I've been to Bead Haven many times throughout the years and I can say that as a local, it's always been a pleasant experience. The owner of this cute little bead shop is a lady who manages it all by herself which is not an easy task and I applaud her for that. I'm glad Bead Haven is open because it's the only bead store in the area aside from Micheals. It's unique and has a lot of rare beads and findings that are hard to find at the average big box bead stores. I've purchased hundreds of dollars worth of items here through the years and it's all high quality materials at fair prices. I hope that Bead Haven stays open for as long as it can because it's truly a unique little spot and a local favorite. Just an FYI if you're going to spend less than $10 you'll have to being cash. Rude to guest and they have poor customer service. One of the store associates an older lady was very condescending when my girlfriend was asking for help. There is another associate who has always been helpful and nice but after this interaction we will not be returning. read more

This store has a large selection of beads, so if you're looking for supplies, you may find what you need. However, the ambiance is a bit strange. There's a mix of Christian music, Jewish symbols, and Buddhist and Hindu statues, which creates a confusing and somewhat uncomfortable spiritual theme. The owner also isn't very friendly, which makes the shopping experience less enjoyable. If you can look past the atmosphere and attitude, the bead selection itself is there, but overall, it's not the most welcoming place to browse. read more

The hours online are listed as close at 6 p.m. Drove there yesterday. They were closed. Closes at 5 p.m. Their door sign does say they close at 5 p.m., they need to update their online information. Went back the next morning. Opens at 10:00 a.m., arrived at 10:10 a.m. and it was closed. A lady walked in at 10:15 a.m. in absolutely no hurry (assuming an employee), and proceeded to lock the door behind her. It's 10:20 a.m. and it's still closed. I've been here several times and spent over $60 each visit, expect today. I in the store for about 20 mins and never asked if I could use any help. Prior to checking out, I heard the owner inquire if the patron was a member. When I proceeded to check out I was not asked if I was a member or wanted to become one. So I inquired about it. Owner didn't try to explain the program to me just added me since I asked. When I asked her if you get discounts for being in the club, she told me yes when you spend $500 you get 10 percent off. Which is not a great deal but had I ever been asked I would have been 1/2 there already. They do have some deals there but most items are over priced. Between the service and the Price I would rather drive across town. Would not recommend this place. read more

I have been here around 6 times over the last 4 years or so. I love their selection and have always been treated very well every single time. I was just there today. They have a great selection of Czech pressed glass beads. They also have semi precious strands and lots of other items as well. Wow! I've found one of the best owned stores in Vegas! I walked in and was greeted very nicely & left alone to browse and hunt. How fun, walking the aisles with my little pan with all my treasures. The woman working, who I assume is the owner was very professional and she doesn't hover or bother you, however she is there if you need anything! Had some time to kill while I was in Vegas and decided to check this shop out. I LOVE the tables of beads and getting to put them in the tins. The lady running the store was very friendly and helpful. My son (11) was with me touching the beads and helping me pick them out and she never once flinched or freaked out that he was "shopping" too. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. I entered the store and there were two ladies sitting at a table in the front. They said nothing to me or my companion. It was only after I had selected a couple strings of beads and I was ready to leave that they paid any attention to us. The beads are extremely high priced for beads that I know to be available at local craft stores by the string. I also noted an entire tray of filigree metal plates that are directly from AliExpress and are .10-.25 each while this shop is charging .75 or more for each one. I also noted a sign on the front door saying no photos. It wasn't until I was checking out that it was pointed out that there was a $10.00 min to use plastic. Like most people I do not carry cash on me, Preferring to use plastic for security. Overall not a great experience. Sad to say that because I had been looking forward to visiting this small business shop. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Beware - this business does not stay open during their posted business hours. I even called ahead to make sure they would be open. I was assured they would be open - but they were closed at least 52 minutes early. I'm better off just using mail order for what I want. It takes a few extra days but is less frustrating. read more

