because, you know, I'm a huge nerd and all. They've always got an impressive selection of limited edition figures/busts/toys, especially if you're into horror. Look past the racks of decaying MacFarlane action figures (which, seriously, guys, are not going anywhere at those prices) and have a gander in the display cases, where there are lots of oddities. I was mesmerized by the sheer volume of Creature from the Black Lagoon merchandise they had. I can easily see myself coming back sometime for one of the larger pieces. This trip, I ended up leaving with a piece for the Spooky Town my gf and I are putting together for Halloween. $20 for what was a $60 piece in 2006 is a nice score. 5 star nerd candy!! Love that this place is a few blocks from my house, love it more that I know they have a Freddy Kreuger replica glove complete with sharp blades. I came in here after a friend made me aware that this place existed, we spent a good hour or so looking in every corner of this place. I think a lot of ohhs and ahhs were heard, but not much else. If I were a millionaire and my fella would let me, I would have walked out of there with more than two original star wars glasses from the 70's. I would have bought the glove to wear to bed and screw with his mind. Yup, that is the kind of girl I am. Come to think of it, there would be few occasions I would not wear the glove to. Plenty of comics, lots of older editions too. Be prepared to spend lots of time looking through all the racks, and in every nook and cranny. Quite a few toys that I would love to have adorn the shelves. The coolest part of this shop is the owner, He was so cool. He sat and chatted with me for quite awhile about toys, music, books, the fact that Disney bought Lucas Films. Aaarrrggghhh. That just rubs me the wrong way. I would say, make this a first stop when looking for that hard to please friend. They have quite the selection ranging through different genres, there really is something for everyone! read more

Great shop! Lots of cool stuff and a very friendly staff. They have a mix of newer collectibles and some vintage stuff, going back to the 70s I believe. Some of the stuff is priced on the high side, but none of it is out of line with what eBay charges (and here at least your money is going into a local business). There's always something different and there are things for every price point, from the inexpensive patches up front to the occasional $2,500 collectible. Absolutely worth a visit. read more

It's been at least 3 years since I was last here. Upon entering the shop, the young clerk said "Hello, what's going on? Welcome". I didn't have anything in mind to buy, just checking out all the goodies they had. As I walked toward the back of the shop I saw Larry walk out and it was nice that he had remember me and said hello and it's been a really long time since I've been around. The store hasn't changed much as there is lots of cool eye candy from Vintage star wars figures to the Newer Batman or Doctor Who collectibles, Lot's of Disney and GI Joe stuff, etc. It's not too often I can stop by as I live out in the West Side, but I think I'll try to make an effort to stop by more often. read more

They have a great wide variety of horror memorabilia which is the main reason I visited! Bought a JAWS poster and as soon as I left I just wanted to go back in and buy more. It is hard to walk in here and not get geek overload. Walls filled with dolls, action figures, toys, and even a little bit of comics. I am glad I found this place, because it reminds me so much of the shops of my childhood, most of which are extinct. Walking in, you are instantly hit with nostalgia. Whether it is the vintage Coke fridge or the corner comic store feel, it is a wonderful pleasant feeling, especially in such a dull part of Burbank. I came here on a lunch break from work to look for some Sideshow 1/6 scale action figures, which I started collecting. Surprisingly, they have quite a fair amount for a comic book shop. Best of all, the prices were reasonable. They are not the cheapest in town, but most of the merchandise was either at comparable to market value or the MSRP. The store stocks other high-end goods, such as Hot Toys merchandise. But the main draw is the amount of horror film items they have. It is almost heaven to fans of this genre. If you are a Sci-fi nut, you have to visit this place. There are a lot of action figure of Star Wars and GI Joes. Also, I found some interest James Bond dolls, which are quite a pain to find. If they only had a Sean Connery, then I would have given this place a 5-star status. They also have a bonus card. You get a stamp for every $25 you spend. Get 10 stamps, get $25 off. It was definitely a positive experience, and I hope to visit again in the future. read more

