Potbelly is a pretty decent sandwich shop. Definitely one of the better chain sandwich shops and super high quality. We decided to stop in for lunch yesterday since we haven't been to Potbelly in a while. I had decent expectations knowing I remembered liking Potbelly before. We came in at noon and it wasn't busy at all, so they took our order immediately. It was super hot inside the shop, and also really smokey from the oven they toast their sandwich's on. Every sandwich here is toasted and hot after they put meats and cheeses on, which I do enjoy. Our food was all delicious, they had a little bit of a confusion with online orders and our sandwich, but it was quickly resolved. Ordered dinner in tonight from Potbelly. I used their website to place my order. The basic ordering was easy but checkout was frustrating. I put in all my information and then was forced to create an account which then caused me to have to renter info. This created a delay in getting our food. Aside from that frustration, our food arrived and we ate. Our orders were correct and the sandwiches were good. The sandwich had a lot of meat on it and the flavor was satisfying. Never having eaten a Potbelly sandwich, I was curious, having passed by several times. Checked out their menu and thought I'd give them a try. I ordered the 6" Cubano. No shortage of meat on the sandwich but not much in the way of condiments on the sandwich. I did request no pickles which was respected but only a bit of mustard was put on. I mean, is this place like "Jersey Mike's" and you're supposed to tell them "Mike's Way", only here it would be "Potbelly's Way"? I don't know. I'm guessing this being my first time. I used to work at Mod Pizza so I know the struggle of working in a fast paced environment. With that being said I also know the critical importance of a clean space in order to give out clean food. Everything was disgusting! The line was filthy with meat in some of the veggies (WHICH IS CROSS CONTAMINATION!!) and food all over the line! It takes maybe 20 seconds to wipe it down..and almost every table was filthy! I understand it gets busy but there is plenty of time to buss tables and clean the line after each rush. I couldn't even use the restroom from how much grime and dirt there was. This whole location is a health hazard and I really hope they make more of an effort to make sure they are working in a clean environment as well as a good experience for their customers. read more

This morning we got a call from the manager of Potbelly Redmond who informed us the Bothell manager had an emergency, but the Redmond shop would fulfill our order & deliver it to our door. I've been to this location twice and both times, the service was friendly and the sandwich was fantastic! As soon as I enter, I am greeted with a genuine kindness, and asked how I can be helped. I know this seems pretty much what should be expected but hey, compared to other fast food places I don't always get welcomed this way so it means a lot to me. I usually order The Wreck, and this location does it very well. They include all the ingredients with no mistakes, and the bread is perfectly toasted. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, and there was even outdoor seating which was very pleasant to sit at while I enjoyed my sandwich. I'll be coming back when I'm in the Redmond area! read more

I called in an order for pick up and got the pizza sandwich and the Italian both on multigrain. When I got there in like 10-15 minutes, it was already waiting for me. The total for two sandwiches was $12.65 which is not bad at all! My original thought was, "I will eat half of each sandwich and then save the other halves for tomorrow." However, when I got the sandwiches, they were smaller than I was expecting. One sandwich was smaller than the length of a Comcast Xfinity remote (it was the only thing I had in arm's reach). Combining the smaller sandwich sizes with my hunger at the time, I ended up eating both sandwiches. However, they were very good! Pizza Sandwich ($5.65) - I love meat so I had to get sandwiches with a lot of meat. However, the mushrooms really added a lot of variety in the taste. Italian ($5.85) - I preferred this more than the pizza sandwich as it tasted more like a sandwich with the lettuce and the tomato. I liked the taste of the meats in this sandwich more. Another thing: on the bottom of my receipt, there was a coupon for $2 a sandwich or a salad that expired in two days. Potbelly re-opens after months of closure. I was lured back with a coupon after my previous bad experience here. Well nothing has changed. Online order placed at 11:45, the website says ready by 12:07. I show up at 12:10 and wait. and wait. and wait until 12:27 then finally asked where my order was. With attitude I was told they were very busy. I had to inform the lady that my sandwich was sitting on the back counter along with all of the other to-go orders they failed to bag up and set out on the pick up shelf. So the once warm toasted sandwich was stone cold, sitting on back counter being ignored for 20 minutes. No apology, no acceptance of their neglect. This is a long (updated) review update but I feel it needs to be said. My company continues to cater our employee lunches from this shop once a month without fail. Word to the wise: Their online ordering system is by far the WORST I have ever encountered and speaking to "corporate" does no good. Our order today was no exception. I tried to order online but that went nowhere. Why do I even bother!? I emailed it to the shop (the way I usually do, now that I'm a first name basis with the shop manager) and when I didn't hear back, I called to follow up. Spoke to a "Joe" who confirmed receipt and ensured our large order would be ready for pickup this afternoon. Turns out, that message never went any further than my phone conversation and when I arrived, I knew there was an issue. The line was out the door at 11:30am as it always is but John rallied and got my order completed - 90 minutes later. The shop manager (John) and the worker bees are nothing but friendly and always helpful. They are really the ONLY reason I continue doing business here. Other than the "fantastic" food everyone in our office raves about. If that wasn't the case, I would have ended things a long time ago! read more

