Unclean establishment with workers who don't care about the product, quality or the ability to produce the food in a timely manner. Too many of the employees stand around unaware of what to do as though they were poorly trained by the management. Supervisor problem seem even more complex with the fact that there is dirt and product everywhere with no time or care taken to providing an atmosphere where one would want to partake in their pizza. This place makes some great pizzas! When we first walked in I noticed that you basically have a choice of ordering a pizza off their menu or you can pick what you want on your pizza. They have different stations (like meat and vegetables, etc.)where you tell them what you want on your pizza. After you have picked everything, they put you pizza into a fired oven. Then you pay at the cash register. In about 5 minutes our two pizzas were done. We went to a free table to eat. We were asked by an employee if everything was good and we said yes. The pizzas were very good tasting. Just like we wanted. From where we sat, I could see how they do these pizzas so fast. They had a full restaurant and more people coming. Even though they were busy, everyone was being served quickly. From my vantage point, I could see at least 10 people working. Each had a task. They had a tray of dough balls ready to go. I didn't see anyone making the dough, but they had a gigantic mixer. I could only guess that someone must have prepared the dough fresh that day. A person takes a dough ball and places it into a press. Once pressed into a flat into a slab of pizza dough, they are placed on trays and wait for a person to order. Then the slab of pizza dough goes down the assembly line where the customer picks exactly what they want on their pizza. The second was that they only sell flat baked pizza. We like flat baked pizza and don't mind eating without a plate. So this is not a drawback for us. We will be coming back again. read more

It's one of the boyfriend's favorite go-to spots, so it has slowly become mine. I wasn't too hungry, but one build your own pizza is more than enough for the two of us. They're quick and super nice about giving you extra toppings, so yay. This place never fails and the pizza is even better as leftovers. P.S. This is a two visit score, with a reach out to corporate with no response. Twice. The place is busy, and you expect busy because the pizza is good. I prefer it to MOD, and visit the Palm Springs location often. The first complaint comes from watching an employee who was mopping the floors splash concentrated fabuloso on the walls next to the flour uses for the pizza dough itself. The smell of the cleaner was strong and actually overpowered the taste of the pizza. I am all for being clean, but I don't want to ingest chemicals either. The second complaint comes from a customer service perspective. MOST of the people who work there are very friendly, this person however was not. I watched her grab something I have a strong aversion to, it is a pungent wer ingredient that overwhelms other items. I asked if she could change her gloves, she told me no. Then she walked over (and while toughing people, trash, and wiping unused food off a back counter - wearing these same gloves) told another employee that it really bugs her when customers ask her "to do stupid shit". Pizza at blaze is always fun cause you get to choose your crust they have 3, and then you get to choose whats on top and the ingredients are better then other pizza places. After you top your pizza they cook it super fast and then your way to deliciousness. A pie could feed two or 1 hungry person, they also have salads and I believe they also do sandwiches as well. Amazing! We literally just got back from trying Blaze for the first time. There was a pretty long line to the door (dinner time!) but there was plenty of staff on hand and the line and pizza assembly went very quickly! The staff was also very friendly. There are plenty of pizzas to choose from, or you can build your own. I opted for the "Green Stripe" which comes with mozzarella, chicken, garlic, red pepper, arugula, and drizzled with pesto. Since everything is completely customizable, I also added meatballs, sausage, ricotta cheese, and onion. DELICIOUS! My hubby tried the "Meat Eater" - pepperoni, meatballs, onion, mozzarella, and red sauce. He also added feta cheese, garlic, and jalapeno. Also a great pick! The service is an assembly line similar to Chipotle. There's a guy making the dough, then your pizza is sent down the line to add toppings. At the end, they fire it in 3 minutes and you're ready to eat! Everything looked and tasted fresh. And if it couldn't get any better.... it's super affordable! $7.65 for a build your own or only $5.00 for a simple cheese. We will certainly be back (frequently). read more

I ordered the build-your-own gluten-free (cauliflower) crust to take home. While there, an employee named Yari told me that I would receive a free pizza for coming in so often. After paying for the pizza, another employee named Joseph gave me a cup for a free drink as I waited to receive my pizza. Thank you, Yari & Joseph, for the free pizza and drink. I love this place so glad they opened one in riverside! My review breaks down individual bits so y'all wanting to try it for the first time can understand what it is. Comparatively: Blaze is by far the best BYO (Build Your Own) pizza there is in the Riverside and Moval area. I never had pieology which I hear is pretty fantastic so I can't compare it to that place just yet. Choices (4/5): Unlimited choices and toppings just under $8 as well as their signature pies already made on the menu. Sauce (4/5): LOVE LOVE their white sauce! By far my favorite and they have such a delicious sauce! I normally get pesto as well to top it off and some of the workers make it look really fancy haha. Crust (4/5): If you like thin crust I'll guarantee you'll like theirs! It's super yummy and has a great texture and flavor to the pizza. Service (3/5): The workers there are pretty nice and friendly. I've always heard them welcoming customers in when they walk into Blaze. Cleanliness (4/5): The restaurant is pretty clean and everything is neat and well organized. Interior design is large