Came here as we got a coupon from school. They are really nice giving out coupons to the kids. We got a large pizza and add the chicken bites as well. We like their food but it's on the pricey side. Kids love the game room in the back.

I wasn't able to stay and was curious to see if they were able to do their Bunch a Lunch to-go. Sure enough, they were able to. The staff member at the register was really nice and informed us it is cheaper to take it to go than to dine in. $13.99 is $16.99 with no drink. They give one large box and one small box. Whatever and however much you can fit in the boxes is what you can take away with you.

I will have to say for a Shakey's this one is the best one I have frequented. For a Saturday night it wasn't too busy. The staff is very friendly and goes above and beyond. The staff is young but yet they have great customer service. Customer service in the younger generation seems to be lacking I've noticed lately. For example, although a small gesture the employee who had prepared my pitcher of beer made sure there was little to no head on it. It took him awhile to fill it up. Just small things like that go a long way for me. The food was really good, pizza, salad bar, mojos etc. Even the tiny arcade they have kept my child entertained and happy. I enjoy going here to watch the dodger games as well, they have many tv's throughout the dining room. Thumbs up to this Shakey's, I'll be coming back soon.

There was a homeless man that was eating in the facility. It made me lose my appetite. He was using the soda fountain and sitting in the booth. We came for the bunch o lunch. It was very busy starting at 11 am. The food was fresh and hot. The fried chicken pieces were very small. Other than that it was a decent meal.

I came in to get a medium PCM roughly around 8 PM. The cashier was very friendly and professional. Also, I ordered a beer, a Pacifico to be exact. The mug or glass and the beer were plenty cold. The bartender is very nice and attentive. The pizza came out first and it is completely loaded with pepperonis. I can't wait to see what the chicken and Mojos look like. There's a group or family together and the ambience is fantastic.!!!

Thx guys for a great Nite

Tonight my husband came in around 8:30pm to pick up take out and he had a wonderful experience! Our food was ready right on time. Fresh pizza , chicken & mojos. Wonderful service. The gentleman that helped him was kind , welcoming and made sure we had the ranch , jalapeños & plates that I had asked for on the order notes. They double checked everything and made sure it was satisfactory! We have came here for years but tonight was exceptional! Thank you !

Fried chicken breast and salad to go
    Claribel V.

This Shakey's makes the best fried chicken. I always get fried chicken to go from here. The skin is so crispy and the meat is so tender and juicy. Even the breast meat is tender and not dry at all. The chicken is seasoned well and has the perfect level of saltiness. I also always get the one trip to the salad bar to go. It is a great deal for $5.99. I fill the container with lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, olives, beets, croutons and thousand island dressing. This salad is so refreshing and delicious. One order is enough for 4 servings. The staff are always friendly and helpful here. I've only dined in here once a long time ago and service for dine in was good too. I suggest calling in your order if you plan on to take it to go because the wait can be long.

Everything was amazing food, venue, and most importantly the service. Special thanks to Brenda, Daniel, and MVP Daisy.

