    Fish Taco!

Absolutely love this place! The indoor/outdoor accessibility with the ample seating is amazing! It gives the perfect setting for a nice afternoon and early evening meal! The staff is super friendly and their limonada agua fresca is SO REFRESHING! I come back for their tuna tostada... it's DELICIOUS!

Step 1. Order at the bar, grab your drink Step 2. Pick a table on the patio Step 3. Food is brought out and enjoy your tacos! Great outdoor dog friendly seating. Good recs by service, enjoyed the fish tacos 1 fresh and 1 fried, both were great! The fried fish had nice crunch, would order 20x more. They have nonalcoholic beer selections too!

Returned to Una Más about 7-8 months after my first visit and it's good to see some progress. Big upgrade: they now have beer on tap, including several from Baja California plus some domestics, which definitely improves the overall experience. Food is still the highlight. I ordered the same burrito as last time and it was just as good. We also tried a few tacos--the potato taco was easily the standout. Service was just average. The person at the counter wasn't very helpful with recommendations and not particularly friendly, which took away a bit from the visit. That said, the atmosphere is still great--casual, welcoming, and very family-friendly. Overall, it feels like they're moving in the right direction. If the service catches up to the food, this place could really shine.

Kid friendly. One zone of toys. Best age is from 2-4. The toy area held my 6 year old's attention for maybe 10 minutes. My 3 year old daughter started running around in circles with me chasing her until our food came. The food here is so so so average to below average. We ordered the brisket taco, the tuna taco, the fish taco, and the chicken fingers. Each taco was maybe 1/5 protein and 4/5 insanly spicy side stuff. I couldn't even taste the proteins and my heat tolerance is high. When I walked by the food truck I noticed a few things. The pico, the sides and the sauces are on the counter. They are not refridgerated. I also so an empty box of chicken fingers from maybe costco if we're lucky. Despite the discrepencies which were way too obvious the vibe here is nice. There are more adults than children which is weird but the exterior sitting is beautiful and well lit, inside has board games. All in all it's nice just do not get your expectations up for food.

I was excited to try this place with my little one as it came recommended from other parent friends for their toy / play area. I ended up being really disappointed with my dinner, but feel like I ordered the wrong thing and should give it another try. Other items people ordered looked much better. The place is perfect for a nice summer day with its beautiful outdoor space. They have indoor seating and bar as well, but the outdoor space is the best part about the place. They have some fake grass with a small toy area for little kids. My toddler loved that part. Food: They have a food truck as their kitchen. My husband ordered the nachos, I got a fish taco, brisket taco, and ended up trying a bite of the potato taco because they gave me potato instead of brisket at first. My husband said the nachos were ok, but they didn't look great to me and were pretty small. The protein portion in the tacos was incredibly small and disappointing. The battered fish was overcooked and the corn tortilla were below average for the area. The brisket taco was served on a flour tortilla, which was much better. There wasn't much of toppings on the tacos either and they were covered in more sauce than I'd like. We got the kids bean and cheese burrito for our son for $6 and I think that was the best thing we ordered. It was a decent size and the flour tortillas seemed to be where this place shined. I would go back to try a regular burrito, crunch wrap or quesadilla. The tostada also looked great. Drinks: They have a bunch of beers on tap, cocktails, a few soft drinks, and a water station. Service: You order at the bar and they bring your food out to you. They were quick to correct my incorrect taco as well.

I love this spot. Tasty beers on tap. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have a TV where they play sports. The tacos are fine. I've had better. But I LOVE the crunch wrap supreme. I also tried the nachos. They were pretty good. But they're fork nachos not hand nachos and they got soggy a little quickly. They were out of a lot of beers one time when I went, but I hadn't had that problem before

It's honestly sad how fast this place fell off faster than you can even say "Una Más." It used to have a solid thing going, but lately it just hasn't been hitting the same. The beer selection is still a bright spot, especially the Baja options, and they still make a solid michi. But beyond that, you can really feel the changes. The staff has completely turned over, and it shows not just in the service, but in the food quality too. Even the vibes feel off now, like the soul of the place dipped out. They've gone back and forth with coffee had it, lost it, brought it back, and now it's gone again with no end in sight. It just adds to the inconsistency. At this point, it honestly feels like an overpriced Taco Bell with alcohol, which is a tough pill to swallow considering what it used to be. Lotería is still happening though, and that might be the one shining light keeping it somewhat worth a visit... for now.

Good place for dinner or drinks after work with friends! The highlight for me was the service. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. They seem like great people. The outdoor patio area is cute with ambient lighting, though the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. They have creative food options that are fun to try, and hit or miss for flavor. The grilled cheese burrito was rather mushy, but ok if I just tried not to think of it as a burrito. I do recommend the Crunchwrap supreme which had a much better balance of texture and flavor. The cocktail list is solid, and there is a small variety of wine and beer options. They were out of almost all of their listed beers so a menu update might be helpful. Cute place for an evening out!

