    Loaded bird

First time visit here. I love me some hot sandwiches, guy at the counter said there extreme heat which was the hottest they have needs to be eaten only after you sign a waiver. Your damn right I signed it and got the extreme sauce on the side and we poured it on. It's a dry rub but goes on well and packs a punch. So let's get to it. I was a little disappointed with the very hot and thought it was not as hot as I expected. Now don't get me wrong the extreme run was hot and unless you love hot heat it's probably not for you. Let me break it down. The chicken was cooked perfect and crispy outside and juicy inside. Coleslaw was great the bun we wonderful and they heat was hot. I order the original bird and my son got the loaded bird which came with mac n cheese on it. Price was good, a little high but fair.

What's in this photo you ask .. an attempt at a skinny box of macaroni and cheese .

Ooookay. I am trying to figure out why horrible food in Denver is so acceptable .. I have been here for 10 years and figured I'd be skinny by now . My daughter ordered from this place .. since I don't like seasoning on my fries, I ordered the fakeroni and cheese . It simply looks like Kraft Mac and cheese . My nine year old great niece could have done a better job.. of course upon opening I knew I needed salt and pepper ... no problem .. BUT The noodles were way undercooked and SWIMMING around in some orange / yellow substance .. RIDICULOUS ..

My son and I visit this place every time he has a check up at Children's Hospital. We love the options of items and hot ratio. Very casual inside, all member have been very helpful and answer our questions every time.

Had the number 3 medium spice level. Husband had number 3 hot spice level. The spice levels were good and the sandwiches had a lot of filling, however the flavor of the Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite nor was the slaw- it made my sandwich a bit soggy. I did like the pickle chips and. Taste tested the fries which were good too. It wasn't bad at all, I've just visited better Chicken spots around Denver. Place was clean and staff was nice but there was a chicken sound that went off every 3 mins which was a bit annoying.

The food is simply disgusting , the coleslaw taste like they mixed it with those bottled lemon juice honestly , why would you put lemon in the coleslaw in the first place??? and i ordered a lemonade i was expecting something more decent but no it literally taste just like lemon juice but not natural lemon more like those bottled lemon juice again mixed with sugar is disgusting IM SO DISAPPOINTED of spending my money on such a trashy food.... The whole thing was sour asf

The loaded burrito is so delicious and filling. The fries are perfect and unmatched. The comeback sauce is beyond tasty. Many options to spice things up. Long story short, I come here to eat every chance I get!

My bowl is a #8 and the other bowl is a #10. Blazing Mac, Dave's Fried Jalapenos,Blazing Load

The food was amazing. I got the #8 Mac and Cheese bowl, and the bowl (pictured about) was a #10. We also got Dave's Fried Jalapeños, which were also tasty. I'm going to be thinking about this food for the rest of our trip! Seriously delicious comfort food packed with flavor, spices, and topped with a delicious sauce. Staff were polite, and the place is clean. Would go again!

After a meeting nearby, I found myself craving something new. A quick search brought me to Blazing Bird. PRO: Located across from the Ann Schutz Campus off I-225 and Colfax, Blazing Bird is in a prime location. CON: This location has notoriously terrible parking, and it can be difficult to enter and exit the parking lot. Oof. PRO: There's a variety of options that are all customizable in spice level to cater to your preference. CON: Like others have said, their hot isn't as hot as spice-lovers would like. I also noted that the hot really wasn't that hot. Perhaps the adjective "blazing" is a stretch here. Perhaps Seasoned Bird would be a more fitting name... PRO: Guy working at the register was nice enough to bring my order to my table. CON: This really didn't make up for the awkward experience ordering. I just don't think the guy at the register understood that I wanted a meal, but instead of a drink, I wanted a milkshake. That turned into a whole thing. I ended up with a vanilla milkshake that accidentally had a squirt of chocolate and a drink. Plus, bringing my order to my table held up the line of patrons waiting to order. Unfortunately this all just made it a meh experience. It was an okay experience, but I'm not rushing back to Blazing Bird anytime soon.

Blazing Bird was a bust for me unfortunately and I hate giving poor reviews, but the food here was quite bland for a place that touts spiciness and I found a hair in the food as well. Aesthetically the food looked good but after taking the first bite it was not as flavorful than I expected. The chicken had some crunch to it but it was also a bit dry, the macaroni wasn't cheesy and didn't have much flavor either so it was quite disappointed. The fries were meh as well, not very crunchy and I didn't like that it was coated. I think I will skip this place going forward and go to Dave's Hot Chicken

Ordered through Uber eats received within 30 minutes. Chicken was very tender then expected. Only disappointed thing was ordered the large fries and paid extra but I don't think I got the large. And ordered the extra sauce on the side but never got it.

    Loaded Burrito

Fantastic food, I was in Aurora for a flag football tournament and looked at some local eats, read the reviews and wanted to find out if they were true. They were true I had the loaded burrito and it was way worth it Good service clean place

There are many hot chickens, but those flavors get tiring and honestly it's more one dimensional in taste. The chicken Katsu isn't your traditional Hawaiian/Japanese but it's close. They put their own twist on it and it delivered. I personally still prefer the Hawaiian style chicken Katsu but this is very good. I wish the Mac salad was creamier as it was pretty dry that night. The elote was good, but nothing to rave about. The fried rice complimented the chicken well. White rice would also go well to help with the saltiness of the chicken. The tenders are good and juicy. It has a light breading which is great since it emphasizes the meat of the chicken well. They priced their meals perfectly and its cheaper than many places which makes it a hit. I wish I can give it a 5 but it's closer to a 4.25. Kickin chicken will be in my rotation for post shift meals since it's conveniently placed across the street!

