I had such a great experience at Blessings Hair Braiding! Mame did my Bora Bora braids and she did an absolutely beautiful job. My appointment was definitely a long one (about 10 hours!), but she was so patient, detailed, and really took her time with my hair from start to finish. The braids came out gorgeous, super neat, and exactly the look I was going for. You can tell Mame really cares about her work and pays attention to the little details. I've already gotten compliments on them and I'm so happy with how they turned out! Loose hair issue. My hair was braided by kimora and Jessica. Very nice ladies, hair was completed in 5.5 hours. The next day I started finding loose hair. Within 24 hours there were about 5 loose hairs falling out. Then none for a few days but I didn't touch my hair because I was sore. The first rinse, I lost lost another handful and had to stop touching hair for fear they would continue to lose hair. I reached out the very next day. Fabiola the owner got back to me asked who did my hair and then heard nothing back. I have informed her I continue to lose handful of loose hair. By the time of my vacation hair will be scarce. $600+ not including hair, go somewhere else for Bora bora. The ladies mentioned I may like the miracle knots. I will try that next but not sure I want to go again. No concern from owner. I paid $720 not including the hair. $1000 and losing hair every day. This is a technique issue. Tresses (loose hair) not anchored properly. Convenience is they do same day but I had appointment 2 weeks prior and when I walked in, they weren't sure who was going to do my hair despite multiple messages from blessed braids to confirm appointment. Management issue, poor customer service. It was a slow day they only did one other person. Not sure I would go again despite the Corel's being nice. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Before booking my appointment, I called to explain exactly what I wanted and even sent a reference photo of small braids (about the width of the side of my pinky) with curls at the bottom. I was quoted $250, and I paid a $30 deposit based on that quote. I woke up at 8:00 a.m. to make it to my appointment, only to show them the exact same reference photo again and suddenly be told the style would cost $350 instead. A $100 price increase after I've already booked and paid a deposit is completely unacceptable. What made the experience even worse was them asking if I was leaving after they tried to upcharge me. Yes, I was leaving--because that's not the price I agreed to when I booked. Now I'm left with an unbraided head, looking a mess, after waking up early, driving to my appointment, and expecting to get the service I was originally quoted for. I will not be returning. I highly recommend that anyone booking with this salon get all pricing in writing, save your messages, and keep receipts. Boni Teresa was unprofessional, lazy, and rude. My braids were uneven, cut wrong, and she would try parting my hair while it was still in a ponytail repeatedly . Got braided at the end of May for a trip. My scalp was inflamed and I developed a cluster of bumps on the back of my neck just 7 days with the cornrows in. I was accommodated last minute which was nice, but them hands is too heavy for my scalp. I rarely get braids but when I have before, I've been able to keep them in at least a month. Never have I ever developed bumps on my neck and had an inflamed scalp. I lost a lot of hair ok my neckline just from looking up, down, left, and right (this is no joke). My hair type is maybe 3b, but I don't think any hair type deserves their neck pulled up to their damn forehead and their forehead pulled back to their neck. She also cut the fly always with scissors, I assumed she knew what she was doing but later I realized that my own flyaways may have been cut too. My natural hair looks different for sure, I have split ends up to my scalp. Just glad I'm not bald but I will be if I go back to this place though. They have different braiders who might do a better job. I forgot the name of my braider. But I hope she reads this and realizes that she should keep the health of hair in mind when braiding and consider that not all curls and kinks have the same strength when pulled. I had only had 8 cornrows with extensions done here. Sad to say, they barely lasted 1 week before they started to unravel. When installed properly, I have worn this style for 6 weeks straight, with no problem. This entire hairstyle was ruined in less than 2 weeks. Visited: 8/15/2020 Appointment time: 6pm I made my appointment with Fabi and was a bit caught off guard to find out (when I called her to inquire of parking) that she left the shop for the day - when I was under the impression she would be braiding my hair. The communication regarding this could have been better. Fabi assured me that any of the other braiders would do an equally good job and not to worry. Fabi informed me that Coco was told to take care of me. So I found parking the next block over and walked up. Coco was finishing up doing another client when I walked in. So a lady name Janet prepped my hair. What I will say about Janet is that she could be a bit more gentler - my hair is naturally soft and curly - Janet wanted to blow dry my hair but instead of starting at the ends and working her way up she went straight to the roots - this is a No No! And is a sure way to pull a persons hair out. I had to tell Janet, "You're pulling my hair." Janet adjusted how she treated my hair w/o issue - which I did appreciate. Coco completed her client's hair that was already there and asked me to move to her chair - Janet accompanied me over to Coco's chair. Both of them began braiding my hair. I was surprised- I've never experienced (2) people braiding my hair at once but I must say... it worked out well... together as a team they worked and completed my hair and I was out a little after 9pm. - duration: A little over 3 hours (you can't beat that) Thank you Coco AKA Famous Lady AKA Lover of Love ;) Thank you Janet for providing assistance to Coco. Passed this place months ago and went in to inquire since I needed a hairdresser closer to me. They were very welcoming and the place was very clean. Wound up going back for crochets. I went in 15 minutes before my appointment and my braided was ready for me. Unfortunately she had to take down my cornrows because the last time I did so, I cut my hair so she did so quickly and washed it. I had an appointment scheduled for 10:00 am and arrived a few minutes early. I sat as instructed, until I was called. The owner Fabiola advised me that it would b a