Una Mas cafe porfavor. UnaMas on Adams is a cool spot. They have a bar, check, the have a food truck, check, and the have a coffee kiosk, check. This makes me a happy camper. I stopped in for a cortado and a chorizo breakfast burrito provided by "Burritos de tu Madre," a local small business. The cortado was well made and had a good flavor. It was smooth and rich in good coffee flavor. It was a little heavy on the foam however. The chorizo breakfast burrito was very good, too. It came with queso fresco, beans, and chorizo, not to mention a quality flour tortilla. UnMas offers a lot of good seating with a park-like setting. There's even a small play are for the little ones. This is a very cool spot.

I visited UnaMas on Adams Ave in the University Heights neighborhood during its soft opening period in early August. At that time, their ABC license had not been granted yet, and the operating hours were from 4 to 9 pm on weekdays and noon to 7 pm on weekends. It took multiple attempts before I was able to make a successful visit because I came near their closing time, and the kitchen had already stopped serving food. There was a large outdoor patio that made up most of the seating capacity. The indoor structure housed the bar area and a few tables. The food was prepared by the chef from a mobile trailer on the back of the property. One article described the business as a Baja-SoCal fusion brewpub. The front of the building had a mural painted of the Baja peninsula so the Mexican region was prominently displayed. The food menu had two shareable items, two local tuna dishes, two burritos, three tacos, three crunchwrap supremes, a taco salad, and a dessert. I selected the tacos which cost $15 for the trio. * Doritos Loco Taco - cool ranch, duck confit, bacon, crema * Potato Soft Taco - fireball seasoned Yukon gold, creme fraiche * Spicy Ground Brisket Taco - shredded lettuce, cheese blend, crema, salsa The first two were served on soft tortillas while the last one was served on a crunchy blue corn masa shell. Surprisingly, the vegetarian version was the best of the bunch. Maybe it was because of the seasoning on the potatoes? The ground brisket did pack quite a lot of heat. While waiting for the tacos, I was provided a complimentary offering of the Escabeche Dip. Jalapeno creme fraiche and cheddar cheese were served with blue corn tortilla chips. The dip did have a refreshing flavor, however the $9 regular price was high for the serving size. The place was not very busy on that particular weeknight which meant the staff had ample time to provide excellent service. For the cost and quality of my food, I gave a four star rating for my dining experience at UnaMas on Adams.

This place opened recently and is so darn cute! The staff were all very warm and welcoming. There is seating both inside and outside and the food is made on a food truck inside the restaurant. How fun is that! They also have a little outdoor area for children and it's pet friendly. The tacos were delicious and had a little kick to them! You can mix and match the flavors. The tacos are pretty big! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a cute place to hangout with friends, have a cocktail, and grab a quick bite to eat!

Came in here while bar hopping and it was a super nice play to chill outside with friends! They have a Mexican selection of beers so that was nice! Definitely recommend and is even kid friendly!

The brisket is still lingering in my mind. What a flavor! Tacos are delicious, the tortillas soft and tasty, and they hold together all the delicious filling options! The crunch wrap looks great, I just wasn't hungry enough to crush a whole one, but they also have the brisket option for those! Service was friendly and fast, they had a nice open air casual vibe, and the bathroom was clean lol. Great spot to hold events or just have a casual dinner in Normal Heights. Street parking only.

I did not have anything to eat this time but will try the food next time. KPBS was having their One Book One San Diego event here and I was interested so stopped in today check it out. I am a bookworm and love reading so this event was perfect! This event also unveiled the top 10 books for each category including adults, teens and children. I learned that over 750+ book entries were received! Wow! At my table, I ended up meeting a librarian, a teacher and a publisher. The librarian was part of the selection committee and she suggested so many good books! She mentioned a book about octopus conversation in the atolls and my ears perked up. The book is Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler and its on my shortlist to read soon! Waiting for it on Libby! OK. back to the venue. We had the side part of the bar and everything was outside so that was nice. Service was great and Zach did a great job getting everyone's orders. I started off with a special edition One Book, One Brew beer, brewed in the Kolsch style and limited edition beer by Chula Vista Brewery. Nice, crisp and summery beer! I also had a margarita too, that was so-so for me so next time will stick with beers. Parking around here is a pain but I did find a spot after circling a few times. I ordered a melon drop and it tasted ok, not much alcohol taste, kinda plain. I also ordered honey Brussel sprouts. I understand it's "honey" but the Brussel sprouts were literally soaked in honey, not just a hint of honey. I think they'll taste so much better if they use less honey and add some balsamic to balance out the sweetness or maybe add a hint of spicy to it. I also tried buffalo chicken wings.