Opening in 1998, Paradise Chinese Buffet in Montebello is the original of the four Paradise brands…read morein the LA area. This location was recently named one of three LA area buffets in the top 150 in the country, based on Google reviews. I've been to a lot of buffets (Chinese and otherwise), and this was near the top, especially based on the price. We came about 30 minutes after its 11 am opening, and the place was already packed with a line waiting to get in. You pay first, getting water and soda cups at checkout (plates are plentiful near the buffet itself). Emmelyn was the check-in associate, and she was joyful and friendly, putting a smile on my wife's face after a stressful drive through LA traffic. We found out that my wife's lunch was free because it was her birthday. Lunch pricing is $15.19 (M-F), minus $1 for seniors and military. Refillable soda is $2.99. It's find your own seating, and we grabbed the first seats we could find. -- being super crowded meant the food was constantly being replenished and kept fresh. It also meant a lot of line (inadvertent) line cutting and careful, slow movements...need to be careful for sure. -- the taste of the food was good, mainly because most things were turning over quickly. However, the selection of dishes wasn't huge, and the soups didn't look too good. -- I focused on the sushi and was satisfied. They had different type simple rolls and nigiri, with soy sauce at each table. They also had a bottle of eel sauce to douse your rolls with more, if you want. Towards the end, discovered a New Zealand green mussel dish in a hot chili sauce, which I took full advantage of. -- the must get is the Mongolian Grill, which dominates the center of the restaurant. There were three types of sliced frozen meat (beef, chicken, pork), a variety of vegetables (including my favorite, baby corn), and various runny sauces that you pour on top when done. Once your bowl is complete, you need to give it to the operator. But here its a bit different: it operates on a unique system that I've only seen here. In the front counter, there are 20 spots where numbered pager sits. Once a person fills up a bowl with raw ingredients, they place it on the next available pager spot, taking the pager with them. Once the food is cooked, the pager goes off. You then exchange the bowl in your spot, with the pager...and the cycle continues. I asked myself what would happen if all 20 pagers were taken, and decided if that happened, you would have to wait since there would be no more space on the grill for your plate anyway. The system worked really well, with all three of us taking advantage of it. Taste wise, I've had better but certainly not for that price. And I just love the efficiency of it all. -- soft serve ice cream was available, and it was very thick and creamy (though a bit off in taste). My wife also mentioned that you can get cotton candy as well. -- Service was good, with an employee in a hostess outfit personally letting us know that she was there to assist us, including getting drinks. She did clear dishes when necessary, but also seemed to be supervising our section. What's interesting is that the same report mentioned King Buffet in Garden Grove, which now seems to be another branch of the Paradise chain. So need to be leery of such reports not being current...but in this case, following its suggestion paid off.

Disclaimer first, i'm a huge fan of chinese style hotpot. Luckily all that shabu offers a selection of broth and sauces. They are true japanese style, so don't expect mala here, even the chili oil is a bit hidden on containers a bit away from the sauce bar. I tried the spicy beef broth, it has miso flavor and slightly tangy undertone. It has heat, but not spicy at all. The spicy pine sauce and wasabi ponzu (the best!) fulfills my search for heat in this place. All the sauces (except sesame sauce) has acidity/tangyness in it. The meat are good quality and very thin so it's ready in just a few dips. The brisket is fatty, and it's my favorite but only at this place thanks to the acidic profile that cuts through the rich fats. The short plate is very thin and tender, the flat iron steak is more lean. The chuck eye is kinda the middle ground. Unfortunately lamb only served as dinner menu. The vegetable and mushrooms bar have adequate variety, but they only have two kinds of tofu which is soft tofu and fried tofu pockets. No beancurds/tofu skin. They have more selection in seafood though. There's ice cream, soda fountain, green tea and black tea, and even buffet food like fried rice and wonton etc. Overall it's a well-priced hotpot for good quality ingredients, with japanese style broths. And the best thing is they accepts solo diners.

I tried it again with my friend the other day because we were in the area. I thought it was just okay and probably wouldn't come back here specifically because there's just a lot of better places, but this isn't bad at all for the price. The inside was huge and dimly lit, and they had a large self serve bar for hot sides, drinks, hot pot toppings like veggies and seafood, sauces, and dessert. It was a great vibe! There's a pretty large variety of broths to pick from which is nice. We both got the spicy beef, which tasted rich and tomatoey so it was different than a typical beef bone broth that I expected! It was nice because the acidity helped to balance with the richness of the meats. Of all the meats, our favorites were the brisket and the beef short plate. Personally I like to know which meats are which but sometimes when I asked, the servers couldn't really tell them apart so it kinda sucked because I wanted to know which ones I actually liked to order more of those. They were quick with taking our orders though and meats came out really quick. For hot sides, they had a large variety of things, such as fried rice, crab, crispy fried chicken, kimchi, and more. I liked that there was variety! I just think that overall, the experience didn't wow me as much as it did back then, but definitely cheaper than most places and so you get what you pay for!

The staff were consistently kind, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. The restaurant itself was very clean and well-organized. Customer service stood out in a really positive way--everyone was patient, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care that guests were having a good time. Thank you, Lucas!

