I ordered the Lenny Lipshitz aka roast beef bagel sandwich with garlic schmear lettuce tomato on a plain bagel. The cream cheese overpowered the sandwich and the consistency made it messy. 4 stars for the bagels on their own but charging an extra 50 cents for some seemed a bit steep. read more

Blazing Bagels calls itself "The best bagels East of New York." Hm. That covers all of Europe and Asia, which I might give them for exuberant hyperbole, but... well, I don't mean to be that guy, but did you know Montreal is East of New York? That said, I *do* think Blazing Bagels serves up the best bagels in the region -- or at least, the best I've found. Many agree: They provide the bagels for other restaurants and grocery stores, by way of their baking operation. I generally have lox and schmear with my bagel. They used to have a double portion of lox option on the menu, but don't any more. I remain as much of a fish eater as ever, but again, I don't want to be that guy and try to order "off the menu." I give out my stars on how far out of the way I think you should go. Five means nationally; four is within the region; three is within a city; two means down the street; and one star means you're in front of a place's door and can't move. As I said above, I think Blazing Bagels is the best in the region. A solid four stars. read more

The employees that work here are seriously amazing. Everyone is super kind, helpful and has a smile on their face. The food is consistently great and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I have mixed feelings about this place. Bagels and cream cheese is 5 star, hands down. But the few other options I've had is tricky. One time I got the Asiago cheese dog, the wrap was sooooo chewy I couldn't even chew it to eat it and threw it out. Literally I could've choked it was so chewy. Then I ordered a egg sandwich, and the egg portion was maybe at best 50% of the bagel and super thin. Next time I ordered the chicken sandwich and paid extra for added bacon, didn't get the bacon and I waited so long for my sandwich and was super hungry, I didn't say anything and ate my food ., in fairness, it was lunch time and very busy.but bummed I paid for bacon, and didn't get it. So I cracked a tooth on my bagel at this location. Some sort of desiccated piece of garlic was in the spread. (how do you even manage that?) It was one of my front teeth so it left a noticeable chip and I had to head to the dentist. I did everything I could get a manager to call me but it wasn't easy. When one finally did, he was courteous and said he'd look into it and apologized. I tried to reach out to him several times after that with no response. Pretty disappointing because I loved this place. Had they just been courteous all the way through I would have probably chanced it and continued eating here. read more

Boy, was I surprised to find they have GLUTEN FREE bagels?! My kids were in town and we ordered online to get a quick breakfast. I totally thought I'd be eating yet another backup granola bar, but no. It was so wonderful! I had the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and with the gluten free bagel, it was delicious! It was warm and chewy, unlike other gluten free bagels that are so dry. I almost forgot I was eating gluten free! I highly recommend trying them, even if you aren't celiac. Okay, best bialy ever!!! This is our family's weekly breakfast treat...my daughter and I love the Zoe Zuckerman (especially when heavy handed lox guy is working!). My husband has tried almost every craft sandwich option...there were no survivors. Serious inhalation! I also love that they have lots of customization options, including my favorite: open-face! Unlike my husband who can unhinge his jaw and nearly consume these massive sandwiches in a single assault, I need smaller bites and prefer to savor everything. The bagels are amazing - 5 stars! The breakfast bagel sandwiches were a huge disappointment (the bagel is the only thing that keeps it from being a 1 star). The egg and ham were cold and the cheese wasn't even half melted. We were there on a weekday around 10 and there weren't many people in line, so there should be no excuse for trying to quickly serve without fully cooking. You're going to have to take it from this New York Yankee -- this place absolutely KNOCKS THE BAGEL OUT OF THE PARK! First visit to Seattle, visiting friends in Samammich, and I decided to treat the family to bagels. Out comes the Yelp app and I see the nearest bagel place is 9 miles away in Redmond. Wow, there really are no Jews in Samammich, I think. I walk in and I'm like WHOAH! In 45 years of bagel noshing from DC to NY to LA to Dallas, I've never witnessed a bagel place like this. It was as if A-Rod returned to Seattle and opened a bagel shop on steroids. It's a huge industrial building that houses a full bakery where they make 40 different varieties of bagels. And I'm talking cool varieties like French Toast, chocolate chip and cheesy pretzel in addition to dozens of others. The bagels themselves are huge and round with actual holes in the middle. The hole is the entire point of the bagel and when I see a bagel with a little sliver in the middle or no hole at all, I cringe in disappointment and Moses rolls over in his grave. I picked up a dozen bagels and the cashier told me to grab two more so a baker's dozen here is 14 bagels. I bought some whitefish salad, egg salad, and lox cream cheese out of which the lox cream cheese was top of the heap. The whitefish salad was a bit too salty and the Rice Krispie treat somehow went 0 for 4 with the kids but we were still slugging well over .700 on the day. You hand select the bagels on your own while waiting on the Mendoza line and it moves quickly. Bottom of the ninth line: Great bagels, great selection, great service = Bagel Triple Crown! Trust me. The only Grand Slam you'll find in Seattle isn't at Safeco Field -- it's at Bagel Blazers. read more