This is a MUST visit for local Pop Culture Fans or visitors looking for that piece of perfect Memorabilia. Friendly staff and clean atmosphere. I literally could have spent all day there going through the goodies and finding something new every time. Not only are the prices more than fair but I was able to find toys and statues I have been hunting for a long time. I even walked out with two new pieces for my Batman collection. This was my first trip to Blast From The Past and my boyfriend's first trip to the new location. Upon our arrival, we were immediately greeted by smiling faces. The owner was so friendly and allowed us to explore his shop with our ice cream cones! (They DO allow food, drinks and photos!) The shop space is very large and since they are still new, the store isn't completely filled yet. Even though they're still getting settled in, they have a great assortment of collectables, comics, trinkets, art and apparel already up for sale. On our way out, we stopped to thank the owner for letting us browse around and ended up chatting with him for a while about old horror movies. This is definitely a place you can come and just nerd out with great people. Parking is pretty easy to find around the location. The atmosphere is fun, and you can easily get lost wondering around for an hour or more. We love talking with the owner, and always have a blast. Larry (the owner) is THE MAN. He is knowledgable about what he sells and has some great stories to boot. I have been coming here periodically for the past four years. I'm a hardcore collectible collector and this place is quite literally an oasis in the desert. It's hard enough to find a decent comic book store let alone a store that focuses almost exclusively on action figures and the like. Blast from the Past is the only storefront I know of (locally) that is always up to date with the newest releases from Sideshow and Hot Toys. If it's sold out at your favorite online retailer, then Blast probably still has it in their store for a VERY competitive price. I have been coming here for a few years and rarely do I leave empty handed. The owner is funny and delightful to make conversations with, and boy does he know his stuff. Whenever I'm looking for an obscure item they don't currently carry he either locates it online for me or takes my phone number to contact me in the future. Today I got a ventriloquist dummy for my husband's birthday and had a pleasant conversation with Larry, the owner. If you're looking for a rare toy he is the man to ask! One of my favorite places in Southern California to find great vintage collectibles, graphic novels, magazines and action figures. I've been lucky to come here since they were at their old location just around the corner south of Magnolia, and love their bigger space that they're in now. I can usually find something odd and interesting (as well as fairly priced) while in the shop. The last time I visited, one of the guys working at the shop noticed I had picked up a Will Eisner graphic novel, and really went above and beyond to recommend and locate some more very fairly priced collections of Eisner's work, including a *great* Warren magazine collecting old Spirit stories, which was wonderful. He also brought out a stack of oddball, slice-of-life comics, including Dan Clowes' Eightball and BKV's Pride of Baghdad, which I also picked up. All in all, I left the store with a sizeable stack of great comics for less than $60. Throughout the last few weeks I've slowly burned through them during this covid-19 quarantine. I just want to say *thank you* to the man who was working at the shop who recognized what I was interested in and suggested some great reading material to me, *without* also being pushy or over-the-top. I always appreciate being able to mutually appreciate great comics with other people. Thanks all at Blast from the Past! We'll be back to see y'all soon. read more

Another store which normally, you would think must only exist online, yet, here they are, with an actual store! pretty cool. Want to show your Kids/nephews what old GI Joe's used to look like? Great comic shop for collectibles. I totally geeked out over all the collectible figures in the shop like Thundercats action figures. Not a huge selection of new comics, but plenty of back issues and a modest selection of graphic novels (which were all 40% off this weekend). There's also a small selection of new and used DVDs. The prices were reasonable, even on the collectible stuff. Staff is really friendly and knowledgeable, I highly recommend checking this shop out! read more

While this place did have a great selection of memorabilia, collectables, and merchandise from titles that just about any non-geek would be familiar with (Star Wars, Family Guy, Marvel Comics, etc), I can't give this place especially high marks because of how greatly it lacks in Doctor Who stuff. No sonic screwdrivers, no model daleks, nothing to help one express their love for time machines with broken chameleon circuits that happen to be bigger on the inside. read more

Sadly I don't think I'll be back. The lady who first helped me was nice and tried to help me find what I was looking for. The guy who was at the register though really needs to work on his customer service and what's appropriate to say to people. I was in the store with my two autistic children and my children therapist. As we checked out the guy kept trying to ask my son questions (my son is non verbal) and I explained he doesn't talk, which turned to a million questions from him and making it seem that my son was being rude to him for not replying . So that turned to me saying he's not talking because he's autistic... the whole conversation was ridiculous, it was non of his business why my 4 year old can't or won't talk. It was just so rude his tone and attitude that he had with me regarding my children's disabilities. read more

Go here in LA if you're looking for vintage action figures, but its pretty overpriced and doesn't seem to change its stock too often so maybe don't buy anything probably not if you're looking for a bargain. Their vintage selection is pretty limited beyond Star Wars and He-Man. Cool posters to flip through but also pricey. I wish they had bins of cheap junkier action figures but nope. But you can play an arcade machine with Pengo on it and the folks who work there are cool. You win thank you. read more