Potbelly's is a perfect solution for lunch or dinner. I have tried the chicken and the Italian. There is a wide variety of toppings. The magic is in the Mayo... Suggest you get your sandwiches with hot if you can handle the heat. I tried their skinny's but wanted a bit more. Once my sandwich was burnt at the edges. They fixed it right away without any annoying questions. They have great breakfast sandwiches too. Suggest the egg and sausage. It's much better and filling than other fast food joints. Used to love coming to this location. I made the mistake of saying everything but mayo/mustard. She placed the hot peppers and I panicked and said can you just remove them. She gave me the most annoyed look and removed them. Then her name badge kept grazing all the ingredients and I mentioned that her badge kept touching the sandwich. Garbage manager! Ordered online through the app, then drove 25min (one way) through traffic during my lunch break to pick up some food, only to get there to see that they are closed. There was no indication that they were closed or my order was automatically shifted to tomorrow. The manager made the entire situation worse. I get it you're closed, you can't make a sandwich today, but when I gave him the opportunity to make the situation better, he couldn't be bothered. His lack of empathy was appalling. After a movie I decided to try Potbelly out. The initial impression was good, very inviting. You go to the back to order which is a little odd--I think they must want you to check out all the cookies and such. They allow you to customize your sandwich the way you want. Since the weather was kind of miserable I decided on a meatball sub. I had heard their shakes were good and the salted caramel sounded great, but they ran out ice cream. The sandwich was good, both the meatballs and the bread were top notch. It could have used a little more cheese and tomato sauce, but still tasty. Stopped by for a quick bite as dinner two times so far . There was just one person ahead. 3 staff onsite , all of them seems in early 20s. They messed up the very basic order of sandwich. They quickly fixed it and were friendly. But this place needs more attention/supervision . The tables get clean more often, tables are dirty and greasy. the floor is sticky and smell of old/burnt oil is unpleasant. I saw McDonalds way cleaner than this place. read more

