    Large pizza

What's up: Was scrolling through UberEATS to figure out what to grab for dinner and saw that Jay's Pizza had a bogo deal on their pizza. Figured it was a good reason to try them out. Parking: Street parking on the busy Garfield Ave. They have a green curbed portion right in front of their store for pick up but can be hit or miss. Environment: I placed my order online and had a short wait when I arrived at the store. The pizzas came out hot! Plates, cheese, and peppers are provided on request. Staff members were friendly. I gave them my name, grabbed the pizzas, and was off. Fast and simple! What was ordered: - Large Pizza with Sausage (yum) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Not only was the pizza good, the bogo deal made it even more awesome. Plenty of pizza for dinner and more. Depending on how busy the area is, you might need to walk a bit for parking. Credit cards are accepted.

If you're living in or just passing through the northern side of Montebello to visit the Top Golf then Jay's HAS TO be the spot you hit for pizza! I'm a long time patron whether they know it or not. I live in the area and have returned to, and recommended Jay's countless times. My favorite thing about their pizza is quite honestly the dough they use for the crust. It's soft, tastes like fresh baked bread and is irresistibly dippable in whatever sauce you get. Oh, and there's of course the toppings that go on the crust! The cheese? Sharp and stretchy. It's firm and melty. The toppings are always good, I've had just about everything they offer and have never had anything bad. The wings they offer are on the bigger side and have always been perfectly coated and cooked. I've never had dry or skimpy wings from Jay's. Their service is impeccable and they always have a good attitude. Their dining area is warm and spacious. They have TV's. Parking is street parking and there's usually plenty of space to park in the front. I will continue to eat here and recommend it to friends and family.

Love to support a local small business. Pizza was hot and super fresh out of the oven. Ingredients taste simple and high quality. The wings were delicious, generously coated in sauce.

Sausage and mushroom. Skimpy on the toppings and it was all in the center. The part near the crust didn't have anything on it.

Pizza was decent but was skimpy on the toppings (sausage and mushroom) and had major flopage. And why were most of the toppings in the middle of the pizza. The third near the crust didn't have any toppings.. Not sure I'd order again

    Lemon Pepper well done...soooo good!

Not just their pizza, which is good...But, the wings are awesome!!! Especially on Sunday and Wednesday deals...

I ordered Jay's on DoorDash out of pure laziness being that I am a five minute drive away. I ordered a combo pizza. Solid, utility pizza. Right amount of dough thickness. Cheese is enough, though I wouldn't have minded a little more. Toppings were solid quality. Pizza sauce was the right amount and had a nice flavor. Pizza was prepared fast and the delivery came on time and the pizza was still warm. I'd recommend the pizza at Jay's.

5 1/2 piece mild hot wings; circled is just a nub nit the whole wing.

For the longest time since Jay's opened up, I'd pass by and wonder if it was any good? This location had been 2 other pizza companies before from what I could remember. Then I saw an Instagram post from a friend's relative with pictures of food from Jay's, and quite often so I got to ask someone how it was. Then I tried it and was pleased. But my most recent order was a little unsatisfactory. I ordered a pizza with 6 piece hot wings mild. I prefer thin crust and forgot to request that but the wings fell short; literally one piece was just the nub of the drummette. And the skin usually is a little more crispy, this time it was more fatty, not sure if it was because this was 45 mins before closing? Whoever put that order together should've paid closer attention and not put that partial piece in the order.

The Supreme (Large 16") - $23.09 Price on Nov. 2024 via Postmates

My family has bought from Jay's Pizza quite a few times now, and their pizzas do not disappoint. I last placed an order for Saturday, 11/16/2024 in the afternoon. The Supreme (Large 16") - $23.09 Price on Nov. 2024 via Postmates Delivery The Supreme pizza usually contains the following: Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Sausage, Onion, Olive, Bell Pepper, Bacon Bits, and Mushrooms. I opted for no olives since I'm not a fan. The pizza came piping hot and although it was delivered to our house, I liked how the store still included some extra parmesan and red pepper packets on the side. I ended up bringing the pizza over for an early Thanksgiving celebration. The kids and family enjoyed the pizza, which was tasty and not skimpy on the toppings. Please note that prices are lower via their online website: https://jayspizzampk.com/ 16" - 18.99 18" - 21.99 Tip: Jumbo Specialty Pizza (WED & SUN) -$17.99, you save a dollar! Overall, I'll be back and try out some of their other toppings!