I was very disappointed with my first-ever visit to Bead Haven. I came here specifically because I need beads with larger holes and this store claims to carry a large assortment of beads, staying, "We're always looking for hard-to-find larger beads..." etc. but once there i was told they don't carry such beads because "they don't sell" and that they sell products their beading students, who use needles and thread, want to buy. That's not how they describe themselves. I asked how I could find these beads- could they recommend any sources? No. I was told I'd have a hard time finding large-hole beads in Las Vegas. I didn't feel that my needs as a customer were important, and that they don't care to serve a customer base with diverse interests- just their own students and thread beaders. Very strange. I don't know what the heck is wrong with the woman who runs the store but I walked in and asked if she had something particular and she immediately said "no you're going to have to go to Joannes or Michaels instead" even though she had some of what I wanted sitting right there, and then she proceeded to stalk me around the store with a face like she'd been sucking on lemons as if I was going to steal something - I was going to get some things just to be nice but it absolutely wasn't worth it so I walked out - The funny thing is she was chatting with another customer about Bible study and if this is what good Christian behavior looks like? I mean good luck with an attitude like that, I'll go down and get what I need in Los Angeles instead - I called back over to the shop that had sent me to her and told them not to send anyone else there, check out Bead Jungle in Henderson instead, they're much nicer people read more

If you just simply walked around dressed as a mimed nun, I'm sure the experience in this store would be pleasant. But it really feels super uncomfortable whenever I've visited. The only reason anyone would go back is because the product itself is very diverse and wide ranged. But I'm telling you, the customer service is horrible if you're not over 50 years old or white. At least that's how it really feels. They watch you like a hawk as if you're gonna steal something. And why no photos? No clue. The person working was helping another customer select a pallet of seed beads for a project. They were the only other two people there. Not once in the whole time I was there was I greeted. Love to come here when im in need of my beads restocked shes got a huge variety and many different sizes and shes even got charlotte cut hanks in quite a few sizes as well which are some of my favorites as well as delicas! Shes got the tables filled with many different charms that u can think of even cute little pigs. The store itself I believe is well organized but also very lively by all the different colors she displays in the store and she even has trays as well provided infront to hold your beads when shopping. The shop owner herself she is polite she can seem intimidating at first but she does help when she's needed of course to unlock certain items or when you need help with something specific she'll help you out, but other then that she does her stuff in the store (restock and checkout etc.) and she leaves you to shop till your ready to go. I do recommend this place alot for the beads specifically you do get what you pay for and amazing quality beads/charms and so much more. As usual, I go into a bead store intending to buy one strand... and walk out with $200 worth of items. I'm perfectly fine with it though, haha. Anyway, this place is much bigger than I expected it to be. There are hundreds of strands hanging from the walls and tables with little containers of individual beads to choose from. I browsed for about a hour... again, only intended to buy one strand of beads (I found the strand within 15 seconds of being in the store), but I was enthralled by the selection. There were a few ladies participating in a beading class while I was there. There was a work center in the middle of the store and it sounded like they were enjoying themselves. Milton, the gentleman working, was very nice. He helped me find everything I needed (and more). He and the other woman working were very helpful. They even showed me how to make a bracelet I was interested in. Milton was very patient while I learned and he gave me the low-down on how to make sure I was doing top-notch stitching. I've been to many bead stores around the world (Hawaii, NYC, LA, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, and Japan) and I have to say that the service is one of the best! I live in Green Valley and don't care much for driving outside of my square. But if you are serious about beading and love a nice selection, Bead Haven is your spot. I found items here that I would normally have to order from Etsy or Amazon, and I have been to every bead store in Las Vegas/Henderson (except Sweet Beads). I read negative reviews about the owner of this business, but I found her to be pleasant. She's not in your face and up your a- -, but she is pleasant & I personally prefer that over someone following me around every 5 seconds. I think the man's name is Milton, he's very nice also & makes me laugh. This will definitely be a regular store for me & is well worth the drive. read more

