I am brain dead to art. I don't know the slightest thing about art except to draw the sun in the corner of your paper. Anyhow I wanted to tackle a painting of my dog and a friend had a list of thing he wanted me to buy. I looked up the local art supply store and found Blick. I walked right in and my eyes were crossed because there was just so many items to choose from I didn't even know where to start. A gentlemen at the front of the store greeted me and asked if I need any help. I told him the items I was looking for and he didn't just tell me where they were he took me to them and picked them out for me. He even recommended to sign up for their store loyalty card to reduce the price. Great customer service. Definitely recommend this place for its selection and it's friendly no hassle no stress customer service. read more

Store is a little small but they have a great selection of art supplies. The store is always clean and organized. Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable, super friendly too. I'm a graphic arts student and have always taken fine arts courses since it's a part of my degree path and I have long enjoyed traditional art mediums. I've been going to Blick for years and they always have what I need and more. The staff has always been incredibly helpful. They had what I needed, that's fine. I liked their other store on Decatur better, as it was bigger and more impressive. Oh well, at least it is closer to me and has difficult-to-find oil painting materials that I need quickly from time to time. read more

Quality art supplies. Some of the prices are up to 20% higher than can be found on dickblick.com. In relation to the website the store has a price match guarantee which includes any special web coupons or sales. Two problems I have is having to look up every item on the phone and keeping multiple tabs open to show the cashier in order to get that price matched to the web in the store. I'd prefer they just matched the web prices on the price tags in the store. The 2nd problem was the clerk refused us the price matching along with a silly excuse. When we complained she pretended not to hear us and didn't respond. The manager kindly contacted me and said if there are any problems like that in the future to request a manager to intervene to get the price match. read more

Let me tell you about Blick's tricks. They're a bait-and-switch operation. I've shopped there in LA and was unimpressed by the pretentious art student staff. I recently opened an creative studio off Freemont Street in Las Vegas. Today, the start of a holiday weekend, I looked on Blick's website to find a specific item. The site allows you to select a store, and then you can select to "shop this store." By any logical sense that suggests you are looking at the inventory of that specific store (the way every retail store does it). However, I called anyway and asked if they have the item in stock. "Yes it's in stock." I make the drive across the city to get there. When I get to Blick's, the sales staff pounces (I've always assumed they are commissioned), and then tell me they don't have the item I drove there for. Of course I'm annoyed, the store manager runs to the back office without speaking to me, leaving his staff to try and up-sell me on some other far more expensive item - and tell me why it's just SO much better than what I came there for. Blick's tends to only carry the most expensive supplies available I've noticed. As my patience degrades to zero, an associate had the audacity to tell me that, "in stock actually means we can order it for you online." Really Blick's? Did I drive way over to your store just so I could order it online? Lucky for my weekend plans, there was a Michael's near by, and they had what I was looking for. This was the third and last time Blick's tells me they have something, just to try and sell me a high-ticket item when I get in the store. So Blick's let me offer you MY definition of, "In stock," it means I will never spend another dime in your stores! read more

It's okay. I will probably stick with the chains stores as they have more of a selection in regards to what I was looking for. If you're a painter this is your store. Excellent prices on canvases etc. I personally enjoy scrapbooking/making collages which they really didn't offer much in the way of supplies for that sort of hobby. Was worth the visit. read more

I was absolutely blown away by the customer service at this place. We received a "must have" list for my sons high school art class all of which I was 100% unfamiliar with. The staff anticipated our arrivals and had all the supplies already pulled to the front in bundles. All I had to do was show the list and pay! Exceptional!!!! read more

I went to Blick after I found them via - what else - the Yelp! app. This place is large, well organized and stocked with everything I could ever want as someone who likes to stretch his own canvas prints. Very reasonable prices on everything i saw.... I bought 2 24x36 stretcher kits and out the door price was 35 bucks I think. The girl working the counter was nice and attentive. I love this store, however the service is horrible. I was walking around the store for about 35 minutes looking for a few things, no one offered me help and no one was around to ask for help. There was a worker standing behind me stocking pencils, one fell on the ground and she yelled "son of a bitch" and walked away. When I was cashing out, I asked if they priced match with their online site and my cashier (didn't get her name) green hair, green, eyebrows, piercings, (you can't miss her) RUDELY AND STUCKUP said "well it probably wouldn't work, but I guess I'll try". Don't know why she got all irritated when I asked, I thought it said price match guarantee on their website. I tried to show her each item to price match and then she skipped some and went straight to the last item I had...Then She offered me a preferred members card and afterwards said "sorry we don't have any cards to give out right now". She could've maybe took my phone number name and email down but she didn't. Great store, bad employees. read more

The service is fine but the "price match" to their own website is a joke. I drive in from boulder city rarely because of the distance but they are really the only game in town except for hobby lobby but they have much more supplies so I needed some more supplies and looked on the web site for sales. They had sharpie art pens for 20.00 for the 24 pack. Great deal. I drove on in to vegas and picked up the pens and other things i needed. When i asked the girl about the proce match she said yes but.... Then she explained how it works, ( is based off your total purchase plus shipping if you ordered on line it May match it down but its best to buy everything separately) so i did and the 20 set of pens cost me 30 because it added the shipping amount plus tax! WTH?! I couldve gone to hobby lobby, used a 40% coupon and paid less for the total order (including the 4 pads and pencils and pens i got) AND saved on the gas and time to drive over 20 miles.... read more
