Great concept for a fast casual restaurant, basically subway for pizza. I ordered an 11-inch pizza with 2 toppings for around $11. They have multiple different dough, sauces, cheeses, and of course toppings available to choose depending on your favorite flavors and allergies. I ordered the classic crust, which is delicious and thin. I usually don't like crust, but their dough is flavorful on its own that I actually enjoyed it. For my sauce, I tried the spicy red and wasn't impressed. It honestly didn't taste any different from a normal marinara sauce and certainly wasn't spicy. I got shredded mozzarella, crispy bacon, and green peppers as my toppings. The cheese was nicely melted and covered the whole pie, minus a one-inch crust. The bacon was very disappointing. Firstly, it was thrown all in the middle so not every slice had it. And secondly, it wasn't crispy. Some pieces I even questioned if it was cooked by how pink and flimsy it was. The green peppers were fine, some cuts were large and others super thin creating an odd texture difference and not every piece having them. I've been to this location several times over the last few years and despite the food being good, the service has sadly started going downhill. Recently, I ordered ahead online for pickup. I showed up at the estimated time and noticed the online pickup station rack was no longer where it used to be near the fountain drinks. I asked one of the 12 people working where I should pick up my order and she indicated down where the in-person orders were being finished and boxed. I headed down that way and saw no boxes ready for pick up. He had my boxes behind the counter the whole time, but there was no way for me to know that. The employees are mostly friendly, but it's just disorganized for online pick up. They sent me a text 45 mins after I left to let me know my order was ready.. that being said, the pizza is always exactly what i'm expecting. The BYO 11-inch is always my go to. The crust is thin and fresh, the unlimited toppings are amazing, and the cheese is always super melty despite the number of cheeses I add This visit, I opted to try the cinnamon bread which looked like nothing special but was actually so delicious. This place used to be great. I came back after a few months and now it's a joke. The staff didn't say a word to me besides taking my order and all seemed to have a lack of urgency. My food was even worse. The pizza was the most uneven pie I've ever seen. Pepperonis were scattered all over the crust and nowhere near the middle. The sauce isn't as good as it used to be, and the cheese lacks flavor! Very disappointing seeing this place go down the crapper. I really like Blaze Pizza a lot. It is not the best pizza around but it is very good. The staff have always been nice and friendly and always helpful. I generally order the same thing a pizza with extra sauce lots of pepperoni and lots of black olives. As always pizza did not disapoint. The nice thing about Blaze is the pie is enough for one person who is very hungry or two people with less of an appetite. This place is not cheap but I still find myself coming back because of how much I love their pizza, especially when you know what you like. They have an almost endless amount of toppings and crusts you can choose from. I personally really like the cauliflower crust which is my favorite. They also have balsamic glaze, arugala, multiple different cheeses, roasted red peppers, chicken, ricotta, fresh herbs, artichoke hearts, spinach and so many things you don't know are amazing on pizza until you try them. I reviewed this location pre-Covid and we're still huge fans. I wanted to update with additional photos and Covid-19 notes. The food is still amazing and fast. There are very clear mask guidelines posted, they ask you to stay behind a line to keep you separated from the food/employees a bit more than the pre-Covid rules. There were chairs missing at half the tables to keep distance between patrons and EVERYONE I saw there (the one other guest and all employees) had masks on at all times (the other guest was just picking up, like we were, not eating in - clearly masks would need to be removed to eat/drink). They've done a great job keeping up with t he times so we can all stay safe, but enjoy the yumminess that is Blaze pizza. Really nice night out Blaze tonight. We got the build your own (regular crust but they have high raise, keto, cauliflower options too) a salad, drinks and brownies! You walk up to the counter and the first person asks what you want and as you move down the line - a person helps you to customize the pizza the way you like it! They do have premise options too like plain and bbq chicken --- but I wanted the experience of saying .. yes, that too please! Once the make the pizza - in the oven with it... but it's quick! By the time we got rang up - grabbed our drinks, napkins, utensils and the rosemary and hit pepper flakes .. they were calling us up to grab our creations! My crust was a little over cooked for my liking - but the pizza was fresh and delicious! The manager came around - offered a few samples of desserts they had ... the brownies are yummy! They also have a smite pie and chocolate chip cook .. my sisters and I shared so got to taste them all - favorite by far ... the brownie. I also have to give kudos to the guy who rang us up tonight and also cooked the pizza ... I wish I got his name now that I am writing this .... he was so friendly!!!! Had a BOGO coupon by checking in on Yelp, so total was approximately $15. What's Hot - Quality. Freshness and yumminess. Their pizzas are made on the spot in their fire oven. You can see their staff, behind a window, making fresh pizza dough, as well. You can definitely taste the freshness and quality of the food. For example, I could taste the garlic flavor of the roasted garlics I put on my pizza. Their ingredients appear fresh and maintained well. I could definitely taste the freshness of my pizza toppings and in my salad. - Menu. There's something for everyone- meat lovers and vegetarians. There's a nice variety of cheeses- mozzarella, parmesan, bleu cheese, ricotta, goat cheese, etc... There's bacon, chorizo, ham, pepperoni, etc... Their veggie selection is awesome! Artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, regular olives, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, roasted