A solid buffet :) lots of choices for an affordable price. $28.99 all day for an adult and 10%…read morediscount for seniors with an ID. Service is great and quick at cleaning up after your plates. The inside was spacious with lots of seating. Pay at the front and you're good to get started! Start the buffet with their slightly salted certified angus roast beef. A bit on the drier side but still okay! They have lots of proteins and vegetables from broccoli beef and bok choy stems to sichuan chicken, scallops, clams, salmon, shrimp, and beef cubes. Head to their fried foods section and you'll find pizza, sweet potatoes, sesame balls, egg tarts, and bbq chicken skewers. For soups, enjoy a spicy hot and sour, fish maw and imitation crab, or meat ball soup. They even have shu mai, taro buns, sticky red bean rice, and sticky mushroom rice. I love going to their customizable stir fry line and making my own fried udon with egg, pineapple, garlic, and mushrooms. They have lots of seafood, sushi, and sashimi too from rolls to seaweed salad, crab legs, and more! Need a sweet treat? Don't forget about their chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows, popcorn machine, or chocolate and mango cream cups or cake bites. They even have a fungus soup dessert, lychee, oranges, pineapples, jello, banana pudding, and more! Thanks Kami for a great time. Their focus is on quantity over quality but I appreciate the wide variety and still good food overall!

There's a solid variety of options, and you can definitely find something to satisfy whatever you're in the mood for. A few of the fruit and sushi items seemed like they may have been sitting out for a bit, which can happen at buffets, but there were still plenty of other choices to enjoy. The Mongolian grill wasn't running during my visit (I believe it's available during dinner hours), so that's something I'd be curious to try next time. The standout for me was actually the soups -- both the hot & sour soup and the miso soup were flavorful and comforting, and I ended up going back for more. Service was fine: nothing over-the-top, but attentive enough to keep things moving smoothly. All in all, it's a decent, no-frills buffet spot. I'd call it a solid 3-star experience, especially if you're nearby and craving variety in one place.

Fuji itself was probably like 40-50% occupied and there was plenty of parking. For $37 (and 20% for seniors on Mon/Tues), I thought it was pretty worth for the amount of food we ate. - Korean rib (grill): thinly cut, tender, and nicely marinated (even when you don't ask for any special sauces). so yummy to eat it fresh off the grill - snow crab: i prefer eating this hot than chilled, and it hit the spot! meaty, sweet crab. they refilled this often - cajun seafood: not too salty! includes mussels, shrimps, thin corn cobs which I actually prefer - crawfish: nicely marinated and tasty but dry meat ); parents said the last time they had this here a month ago it was better - salmon sashimi was also restocked and tasted fresh - Fish maw soup/chowder: both were tasty as well - matcha ice cream: yummm - lots of fresh fruit options: blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, cherries even Other selections are standard and not bad. Dim Sum is unique but usually not done well so I didn't even bother. Chicken feet isn't bad tho Bathrooms could be cleaner and service was slooow. We maybe saw our waiter like 3 times? He only cleared our plates once and he never offered us water refills, which we had to actively flag him down for. It wasn't busy as it was a Monday and we were the only table in that seating area (lower level by the Mongolian grill)

The fried chicken was room temperature, the fries were mushy, the salt and pepper calamari was chewy and cold. The crab legs were the only item that was good, it wasn't overcooked, perhaps that's the benefit of the food not being hot in the buffet. Dishes were cleared but drinks were not refilled. And drinks are in addition to the buffet price. The desserts are sad. Place is clean and large, but not particularly well kept. We will not be coming back.

This time, we ordered the Shrimp with Cashew Nuts and the Beef with Chinese Broccoli. The Shrimp with Cashew Nuts was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the Beef with Chinese Broccoli was extremely salty. After just one bite, I honestly couldn't eat any more of it. I have always liked this restaurant and have been coming here frequently over the years. I've enjoyed their lobster several times with my family, and almost every dish I've tried here has been delicious. That's why I was especially disappointed with the Beef with Chinese Broccoli this time, as it was far too salty. Despite that, I still think this is a great place for lunch. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced, the service is always good, and the portions of rice are very generous. One thing I especially appreciate is the complimentary orange slices they serve to every customer after the meal. The oranges are always fresh and sweet, making a nice ending to lunch. One other thing I noticed during this visit was that the restroom now has a new premium hand soap. I don't remember seeing it before, and it was a nice little upgrade that added a touch of luxury hand soap to the overall experience. Overall, I still enjoy coming here and will definitely be back. Hopefully, the kitchen can be a little more careful with the seasoning next time .
