We go to restaurants first because of the food, but I'll be honest, we go to Blaze more often because of the staff because they make it such an enjoyable experience. I wanted to spotlight Lequisha, the assistant manager, about an experience I witnessed her handle exceptionally. The customer before us suffered from food allergies and Lequisha not only went above and beyond to pull new sauces, new spoons, new toppings, and took extreme care to prevent cross contamination for her, she also made sure the customer remained completely satisfied when the customer began to complain that the coal fire grill needed to be cleaned and cook only her pizza. This was with a busy line full of people at 7:15PM! The customer then proceeded to complain that the pizza was burnt and although she had a coupon for her husband's pizza to be free, she wanted her pizza to be free as well, all while stating she intended to eat the burnt pizza. The interaction with this customer lasted for upwards of 25 minutes. Our 3 pizzas went cold while they were sorting everything out, but we were fine, because we respect the staff and could see they were dealing with an irrational issue. It was very uncomfortable and embarrassing to watch this customer continue to act childish over every issue, gaining the attention by other consumers, but Lequisha continued to offer to remake the pizza, she kept a smile on her face, and remained professional and cool headed under the pressure. Blaze pizza has an exceptional team in that location, and Lequisha just earned MVP. I hope she receives the respect she deserves from customers with this review, if not more. She certainly earned it. read more

This pizza is AMAZING! And the service is even better!! You only get charged once and you can get as many toppings as you want..it's a dream come true. (Even for vegans, they have vegan cheese!) Also, on that note, I would like to say they are awesome to people with special diets. Without hesitation, she made sure there was a glove change for the person who was making my pizza, they even cut it with a separate cutter. My boyfriend and I discovered blaze and had such a wonderful first experience with the food and service, so naturally, we went back two days later. We went to get high rise crust this time, but they only had one ready and we wanted two. We waited for a little bit, (which wasn't a big deal, at all) But the very awesome and super friendly manager, Christina, told me to talk to her after I checked out. She was very apologetic for the wait and even gave us some coupons in return. You can really tell her and the staff go out of their way to satisfy the customers. This past week I went into Blaze pizza in frandor to try what a few of my friends had told me about. When i came into the store i was greeted with a smile by a cashier named Alexis. She asked how i was doing and told me someone would be with me shortly. As the other employees continued to talk and ignore the fact i was standing there waiting to order a pizza Alexis left her register to take my order. She made me my pizza, got me a drink cup, put my pizza in the oven and even rang me up. While doing so she talked to me, asking how my day was, holding a light converstion that made my wait fly by. She then apologized to me for me having to wait to place a order. She was so genuine and sweet to me. I wish This world hadmore workers like her when i go places. If i owned a buisness this would be the type of person i would offer a job to work for me right on the spot. I left a 3$ tip because of her and i just hope she got it. She was the only one there WORKING behind the counter and she actually deserved it. She deserved to know she was worth tipping for. read more

This is our first time visiting Blaze Pizza and it's not easy to find vegan options in Lansing. We were extremely surprised to find gluten free crust and vegan cheese as apart of their ingredient choices. As our pizzas were preparing, I failed to mention to Adam and Julio that both pizzas were to be made with gluten-free dough. The two employees Sarah and Meme insisted that they make another pizza for us. It wasn't a big deal to us and we were happy to eat them as they were. While sitting at our table Sarah and MeMe came over to give us coupons for a free pizza on our next visit. They also greeted us by asking if we had been here before since we haven't they explained the whole process and answered all our question they even asked if we wanted them to change their gloves between touching certain food items (very impressed) All in all our first experience has been wonderful and we will definitely share our experience with our vegan friends Thank you again Meme, Sarah Julio and Adam and all the other staff at Blaze Pizza Experience was great read more

My visit yesderday at Blaze was very unusual but plesant when we got there the line was almost to the door, but moved at a steady pace. When we got up to make our pizzas everybody had a smile on their face and we were served service with a smile, what mad it unusual was the workers bouncing all over. Some employees were just standing around while some was preparing everything. I met some employees including a manager named Jason, a very upbeat young lady named Drea and a young Man by the name of Melvin. These three are what made our visit better then some of our previous visits, they greeted every customer with a smile and kept things running with a normal procedure even with all the people coming In and with other employees not participating. I want to thank blaze for shaping up and steeping up to our expectations. Your almost there guys!! Keep up the great work.. you can definitely see the improvement read more

