As I walked pass the campus roads towards UTC, I was unable to decide whether or not I should eat at Blaze Pizza as it would be my first time. When I finally made up my mind, I saw a looong line but decided to wait. I wanted to know why there is always a long line outside Blaze Pizza. What is their secret? When I entered the restaurant and looked around, all I could see was the packed room buzzing with friends and family. The room is dimly lit, which in my opinion makes it looks good and comfortable. The décor is pretty good with tables and chairs rightly organized. The place is well spaced and clean. There is always an atmosphere of joy. When I got to the counter, I was greeted very warmly. The staff really knows their stuff and help you decide your combinations pretty well. The service is superb because of the sterling work of the staff. The best part of Blaze pizza is probably the best deal it offers. Build your own pizza? Build your own pizza for only about $8! It is totally worth the price. There are also options for signature pizzas, but I am sure the craze is because of the build your own pizza! You can put as many topping as you want! Banana Pepper, Mushrooms, jalapeños, olives, different kinds of sauces and cheese and so much more. Everything you love can be all on top of your pizza! When I was done customizing my pizza, I looked at the how they placed my delicious looking pizza on top of the open oven, with fire providing the necessary heat. It was hardly five to ten minutes when I was called to collect my pizza and it looked even more amazing with the pesto sauce on top. I could not wait any longer! It was hot, fresh and so mouthwatering! When I finally grabbed a seat and took my first bite, I could feel the cheese melting in my mouth. The thin crust makes it even better. Each ingredient on its own has its delicious stomach growling smell. Altogether the smell is appealing. The food is very different and exceptionally delicious. I totally love the food at Blaze Pizza. The most appealing features of Blaze Pizza are great food and good service and décor. You can supplement your pizza with refreshments. The location makes it even more alluring as it is near campus and surrounded by good deserts shops. I would totally recommend Blaze Pizza for both quality and quantity! ,I visited Blaze Pizza today August 19, 2021. A man by the name of Jacob assisted me with my order. He had on gloves, however he had to pick up a marker in order to write my name on the bag. I asked him if he could please get some fresh gloves. Not only did he change gloves but he also washed his hands very thoroughly as I watched. THIS WAS COMMENDABLE. This man was VERY PROFESSIONAL, CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED AND POLITE. I wanted to ensure that this young man was recognized for a job well done, so I asked who was the manager? Jacob pointed at at this black man and said he is. I asked his name and he told me it was T. I then said to T, excuse me, you're the manager? He said no and pointed at Jacob. Jacob looked baffled. I can only assume that T thought that I wanted to complain, when all I wanted to do is to commend Jacob for a job well done. This T person is a very RUDE, NON CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED PERSON. I say this because when I first visited Blaze Pizza in Grand Prairie, he was training a young lady at which time he was also VERY RUDE. First of all let me just state that your INITIAL should NOT be given as your name in a place of business and secondly, how this guy obtained this job, I may never know. I created a yelp account just to leave this review. I used to come to Blaze frequently. I've been coming less and less due to the management. They're just rude. There's a new manager it seems (Hispanic) who hovers over the pizza makers and yells at them in front of paying customers. I'd would be nice to eat without having to hear the waitstaff yelled at. Yesterday I came in and there was some big hubbub going on with a bunch of managers. A woman named Ruth kept telling people how to do things that would have been easier for her to just do herself. She also kept correcting employees in front of customers. The service was also really slow. With all those managers sitting around it shouldn't have been an issue. But it took 9 minutes for me to get my pizza and the managers scooted me out of my table. Update: Owner tried to appease me with free pizza (and an obvious form letter with grammatical errors!) but did not address the actual problem of the rude management ruining the dining experience repeatedly. No, I will not come back. I'd rather go to pieology, Tony's or Gina's for pizza as they don't have this problem. Nor do they have the noticeable turnover (which might be a clue there's a managerial issue). The constant turnover makes the pizza's really inconsistent. Take a note from Tender Greens on customer service and employee treatment. Everyone is happy in there! Blaze Pizza is like a subway restaurant but for your pizza. It is located at the University Town Center, which is very close and easily accessible for those attending UCI. I got the red vine pizza, which included mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, cherry tomatoes, parmesan, and an olive oil drizzle. You are able to add any other ingredients to your pizza (no extra charge), or you are also able to create your own personal pizza. The crust on all the pizzas are very very thin, so if you do not enjoy thin crust I would not recommend this place. They have a huge selection of ingredients so there is something for everyone. The customer service is excellent. They are very friendly when you first walk into the restaurant. If the restaurant is busy, it can get pretty loud and you may have to talk louder than usual to order. Depending on when you go, there may be a small wait but nothing too extreme. There are a lot of employees so there tends to be a very low wait time for your food. