I placed an order in the drive thru for a chicken sandwich and two shakes. I was asked to wait in the pick up window. 10 minutes later I received the sandwich. 37 minutes later I had to call and ask on the status of the shakes. Great small-town burger joint. High schoolers working at the counter and yummy burgers being eaten. Blazers is named after the Gardner-Edgerton High School mascot the "Trailblazers". I tend to like my burgers cooked on a flat-top grill. You don't see that too much these days. There are still a few places in town that cook on a flat-top grill, and Blazers is one of them. The burgers at Blazer's are not the thin patties that get the delicious crispy "crust" from the grill like you might expect at Winstead's, but the Blazer burgers are very tasty. They are large so you may think twice before getting a double or not. Fries were crinkle cut and fine but not remarkable in any way. They also have waffle cut fries available. They do offer burritos and such on the menu, but I have not tried those. I did however see one of the owners? get one for what that's worth. Was looking for an old style burger place. Blazers nailed it. This is exactly what I was wanted. Local flavor ( High School team pictures on the walls). Friendly staff (Dawn, the owner is perfect dealing with customers) and of course great burgers. Wendy's said they had "Hot n Juicy" burgers. Not compared to Blazers. Will be returning for sure!! Went today with my husband and really enjoyed it. My mother in law had recommended it. I got the tuna salad sandwich and he got a burger. Both very good. They have a great menu and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Main thing that wowed me was the staff. Extremely polite and seemed to truly enjoy their jobs. I love this place! Great food in a fun atmosphere- think old school Malt Shop experience. I travel to this town a few time a month and a local turned me onto this place. Each time I have been here (about twice a month) I see the owners training the teenage staff. But not just teaching them how to take orders and make shakes. They teach them how to run the books, communicate with customers effectively and be good people. Craving a burger and guided to Blazers by yelpers! Very good burger that tasted like real meat not a bunch of fillers. The single burger is very large. The onion was not tasty, the lettuce is shredded, and the tomato was mushy, but overall it was tasty. I will ask for extra mustard and ketchup next time since they use it very sparingly. A big plus was the absence of the salt that most hamburger places use abundantly. Tater tots were okay but enough to feed three people with one order. Would I say drive from Denver to eat here? No. But I will say it's worth passing all the chain hamburger restaurants on the main drag and eat or drive thru this locally-owned hamburger stand with friendly employees! The sheriff had lunch there while I was eating, a local politician came through and was discussing issues with constituents. A great experience overall.