few minutes, and that one if the stylist was on her way. I watched as others came in and turned away even though they had appointments for 10:00 also. Around 10:40 Fabiola told me that I would need return because she was braiding another clients hair. She said it would take approximately 2 hours or so. I cannot lie and say that I was not more than dissatisfied with the overbooking with no concern for my time. I was a returning customer however because of today's outcome, I will not recommend this shop. Being greedy and overbooking is not only unprofessional, but it shows a lack of planning and total disregard for the paying customer. I am very disappointed and quite upset with the professionalism of this place. If you are looking for a new braiding shop do 'NOT' go here. Read the full encounter of my appalling experience below. I just moved to SoCal from NorCal and, in my many years of getting my hair braided, 'every-month' 16-years, I have never had an issue with any shop like this one. Funny enough, I found this shop using Yelp. So it began; I called this shop 2 weeks prior to my scheduled appointment so that I could make sure that they had a braider who could do the style (I even sent in photos and explained, in detail of what I wanted). Someone contacted me back, through text, where we discussed an agreed upon a price and time/date to do my hair. Two weeks later I arrived at my appointment 45-min early and I did wait patiently. I was in the chair on time and the lady did asked me what I was getting done to my hair. I explained to her what I wanted and length, and knew from multiple previous experiences that I was going to spend at least 7-hours in the chair getting my hair done. She then asked me how much I was told that this will cost. I responded the with the agreed upon price and she scuffed and said something under her breath. Well, sh*^, I was appalled and told her that I could show her proof in text. She agreed and I sat in her chair as she started pulling the hair out of the packets and setting up. She started doing my hair and I told her I did not like the length by like a 1/2-inch. Which she made a comment that she would need more hair and I told her that's why I bought waaaaayyyy more then enough pack, four of which she hadn't opened yet so that should not be an issue. She then said to me, very bluntly, that she wasn't getting paid enough to do that. I was taken back by the second time she spoke like this to me... or under her breath, but decided to concede. After she did the bottom row with twist, I then told her we had a space issue because prior to starting my hair I implicitly told her how I wanted the spacing so that my scalp wouldn't show and that I need them staggered (even showed her pictures, again). After-which, said she couldn't do what I asked and that I should go somewhere else. Unfortunately she wasn't willing compromise or anything. She just said NOPE! I said ok. She packed up my hair, and I left. The professionalism absolutely wasn't there, because 'obviously 'this was not the lady I talked/text on the phone who agreed to the overall cost and work. Which means ... ... surprise... they clearly have a lack communication on their prices, 100%. And I felt like once the lady found out the $300 price (not including the hair), she was obliviously unaware of, she wanted to quit before it even began. I arrived at my appointment about 15 minutes early. I haven't had a sew-in in years and decided to switch up my hairstyle. Being new to the area, I found Blessings Hair Salon, which offers full sew-ins. A week before the appointment, I asked the hair stylist if they had any beauty supply recommendations so I could bring my own hair. She proceeded to say, "we have hair at the shop. What color are you looking for?" I replied candidly, "black, and wet & wavy, if possible"-she confirmed the availability; maybe I should have been more specific? But I digress. I'm thinking, awesome-this saves me so much time since I'm coming straight after work, and I have a flight to catch for my sister's surprise birthday party in Houston the next day (therefore, I'm on a time crunch). I arrived via uber extremely excited, but I was immediately disappointed. There were a few shaggy cheap wigs, braiding hair (of course), and "sample" tracks in one dark brown color on display. The hairstylist, possibly the owner? Because there weren't any greetings, just someone sitting on the couch while I'm searching the corners of the shop for hair. I'm puzzled; she tells me to look around the other side for additional hair options...only more braiding hair! I started asking, "is this it? I texted a week before to make sure you had black weaving hair and/or wet & wavy weaving hair"-she shrugs and remains sitting. I look at all the hair options again just in case I see another option. Nope! It's now 2pm (my appointment time), and I'm getting anxious. I had to initiate every conversation and ask repeatedly before she went to "check" in the back for more hair. Of course not. Now I'm looking dumbfounded while she remained on the couch, just chilling smh. I decided to research beauty supply stores and other hair salons within a short distance since I didn't drive. I found a few, but by the time I made the roundtrip, I would've wasted a lot of time. I just decided to head home. This is the first time I have encountered this issue in the past 15 years of professional hair styling. AND I took my box braids out a little earlier than needed. Now I'm scrambling to find a hair stylist in Houston. I'll give one star because the braiding styles look decent, but extremely unprofessional! read more

I went in to get my hair crocheted, and the person who was doing my hair, did not have the professional experience to be doing my hair. There were other ladies in there who knew that she was not experienced enough to do my hair however, they still allowed her to do my hair, and it did not turn out the way I expected it to turn out .My problem is is that it was a 200+ dollar hairstyle and I feel like if there were other ladies in there who knew how to execute the style they should've been the one to do it. unfortunately, I will not go back to this place anymore based on the fact that I felt like it was intentional for my hair to not be done correctly. Was in and out in 5 hrs, which is good Only reason this review doesn't get 5 stars is because we are in the middle of a pandemic and only 1 braider, the owner- Fabiola, had on a mask. She needs to endure her other workers to wear a mask... They did not require a mask to enter. My braider did not have on a mask, and neither did some other patrons....
