Me and some friends came in to eat and I brought in McDonald's because I don't like sandwiches but still wanted to eat with my friends. We sat down and one of the managers Crystal told us we need to leave and get out because we had outside food and had no intention on buying from there and said we were not welcome even though my friend and brother were planning on buying from the restaurant. This goodcents's has been nothing but good to me! I have been to this location probably 15 times and have always gotten the right order, had friendly interactions with the staff, and thought the food tasted great. I used to work for doordash and pick up dashes from this location frequently. They were super quick and always remembered me and created conversation! I usually don't eat on the inside because the tables can be dirty but I usually take my food to go anyway so it doesn't really bother me!! read more

This is the worst delivery experience I've ever had, easily zero out of five stars. I WOULD GIVE IT A -2 if I could! If these warning signs are not an indication to not waste your time here, I don't know what will be. The food is dropped off on our front porch in 95 degree weather. No doorbell or knock on the door was bothered. Who does this with cold subs?? If we did not check the app to see the delivery status we would have NEVER known to look. (First warning sign) Next, the order we were given as you can guess at this point was completely wrong. Not a single item matched what we ordered! (Second EGREGIOUS warning sign) We call this Goodcents in Gardner, KS and speak to an employee named John, which I will add he didn't seem the most thrilled to be working or talking on the phone (third warning sign). My wife tells him that the order is all wrong and he proceeds to ask the order on the name. After a minute of sifting John has discovered our order is still sitting in shop and we were delivered the wrong order (no surprise). My wife asks if the order can be delivered and then this is when John proceeds to give my wife options of either coming to pick up the order or getting a refund back. Essentially declaring that our food sitting there in the shop would not be brought to us delivery, as WE PAID FOR THROUGH THEIR APP SERVICE! (Today is July 20th and on July 18th my wife had a c section delivery... if a customer ask for delivery there's probably A GOOD REASON why they can't/don't want to pick it up. This is the service we paid extra for.. (Fourth and sadly not the last warning sign)) At this point, I proceed to take the phone and request we have the food delivered and free of charge or store credit for the hassle and time spent/loss. John proceeded to repeat I can give you a refund or you must come get it we will not be bringing it out to you. I then requested for a refund, his name, and the name of his Manager, Bob Dalton. Told him this is worst experience I've ever had, and they should be ashamed of this customer service. He then ignored my concerns and asked for my credit card info. I provided this info to him, he told me the amount that would be refunded (WHICH WAS THE SUBTOTAL AMOUNT), I quickly said I need to confirm this doesn't sound correct. Not even 5 seconds later, JOHN HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME. (Fifth warning sign!) He in fact did try to refund the SUBTOTAL AMOUNT and not the full charges paid for the delivery, etc. (that we could not get although we paid for) (Sixth warning sign? I've lost track) I called John back to notify him of the amount to be refunded to our card, he confirmed that it would be changed to the total amount and he simply 'misspoke', he then continued to hang up the phone without any confirmation on my end!! (Seventh and debatable final) P.S my wife has ordered Doordash as I write this review and I took the time to share my newly horrific experience with the delivery driver and asked if any of this sounded like protocol, he quickly turned his face up and asked, "why would they not deliver the food if it's sitting there". We all come to later find out Goodcents just recently requested for a Doordash delivery to go past my house and to Spring Hill.. what's the difference here? IT'S NOT ON GOODCENTS' DIME OR TIME! (Eighth warning sign?) It's truly unfortunate Gardner does not have any other sub shop options. ANY DECENT SUB SHOP PLEASE COME TO GARDNER, WE DESERVE BETTER! I tried to give a call to their corporate office which looks to be out of De Soto, KS. Unfortunately, I was given a voicemail, (which did not surprise me in the least) so I took to this review to share me tragic experience that has confirmed I will not spend any further money at a Goodcents establishment. Most of the time a sub shop is a sub shop. But, the Mr. Goodcents shop here in Gardner is a little different for a few reasons. The staff here is always very friendly and helpful. I have never had a poor customer service experience here. The restaurant is clean and tidy. And finally, and most importantly, during COVID-19 they have taken precautions very seriously. You must wear a mask (over your nose) for them to serve you. And they have a free standing temperature machine that must scan your wrist upon entering. I really appreciate the precautions that this business takes not only for their customers, but also for their employees. I always enjoyed getting a quick sandwich to go here before. But, now I will make sure to spend a few more dollars here. Great job to the owners and managers. read more

Not Worth The Money Anymore ! ! Went to Goodcents yesterday for lunch, I usually order a 16" Penny Club which I did yesterday. I first noticed they raised there price to $11.99 for a sub sandwich. So as they were cutting the meat I noticed the slices were so thin it didn't even cover the bread. Sorry but I'm not paying $12 for a vegetable sandwich I expected meat at least 3 good slices! So I won't be taking my business to Goodcents in Gardner anymore, I'll drive a bit further and go to Jimmy Johns which puts tons of meat on their sandwiches and the price is less. I liked the fast, friendly service with no skimping on ingredients. My sandwich tasted great, with plenty of tasty meat and fresh toppings on fresh delicious bread. The promotions (like the current $4 8" twisted sandwich special) and punch cards keep the price reasonable. The dining area was spacious and clean with good background music. Very nice. read more

Unreal. ordered a water and a drink the employee rang us up for two waters on accident no blame on him and the manager or owner watches the whole thing. Then we proceed to get a water and a fountain drink then he proceeds to be a dickhead and yell at two 16 year old kids that did nothing wrong and then rang us up for 2 drinks and says "if you're going to do that go to subway" so I proceed to still get my water my friend gets a fountain drink. So I proceed to after words go up to the manager and let him know what happened and he still was being a dick so we left. don't go to this place and please don't give this man any money he should go bankrupt for his actions. read more

Let me start by saying great food. Always fresh. Always made right. Now for the bad. I've had to walk out twice during the lunch and dinner hours because it's taking too long. The problem is they process a lot of phone/internet orders right in front of you. So while you are standing in line waiting, they're making 5 internet orders in front of you. Logistically it doesn't work. If you go at 12pm or 6pm, be prepared to stand in line for a while. read more

Their delivery driver constantly blocks the only way in and out to all the housing north of the store. I'd flatten all his tires if I wouldn't get in trouble. Well most of it from my opinion. Here. Their bread is thinner (much thinner) , but with more toppings. Now. Let me be the first to tell you. Remember: less is more. When I began eating. Staff needs to change gloves and wash there hands when they are playing with their face and hair that is gross.

Every time I call this place they slam down the phone and say HOLD ON!! I call about once a month to get lunch delivered, and for the past 6 or 7 months every time I call they say..I shut delivery down...we don't have enough people!
