Blaze tastes good when they do it right. As a vegetarian, I hardly order any toppings as the options are quite limited. It's sad to see half my pizza empty with four pieces of spinach and green bell peppers. I was probably better off getting a $5 cheese pizza elsewhere. They did give me a refund but beware of mobile orders. They won't tell you if they don't have a topping and you can't see what they do until you go home. read more

Parking: Easy parking in the open lot of the plaza. Food: Lots of various toppings to choose from! Love that you can mix sauces as well. I usually get the same thing every time and it never disappoints. Ambiance/Service: Depending on the time of day, it can get super busy and slow moving inside. Yesterday I was in line for 15-20 min in the evening (around 8pm). But they bake the pizzas pretty quickly. Sometimes the male cashiers don't seem to know what they're doing though, I think most of the male workers there are high schoolers or just new employees in training? In every Blaze I have ever been to, the service is always so slow! Line is always long and slow because the service is so slow! Pizza is whatever too. Nothing superior compared to other place. It makes me so thirsty everytime after I eat Blaze. In addition, they are always so stingy with the toppings! I've had it. Came in at 10:30, they spoke Spanish and asked each other should we even take their order. They then proceeded to tell us if we're ready to order and then they later told us "oh sorry we just close the register." They also keep talking very negative about us while waiting for our friends order who ordered their food in 3 minutes and there are 4 more people who didn't get to order because of them. They are also talking in Spanish about how they can't get fired for closing the register too early. These two ladies shown in the picture are very rude and disrespectful. Decided to stop by here last Sunday because I was craving pizza and have been wanting to try this place or pieology. My friend and I thought it would be better to order online and then pick it up, since it would be easier to customize it and won't be holding up the line. We arrived around 1:30 pm and it was pretty full inside. Luckily, our pizza was ready, so we just grabbed it and ate there since a seat opened up. My friend and I shared one pizza because we thought it would be enough for both of us, which it was. Our pizza had the classic dough with garlic pesto sauce, shredded mozzarella, italian sausage, crumbled meatballs, grilled chicken, fresh basil, pineapple (yes, I believe there is nothing wrong with that), roasted red peppers, green bell peppers, and a drizzle of buffalo sauce (or so I thought). This was my first time trying it and it wasn't bad. I do have to comment that their distribution of their toppings were done poorly in my eyes. Some toppings were not on some slices and it just seemed like they put it on randomly rather than evenly. We didn't even see or taste the buffalo sauce. The slices were different sizes and I also thought that they could have added a bit more sauce to it. read more

I'm not sure if it's this specific location of Blaze - or just Blaze in general - but I find that the amount of ingredients and quality of pizza just can't compare to Pieology's. I'd had several misses with Blaze, but their Pasadena location is not too bad; however, the pizza from this Alhambra location was too much of a miss for me. If you haven't had a chance to try Blaze, Blaze is basically a pizza bar where you can order customized pizzas or build your own concoction from their variety of ingredients. This specific location is on Main Street - in the relatively new plaza filled with other restaurants. You can definitely expect it to be busy during lunch hour. I can understand when workers are not having a great day, but the service was pretty underwhelming when I came in with my sister. The workers seemed to half-heartedly fill the pizza requests with sighs of boredom. When asked what toppings we wanted, they would only fulfil one out of the 2/3 choices given making us have to repeat ourselves multiple times. When the girl in front of us was skipped, they made no apology to rectify the mistake - splitting her apart from her group. And toppings only covered half of the pizza instead of covering the entire pie. The variety of toppings at this location seem to be more sparse than the other Blaze locations that I have been to. Not sure if that's the same for all Blaze locations, but they did not have sun-dried tomatoes or cilantro that day. Upon eating the pizza, I found that half of it was soaked in oil. There were pools of oil in the pizza, and most of that oil had bled to the crust where I ended up eating soggy pizza. Taste was alright, but I was pretty disappointed by the amount of oil. tl;dr - Service was lacking and the pizza quality as well as quantity of ingredients just didn't cut it for me. Don't think I'll be visiting this location of Blaze anytime soon. read more

I haven't been to Blaze since the onset of the pandemic. I was surprised that the "build your own" pizza is now $11.95. I chose several ingredients to go with sausage and bacon. The best are the mushrooms and onions. The artichoke hearts were kind of tough. However the pizza tasted very good. While waiting I saw them making a larger than normal pizza. She told me it's a special order that you need to ask. It's higher priced but not sure how much but I think she said $21. read more

