I was happy that they were able to accommodate me for a pedicure later that afternoon. Things I loved about them: 1) Quick response and scheduling 2) Transparent pricing on their site - be aware there is a card fee if you use your credit card 3) Friendly welcome 4) On-time service: I arrived on the dot for my service and was promptly directed to the nails area for my pedicure 5) Helen did a wonderful job with the pedicure, she even helped me pick out the color! The salon is located in a plaza with plenty of complimentary parking. Located along the waterways of Foster City with plenty of natural light, the vibe is relaxing and pleasant. Just left the salon with a disappointing experience. I originally scheduled my appointment to be on a Saturday at 215PM with a specific stylist and on Thursday, Bliss & Blade called me to inform that he was busy at that time and I asked if anyone else was available at the time to accommodate. They said yes no problem, and even sent a confirmation email to me on Friday with who I'd be seeing. Great, no problem. I arrive minutes before 215PM and they informed me that it'll be just a few minutes until I get seated. This is a 3 day weekend on a Saturday so I knew it was going to be already busy. Again, no problem. 15 minutes passes by, still waiting as my stylist is busy with another client, no problem. 30 minutes passes, still waiting. During this time, I do get asked was "please show us a picture of what highlights you'd like to get". Keep in mind that this is the only acknowledgement I get during while waiting, nothing like "thank you for waiting, appreciate your patience". As 45 minutes passes by, I can see that my stylist is still working on his client and probably won't be done for god knows how long at this point. so I thought it is not worth it and just asked the front desk to reschedule my appointment. It is only then I get an apology. Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience, given the amount of great service I have received here numerous times previously and just cancelled when I got hime. I'm not so sure if I want to return. read more

I booked a last minute and much needed haircut with Fernanda. It was my first time here. And my first haircut in 2 years! My hair was very damaged and needed care. Fernanda was very nice and happy to help with my transformation. I loved how she cut my hair and did it exactly like the inspiration photo. She also kept complimenting my curl/wave pattern which I know can be hard to deal with. She made me feel good about myself. I also found out that she is from the same state as my husband in Brasil which made me feel at home. The professionalism of the staff and Fernanda made me want to come back to do a balayage next week. I think her name was Paula at the front desk was also very kind and welcoming. She offered me a drink when I came in and helped translate in Portuguese to Fernanda to make sure I got exactly what I was asking for. And it was also very nice to call me to let me know in advance that they were running a little behind. I am looking forward to my next appointment. My hair already feels much healthier, lighter, and looks more full. And lastly, the salon is beautiful. Everything is clean and looks new. The lighting is great inside. Needed a hair cut and noticed that Foster City had a true barber shop. It was about 5:30pm and no appointment. They said I could get a cut in 15 min. Boy that was the best 15 minutes I have waited in a long time. Drinks alcoholic and sodas we offered by truly friendly and kind staff. Junio, also a stylist, introduced himself and I showed him an old picture of how I wanted the cut. To come right to the point, it was the best, most thorough haircut I have gotten in years. Don't get fooled by the aesthetic interior. Yes it's nice but that's about it. I booked a cut with a certain barber with a high review, assuming he'll be good as a first time visit. He said he was an experienced barber in his bio, so I tried him out. Arrived at the shop, was greeted by front desk, sat me down. And he asked me if I speak spanish... and in my head I was like, (what do you mean? ... wtf) so yes the barber does not speak Spanish, nothing wrong with that but in a place where communication and instruction are key, it's very crucial to understand each other especially for a person who likes their cut a certain way. So I said no, I dont speak spanish, so one guy came in and started translating for me, I explained what I want and he said okay and he translated to my barber... long story short, he made my cut like a bowl cut, and I was like you're still gonna fade it right? And the other guy came back saying that this is what I instructed him to do, like duh why would I instruct someone to do a bowl cut on me... anyways the guys fixed it, and he literally just ran size clipper 1 from side and up.... All the way around my head... no fade at all... i was not even asking for a complicated cut... if you're looking for a simple buzz cut, no fade, nothing special and speaks fluent spanish, you can go here... but if you dont speak spanish and looking for a modern cut, DO NOT go here. I went and looked back on their website, turned out that the guy I booked was not even the guy who cut my hair... he was new and had no reviews at all on their site... wth?! nice right?! We went to originally because it was opened close to our house. My son and I both got haircuts there. The problem was that many of the employees don't speak English, which is fine however they speak Portuguese and it becomes more challenging for them to understand what kind of haircut you want regardless they still did a pretty good job. However, the last two times I went there they lost my reservation and then told me they could take me as soon as the guy who was in the seat was finished. The person in the seat actually was struggling to get their haircut done the way they wanted it to be done and the person cutting It couldn't understand what they wanted done Anyhow, when that person left the chair, the barber took someone who just walked in, who apparently was a friend of his while I was standing there waiting, and I looked at the guy who told me that I was Next and I said well and I'll just come back and as I left, he tried to run out and tell me it would only be five minutes The lack of professionalism over the past two visits is why I write this review be cautious when you try to reserve a spot and then realize that when you do come in, it's more likely that they'll take somebody in front of you that they know rather than you who they don't know I used to experience this when I went for dim sum in New York City until they realized I spoke Chinese. Then when my number was called i was taken Anyhow, for a place that isn't that busy it still is difficult to get a haircut and although it is close to my house, I think I'm gonna go travel outside the city to get my services done with more consistency and professionalism read more

Cutting a straight bob needs skill, and she worked very precisely and detail-oriented. You can tell she is a true professional with over 25 years of experience and training in Europe.