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and I had an excellent experience. The pizza looked incredibly delicious, with perfectly melted, cheesy goodness. The bread was soft and spongy, not burnt at all. I will come back again for another pizza! Portion for the jumbo was good, though I do think a lot of pizza places with jumbo are reducing size cause it kinda looked like large but it's fine. Was delicious!

The girl at the counter had a bad attitude I noticed when I picked up my pizza regardless I gave a tip maybe she was having a bad day she was a little rude and impatient with me my hearing is a bit bad it's my disability but my review was for the burnt pizza hopefully when I reach out to them, they will do the right thing and remake it

What a fantastic find! This spot is just a stone's throw from my church in Monterey Park, so we decided to stop by after service. We ended up ordering two jumbo pizzas--normally priced at $21.99 each, but they had a special at $17.99, making it such a great deal that we couldn't resist getting two! From the first bite, it was clear they take pride in their food. The house-made sauce and dough, along with freshly cut vegetables, set them apart from the many so-called pizza places that rely on canned ingredients. That attention to quality made all the difference in flavor! The guy working the front--who I suspect might be the owner--seemed genuinely proud of the food he was serving. The place was spotless, service was excellent, and there was a steady stream of customers the whole time we were there. Everything on the menu appears to be made in-house, which is a rare and much-appreciated touch. What We Ordered: * Jumbo Supreme Pizza ($21.99 regular, $17.99 special) - Loaded with fresh veggies, not canned, and a house-made sauce that's leagues above the typical jarred or canned stuff. Totally worth the price! * Jumbo Monterey Park Pizza ($21.99 regular, $17.99 special) - Topped with pepperoni, real bacon bits (not those fake bacon sprinkles), fresh mushrooms, and roasted garlic bits that cook into the pizza for an amazing depth of flavor. Loved this one! * Jalapeño Poppers ($4.99) - Such a fair price, especially considering they make them fresh instead of using frozen, pre-packaged ones. * Potato Wedges ($4.99) - These were phenomenal! Perfectly crispy, with a flavor reminiscent of how fried chicken should taste--super crunchy and delicious. It's obvious that these guys are about making food, not just assembling it. No shortcuts, no reliance on pre-made, mass-produced ingredients--just honest, high-quality cooking. That's so refreshing in today's food scene! I'll definitely be back. Thank you for serving real food! So crazy that I didn't get pics of the pizzas or the side dishes, jalapeño poppers and the potato wedges...I was too busy eating!

    Dinning area coming soon!

You order at the counter and sit outside. Limited counter seating inside. The best part is they offer slices, so you can try many of their NY style thin crusts. Check the case for what's available as a slice. Tip: They also have square pies a la Detroit style. Tip: The pizza transports well and is great the next day. They have a decent cookie as well. To be honest,…read morethis is just an average pizza for me - it sorta reminds me of something you would find at a fair. There's only one size available so that's a problem if it's just you. As you can see, the pizza is huge! Yes, you can buy slices but it makes more financial sense to buy a whole pizza. Next, this is not a "cheesy" pizza. So, if you like all that gooey cheese on your pizza, you're going to be disappointed here. The cheese is so minimal you may ask yourself if there's in fact any cheese on the pizza. The cheesy bread, however, will satisfy your desire for gooey cheese. Highly recommend you pick up a side of the bread. It reheats up nicely too. As pictured, there's inside and outside dining areas. I went when it just opened so there were only a few people dining. Parking here will not be easy. I was told that if you pass the residences, there is ample parking on a vacant lot. This is not the safest neighborhood so if you're a female and you're by yourself, you may not want to park that far and make that walk (especially at night). There is a Dollar Tree across the street with a lot, however, that establishment also tends to draw sketchy characters. So, if easy parking is one of you're requirements, you may want to pass on this place. All in all, this place was more hype and it left me craving that satisfying cheesiness that should be on a pizza. I definitely won't have this place on rotation when I get that pizza craving. No hate, I just love my pizza cheesy. ‍