garlic, etc... That they have such a wide variety of options sets them apart from your regular pizza joint. I don't remember if they have gluten free pizza dough, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do have it. This chain began in CA, where different dietary restrictions and preferences are generally catered to by the food industry. - Health and safety. During this time of Covid-19, they are taking the necessary precautions. All their staff wear masks gloves. I believe they wore gloves before the pandemic, which shows that sanitation is important to them. There are a couple of hand sanitizer dispensers, as well. There was one by the front door, as you get in line to make your order. - Coupon by checking in on Yelp. When I checked in on Yelp, I received a BOGO coupon for pizzas, which I definitely took advantage of! I'm not going to turn down a delicious Blaze pizza! I also appreciate that they still have this BOGO coupon as restaurants are trying to maintain steady business. That they're still collaborating with Yelp and continuing offer this coupon guarantees my business. - Price. Reasonable, even without the Yelp BOGO coupon. Their menu price caters to your taste and appetite. Given the tradeoff for the amount of food you get (which are reasonable portions to make you full, not stuffed), it's reasonably priced. What's Not - No outdoor seating. During this time of Covid-19, restaurants are allowed to offer indoor seating, so long as there is enough physical distance between the tables. Blaze does offer indoor seating, but no outdoor seating. Fortunately, they're located in a plaza, where there are outdoor benches and other locations you may be able to utilize. There's also next door to a Panera, which offers outdoor seating. The Giant Eagle in this plaza has a Starbucks, which offers outdoor seating. My friend and I ate at one of the outdoor tables for Panera. Once we were finished, we stayed and continued chatting. The manager for the Panera asked us to leave the table, after we were finished, because the tables are meant for Panera customers. That we had Blaze takeout containers gave us away, haha.... Understandable, but all the more reason why it would be helpful for Blaze to offer its own outdoor seating. - Service. The staff who were helping me build my own pizzas and salad were a bit impatient with me. To be fair, I was piling on a lot of their veggies, like artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, roasted garlic, roasted bell peppers, etc.... Dudes, they have a good selection and variety of options, which is why I was taking my time. On the one hand, I understand there are other customers in line and they don't want to take too much time for each customer. On the other hand, there are a lot of good options, so they need to be prepared that each customer is different. Some are gonna take more time like me, cuz I want to take advantage of what you have. I brought my girlfriend her to try out their pizza/salad combination. After explaining to her how to BYO worked for both items she agreed to follow suit. I proceeded to "create" my duo and as she was going through the line her counter lady told her that you are only allowed one cheese on your salad but as many as you want on your pizza. There was never anything in the past that barred us from getting more than one cheese on the salad. Likewise when I was done with my order I asked for a "glaze" on my pizza. The fellow I was working with told me it would be added when the pizza was cooked. We paid, grabbed our drinks and sat down. Needless to say my friend's pizza was done first but I was ahead of her. I could see mine sitting under a "heat lamp" with a number attached to it. After taking her pizza to our booth I returned and saw her cutting up mine. No dripping sauce. This time I ordered the traditional dough with pesto sauce for a change of pace and my usual toppings. The salad as always is very generous but I did notice on my half pizza that one slice was simply "shortchanged" the toppings I had requested. Still both items were good and my girlfriend enjoyed hers as well. We glanced at the desserts but decided to pass on them. Blaze does offer you a selection of premade pizza and salads on their menu board but we find it easy just to go along and build our own. If you order a drink you must ask for a straw since they are environmentally friendly. They do cater to people with special dietary needs such as gluten free or vegan. Make sure to check as you walk alone the fast casual eatery and you will find what you are looking for. Note that only the traditional dough is included with your pizza. Any other dough such as cauliflower, keto, or thick crust has an upcharge associated with it. This was an average experience customer service wise and should I return will try to find out why you are only allowed one cheese on your salad where it isn't even listed. I've ordered the red vine twice and it is amazing! The bbq chicken pizza is also a good selection. The drizzle just the right amount of barbecue sauce, so it's not overwhelming and doesn't take away from the other savory flavors. The crust is always uniform, well done and crispy. I'm definitely trying the Caesar salad with my pizza for my next trip there. It looks delish covered in fresh, shaved Parmesan cheese. There are some already thought up combinations or you can go down the line and add your own ingredients. You can also start with one of Blaze's topping combos and customize them to your liking. Delicious thin crust pizza for two people for less than $10 - that's crazy. One pizza should be enough for a single person if you're hungry. We chose to go with a couple signatures since this was our first time, but you can certainly BYO (build your own) by choosing any toppings you want. We went with the Meat Eater (pepperoni, crumbled meatballs, red onion, mozzarella, red sauce) and the White Top (white cream sauce with mozzarella, applewood bacon, chopped garlic, oregano, arugula). All of the ingredients were fresh - I loved the tomato sauce, just gave the whole pizza a great vibe. Their process helps to keep the crust crispy for you as you wait for your pizza. Once the pie comes out of the oven, the pizza is rested on a cookie sheet before cutting. If you hate getting soggy pizza as your first bite, Blaze does a good job of minimizing that for you.
