I've been a member of Blink fitness for going on about 5 years now and since I've moved to Baldwin, had to transfer my main location in their system. I stopped by a few weeks to finally make it official and they made the transition as seamless as possible. I mentioned I had actually lost my key pass a while back and they generously hooked me up with a replacement for free. While the parking lot is usually busy, I've always managed to find a spot pretty close to the entrance. Whenever I go, there only seems to be about 15 or 20 people there max. Keep in mind, I'm usually there in the evenings at about 6pm on weekends and super early in the morning during the week. I'm sure right after week is must get pretty busy, but at most gyms that's to be expected. The staff are always friendly and the there's always someone attending to lose weights that gym goers may "forget" to put back. The one thing I'm not the biggest fan of is the roping off of the water fountain, but while annoying, I do understand it is a precautionary measure for covid. While this Blink is way smaller than others I've been to, they do have a real nice selection of machines and cables, as well as a few key stretching apparatus', which I don't normally find in other gyms. Blink is definitely my favorite "chain gym" ... it's something about the smooth colors and cool choice of music that make Blink my preferred gym. I go to the Blink at Baldwin in whenever I'm staying in Long Island. I have absolutely no complaints: the staff is super friendly and the gym is always super clean. During the height of the pandemic, before restrictions were lifted, they took social distancing, capacity limit, and sanitizing very seriously. I've been coming here for 8 years and loved this gym. It had taken a dramatic decline in the last few weeks. Today, at noon, a bunch of us waited outside for the locksmith to get the lock open. They took out all the life fitness machine and replaced them with about %30 less Matrix machines so the wait for a machine is now increased. The staff said they replaced many of the machines with lifting benches. The new machines are not as ergonomically comfortable to use. You feel too short or tall on half of them despite adjustments. The friendly staff says they don't know what's going on and they know things don't make sense. Please consider bringing back some of the old life fitness machines, there a lot of room on the floor for it. read more

I've been coming here for years since it's opening and it's always been the same. I like coming here it's close to home and it has working equipment. It's not a big gym with a pool, sauna, indoor gym, or anything that places like X-sport would have but it doesn't matter to me. Honestly I love just walking in doing what I need to do in there and leaving. Everybody inside here community wise are very respectful to each other. I've never had or seen anyone getting into any disputes over a machine here or anything. The staff are cool and they are eager to help answer questions you might have. What I also love is they don't try to force things down your throat like places like X-sport does. It's a chill environment. It's kept pretty decent in the cleanliness department, even the bathrooms are routinely maintained. I've neve had an issue here with anybody not once. the conditions at this location have drastically declined since the passing of the beloved manager. the new manager is really the worst i have seen in all my years of being a member. she (dulce) is the epitome of unprofessionalism. to say the least...she is atrocious, offensive and intolerable. numerous staff members have called it quits since her arrival, and many members have left or planning to leave. something needs to be done, and fast; dignity needs to be restored, and that will be virtually impossible with her there. read more

Great staff, friendly and helpful. Gym is very clean! There's always people walking around sanitizing the machines and equipment. Plenty of disinfecting wipes so the consumer can wipe down the machine or equipment they are using. I've been coming here for 4 months and never had a problem or issue. In fact I highly recommend this gym. My only complaint is that there's no sauna or steam room and after a good workout that steam room would be great! read more

It is a basic gym. I think they have stepped up the cleaning and customer service since the pandemic. I only advise people to prepare by checking how crowded it might be before going. It can get crowded sometimes. I came over from LA Fitness 4 yrs it so ago for a change of scenery. I'm still pleased. Have been a member almost a year. Tonight I decided this was no longer the gym for us. So many issues that I can't ignore anymore. Extremely judgmental front desk. When you talk about the members be sure they are not in earshot to say very discriminatory language. The gym smells bad. Parking is ridiculous. Even the handicapped parking is always full with members that have no placard or plate because they know nothing will be done. Gym is too crowded. Not enough machines with too many members sitting at machines on their phones not using them. Again, staff is not friendly, curt, borderline rude. Unfortunately it's just not a pleasant place to go or be in. Still waiting on my so called free personal training session. Think I'll go to a more personalized training facility. So I decided to leave my current gym to try out Blink Fitness! I walked in to an employee assisting me right away. She gave me the two options I can pick for my membership. And suggested which is the better and safest option. Which also happen to be the cheaper plan. I filled out my information on the computer, got to take and choose my own pic #Selfie, received my membership key holder card(color of my choice) And was set in 5mins or less. I also signed up just in time to receive 1 free training session. Which I booked right away. I love the fact that they are opened at 5am so I can leave my son at home sleeping while I run there before work. Because unfortunately they do not offer any childcare services. Altho the have an area for more mature kids to sit and perhaps do homework while they wait for mom & dad. My 4yro would never sit still in that area. The memberships to choose from are very inexpensive and convenient!! Soooo excited to start tomorrow.....since I didn't carry any gym clothes with today! read more

