I'm 50 years old on march 13th 2015 and I have 42 years experience as a photographer. Yes. My grandfather gave me my first camera when i was 8yo. When i move from Brazil to NYC in 1996 to stay away from photography business for a lithe bit i found this guys close to my house (washington square park), to develop my photos that i was playing around with. February 2015 (snow storm), american citizen, back to photography business (sorry can't help it), two photo studios, one in brooklyn one in the lower east side, i found them again. I get at least a roll done here every week. I recommend Neal and company at Bleeker whenever I can, to whoever will listen. For starters, the technical stuff. My film comes back perfect, every time. I've yet to pick up negatives in anything less than pristine condition, no missing exposures, no scratches or folds, nothing even close. They also do an exceptional job scanning, never heavy unsharp masking or banding. These guys are precise, and are experts in their trade. There other places where such expertise comes with condescension. Couldn't be less of the case here. Neal is incredibly friendly, and clearly enjoys what he does. He happily answers questions and gives advice, be it on tips for shooting with a new film stock, push or pull processing, whatever really. That goes for the whole staff actually... I bought and immediately broke a Fujifilm Klasse and Jing had a great repair recco at the ready. It brings me a lot of joy to bring my business to people that are so kind and appreciative. Bleeker is a hidden gem that rises amongst them all! And not only does there work show for it, but the level of care they leave you with when you drop off your rolls of film makes you feel like your work is in good hands. And it is! I've been a customer for over 5 years and I've never received a scan I was disappointed with. In fact, if I know that a picture I took isn't going to come out well (because of my doing), somehow Bleeker magically makes that picture look even better than intended. I trust in the work that I'm able to produce with my cameras but I have to say, all credit is due to Bleeker. I've been a regular here for the past year and a half, after being recommended by a fellow photographer whose been using then for years. Bleeker Digital is hands down one of my favorite spots for film development in the city, every roll is consistently top notch and I am always grateful for their speedy turnarounds. The best service from really great people. this a true professional lab. run by caring and wonderful people. they care about your work no matter how many rolls you are dropping off. they are much nicer than the other labs nearby. after going here I will never bring anything anywhere else. the film is always developed well with good color and tonality and the scans are on point. they don't run your film through bad chemicals like others do. recently I overexposed some slide film and Neal deduced how to develop it properly and saved 2 rolls of film. they have been developing film for a long time and I trust them with my work. thanks Bleeker! read more

The only place I go for printing/framing. Owner Anile maintains his small business values with a superior product (no joke - quality is the best in the city) and service catered to each client. Quick example: I had a rush job for 2 11X14 prints needed for a silent auction last week. I called Anile at 930am and told him I would be coming by in half hour to pick up the prints. In any other lab this would be laughed at, but Anile was waiting with my photos at 10am when I showed up. They were perfect, and the auction was a roaring success. Film photographer? Go here. I was in search of a new developing house. Thankfully I learned about this family owned business that has been doing this for 30 years. They do fantastic developing and scanning work for 35mm (and more). My first time coming, they were so thoughtful, communicated clearly, and set expectations. They always deliver my scans on time, as promised. One time, one of my rolls were blank, and the owner was so apologetic--and it wasn't even their mistake, it was mine. Great place for film photographers. I am very impressed with their quality. I tried big labs with big prices but the quality was still not impressive as compared to others. But I have found this gem in the city who does professional film processing and scanning. Nothing is compared to them in the city I guess. I think they need to advertise more, because they really do have great quality print and processing. Not many good places like these in the city. I have used Bleeker DIgital for about four years now, and I've had thousands of rolls and sheets of film processed and scanned there. I have never had even the slightest problem - and any photographer knows how important it is to trust completely in a lab. Anil, the owner, is a knowledgeable professional. I have known Anil since his time at US Color Lab, one of the premier all-service film labs in NYC. I have never met professional who delivers better custom digital and film services. No finer quality or more reliable service in the city- I have had film work from 35mm to 8x10 through his labs as well as digital production and printing. You can even get the cool Fuji instant cameras and film there. Anil can handle it all and does so in a pleasant and patient manner. The turnaround for my film development was pretty quick, just a couple of days, which was surprising, especially around the holidays. The scan quality is great, and the files are well-organized. The price was a bit more than expected, but I think it's worth the service provided! The space only allows 2 people in at a time, and there might be a wait outdoors, which can be rough in this weather. read more