The ingredients are top notch, the idea for this restaurant is brilliant, but the staff is WILDLY INCONSISTENT. Tonight I'm so thankful that Robyn was working crazy hard (she had to do every single station and even ring me up!!) because my two very different pizzas were perfectly prepared. It was hard to watch a particular staff member make snide comments and move at the speed of molasses-His behavior made me feel uncomfortable and his flippant attitude toward teamwork kept me in the "fast Fire'd" restaurant way longer than I should have been. With an open set-up like Blaze, an employee can't behave the way that one in particular did without putting me off my appetite a bit. I appreciate Robyn for going above and beyond and Mike for taking pride in their jobs and enduring a tough shift with a smile. These types of employees are why I come back. I am so grateful Blaze is in Lansing! I have dairy & gluten allergies & I can eat here. They have gluten free crust & vegan cheese. They change gloves, have a separate sauce, are very careful about cross contamination, & do not act like it's a bother to accommodate my needs. I feel like I'm eating regular pizza! Not only is the pizza great, but the customer service is better. Everyone is friendly & has a smile on their face. I have been coming here since they opened & really enjoy my dining experience if Robin is working. She is warm & friendly, asks how my day is going, stops by my table to make sure everything is good. THE STAFF AT BLAZE IS AMAZING!! I had went in to redeem a reward from the Blaze Pizza app but for whatever reason the app wouldn't work. I was then given a promotional card for the same reward that for some reason also wouldn't work on the app. Not only did the staff allow me to come back and give my order for free, no questions asked, but they also made one of my pizzas twice because it bubbled up in the oven and let me keep the messed up pizza. That is almost unheard of and AMAZING of them to do so!!! Special shout out to the staff working at the time: Robyn who answered the phone and personally made my delicious pizzas, Mee Mee, Will, Angelica, Jordan, and Bethany. Last night had an amazing pizza baked by Mike C. I've had pizzas there before that were underbaked in the middle and burnt on the edges, because gluten-free crusts bake a bit differently. The pizza Mike produced for me was cooked all the way through and wasn't burnt at the edges. A difficult trick to pull off with this crust! He was fun to watch as he was cheerfully hard at work, too! Have to also thank Jon in the line who was very compassionate toward my friend (we were dining out after a long day of appointments to discuss her impending breast cancer surgery). I walk up and stand there for 20 minutes. Then some guy that was sweaty, overbearing and kept coughing on the food took my order. After waiting for another 20 minutes for my pizza, once out the oven it proceeded to just sit on the counter for 10 minutes and became cold. Long story short, I took a bite into a burnt piece of ice, that I also had to cut myself with a plastic fork since the employees don't know how to cut a pizza. I venture out a lot for food and have been to blaze many times, mostly the one on located on Grand River. Now don't get me wrong it's nice having a Blaze Pizza on campus but when it comes to getting Blaze later at night I drive the extra distance out of campus to the Clippert Location for solely the service. I went in a on Sunday night and I was greeted by Robyn and she was real polite. The pizza looked really good and it came out perfectly cooked out the oven. It was soo good! The food is great. It's clean. It has a chipotle feel to the atmosphere and outdoor seating. And every person who works there is sooo friendly. They all make eye contact with you and say hello. There were two guys coming off a break or coming into work as i walked out to the patio and they both said hello, enjoy your pizza with big smiles. I LOVE Blaze Pizza since it gives me an affordable way to get what I want AND Gluten Free! This location is always clean, and they are always stocked. The staff smiles and laughs, making the experience pleasant since you don't get the impression that they're miserable being there. I was just in blaze pizza with my father and girlfriend when I was confronted during the beginning of the build your own pizza by an employee that seemed like she was having a bad day. After the confrontation, I spoke with the store manager myself named Jeff. He was a very pleasant manager and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience during our time here. I went to blaze and there was an employee named Crystal she stood out to me because she communicated effectively with me and prepared my pizza just how I wanted it. Crystal was cleaning and she instantly stopped and said " Welcome to blaze, Have you ever been here before and I said yes and she took my order and made my pizza. The build-your-own concept is super convenient -- you can customize everything exactly how you want it, and they don't skimp on toppings. We are a big family with a lot of food sensitivities. I'm so thankful there is somewhere we can all go and safely eat. If you are a strict celiac this isn't the place for you. However, if you have some non traditional food requests the staff is more than willing to oblige as they are able. I love the non traditional topping options such as roasted garlic or arugala, add in natural-ish sodas and you have happy kids and parents.