Catering order - HORRIBLE SERVICE I order a lot of catering for our office, but this has been my worst ever experience!!! Delivery was meant to happen at 11:15am. At 11:25am I called the store to find out when to expect the delivery. I was told that they are very busy and that my delivery will be there "soon". They said that they tried calling all their customers with deliveries going out today, but couldn't call all of them (including myself). At 11:45am I called again to find out a little more detail so I could tell the 24 hungry souls where their food was. What I experienced next was utterly the worst! I spoke with the same member of staff again and upon asking what "soon" meant, she simply passed the phone onto another person. That person was incredibly abrupt, almost made me feel like a criminal for trying to find out when my order would arrive (bearing in mind it was already 30 minutes late). She kept telling me that they are very busy and that they tried to call me. She also decided that the best way to find out what my query was, was to interrupt me 24/7. Every time I started talking she'd talk louder and basically wouldn't let me get a word in edge-ways. After I let her finish her rant about how busy they are, I informed her that I did not get a phone call (my office phone shows missed calls), and that I did not appreciate being lied to and interrupted 24/7. She then, in the most patronizing way, told me to have a good afternoon and a good day and hung up! Perplexed and literally shaking because I couldn't believe what just happened, I called back. I asked her to please not hang up on me again and that I really did not appreciate what just happened. What she said next was the most ridiculous thing I had ever been accused of. She said that they have a "no-harassment" policy and that when telephone customers started harassing a member of staff, they have to hang up. Completely perplexed, I asked how I harassed her, and she said by raising my voice. I asked her if she confused raising my voice with talking at the same time as she was because she kept interrupting me. She then told me to have a nice afternoon and hung up (AGAIN!). This is not the end yet.... The order finally arrived 45 minutes late, at 11:57am. Very polite and helpful delivery driver. She could see I was exhausted, and asked me if everything was ok. I told her about my situation and she apologized profusely for all the trouble. She dropped off the bags and exited the building. I started setting up the catering, emptied the last bag and noticed that none of the condiments or napkins were included. I called Potbelly in Redmond again. Same lady answered. Same patronizing tone. So I told her that the order was incomplete and that she was not allowed to hang up on me now until it was fixed. She yet again said that the store was busy and that it would be a while until we would receive the rest of our order. I summarized "the order was 45 minutes late, when trying to find out where the order was you hung up on me twice, now I see the order is incomplete and you're telling me that it will be a while because you are busy." She just answered with "yes" and finally.....finally....finally (!!) the first apology! She actually said "sorry". Sorry for the hassle, and sorry for the incomplete order. I asked if she was also sorry for hanging up on me twice and for saying that I "harassed" her, and thus making the hassle I had today three times as bad? She said "no" and that she had a good reason because I actually was harassing her and reminded me of their harassment policy again (smh). She said she'd refund my order, but that is yet to be seen because I have not received any type of notification. I was also told that the manager (John?) would call me, again, I am not holding my breath. To be told that I am harassing someone is incredibly offensive. I am not the type of person at all to harass anybody. Potbelly need to explain what harassment is to their employees, before telling them to use it as ammunition against a customer who had a point about being lied to and simply tried to finish one sentence while having the Potbelly rep screech down the phone at them. Whoever this person was, needs to find a new job. She just cost Potbelly in Redmond a very large customer (1,200 ppl onsite). I made sure to send an email to the remainder of executive assistants at our company to ensure no other orders would be placed using this location. I have also decided to take this incident to corporate, seeing as how upset I still am about being told that I harassed someone. Sorry Potbelly. If you can't train your staff to be polite and courteous, especially when they messed up the order, then there is no point of you catering for a highly professional company. read more

The sandwiches here are great and an ideal size for lunch. I usually order the Turkey Breast on 'thin cut' regular bread with your traditional toppings (lettuce, tomato, mayo, onion, Italian seasoning & cucumber[+$0.05]). The bread option is one aspect that sets Potbelly apart from most sandwich shops. It makes for a thinner sandwich that is still substantial and allows the flavor of the meats and vegetables to be more noticeable. Also, they toast the bread to perfection so that it is warmed, and still has that nice chewy texture - no need to worry about every bite scratching the roof of your mouth haha. So yeah this is technically a chain restaurant, but think of it as a pricier (but healthier) Subways. Ingredients are fresher, tastier, and the employees are really nice and communicable. I've had a couple of their sandwiches and for the most part, they're well done. (Mmm the wreck) Except I think the skinnies are totally not worth it. They're like $4 and mostly bread and not sustenance. The regular sandwiches are around $5.30. I haven't endeavored the big versions. Standalone, the sandwiches by themselves the price is pretty alright. The shakes are freaking awesome, but I can't see myself paying $3+tax for them. The cookies are awesome too though. But let me tell you what is worth it: their salads. Oh don't be fooled by the bowl. Once you life the lid, you'll realize just how compact it really was. Alittle more than $7 after tax, but still so worth it. Also their vinaigrettes are killer. First time at Potbelly outside of an airport once long ago. Liked their menu - not so many offerings as to be indecisive but enough variety to give us an option. We split a BLTA - the large and the thing they do is toast all their bread - the sandwich was really tasty / the bacon was on point and the avocado really makes this sandwich- definitely get this one again. The salad was meh / it was a Mediterranean salad - it was "ok" but dressing just didn't make it pop - just go hum - sandwich was 5 stars the salad was 3. So gets a 4 but there some great positives - the rep on request hollowed out the bread so we can cut down on the carbs but still get the crunch of the toasty bread .