I became a member of this Blink location about a month ago. I've been to other local area gyms such as New York Sports Club, LA Fitness and Crunch. I decided on this one for its convenience (about 5 minutes from my home) and the price ($20/month and this includes a guest with every visit). I debated whether I should take stars away because this is really a bare bones gym - no pool, studio, or classes. For the price, you really can't expect much but for a few bucks more a month, you can at least get one of those amenities from Blink's competitors. Crunch, for example, offers almost the same pricing and guest privileges but they have the plus-up of having classes and large studio (just sayin'). Anyway, besides the location, I love that Blink has a ton of equipment and weights so that there's never a wait for a bench or the majority of their machines. For the most part, the folks that frequent this gym re-rack their weights and clean the machines after use. There are also custodians cleaning throughout the day. That's a huge deal for me because I can't stand gyms that are allowed by staff members to stay messy. In terms of equipment, I can't complain. I mostly do weight training and barely touch the cardio machines but there's so many of each cardio machine that I'd be surprised if anyone ever had to wait for any. The weight equipment on busy days/times are usually free. The one machine that can have a bit of a wait is the assisted pull up machine. There's only one in the entire gym so there's always someone using it. Overall, if you're okay with "just a gym" and live in the area this is a pretty good contender. For $20/month, I get to visit other Blink gyms (non-NYC) and there's also a Blink Baldwin only price for $15/month. Beware though, if you want to cancel before a year, there's a penalty charge. I was a member of Crunch beforehand so I'm used to gyms making you fly through hoops to cancel and Blink's policy is actually not as bad as some I've seen. read more

In my opinion this is the most spacious Blink I've been too compared to Blink, NoHo, Manhattan 30thst street, Sheepshead Bay, Melville, and don't even get me started with Jackson Heights and Astoria. I consider the facility better than Murray Hill and Murray Hill is pretty dam nice. I can't wait for 54th too open cause it should be nice up there. Now enough about the facade and nice gym equipment. My beef is with the clientele. The patrons are rough around the edges and have no gym etiquette in my opinion. How does one ask to work in with you on the cables but completely change the position and weight of the set up. It didn't happen once but majority of the time I have gone to Baldwin. Having like 10 people around or using one machine can be pretty annoying too. The place has enough equipment and space but some people are just set in their ways or just want to inconvenience other people just cause they can. All I have to say is I can't wait for Valley Stream to open and if it's a similar workout environment then I would have to start entertaining the competition such as LA or the Sports Club...maybe 24 doesn't sound to bad at the moment after their acquisition of Bally's. read more

It's an alright-bare-bones-nothing-crazy type gym that has memberships for $15 and up. If you live nearby, it's a good place to get your workout in if you go at good hours (not after work). There's no frills, but you're paying $15, so. I'm moving and it cost me $60 + prorated month rate ($74 total) just to cancel because I canceled before being a member for a year. Frustrating that the cancellation fee itself is the equivalent to four months membership. Come on, give me a break! Luckily I joined Orangetheory Fitness in RVC last month and have been addicted to it, and now that I'm moving out of state, they have locations nationwide. I'll stick with them. read more

Clean bright gym, plenty of cardio equipment, never a long wait. By 7:00, this place is jumping. I dont mind a busy gym though. What I've noticed is that most of the people put back their weights, a practice that is not familiar with the other gym I go to, Synergy. The club manager here does walk throughs. Makes a huge difference. When people see that, they will care too, I think that's why people rerack their weights, it's a new gym, it's real clean, I think current members want it to remain that way, myself included. I've been using this facility due to the fact that the one in Valley Stream has yet open. I've been waiting since January for this to happen. Other than that it's not as big as Xsport or LA Fitness in Roosevelt Field or have all the equipment I'm use to but it's doable. Actually even more affordable than those gyms. At this moment it is ok and so far it's clean and organized. And because it's not as big there is certain equipment they only have one of. So if someone's on it, you have to wait your turn. Very tricky place if you sign for Personal trainer. They will continue to charge your credit card even after you asked them stop the service. My assigned personal trainer Paul told me everything is set after I told him I will not continue the private sessions only to see a charge in my credit card. The manager then told me I did not sign the termination paper and that's why I got charged and there is no going back to get my money for the service I did not get or request.
