I waited six months and started calling almost monthly now for another six months and still no response. I ordered their product because they guaranteed workmanship. I will never ever contact this business for any of my window treatments/blinds again. I should have learned the first three times . I am embarrassed to say that it has taken me this long. They tell you they will contact you within a few days and they never do. When you call to check because they told you they would call the day before.........they get mad. Not only do they not get back to you in a timely manner BUT the way they talk to you is outrageous. I was completely speechless after I spoke to a women who "handles" the message taking and responses. I felt as if she was scolding a child. In 2011 we chose Blinds Direct to install plantation shutters on our 47 windows and 2 sliding doors. They have supported their product and provided excellent service to fix or adjust anything with the shutters. In 2021 we needed to replace all of our 25 year old windows and about half of the 47 shutters and frames had to be removed for the window installations. Once again Blinds Direct came through. They gave us a fair price and Victor did an excellent job removing and then reinstalling those frames and shutters. He also checked all of the blinds and refurbished them as needed at no extra charge. This is the only time I have come across a business that actually does stand behind their 100 % lifetime guarantee. Don and Alisa have been great over the last 11 years and Victor continues his superb work. Still a 5 Star company. read more

We ordered shades for our office based on a recommendation from one of our clients, which turns out was not a good decision. First the positives, well the only positive comment is that Victor the gentleman who came out to measure and install was great. He was very nice and professional and cleaned up before he left. We were told that the blinds took 4 to 6 weeks and after the 4th week, we started to wonder, so we emailed them. We were told it would be a couple of more weeks, but they would call to let us know. 2 weeks go by and nothing, so we emailed them and they said they were going to contact us (what a coincidence) so we scheduled the install and that day came and went with a no show and no phone call. We emailed the rep and nothing. We tried calling and got a message that the V/M mail box was full and nothing to identify this as a business, just that this mailbox was full. So I decided to drive over and what do you know, no one was there, so I took pictures of the notes on the door and called the cell phone number that was listed for Don, who evidently is the owner. Left a message and nothing. Finally got a call from Alisa to schedule another install. We asked her what happened and she couldn't remember scheduling it and we could forward that email to her. She just glossed over that and with no apology went ahead and scheduled the new appointment. The product is great, but the service here is beyond bad. No apology, ever and no call from Don the owner. Based on the service, I would never go back, nor would I ever recommend. read more

The work they did was ok but erratic. For example, one shade had a rod on the left at 14 inches the other shade had it at like 22 inches so they don't match - another problem one shade had the pull cord on the right - the other on the left. They said they would replace the short rod, but never did. It's virtually impossible to contact him after you pay them. They do not return calls. I've tried to call them eight or 10 times in the last few days and they don't respond. That's really lame. read more

Blinds Direct really stands behind their products, no questions asked. We had a Hunter Douglas shade installed in 2016 by Blinds Direct that had a worn out part. Alisa was able to schedule Victor to come out and repair our shade yesterday afternoon (and after what he thought was his last appointment in San Anselmo!). Victor came in and immediately saw what the problem was. He took the shade down and brought it to his truck to see if the worn-out clutch could be repaired. It could not, but fortunately he had a spare clutch in his truck and in record time brought the shade back into the house and reinstalled it. He is a wizard at what he does, and always is very professional and courteous. We were very pleased at the results. I personally think that it is even more difficult to run a small business during these times of Covid, where getting extra help is challenging and Don, Alisa, and Victor 'running the show' are under a lot of stress to get things done. It behooves all of us continue to support small local businesses, especially in these difficult times, and most especially when they are unable to be as responsive as we may think they should be. We were at first impressed by their knowledge and explanations about the different types of blinds we were considering. We were soon to be moving into a newly-built home and we were shopping for blinds for the entire house. Our problem came when we were actually trying to purchase the blinds... many phone calls not returned, emails not answered, unfulfilled promises to call us back "in 30 min." I agree with others that have stated poor customer service. I called regarding a cord on a small Hunter Douglas blind that needed replacement. I was told that she couldn't reach her installer to find out if he had the needed cord. She blamed covid supply issues for not knowing if he had the cord. She stated she would call me back once she talked to her installer. I called the next day because she had not called me back. She didn't say whether she had the cord, or had talked to her installer. She stated that she would be calling me back to set up an appointment for me to bring my blinds in. I knew at that point she would not be calling me back. The two phones calls I made the following week went directly to voice mail with no return phone calls. I purchased a blind repair kit from Amazon for $8 and replaced the cord myself after watching a video on YouTube. Granted it was a small job, but I had purchased the shutters and blinds for my entire home from them. I expected better customer service from them. read more

We had blinds installed in our home a few years back and one of them recently broke. We couldn't remember where we ordered them from so we tried calling Blinds Direct. Alisha helped me out, couldn't find us in the system but told me where to find info on the blinds and had me email it over to her. She went out of her way and researched where the blinds were from. The blinds unfortunately weren't through them, but she went out of her way to help us. If it wasn't for the warranty on the blinds we would without a doubt use Blinds Direct. If your looking for blinds or shutters this is definitely the place to go! The service is professional from the beginning when the estimate is given all the way through to the install. We ordered our blinds and were told they would be about 4 to 5 weeks, we really wanted them installed before the Fathers Day weekend, but that was only approximately 3.5 to 4 weeks after we ordered them. We kept our fingers crossed and were so happy to have them delivered and installed the Wednesday prior to the Father Day weekend. We love how they look (and so does everyone that comes into our home!) and will certainly go there for any window coverings that may be needed in the future. I had to call them 4 times to get them to schedule a time to come out and measure so I could place an order. Then the guy no showed for our appointment after I had planned my week around the appointment. I called the office an hour after he was supposed to show and the owners wife told me she would call me back to set up a new appointment time. No call back ever.
