I've been coming to this shop and it's stylists (particularly Tara) since I was 8 years old! I'm 28 now. So can you imagine how loyal I am? Haha! Anyway, I noticed there hasn't been a review for this establishment for a while so I thought I'd leave one, since I never have before. Black female owned salon, reasonable prices, and they can do any style imaginable. I normally get my hair braided. And this isn't those salons you see on social media with the crazy deposits or late fees or whatever for appointments. Don't know what that's about. Covid safe, they do wear masks. My usual hair stylist at Flaunt Salon was on vacation so I hopped onto yelp to find somewhere reputable and affordable. I called 3 places before I found this one. One of the places i called was a local super cuts in Long Beach who quoted me $120 and and told me they would use color corrector to lighten my hair because they dont use bleach. Not only that the lady was RUDE. So on my fourth call I found this place. Tara answered the phone and was as sweet as could be. I was wowed. That's all it took was a little Customer service to reel me in. They service all hair textures and types! When I walked in Tara was standing there ready for me. She was SOOOO sweet and made me feel super comfortable and made me feel at home. There was one other stylist in the shop and she was super sweet too. The genuine kind. They had me busting up laughing my ass off the entire time. We decided to try a color on my hair to see if it would take, as I wasn't sure if I had dyed my hair black at some point which wouldn't be easy to color over. She was so professional about it. They've been cutting n styling hair for over 25 years. The color came out vibrant and sexy and took care of my black deathly roots lol. She made me feel so comfy that in 8 weeks we set another appointment to go blondish. I'm so excited that I found this place! $40 for the dye job and that's a steal. You get a good laugh, a clean tip top salon and awesome hair! That's a package deal. I would recommend this shop for any hair job or style u need and for all hair types, textures and ethnicities. Ashley ruined my hair. First off, I had an appointment at 4P and she didn't get to me until 5P. She had taken another client and wanted to finish them first. She got halfway done and decided to rinse out what she was doing and cut the ladies hair instead. This should have been my second warning that something wasn't right. She ended up trying to juggle me and the other client at the same time. Super unprofessional. I told her I wanted brown with some red highlights. I warned her that my hair took color really quick, like half the time you would expect but she was too busy with her other client and left me under the dryer way too long. The salon is very dimly lit and I knew my hair was wrong but figured I could learn to live with it until I got home and looked in the mirror. I have near black hair with purple on top. My scalp is bright red and there's smears of dye I can't get off all over my face. How do you not know to wipe the dye off your clients face? To add insult to injury the yelp deal is for 1 specific stylist, not for the salon in general so I was unable to use it. What a nightmare, steer clear! read more

Definitely a blessing that we have met Tara! I called and explained that this would be the first time I would be allowing my 13yo daughter to put any chemical on her hair. She did an extensive consult and took the time with my daughter and I to provide a ton of education and instruction on how to manage her new style. Tyra, the owner/stylist was professional with recommending healthy hair tips, she was accommodating as far as making a flexible appointment time, and on top of that she's a perfectionist so every hair was in place. After searching high and low for a reputable stylist I was able to narrow it down to 3. I immediately started making calls to see who was available and Tara with late notice made time for me. I showed up to her shop the following day for my appointment and as soon as I walked in she got started. I was so incredibly nervous because for the first time EVER I was cutting damn near all of my hair off and AT THAT allowing a new stylist to do it. I showed her a couple of photos and it didn't take long for her to get an idea as to what I wanted. When everything was said and done she HOOKED A SISTA UP!