and holds a lot of seating inside and there's plenty of outdoor seating as well. The food was good, but it didn't settle well with my stomach. After about an hour I could feel it and after the second hour I was spending some quality time with my toilet. I will write that off as something not being cooked all the way because of how crazy busy it was because of the crowds of people (pizza was free but I waited almost 2 hours for it- which I am in no way complaining about because I knew what I was getting in to). The service was impeccable! Despite the pressure of the large crowds, every staff member I came in contact with was super energetic and happy and friendly which I thought was just plain awesome. Anyways, I ordered the White Top and added some additions like Parmesan, course salt, chicken and sauteed onions. The flavors were so good! I loved that all the other flavors worked well together from the cream based garlic tasting sauce that packed a flavor punch to the arugula on top which added a depth of flavor and texture. It saddens me that it left me not feeling so well, but I am a forgiving person, so I will come back and give it another try using the BOGO coupon they handed out. Overall I rated 3 instead of 4 because of the tummy trouble I got. I will go back and try it again after the crowds have died down a bit and adjust my rating based on that. To the owners: you've got a good product and a great staff, keep up the good work and I'm sure you will do well at the Riverside Plaza. UPDATE: I finally got around to fixing this update, I've been back here many times since opening day and I must say I think Blaze is an awesome place to make your own pizza. I ordered a gluten free pepperoni and cheese pizza as a pick up order for a late dinner. When I got home I was surprised to say the least. Please refer to the photos to understand what I am describing. First of all, the pizza was not even a complete pizza. The photo looks like there may have been a bite or two taken out of it but it is just not a fully round pizza. When you look at the picture of the "whole" pizza you will notice light spots throughout which are spots where there is no cheese. And the cheese that is on the pizza is a thinly baked layer. Only eight pepperoni slices? It is more like an "almost" cheese and pepperoni pizza! When you look at the slice photo you will notice how thin the crust is. Literally paper thin in places. This was such a disappointing experience as a first time visitor to this location. There is just no excuse for cutting corners like this. Shameful. The flavors pop really well and it's a thin crust so wait time is just minutes. For just 6 bucks , this pizza is on point and I cannot help but smash out the whole pie. Service/Ambience This is a fast food kind of spot so the service feels appropriate. Not too over the top accommodating and their not rude either. Straight forward service. Nothing more, nothing less. The layout is the Chipotle/Subway type where you follow the employee Witt your food choosing toppings. There's plenty of seating and feels like any other sort of pizza place that includes a big oven. I had the best Blaze experience today! We came in to order 4 Make Your Own Pizzas. The staff was really friendly and surprisingly thorough with our orders. Lauren was the one who helped us with the toppings and she paid so much attention to detail, making sure that the toppings were evenly distributed on the pizza and not just bunched up at one part. We really appreciated her asking if we were satisfied with the pizzas before taking them away to cook. Billy finished off the pizzas and boxed them up neatly for us. Big fan of this place. The best way I would describe Blaze would be "a Chipotle Style Pizza place". Meaning that the follow the "build-your-own" model using high quality ingredients and healthy portions. Blaze is always pretty hopping. it's got a great atmosphere, good music, a fast and friendly staff. They basically let you put whatever you want on a pizza and BOOM! It turns out that this location scrapes the pizza oven more frequently between pizzas than the Pasadena Location, which is where I ate the burnt pizza. If the pizza oven is not scraped as often, all the burnt pizza dough sticks to the bottom of the next pizza causing your pizzas bottom to be more burnt than normal! This place is ALWAYS packed but the line moves pretty fast. They have their signature pizzas (Red Vine is my favorite) and a Chipotle-style set up that allows you to build your own pizza. I haven't had the chance to try their other signature pizzas. But I don't think they'll disappoint. There are endless toppings to choose from and yummy sauces to have drizzled on top if you want. Plus, the pizza actually comes out hot and the crust is crunchy - unlike Pieology. Since it's always busy, it's hard to find a place to sit sometimes. Dang this location was BUSY when we came, and it was like 5pm! Do people eat dinners hella early nowadays?! Either way, my pizza came out super fast. The prices did go up though, the build-your-own-pizza is now $8.30 from the beautiful price of $7.65. They do offer two-topping for $7.55 though. But I basically get all of the toppings that they offer (except pineapples), so I do have to splurge for the high-end build-your-own lol. The line was quick, the cooking was quick, and the guy spitting out the pizzas was so quick and efficient that I asked for a pesto drizzle & arugula, turned to look for seats, turned back around 2 seconds later and my beautifully pesto & arugula topped pizza was sliced and ready to go for me. Parking -- there is limited parking right in front of Blaze, but if you can venture the walk, there is lots and lots of parking to the left and to the right of the restaurant, in the massive parking lot. When you walk in, you are greeted by most if not all the employees! They are friendly, explain how it works and they build you pizza with a smile! Takes just a couple minutes and your creation is ready to devour! I would recommend adding a pre-made salad! They are wonderful!!! David was incredibly friendly and my 4 year old daughter and I LOVED the Green Stripe Signature Pizza!!! She ate half a pizza on her own! That's huge considering she is a picky eater!!!! read more
