The pizza prep lady ignored the flies until I mentioned them being on their prepped food, then she swatted a fly away while prepping my pizza and proceeded to continue to serve me with the same gloves. Disgusting. When I asked it turns out she was also the manager or "team lead" and she said it's mine and other customers fault for holding the door open too long when I entered and that I'll just have to deal with it. I used to like Blaze Pizza, but recently all of them have gone downhill. I ordered the cauliflower crust, and honestly, it's just not worth it. It's significantly more expensive than the regular dough, yet you end up with a smaller pizza and minimal toppings. To make matters worse, they don't have the Keto crust anymore, which was my main reason for coming here. The cauliflower crust they do have just isn't as good as Pieology's. i will never come back to this place, my neighbor recommended it to me and Sunday I decided to give it a try,ordered 3 pizzas to go it came out to a little over $55.00, unfortunately it was over 90 degrees outside while I was waiting for the pizzas I asked the ladies at the counter if I could get a little cup to get some water and they told me no free water that if I needed water I will have to buy a bottle. I'm not sure if a restaurant or fast food place are required by law to serve free water upon request , I will check it out, but I believe that water should not be denied to anyone specially if you have already spent money at the restaurant. Pizzas weren't that good either I expected better for the price. Wouldn't recommend it and like I said at the beginning NEVER COMING BACK, management should reconsider about the no free water rule specially if you are spending money at their place. read more

I was really torn between 3 and 4 stars here that I legit almost wanted to flip a coin to decide. Then again, would heads mean 3 stars or 4? I've tried Blaze Pizza in Cerritos, Seal Beach, and Buena Park before, and this Blaze Pizza was next closest to me. Normally, I wouldn't go all the way to South Gate just for Blaze Pizza, but I made an exception after a productive Friday morning. The Blaze Pizza in South Gate is located at the Azalea Regional Shopping Center on the northwest corner of Atlantic and Firestone. Blaze Pizza is on the easternmost end of the shopping center between Wingstop and Panda Express. I recently got an email from Blaze Pizza saying they wanted to invite me back with a $5 11" pizza of my choice since I hadn't ordered from them in a while. As if that wasn't enough of an incentive to make a return visit, I got another email the very next day saying that I could earn a mystery reward if I place an order within the next 5 days. Without hesitation, I made a mad dash towards Blaze before the Friday lunch rush. When I got in, there wasn't really a line, and a female employee greeted me. She appeared to be taking my order at the start of the counter, and I almost thought I would have had to pay first before building my pizza. No, she was just getting information in order to prepare my order. She did a great job of building my pizza and displayed plenty of dignity in the process. I didn't get her name, but Blaze Pizza should be lucky to have her as a crew member! I also asked for a cup of water as well as the $1 Fast Fire'd meatball Blaze Pizza was advertising last month. When I went to get a cup of water, I saw two dispensers with a water drop logo. I chose the one at the Sprite dispenser, but turns out it was sparkling water! I hope I didn't commit a foul, but it would have been nice to specify which was regular and which was sparkling. Also, while I was waiting for my pizza, there was a customer who seemed mentally deranged, though certainly not a threat, but I didn't feel comfortable being close to him. At first, I ordered "for here", but when the other crew member by the pizza oven was finishing up my pizza, that crew member asked if I wanted "for here" or "to go". I saw that the mentally deranged man was walking around, and so I chose "to go" in case I didn't feel comfortable eating inside, I could take the pizza back to my car to finish. I strategically sat at a table by the hand sanitizer and the napkins for ease of access during my meal. The meatball wasn't as flavorful as Blaze made it out to be, but I appreciated the generous helping of red sauce that came with the meatball. I ate the meatball first so that I could use the remainder of the red sauce on my pizza, which did add some flavor albeit minimally. The pizza was cooked to a nice crisp, though probably a minute or two away from being burnt. I enjoyed the overall flavor, but not so much the excessive grease, which in conjunction with the underwhelming meatball, almost caused me to give a 3-star rating instead. However, I felt service was better at this location than at the other ones, so I'm willing to bump my rating up to a 4. Did I mention how greasy the pizza was? Did I mention that I had to go up and get napkins after finishing each slice? That was such a nuisance, and imagine how much more it would have been had I been sitting far from the napkins in a full house. No joke, but with the number of napkins I needed for my meal, you would have thought I ate over a dozen bone-in Buffalo wings. And with ranch no less, IYKYK lol. The slices were also not cut evenly or even well for that matter. I had a difficult time discerning where the cuts were on my pizza that I'm pretty sure I pizza'd the wrong way lol. That was another hindrance that almost caused me to give 3 stars rather than 4. However, since the pizza was only for me, myself, and I, this was a non-issue, but if I were sharing with someone, then it definitely would have been lol. In spite of my grievances, I felt it was only enough to deduct one star, but not two as great service from the two crew members at the front of the house is not as common compared to pre-COVID days, especially in chains like Blaze Pizza. It was a very enjoyable lunch, and for $6 + tax, I couldn't complain, though if I were to pay full price on my next 11" pizza, I would certainly hope that it's nowhere near as greasy as this pizza. read more