Unfortunately despite having enjoyed their menu in the past, I DO NOT recommend anyone come here; if you do ask for a paper receipt and pay in cash to ensure you're not being overcharged. ((Full Details Below)) We loved this location due to the delicious chicken and fries, but have not been here in over a year since the new management. We ordered a whole chicken (10 pieces of chicken variety $28.99 with 2 sauces +$1 each sauce, Large Fries $7.99 + $1.00 for flavor rub, and one soft drink $2.99). The menu is slightly different than from what we remember so we asked for advice, one of the sauces came recommended by the waitress. Note that we already knew the price range and already expected to drop $45-60 for two people, including the tip. We get our food, 5 one sauce 5 another sauce, strongly disliked one of the flavors, we couldn't eat it. Ate the other 5 pieces, it was delicious. We ask if it was possible to switch the 5 pieces of chicken for another flavor, they said since they cannot take the chicken back to the kitchen they won't/cannot switch them with a different flavor, but if we place another order of chicken they will give us 20% off. We decline, we'll just eat the 5 pieces we did like and leave the ones we didn't. Oh well right? That's life. Waitress comes back and says they will give us a discount on the chicken. That's nice of them, thank you! She comes while i'm still munching with an electronic pay pad, no itemized receipt like at other restaurants, points the machine to my fiance to tap his card. Total is $47.something she says, I tell her i'm paying cash so please bring us a paper receipt. She leaves, my fiance comments "that seems high" me, i didn't notice at all. Waitress comes back with the paper receipt and we begin doing our own calculations. I notice that they charged us for two half chickens (16.99 each) instead of what we ordered which was a whole chicken with 2 sauces ($28.99, $1 each sauce = $30.99) That's a $3 dollar difference, in which we are overpaying by $3 than what we had originally ordered. Waitress tries to explain to us that they removed our original order to discount the chicken, but that still doesn't reason why they are charging us for TWO half chickens instead of just discounting off the whole chicken order we originally place. She says it's because it's one sauce so half of the chicken, so half chicken charge. Then we tell her that even with the discount, the way they are charging us for two half chickens cancels out the discount and we are still overpaying at the end compared to our original order. We tell them to remove their discount, we don't want it and to charge us for the whole chicken that we had ordered originally. Waitress goes back to talk to the manager and then comes back and "corrects" the problem giving us a 50% on one of the half chicken orders. This time we weren't overpaying, but they still never corrected the order to reflect our original whole chicken order, keeping the two half chicken orders. At the end if we hadn't noticed we would have left overpaying for a meal we didn't enjoy. The part that is most upsetting is that we were not rude to anyone, just told them we disliked the sauce, accepted when they said they wouldn't switch it out, we didn't ask for a discount, they offered it. Note we still tipped after this. I don't know if this was done on purpose but what I can say is that we felt deceived, we will not be coming here despite this being a staple food spot for our relationship. Very sad.

First, when we walked in, there was nobody in the front so we were just kind of standing there waiting for someone to greet us. The young man who did eventually greet us was nice and asked us if we were ready to order. Since we'd never been there, we didn't know that the concept is to order your food before you are seated and since we were totally unfamiliar with the menu, we were holding up the people behind us so he gave us some menus and we just kind of stood to the side until we knew what we wanted. The order counter is off to the side of the entrance and seating area and is kind of in the bar area which I thought was oddly placed. We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and they were big and pretty good. My husband got the two piece dark chicken with collard greens and Mac and cheese, and I got the tenders and potato wedges. He remarked that the chicken was okay and the collard greens and Mac and cheese did not have much flavor. I tried his Mac and cheese and it seemed old and lacking in cheese or sauce. The chicken tenders were good but the potato wedges tasted old and not hot. The worst part for me though was that the tables are sticky - not because of something that was spilled but rather because of the varnish so it gives the impression that they are dirty. Also, when I used the women's bathroom, it looked like the stall doors have never been wiped down which totally grossed me out. Even though the food wasn't necessarily bad it isn't remarkable compared to any other chicken establishment, and the hype about the sauces seemed unwarranted. The BBQ and honey mustard sauces were way too sweet and the jalapeño ranch was devoid of ranch in my opinion. However, he main reason I wouldn't return is more because of the sticky tables and dirty bathroom stall doors.

Texture was pretty spot on, but really the flavors are what got me. We tried both the plain and Nashville hot, and both were good. Tried 4 of their available sauces and everyone in the family agreed they were solid. The fries and most sides are also free from cross contamination so it was nice having a full meal where nothing was compromised or risky. Also appreciated the variety of lemonades and local sodas over the traditional coke/pepsi fountains most places offer. I won't say this fried chicken is a perfect one for one from my gluten eating days, but they've done a wonderful job of getting pretty close. The flavors and sauces get the experience pretty close in my opinion. Even my kids said they'd choose this over other "normal" fried chicken places.
