Great place to grab a quick bite, solid breakfast sandwich compared to doing drive-thru, with plenty of parking and seating outside/inside.

The vegetable dishes were excellent: flavorful, well-prepared, and apparently packed with enough fiber to move several years of unresolved business through my digestive system. By the end of the evening, my bowels had entered what I can only describe as "Super Slide" mode. This was not ordinary diarrhea. This was an express-lane evacuation. Waste did not merely leave my body; it checked out early, skipped the front desk, and fled the premises without saying goodbye. The food was delicious, the staff was attentive, and my colon emerged feeling lighter, cleaner, and emotionally available. Highly recommended for vegetarians, food lovers, and anyone whose lower intestine needs a firm but flavorful motivational speech.

There's a menu section that filters all their items based on dietary restrictions, so it was pretty easy to find items that fit her dietary needs. The aguachile was fresh and bursting with flavor, the chilies were really well-seasoned, but the duck was the real standout. So well-seasoned, tender, and that cranberry sauce?! Did not expect to like it as much as I did. We also got some mocktails which were yummy and hit the spot! Docking off one star just because the price was pretty steep for the portion, but otherwise was a nice spot.

The service was top-notch--the staff was incredibly attentive and caring. It was so sweet and pleasant to receive a birthday congratulation along with a complimentary dessert from the team. The food was absolute perfection! Everything we ordered was prepared flawlessly, and the steak was a true masterpiece--it literally melted in my mouth. A huge respect and thank you to the chefs for their incredible talent! But the sweetest surprise was waiting for us at home. I placed a to-go order for a portion of two potato sticks, and when I opened the bag at home, I found they had given us 4 pieces instead, plus an amazingly delicious chocolate brownie! That level of generosity and attention to detail is simply wonderful. We will definitely be returning to JOEY Bellevue again and again. I highly recommend visiting this spot!

Although it's really hard to pick a favorite dish, I'd have to say that you absolutely must save room for the Apple galette (but be warned-it takes a VERY long time). Seriously, plan your meal around it and expect them to take 45 minutes to an hour to bring it to you (at lunchtime on a weekday). We were on holiday, so we had flexibility. My second favorite thing to eat was the lobster pasta, followed by the tempura shrimp, and bang bang chicken. They did give us a welcome glass of "champagne," but it was completely un drinkable. The service was extraordinarily slow, but this was probably a function of them being understaffed and everyone was very nice. I say this more so that you can plan accordingly and adjust expectations than to be hypercritical. I should also note that we split plates, so you are seeing half portions.

Almost 20 years later and now married, I wanted to bring my husband here and share this experience. Of course, we both had a great time. The atmosphere, the service, the food. Again, all wonderful! Parking is in the garage, and they validate. We got the Torched Salmon Belly (be sure to eat the leaf it comes on! it's part of the experience). Delicious! 10/10 would get again, mostly because the Shiso leaf was something I've never had before. The Grilled Octopus was wonderful and not chewy at all. Loved the Greek lemon caper pepperoncini vinaigrette that came with it. I read that a lot of others were recommending the Deviled Eggs, which we also got and enjoyed. I think one set was salmon and the other was tuna. You honestly cant go wrong with either. I feel like getting the Coconut Creme Pie is a must here. I love coconut, and oddly enough really dislike pies, so this wouldn't be something I would normally get. But with a presentation like this, how can you pass it up? I do remember getting this back in 2008 and loving it, and it seems my tastebuds haven't changed. 10/10! Get this! But only if you love coconut.

For two, we got a few appetizers (ahi tuna poke, crab cakes, raw oysters) and an entree to split (Jambalaya). Service was very attentive, checking in after each meal and even pre-splitting the entree which was great. Overall though, the appetizers failed to impress. The highlights of this meal were probably the raw oysters followed by the Jambalaya, which meant the rest of the meal left something to be desired. 3/5 stars for the average meal but +1 star for service.

The entire team works so flawlessly together. The food. We started with the bread service which was $12. Honestly, Id pass on this. Its nothing special. Second was the roasted bone marrow - Again, pass. At $28 there wasn't much marrow. I mean, it was good, don't get me wrong! But I wouldn't order it again. Ahi Tartare - Very good dish with a lot of flavor! My Ribeye was incredible! My husband got the same thing and he too was over the moon. We ended with the Bananas Foster. Any time a place makes Bananas Foster tableside, you know its going to be amazing, and this was! It's fun to watch them prepare it, and even more fun to enjoy it. We will definitely be back. We are eyeing a few different apps and that Wagyu Beef "Long bone" Rib Eye for two for next time! Also, this is a great spot to use your Amex Resy Credit. This last dinner we had was very disappointing and surprisingly so unlike John Howie it used to be. We went for our anniversary/birthday and we brought an out of town guest with us. We ordered: Ceasar salad A bottle of Big Farm Wine Tartare Brussel sprouts Lobster mashed potato 2 order ribeye cap Long bone ribeye 2 filet mignon Few things: Our server didn't even ask oh, are we celebrating anything today, like any other restaurant Secondly, we asked for medium rare to close to medium. Our Long bone came out well done. The manager was about to serve that to us. Until we said, um...that's not medium rare or medium. You worked at steakhouse, and you should know what medium rare look like. The rest of the steaks were more medium than medium rare, but we were hungry already. With the leftover, the server put in on the floor?? It's food, the carpet is dirty and they've stepped on by many ppl from wherever they came from. We moved it to the table, and they moved it again to the floor. That drove all of us crazy. Other side notes: We noticed, they don't clean up the crumbs etc in between from the table anymore. And we saw when they cleaned up other tables, they just sweeped them to the floor, we saw old napkins on the floor when new guests arrived. We do not expect these from John Howie Steakhouse, and especially when you paid $1000 in one sitting. Btw, we told the manager about not putting leftover food on the floor. Our server chased us on the way out and asked if she did something wrong. She was surprised that the leftover food is not supposed to be on the ground. Ps: got no complimentary bday or anniversary deserts. They said no. But i saw 2 other tables got things not from desserts menu with candle on it. Interesting.