The employees are nice, but the ownership abysmal. Ownership apparently changed a few months ago and to not offer water cups for your patrons is inexcusable. They force you to buy a water bottle or a drink. In my life, I've never seen a restaurant not provider water cup to force an extra purchase. The restaurant itself looks old, dingy, and pretty dirty frankly. It's probably the ownership trying to cut corners and it should be ashamed of itself. However, every time I place an order online, I double-check every category and ensure all my selections are correct. Whether I use Yelp or Uber Eats, it seems like they always drizzle BBQ sauce on my regular pizza. Who wants a pepperoni pizza with BBQ sauce? It's frustrating! Honestly the employee who attended me super nice and helpful, however the place is dirty, unorganized and can use lots of help. The trays of food choices when ordering were empty and dirty mixed with foods of different areas. They didn't have fresh deserts all looks stale and the dish where they were at was foggy and filthy as well. The beverage machine was filthy and looked very old. Service was horrible and rushed. I understand that we all have a long day but letting it out on customers is wrong. Did not get her name but we went last night and didn't give a chance to for my fiancée to choose her toppings and they chose for her. We informed the shift manager what happened and she gladly fixed it. This is solely for my experience with a take out order. I ordered through door dash. I am so glad that they have vegan crust and vegan cheese. My son is allergic to dairy but loves pizza. I confirmed with the employee of the crust and cheese were vegan and she said "yes vegan cheese and pepperoni" I was not asking about the toppings. I was fully aware that I ordered a meat product as a topping. I know it must throw the workers off that I ordered vegan products with pepperoni toppings but allergies exist. My order was expected ready by a certain time, yet I decided to be on my way before then. I am glad I did that since my pizza was being boxed as I arrived. Personally I'm not a fan of make your own restaurants much less ones that make pizza. But I was surprised that I became a fan. In no way am I saying it can compare to classic pizza. I feel this is in its own lane hence why many low ratings. The ingredients and the way the mesh well together and no limit on toppings. Their red pizza sauce is amazing. Acidic, sweet, earthy and a little tiny bit of heat. I get the regular crust and ask for extra red sauce. For cheeses I get shredded and fresh mozzarella,ricotta & extra Parmesan cheese. Meats are bacon and chorizo bits. And veggies I get artichokes, fresh basil, roasted garlic and extra mushrooms. And finish it off with olive oil drizzle and pinches of salt and oregano. I am a huge fan of the Blaze pizza chain. I appreciate how there are alternative options for their sauces besides the generic marinara sauce. The quality of the pizza including the dough and toppings are always high quality, and the staff always do a great job at how long they cook (at least for my taste, although I've had others complain from time how the bottom of their pizza is burnt a bit black). Their pizzas are oven baked, fresh. There is a 32 pepperoni pizza deal going on right now for 8.99 which is a steal and I have been thoroughly enjoying. The only downside with this location was that they ran out of smores, they offered me a brownie instead which I enjoyed, but my friend was given a cookie and it was stale. read more

California's law states any restaurant is supposed to allow you basic water but apparently they didn't have "water cups" even though there was regular cups right there on the register. March 18, 2020 Day 3 of COVID-19 quarantine with the kids at home. Feels like I'm inside an episode of AMC's The Walking Dead. If my mostly well-behaved children are already gettin' on my nerves, I can't imagine how some o' them "other" kids are doin'. FOR REAL. Our kindergartner's teacher had us chime in for a Zoom meeting this afternoon. I'd never heard about this app until yesterday when another teacher friend of mine asked me if I'd tried it. The killer was when all the kids started talking at once. Lol. Afterwards, our girls did all of their homeschool work. I decided it was time for temporarily free pizza delivery from Blaze. We ordered 4 pizzas = $38.37 (including tax, delivery is free through the end of March 2020): 2 x White Top (11-inch) (2 x $9.45) = $18.90 1 x 1 Topping Pizza (11-inch) ($7.45) = $7.45 1 x 2 Topping Pizza (11-inch) ($8.45) = $8.45 Quickly after submitting my app order, I received notification that Door Dash was to make the delivery in approximately 50 minutes later. Door Dash driver Adam arrived almost right on time with a smile on his face and the pizzas warm (not hot) out of his insulated food delivery bag. It was a nice treat. No dishes = happiest mom & wife. I absolutely love Blaze!. There is nothing better than customizing your own pizza. This location has gone hill, prior the dining area and restrooms were always dirty. Now, not sure if it's the pandemic but customer service is awful. At this moment they are ONLY taking online / app orders .. so you are not allowed to order in person. I stood in line for about 30 minutes with no movement, and no one had the courtesy to let customers know they were backed up. It's like subway where they make it your way but can get expensive depending on what toppings you add. This location was clean and well staffed from what I could tell.
