Awful awful awful service. I cannot stand workers that aren't attentive. Customers should be priority and your customer service is loose and lazy. I entered with hopes that I could get my niece and myself a buy one get one as my coupon suggested, the worker asked "a coupon from what?" I explained that it was from my email. He started getting weird with his ehhhhs and huhhhhs, then said it should be printed out. Okay? But why? I told him we wanted two combos and he slowly moved his lazy behind as he made our meal forgetting what we ordered and what we wanted. Kept pacing himself, and having conversations midway every time interrupting my topping order. Rude worker. He then proceeded to give only my sandwich no cup, no nothing, charged me for a sandwich. I loved this place! I usually don't eat subs and wraps but this place was so delicious. I'm craving it already and I just had it a few hours ago. It's literally a hidden gem. The outside might not look very inviting but you will not regret coming here. The food was clean, healthy, and delicious. There are way more options than I would've expected. I got the chicken wrap and I added provolone cheese, lettuce, and olives, along with chipotle sauce. I never thought I'd like chipotle sauce, but here it's so good. I have been supporting Blimpie at Wayne State for my entire undergraduate career and for my first year currently as a grad student. This was my favorite restaurant until I purchased food last week and ate my food in the restaurant. My mom calls me to meet her over at old main. I go over to old main to meet my mom we talk for about 30 minutes. We leave old main and head back to my car only to find out the owner Nick had my car towed. I asked him if he would call the tow company and have my car released and he told me No. I have lost all respect for him and his shop. I love this this Blimpies, it excels from what you would expect from a chain sub shop and beats out the subways and jimmy john found on campus. The owner Nick who is there working most of the times is one of the nicest and happiest people you'll meet and will put a smile on your face. They have alot of variety in the subs you can get. Two of my favorites are Buffalo Chicken and Turkey, Beef Cheddar. They have also have a flat-screen TV to keep you entertained if you are eating alone. Don't be intimidated if you come in at lunch time and you see a long line. Unlike the other sub-shops on campus which are crewed by apathetic students talking to their friends, Blimpies is unbelievably fast and efficient, you wont wait in line ever for more than 5 mins. If you are driving there are 4-5 spots available on the buildings right side (the ones with "Bs" with them) Interesting note: It is located in a old historical building which served as the headquarters for the ambassador bridge build crew. read more

I work in Old Main a few steps from this blimpie, and I've been there four times. I went there for lunch today, and had the 6in. Italian on ciabatta with a bunch a veggies, a soda and chips, and it was less than 7.00. The person who made my sandwich could see that I wasn't excited about lettuce, so she offered spinach. It was delish! I was in and out and back in my office in 11 minutes including walking time and waiting for 90 cars to go by. I've never parked there, but it looks complicated because of the paid lot right next to the row of spaces saved for blimpie customers. been going to wayne state for four years and never really want to eat anywhere else. the guy that works there is SO nice. there's only one employee from what i've seen but he's always so friendly, cheerful, and glad to serve you. he never seems to have a bad day or skip a beat. he's freaking awesome. if the food wasn't so good, i'd say he was the best thing about the place. he's always smiling and in a great mood. it's like he loves his job or something. even though he seems to be the only guy around, he makes everything in a timely fashion. food's awesome. great price, great ingredients. i'm crazy about the jalapeno cheddar bread because there's actual jalapenos in the bread and not like the flavor of it or a hint of it. actual slices of jalapenos in the bread. hallelujah. and i mean, an 89 cent cup of macaroni salad is the perfect solution for a really broke college student every day as a snack. you really can't complain about it at that point. i like going there on the weekend too when it's nice and quiet. it's nice to watch the tv, do homework, watch people ride their bikes and stuff. it's on a nice, quiet street. no crazy intersection or parking nightmare. sometimes i go to blimpie's to enjoy the fact that i can park in peace and then eat something while i'm at it. the food does not taste like mass produced corporation stuff. it really tastes like a guy in a sandwich shop who really wants to make good sandwiches. even if it is a chain place, it would have fooled me. there really isn't anywhere else to get a sandwich. read more

I came with low expectations. I just wanted a delicious sandwich and refused to go to the usual subway or jimmy johns. I wanted a real deli sandwich with delicious meats and cheeses and original sauces and fresh vegetables... and that's what I got. Not only that but it has more choices for sides than just your usual chips or cookie... it has macaroni and potato salad. A combo is under 7$ and definitely worth it. Best place to eat on Wayne State's campus, food is great, quickly made right in front of your eyes. prices are a little outrages, but figures since its the only good place around campus.