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating both inside and outside. The price range is anywhere from $4-$9 depending on what type of pizza you get. Personally the pizza is big enough for a meal but if you are a big eater one pizza may not be enough for you. The food and the size you get are definitely worth the money. I was overall very satisfied with the food and the customer service was great. TL;DR: The pizza is mediocre, cross-contamination issues, place has roaches, and the manager is hostile. Thought I'd give Blaze another try last week since whatever, I live on campus. So this time.... I order my pizza. The toppings area is again (as many others have stated as well) a total mess. The bins of toppings contain "extra" toppings. What if I had a severe food allergy??!! Oh wait, I do.... so i had to be VERY careful and only order toppings that looked safe/no cross-contamination. Got pizza. Burnt. Sat down to eat anyway. Sat inside as to soak up any semblance of a/c as it was hot out. (Blaze isn't advised for this as the pizza ovens are hella hot..... ) The manager (heavy, short, latina) was sipping a soda while standing in the entrance to the kitchen blocking other people and being hella critical while essentially doing nothing... So I asked her if they could remake my pizza because it was too burnt and she refused. Seriously? So I can't have good tasting food??? I've noticed that Blaze has a reputation for having workers that DGAF. This might be why.... So I'm sitting there by myself eating my possibly contaminated, burnt pizza and what do I see? THIS ONE STAR IS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ONLY --- NOT THE PIZZA WHICH GETS 5 STARS. I had tried all of these new create your own pizzas, Pieology, Blaze, Pizza Rev etc, noticed one thing different. Blaze RAISED their price of the vegan cheese from $2 to $3!!! Pizza Rev is $1 Pieology is $2 Blaze is THREE BUCKS! So I contacted the customer service for Blaze. Very nice and said they were going to rethink the price since others offer vegan cheese too (same Daiya vegan cheese as the others). I was offered a few free coupons but waited.. and waited.. never arrived. I emailed the same person again saying I never received ... crickets.. still no answer and no complimentary coupons. Puts a real bad taste in my mouth. Why bother going to a restaurant that doesn't stand by their word? Very disappointed in the customer service from them, and DON'T OFFER FREE COUPONS AND NOT SEND THEM! Decided to give it another try. Most of the service was great with one exception. I don't know what it is with this blaze but their management sucks. The lady was literally behind the workers screaming to pass the pizza's. What is up with that. These are working humans not robots and I feel that no one needs to stand behind them screaming. Also my pizza was soggy in the middle but burnt on the bottom. Again the manager acted like I was wasting her time with my complaints, you could practically here her eyes rolling as I brought up my concerns. Made sure to get her name. Blaze you are getting 2 stars because of the rest of staff. It would be higher but Amanda made the experience horrible from screaming at the workers to being so unprofessional when I had a complaint. Yes Yes Yes!!! I just found out blaze is in Irvine!!! Thank you who ever owns this particular location. I may be late to the opening party since it has 700 reviews!! There are a ton of fast fire pizzas around... Pieology, 800 degrees, pizza rev... Honestly they are all not true Italian pizzas OTHER than blaze ! I sorta feel like I can say that since I am Italian :). Blazes ingredients are the best! Not as many as pieology but who cares! It's better since you don't make the bad mistake of getting the bad topping ! The service is great and fast duh! This location is soooo clean! It's going to do very well. As a first timer at blaze I can say that it was more than a "create your own pizza" experience!!! It was a journey! So many toppings and the staff was really friendly! Like Vicky (I hope that's how you spell her name) who was more then patient with me. She made me feel at home and didn't judge the fact that I had about 20 toppings on my pizza AND I still had the guts to ask for extra ranch and BBQ sauce on the side :D but nevertheless I loved her customer service because the 2nd time I went to blaze there she was ready to help me! I went in there two days ago for lunch with my friend since we had a pie day discount. It was surprisingly not too busy this week probably because of finals. When I got to register, I asked the cashier Audri if they had a tip jar and she said no, and that I should yelp them instead. I remember her helping me with the register and cutting my pizza. She was really nice, and so was Brittany, who helped me with most of my pizza down the line. The other girl Karen/Karina (not sure) was kind of moody and slowing down the line. excellent pizza - only been to the Cabazon one (3 days prior) and had to come to this location for one. It's as good as the first time. The bad is I'M CRAVING THESE PIES now. They are that good! Service was okay, most kids working there must go to UCI. It was a longer wait of course but thats okay. They got my pizza just right and being a vegan, boy do I appreciate them having Daiya vegan cheese. They use the best of the best of vegan cheeses. The line was moving at a good speed during lunch, and the dinning room was completely full. Everyone was so nice and my pizza was cooked to perfection! The cashier (Britt) was super nice. I wanted BBQ on my pizza and I asked for it to go. When I picked it up, the girl cutting the pizza (Maria) seemed flustered and rude. She told me I could put the pizza in a half box because i was eating here...I saw the cashier mark the paper to-go and the dining room was full. Thank you, Britt! This place is simply amazing! I came here with my sister and we ordered BBQ chicken and added bell peppers, bell peppers, mushrooms, and jalapenos. IT WAS DELICIOUS! You get to choose your own toppings without adding extra cents to your bill. Seriously, better than Pizza Hunt, Shakey's, Papa Johns, and Dominoe's. The crust is very thin and I like it that way. Not so greasy and oily. Not over-powered with too much cheese. This is a better place to get healthy AND delicious AND affordable pizza. You need to try it out yourself. read more

Just had a great experience again at Blaze! I was out in irvine... lost and wouldn't ya know Blaze! Its becoming easier to find one when you are hungry for a pie ;). Well this is the first one and they do a very good job, i was surprised how quick this location was but it was also before noon so who knows. Overall a good joint to eat on campus. I have been here over 20 times. Generally speedy service. You can get anything that you want with the build-your-own option. Got my pizza burned twice and was left waited for a long time once because someone dropped my pizza but did not call me until I asked. But having problems 3/20+ times is still relatively alright considering the high traffic during lunch time. It would have been great if this ratio is 0/20+ though. read more

It was pretty slow when I went in today to order my pizza and right when they were about to put the meat on my pizza I noticed that there were ANTS on the actual table where the food, specifically the meat section.. Gross... I mean ants always tend to find their way around somehow but never have I seen them on the actual service table where their products are. Really disgusting.