Mamma's is more tangy, which my partner prefers. Anyway......saucy tangent aside...). We also got a mushroom/spinach pizza which was delicious, and an appetizer of toasted cheese ravioli. They gave us some free garlic knots to start. Delish. You order at the counter and they give you a number. The tables were moderately clean. The (very nice) staff member who came to our table when we realized there were no meatballs asked us to dig under the noodles to see if the meatballs were...hiding? We earnestly asked him, "Do you see any meatballs?" because, I dunno, maybe they were really tiny meatballs? We collectively concluded that there were no meatballs, so some delicious meatballs was brought to our table posthaste. Solid service. We were greeted by the host and waited about 2-3 minutes to be seated. There were around 4 or 5 tables that were already seated and/or eating. Setting: typical western restaurant with booths and tables. Quite dark inside. We were sat at a booth but the seats had a bunch of residual bread crumbs on them. We had to ask a waiter/busboy to clean off the seats for us. Food: This restaurant is known for their pizza so we ordered their signature pizza to share. We also ordered the fried zucchini appetizer and the spaghetti bolognese which came with a side (Minestrone soup) There was complimentary bread and butter for the table - it was soft and fluffy on the inside and had a nice crust. But it came out cold. Would have been better if it was warmed up. Fried zucchini: well breaded, came with ranch. Portion size was ok, not too big but not too little either. But quite expensive at $11 for an appetizer that did not WOW the table. Minestrone Soup: average, quite salty, given it is early in the evening, the soup should not be this salty whereas the end of the day usually means the soup has been reduced and concentrated by warming/simmering. Spaghetti Bolognese: plenty of meat in the sauce and pretty tasty as well; but the biggest flaw was that the spaghetti was way overcooked. Huge negative for an Italian restaurant - the base/pasta of your dishes should be perfect and this was far from Al dente. Petrillo Signature Pizza: loaded with toppings, they did not cheap out with the toppings and pretty tasty as well; however, another big flaw was that the dough was dry and dense - the dough did not rise. The yeast in the dough was either non-existent or was not given enough time to rise and create the fluffy dough and crust texture of a typical pizza. We basically got dense flatbread. As this was the signature pizza, it was quite disappointing. Service: Average, nothing great. The servers came by a couple times only after the food came out. Could have really stopped by a couple more time to check in. Rating: 2 stars Review summary is based on mainly food quality as the quality of the food, attention to detail, and execution all was very subpar. Given the kitchen was not super busy on a Saturday evening, the poor quality leaves much to desire.

We were seated right away, and the place already had quite a few people dining inside. The experience started a little off for me when ordering. I asked for the spaghetti carbonara with added chicken, and was told no because it already came with bacon. I understood that, but I still wanted to add chicken. I then asked if I could order the penne pasta dish with chicken but substitute a different pasta since I'm not a fan of penne, and again was told no. I've been to plenty of restaurants that don't allow certain substitutions, but simply adding chicken seemed like a reasonable request, especially since I didn't mind paying extra for it. It just felt a little strange being told no to every option. That said, the other staff members were attentive and provided good service throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is casual and had a steady crowd while we were there. I also noticed the entire staff working that night appeared to be male, just an observation. The food itself was really good. The baby greens salad, pasta dish, and chicken portobello were all very flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, I left with mixed feelings because the food was solid, but the ordering experience could have been more accommodating. Still, I would recommend giving this place a try because the food definitely delivers.