No one asked me if I needed help because they were too busy sitting at the table talking. When I asked if they worked here they seemed annoyed. I went to this Bead Store and was not greeted when we walked. The lady if you can call her that was extremely rude. Didn't even look up. I was a new customer ready to spend some money to get up my bead collection. She made us feel unwelcome, didn't answer questions nicely and wouldn't even have eye contact. She made us feel like we were bothering her. Told my friend she was condescending and wanted to leave. She heard that and raised her voice at me repeating "I'm condescending?" I told her yes and I was leaving. Unbelievable how rude she is! I wanted to support the small business but heck guys I wont go back. I even wanted to take classes which she rudely said "we aren't teaching". Soooo I'm highly disappointed. I felt she didn't want my grand daughters in. I told them to put their hand in their pockets and leave them their. Nothing worse that to be watched as if we were going to take something. Bottom line I'm not going back. Melvin is awesome. He is always my favorite when I come here. Great service and he's knowledgeable and makes good recommendations and has good tips. The ladies who come there to work on projects are great, too! The prices could be a pinch lower but I'm used to buying in bulk so I'm spoiled. For small purchases though, they have a good assortment and it's convenient. The stone bead selection was the best I've seen it in a while, BTW. Their last buying trip was a good one! I gave them a chance. The first time I went they were on Lake Mead. They were pleasant enough. The guy more so than the lady. Went back twice then they moved. I went to the new location and it was the same. Liked him didn't like her. I don't think she should be in customer service at all. Went again and he was nice, I didn't exist to her. Went today and had my beads picked out. The customer at the counter was known to the owner so she was talking and laughing with her. The guy was standing by the class that was going on. Back to me. The customer needed a jump ring to fix something. The owner said "I can fix it for you" and proceeded to do so. I stood there 4 minutes. Never did she look at me and say just a minute or better yet, let me ring her up and then I'll fix it. Bottom line- I put my basket down and walked out. Went to Discount Beads on Durango. Had 3 people ask if I needed help. They acknowledged me when I walked in the store. Bead Haven lost a customer. Maybe the lady should stay in the back of the store and only come to stock the shelves when the store is closed. And maybe they could change the name. Haven is supposed to be a safe place. I visited the store after I met someone at Micheal's who spoke highly of it. I visited the store on 07/08/2020. This was a awful experience. When I entered the store I was never greeted although there is a loud welcome bell when you come in so I know I was noticed. Not a big deal , so I start walking around looking at the different beads and charms and after about 10 minutes I'm finally approached by the owner. I tell her I'm just looking and was referred here etc. I tell her I will let her know if I need help. Well that's when things got interesting. They have these trays marked with the different prices for beads that are unique and I had to figure that out on my own because nothing was explained to be before hand on how the store works. Here's the kicker , little did I know that the owner was profiling me. Everywhere I went in the store, she followed or stayed in very close proximity to watch my every move. At first I thought it was just me, so I went to the front of the store , just for kicks and boom there she was. Then I went to the very back of the store, and boom there she was. Literally everywhere I went I was followed. I was getting pretty upset and when I grabbed a few items ,(still deciding if I was going to spend money here but they had the items I needed for my waist bead business.)and walked to the register. I then confronted the owner stating" I would hate to feel like you profiled me and followed me around the store because I am black. She then put on this "I'm not the problem " act and kept apologizing. She then said "well at least you don't have to come back here and can go to discount beads or somewhere else. " Like how are you going to apologize and then tell me at least I don't have to come back to your establishment. She tried to give me examples of how she isn't racist but I didn't want to hear it! I told her ring my items up and she is lucky she is getting my money. This place is the worst and over priced. You can get a better selection for cheaper anywhere else in Vegas and a better experience. Bead haven is canceled and I will make sure to let everyone know about it! read more
