French Bakery is generally not my top go to dessert place. I never felt the great about their service or even pastries or coffee in there. However this one flavour in the Redmond City Centre location really blew my mind. This was likely a new and limited flavour - Uber and Coconut. I kid you not - this is actually really good. I loved it ! If you are in the area and you crave something sweet, do try this out while they still have it. Speaking about ambience - it was bit lackluster but I will overlook that. read more

I got a Croque monsieur with fig butter! It came with a side salad (optional) with balsamic vinegar $15. It was 10/10 very crispy and the perfect ratio of ham to cheese. I also got a Carmel cinnamon banana crepe which was delicious, just a bit pricy at $15.50 for a regular size crepe. Service was quick & everyone was nice. I'm not a big sweet person like that, but I came here today and I got a crêpe with strawberries and bananas cause that was what I was craving, and it was really good. I got it with a side of sparkling apple juice, which was very delicious. I enjoyed it so much. The service was really good and I'm very glad that the girl I took my order accommodated with my request of having strawberries and bananas with the crêpe that I wanted, which is very good. I went to the French bakery on a Sunday morning, in fact it was yesterday morning. Seem like a fast food environment more so than a friendly actual bakery. I don't think anybody who is French actually work there. I had a cuppa tea with a chocolate eclair that had a chocolate cream inside, it was tasty but very sweet and that is not something I was looking for. The French bakery has one of the best bread and coffees in the Redmond Town center. It has ample Seating available both indoors and outside plus large shopping mall parking. Service staffs are friendly and knowledgeable about their pastures. Ambience is anywhere from casual to family friendly atmosphere. We got a coffee and savory crepe. Service and food were okay. Crepes were very bland, and lacked flavor. I had requested cutting them into halfs, and was not done. Also, the lady at the counter seemed mad at me for asking a plate for my takeout order. I had to explain that I had a toddler who was hungry and insisted eating there. Love the jalapeño cream cheese Croissant here. Probably the best in the area! I love the vibe of this place. It's usually pretty busy in the morning so I prefer staying outside. Used to be a huge French Bakery fan but sadly the quality has gone downhill. Pastries are now very pricy in the $6-8 range, and the beef hotdog croissant pastry I got was totally cold and not flaky at all. For a $34 lunch stop for 3 people, this was pretty good. Stopped by as a part of Mother's Day brunch and enjoyed our bakery goodies and drinks. For food: ordered the Spinach and Feta Croissant, a slice of mango cake, and a bear claw. All thoroughly enjoyed each of our treats. Just wish there was an option to warm them up. For drinks: ordered the Cafe Latte Mocha, Passionfruit Tropical Ice Tea, and Cappuccino Viennesse. Viennesse was dark and subtly sweet, Ice Tea was refreshing, and Mocha was sweet. Service was a bit slow as there were only two people taking orders/working the register. The place was pretty packed, but there was enough outside seating around the mall area and right outside the restaurant to accomodate Overall, would love to come back. Overall not a great bakery. I've been here a couple times and I've always been pretty disappointed with their goods. For this visit it wasn't to busy, but I know during lunch on the weekends there can be a line out the door. We were craving some pastries so we decided to pick up a chocolate croissant, a coconut rose cake, and pistachio éclair. Each of the pastries were pretty bad, all tasted slightly plasticly and stale while lacking that exceptional pastry quality. The éclair and croissant were the best out of the three, but the cake was so terrible we threw half of it away. The prices were also ridiculous, $7 for a terrible tiny little cake? We also decided to order 2 sandwich's which were actually both decent, but nothing crazy. The service for this visit was pretty good, but the workers seem pretty annoyed. They have limited seating thats always taken, and the tables look like they've never been cleaned. I'm only giving this place 3 stars because there was nothing wrong with our visit. But overall I'd definitely recommend skipping and spending your money at a better bakery in the area. read more

Came here to pick up freshly baked goods to go. This location is inside the town center. Being from out of state and visiting our granddaughters, I do remember coming here one summer when the girls played in the water jet area, never knowing there is a French Bakery there. When in town, we normally go to The French Bakery in Kirkland, but was sad to recently know they are now closed/out of business. :( Anyhow, hubby and I adore going into any bakery smelling fresh pastries. It's so comforting. We ordered ham and cheese croissants, chocolate croissants and a bear claw. Took them home to share with family and ate these with our hot morning beverage. All was so delicious. I wish the ham and cheese croissants though was a little skimpy; could've used more meat and cheese. When in Washington state, The French Bakery is our go to for fresh pastries! read more

This location is fairly consistent with other The French Bakery locations around the area. Pastries are a bit on the sweeter side (the mille feuille in particular) but still good. Friendly service despite it getting a bit busy around lunchtime. Docking some brownie points because I think there was some cross-contamination with the turkey meat and some nuts :/ I know that cross-contamination is possible in this nut world but I wouldn't have expected to get an allergic reaction from a turkey and cheese croissant, as cross-contamination rarely happens. read more