Who is that employee who hadn't clock in and not in uniform, no name tag told us that I cannot get a full refund? So i went to dine in with my family on sunday night (7/31). While enjoying my pizza, my aunt almost choked on a piece of glass-looking foreign object hidden in her slice. we quickly brought it to a staff and requested for a manager. A staff came out from the kitchen, and asked us to show him the glass. He told us to wait then he took that piece of glass and went back to the kitchen. after a 5-10 minutes wait, that staff stated that he couldn't reach out the the manager and instructed us to return tomorrow. I explained that i wouldn't be able to return tomorrow. I asked who was in charge and asked for their company protocol in handling situation like this. he told us that he was in charge and instructed us to wait again as he was walking back to the kitchen. after another 5-10 minutes wait, he asked us to show the pizza where the foreign object was found. Out of nowhere, a man who was wearing an InNOut shirt came to look at the pizza with us. without any explanation, the staff asked for my CC#. I then asked why. the staff said that he will refund me. i asked if he is going to refund the whole bill or just one pizza. He said one pizza. I explained that i could not accept refund on one pizza, as my whole dinner was ruined. AT THIS MOMENT, the man who was in InNOut t-shirt jumped in the conversation. The man said they can only refund for one pizza because I only found the foreign object in one pizza. I told the man that it was unacceptable. the man said "Nah bro, that is all we can do. I told the man who i thought was a manager, please don't call me bro. He then stayed silent. At this point, i decided to ask for my receipt. the staff who was in charge asked my my CC last 4 digits. While I was disclosing my card#, the man who was in InnOut t-shirt was shouting from behind "Bro, get this last 4 digits card3# and reprint receipt". I asked the staff who was in charge, he didn't respond. I then asked again if that the man was manager. The staff who was in charge said "no". I then asked "so who is he?" The staff responded" he is just a coworker who was nearby and had not clocked in". So i was talking to a person who was not in Blaze uniform, not a manager, and not clocked in. The staff said "Yes". during the conversation, the man who was in InNOut t-shirt was mocking me the entire time. I asked for the name of the man who was in InNOut t-shirt, a staff refused to disclose as he was busy. The staff who stated was in charge also refused to disclose that person's name as he was not clocked in. At this point, I do not think that my situation was handled professionally and seriously by qualified person. And my whole family was so frightened because that man kept staring at us and clamoring the entire time. The staff eventually told us to leave a phone# and that the store manage will call me tomorrow from anytime 10:30am-11pm. All you can build pizza for one fixed price! What more can you ask for! This is not your typical fast food pizza. The ingredients are much more fresh and varied. When I get hungry I like to pack on a lot of ingredients and make sure every crevice of the pizza dough is slathered on with something. Also as a first timer st Blaze Pizza I went topping happy and ordered almost everything on the menu. Literally. Especially the meats. Oh and to top it off a nice drizzle of pesto sauce as a finishing touch. Customer service was good. The staff just puts the ingredients as you ask and slide on over to every station to prepare the pizza. This location is next to Habit Burger and in a shared plaza with stores like Sprouts and Burlington. Great food! The teenage ProActive/Clearasil crowd dishing out pies every 2 minutes may satisfy following a night of binge drinking, but I'm a sucker for old school pies. My love of culture and family extends to handcrafted and hand-tossed pizzas. Visit a local pizzeria, Pasadena has plenty and drive past the pizza chain monoliths that throw around their influential purchasing and marketing power. My pizza was delivered hot in 2 minutes with toppings I selected, it had all the typical requirements for pizza but lacked 2 ingredients that were not on the menu, authenticity and tradition. read more

Pizza is good but if you have a gluten allergy, beware. Your pizza is handled by at least 3 people before you get it and while one will do their best, the others may not. Plus the black circle they use may have flour on it to begin with because of how its stored or handled. Gluten free Tip: don't get seasonings that are sprinkled (sea salt, oregano and pepper) if you want to avoid gluten because the same container is touched by those handling flour. Add your own at home. Also watch your pizza making like a hawk and ask each handler to change their gloves. All pizzas go into the same oven so you can't get 100% gluten free. There may be cross contamination. And I saw my pizza placed on the same cooling rack as the regular ones. My last handler did not change gloves. At most this is a gluten reduced experience. read more