This place clean, fun atmosphered, and different. A breath of fresh air. No where close to traditional chain restaurants. However their bagels did not stand out to me. they were just as plain of a Nagle you can get from the grocery store. Only thing is that they are fresh and made in house. Pretty damn good bagel sandwiches, that's for sure. I got the Cheddar, Bacon, Chive (photo uploaded) bagel with turkey, lettuce, red onions, and garlic/herb schmear and it was delightful. We sat outside and enjoyed that many of the patrons brought their dogs. Love that it's dog-friendly. Their bagel seemed fresh and definitely had a lot of flavor. Dear Blazing Bagels, PLEASE put a location in the South end!! Pretty please!!! Found this place while in Redmond for training. It's a little bit out of the way but worth the search! So many choices of bagels - self service, which I LOVE. Yummy cream cheeses - my favorite has been the sun-dried tomato (the chive was a little bitter for me, but probably because it was fresh). You can get a small container for 1 or 2 bagels or a larger container. The bagels are amazing. Unlike my local grocery store bagels, these are actually fresh the next day (if stored properly). My favorites are the salt bagel and the bacon, cheddar and chive ones. Can't wait to go back to Redmond for training again so I can stop yby. read more

Set in a warehouse location of Redmond, this bagel shop has got the goods and they are fresh, hot, and delicious. I love the fact you come in and just grab a little sheet of paper and Mark what you want. So easy, not much waiting in line and it's fast and easy. The breakfast sandwich is the way to go. I've got a weird taste thing with sausage and sometimes it just doesn't taste right to me, but they've somehow eliminated that weird taste from my taste buds. read more

There is nothing better than starting your day with a bagel from Blazing Bagels! I'm impressed with the endless amount of bagel options and schmears. They have sweet and savory - for instance, french toast, blueberry, cinnamon roll, pesto, sun dried tomato, pretzel, everything, and so on and so forth. The only I can comment on are the pesto, sun dried tomato, and everything - they're delicious and the pesto is by far my favorite and with garlic and herb cream cheese. I don't know what it is about these bagels but they are pretty perfect. Nice amount of chew, texture, and toasty crunchy finish. PS: The background story of how this place came to fruition is pretty endearing if you ask me. Plus, it's a local place with so much more personality than those other bagel chains. read more

If you want great bagels and coffee this is the place! We especially like their chocolate chip and everything bagels. If you visit, plan to wait for anything that has to be prepared. I love the bagels and food here but the last 3 times I've came they mess up my order every time or if I order online and I get there right after I order it's cold... today I came in ordered a plain bagel dog but I changed my mind right before I paid the girl at the counter said she'll make sure she'll let the cook in the back know I changed my order. Since moving from New Yawk, we've missed our H&H Bagels (lox and cream cheese for Helen, cream cheese and jelly for me). Luckily for us there is a local bagel place near work that comes close. Blazing Bagels certainly aims to please - making fresh bagels every day in a wide and unique variety. Snickerdoodle, Jalepeno, French Toast, Cheddar & Chive, Asiago. I also love that they have a sense of humor. The acrimony toward the Redmond city council stems from a legal battle. Unfortunately, Blazing Bagels is poorly located on a dead end street in a corner of Redmond that's full of small manufacturing and warehouse buildings, so the owner hired a guy to wear a giant sandwich board and wave at passing drivers on nearby, heavily trafficked SR-202. The city council issued a cease and desist order, which Blazing Bagels fought on the grounds that human signage advertising is allowed to other types of commerce and organizations - such as signs for open houses, car washes, and political candidacy. Needless to say, Blazing Bagels won their fight, and I imagine this sign over their door went up soon after (see pics). read more

I've been coming here for years, and it used to be a wonderful semi-secret place to get a good bagel. Changes in procedures lately, combined with ridiculous prices, drive this low review. The bagels themselves? Still good. The last few times I've ordered an egg sandwich, the egg wasn't warm all the way through. Cold egg in a bagel sandwich = . Finally: prices. Just went up again. My son ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and bacon today. That one item cost $7.95. For two bagel sandwiches and a Gatorade at $20+, I can no longer afford to eat here. Bagel Heaven??? Man..this place got all sorts of bagels. I wanted to eat everything, but settled with the jalapeno cheddar bagel with jalapeno cream cheese. mmmm...so good. I also ate half of my sister's breakfast bagel, also good. It was a lil busy when we got there and the workers who was toasting and making the bagel sandwiches seem flustered. I have been a blazing bagles fan since we moved to the Plateau about 4 years ago. These are fantastic bagles but they don't pretend to be NY "style". Why? Well, you can ask Dennis (owner) and find out, he is there nearly every day... or I'll just tell you, people here don't prefer chewy NY Style bagles, so he went with soft and delicious because, well, that's what people preferred when he did taste tests. I am baffled that people find this place difficult to find. You turn at the light between the gas station and whole foods and the road basically dead ends in their parkinglot. read more

A little slice of the east coast out here in the PNW! My husband and I were both born and raised in the northeast. As a transplant I've really been missing some things that are native to my home. Hard rolls, a good bagel, a black and white cookie, fresh squeezed orange juice. They've got everything an east coast girl in a west coast world could ever want. I have never ordered a thing here that wasn't amazing. I wish I could give them an extra star for being the only place in the PWN that sells Black and White cookies. Please, please, if you go, order one with your bagel, sometimes they keep them behind the counter, but just ask and they'll get you one. You won't regret it. read more