Not too shabby. I visit The French Bakery at Redmond Town Center with my boxing buddies after our session, as this is one of the few coffee shops walking distance to us. Not exactly French, but it's more like French-inspired. So expect croissants, cakes, crepes and coffee here. I like to try something new every time I'm here, as they feature a lot of different baked goods. It's definitely not for those who are watching their carb count. In my most recent visit, I tried the guava and cheese pastry, which was solid. I love guava, so nice to know they have this flavor here. Coffee is fine. It's on the pricier side, especially compared to another coffee spot we sometimes go to after boxing. Staff is always friendly and welcoming when we visit. Just note that this bakery gets busy, especially on Sunday mornings. For our large group, we're always lucky to snag seats and tables around 9am, but soon after we arrive, people are in search for seating. However, there is outdoor seating. The French Bakery isn't a bad option if you want a pastry and are at the Redmond Town Center. read more

I was skeptical at the reviews for this bakery, and wanted to see for myself. Unfortunately, I would have to agree with the other reviewers who gave low ratings. The pastries were heavy and thick, not flaky and light as you would expect. The only thing decent thing was the coffee and it was a fair price so that's the reason I did give two stars. I also ordered a croissant sandwich that was served to me burned on the outside and the cheese wasn't even melted on the inside. It was so unappealing. I couldn't believe somebody actually served it to me. I did return it and they replaced it with another one, but just kind of surprised at the lack of quality, the egg texture was rubbery to me.The croissants were so bad...The frozen croissants from Trader Joe's are way better, but Besides that if you want the ambience, there's a lot of excellent European type bakeries within a few blocks of this one that I would give 10 stars to. read more

To be honest, I'm definitely not a fan. This is probably a high 2 star but I'm rounding up just because :) A group of us came here after a spin class and wanted to grab something to eat. We originally wanted to go to the pancake house but it was a 1 hour wait so we opted for here instead. It's also busy but we still got our food in a reasonable amount of time. We got the croque madame panini and a veggie quiche (~$19). The panini came with a side salad and was pretty much like a egg, ham and cheese sandwich, not an actual croque madame I was thinking of, so a little disappointed in that but it was standard. The quiche, however, was bad. They warmed it up for us cause we dine in and they literally just microwave it because it came back with very soft, rubbery crust. It was not good. I ordered a birthday cake from here for my son's birthday. The staff were super helpful with guiding me through my options and being upfront with the prices, which I thought were super reasonable. The sales associate placed my order and provided both a paper and an electronic copy of the order. I liked that I had the option to pick up the cake at the Redmond location or other locations in the area. Pick up was a breeze, and I was allowed to look at the cake before the box was sealed. My son loved the Black Forest cake. It was the perfect balance of cherry and chocolate. It was eaten in 3 days. Son raved how moist and rich it was. We'll definitely order from here again. Got a sandwich here for takeout to bring on a hike with me, and it was quite a good sandwich! We came early in the morning to order, and they were unfortunately out of the baguettes that the sandwiches usually come one. However, they gave us their recommended choice of sliced bread instead which I forgot the name of, which ended up actually being really good! In the times I have visited this cafe, my experience has been primarily average. Today however, I write to point out something off. I asked for a ham and provolone croissant, warmed up and to-go. The warming press was in view of me and I watched it as I waited. Within this process there may have been a mistake of some sort as one of the employees made an odd look to another employee whilst holding the croissant with tongs after pulling it out. They then went out of view and put another one in for a short time. The same employee asked if I wanted it to go (small mistake, no worries). When she handed it to me, I could feel the croissant being room temperature rather than hot as it should have been. I didn't ask any further questions and left instead. Overall, the place has a decent atmosphere, though every time I come in i'm not sure how my food/drink's going to turn out. This is more of a 3.5 ratings. I normally go to the French Bakery for their double baked almond croissant only, which is amongst the best there is. Occasionally, I pick up a slice of cake. I've tried their mango cake, which can be inconsistent, probably because of the mangoes' seasonality. Sometimes, there's just not enough flavor. This time I chose the blueberry cream cake. The glaze at the top is surprisingly delicious. I The bits of blueberries in the cream is visible but the flavor is not very strong. It could be better even though it still taste good. I've had their coffees here too. Quite tasty. When you eat in house, it's served in ceramic cups. This location is newer and quite nice. Along the main corridor of Redmond Town Center, it's easy to find with plenty of parking. read more

Stopped by on a whim without checking reviews and thought this was more of a solid 4 than a 3.5. It was a quiet morning on a weekday and there were a steady stream of customers although not terribly busy. Lots of seating options and they even had a high chair which was nice. We picked food from the case - good variety although I don't think the bakery is on site. Got two croissants and a quiche. Also the toddler munched on the free sample bread and there were water cups available. The pastries were good - not the best but better than a grocery store or coffee shop without an on site bakery. I suspect they're made and distributed to the various chains. Wish they had a mini toaster oven to warm things up (come on, even Starbucks does) because they microwaved the croissants and quiches which resulted in not ideal pastry. Looked like they serve sandwiches and such so there should be a kitchen on site. Verdict - would get again for to go, reasonably priced pastries.