I have been coming to this Blaze since opening day and this year it has gone downhill. Every single time I go, they burn my pizza! Every single time. Today I was picking up dinner elsewhere but my daughter really wanted her Blaze pizza. We stopped by to get one pizza just for her. There were 3 total people working and about 15 people in line. There were so many pizzas inside the oven that pizzas were just sitting around outside waiting to get baked. Maybe the long wait time was due to pizzas being overbaked! Last time Blaze. I like Blaze Pizza a lot in general but this store was the least pleasant. The staff were not very competent when it came to their Keto option on the Blaze Pizza app. I had to leave the line to look up what goes into the Keto option on the app for them to make it for me. I found that very inconvenient and inconsistent. Why isn't there a Signature option also available in store? Another irk was that they responded to guests, including me, that they are out of this or that (meat options, cheese options, sauces) some pretty common items for pizza. That's beyond wild to me. Last but not least, for how family friendly this place is, including that time I was in the store, there were lots of kids, the staff (one particular) was just using profanity and awful lot. I get if this was behind closed doors, in the back room etc., but at the front where you're making the pizza and ringing folks up? I have pretty bad hearing but if I'm able to hear it waiting for my pizza, I'm sure the families up front can certainly hear it. I'd come again but order on the app for pickup. That's in front of the customers and can't imagine they are any better behind closed doors. Avoid if you have allergies or cross contamination is a concern to you. Love customizing my pizzas at Blaze Pizza! There are a variety of signature pizzas for you to choose from, but the popular choice is the build-your-own pizza. If you like nice thick dough, I'd definitely recommend the High Rise pizza dough! It cost $2.50 extra, but it's so worth it. I prefer to order in-person rather than online, and it's a fairly smooth and easy process in person! Everyone is very helpful, not intimidating at all if you're a first-timer. It's often described as the "Subway" style of ordering pizza because you simply tell them your dough preference, sauce, and toppings! At the beginning of the line, you tell them your name, type of pizza (a signature or a build-your-own), type of pizza dough, and continue with all the toppings from there. There are different types of pizza dough for you to choose from, including gluten-free, keto, and cauliflower. Special doughs do have an extra charge. There are many delicious sauces to choose from, such as marinara, white sauce, pesto. There are so many varieties of cheese, such as mozzarella, ovalini mozzarella, ricotta, and more (I'm a cheese lover so I usually shamelessly ask for a bit of all of the cheeses...yes, you can do that too!...) There is also plenty of protein and vegetable topping choices, as well! Also some extra seasonings such as salt, pepper, oregano for you. They also have salad, side, and drink options for you at an additional cost. When the pizza is done baking, they'll call your name. I like to ask for extra pesto and some arugula on top of my pizza after it's done baking. The pizza is always so so good, especially because you customize it just the way you like! And it isn't overly oily at all. Currently, each pizza comes in a box for you already. They do allow dine-in from what I saw this past Friday night. Back then, if you decided to dine-in, the pizza will be on a pan for you to enjoy at the tables, and there are cute half-sized pizza boxes on the side for you to pack your leftovers. Those half-sized boxes are still there in case you needed it, or wanted to split the pizza with a friend! There is plenty of free parking in the large parking lot that Blaze Pizza is located in. Do not go here. Worst customer service ever. We had our Pi Day coupons in writing and thought we would take our girls to enjoy Pi Day. Instead we were told they would not honor the coupon even though we had it in writing and read it out loud to them. The people who work there made stuff up saying it was $3.14 off and not $3.14 pizza which is a lie. Then they told us it's cause their system didn't accept it. They were hesitant to help. Hate to do it, but this last visit warrants a new rating unfortunately. -When they dropped my pizza on the floor, I said 'OK', mistakes happen. -When my pizza came with exactly two little dashes of cheese, I said, 'OK', I understand. -When they took 25 minutes to deliver a 15 minute pick up order, I looked the other way. -When they burned my pizza so bad that they had to re-do it, I said, well, they were busy. -When they missed giving me my reward points about 4 times in a row, I said, well, as long as they honor them when I point it out, it's OK. But now they took almost my entire lunch hour because they sent me home with the wrong pizza, so I had to trek on over there again to have them make me a whole new one (I wonder whose pizza I got - and I feel sad that they didn't get theirs). So instead of having 30 minutes to enjoy my delicious pizza, I had about 8 minutes to eat. They did give me a free lemonade and a voucher, but that doesn't magically give me more time to eat or magically extend my lunch hour. And honestly, they were dragging their feet to even make it right. I had to verbally say "Hey, this is eating into my entire lunch hour" until they even apologized or tried to make amends. When this place first opened it was totally different than now (2015 vs. 2019). Back then the staff was friendlier, the place was tidier, and they were super quick and just better at making the pizza itself.
