I came in for a spa pedicure and added a callous remover ($45+$15). I tipped $4 at the end of my service. The staff are professional. Greeted with smiles and appreciative of their easiness to be seated. The rating reflects on the finished pedicure. The woman who completed my pedicure shared that she had to do the callous remover twice. IMO, if I'm investing a premium amount to add on a callous remover, I would hope the service would be fully complete. And because it wasn't as thorough as the first time, I appreciated her efforts a second time (she did it without me having to ask her to do it again). Another odd factor, was the shape of the pedicured toes. Some are half square rounded and others are half rounded on random toes. Finally, I had to request to take out the nail polish that was left behind on my skin so it was clean. Overall, I think the quality is not what I was expecting for $60 but I haven't tried other services. So I'm hoping my case was a one off. Apologies, I have to update my experience as time went on, so did the service. Appointment: 1pm Serviced: 2pm Before service: I called for a 1pm appointment for mani pedi, I arrived and was seated for a pedicure. Waited 1 hour for service to officially start. I didn't want to get up and leave since they already soaked my feet in and didn't want to appear rude. During service: Pedicure - it felt rush as people kept coming in and taking a seat to wait for their turn. There were times when she was cleaning my nails without looking. Gel Manicure - i didn't want gel but she initiated the base polish for gel and I didn't know so it was too late. She didn't shape my nails or work on my cuticles. Just removed previous gel, cut my nails, quick file and proceed with polishing not cleaning off the filed nails. Overall, i appreciate the service but price is not worth $85. read more

I have been looking for something local and when I mean, local, I mean within walking distance, and although this is a little trek for me, I was happy to know that they were able to fit me in. The salon was very clean at first because I am new. I felt like they were standoffish however I requested a gel pedicure. Here's an honest review. I initially put 1 star because of how bad my nails turned out but I added a star because of the super cool chick I met the first time I came. Yeah, she totally scratched more than one finger and I had cuts that had to heal but convo was great. This second time however ... horrible. I don't actually care about poor customer service as long as the service I receive is quality work and that isn't the case here. My nails look like I got them done two weeks ago. I requested an appointment with Vivian who I had a great experience last time but was serviced by someone else. The gel manicure was sloppy and I had to keep pointing out places where the polish was on my skin. She was rough with my cuticles and cut two of my fingers where I needed bandaids since I was bleeding. I still paid full price with tip but am very unsatisfied. Never again! Went here for a mani-pedi. One person (I hesitate to say nail technician) did my feet, while another did my gel mani. The person doing my feet was ok, but the gel mani was awful! First off, the nail polish selection does not look very clean. The person cured the gel then tried to clean up the excess on my skin with either a nail file or a pair of cuticle nippers. With the nippers, she preceded to cut my skin on one of my finger pads. She murmured that I must be "sensitive". No, I corrected her, you cut me!. She then said she'd put some "medicine" on it. She pulls out a small bottle of a green liquid called Kids (something or other)-the active ingredient was lidocaine (a topical pain reliever like a dentist would use!). I refused! She was apologetic, but removing a cured gel with nippers-really? I called the owner over to tell her what happened and showed her were was still polish on my skin. The owner again looked at my toes and hands, did some additional touch-up, but there is still polish on my skin. In addition, usually when I've gotten a mani/pedi, they give you a nice hand/foot massage-not here. It's been 2 hours and my finger still hurts. Beware! read more

I came in here to kill some time during rush hour traffic and it was actually empty in this spot. I asked for a gel mani and this guy did it (forget his name). I sat down at a mani station. He asked me what shape I liked and started to make them square round. He was pretty quick with it, but didn't do the best job with the cuticles. Kind of weird, but other nail salons I have gone to do a hand scrub with manis, he told me to walk over to the sink to wash my hands before painting them. Not sure why, but that was interesting. He painted pretty quickly and efficiently which was absolutely great. And it also helped that doing gel insured that it would dry fast. After careful inspection after the mani, I would say it was a quick and decent job for a mani. I was in and out in like 30 mins or so. That's pretty fast but this is not my fave spot to get my nails done. I think I'll stick to my usual spot in the city! Total for gel mani: $35 read more

I called this salon at 10 am for a 12pm appt for a full set and pedicure. Upon arrival I was asked to wait. I sat for 30 min and then was told To sit in the pedicure chair. I sat in the pedi chair for another 45 min until my water was COLD! Before someone got to me. They told me someone was out with an emergency I understood that so I tried to just enjoy my pedicure. The woman didnt scrub my feet she gave me a poor rushed paint job. Then I go to the chair to have my hands done. Updating my review. I was definitely being nice in my last review but my recent experience made me never wanna go back BEWARE!! They use MMA monomer which is SO bad for your nails. I only realized this when I did a soak off at another salon and they told me..Google it or search YouTube or Tik Tok for MMA acrylic and why it's bad! MMA monomer is illegal to use and is extremely toxic. You can tell the difference because when you soak EMA (legal) acrylic off it should flake. MMA acrylic will look slimey (which is what happened with mine). When I got my last acrylic set she ripped off my dip powder nails and made me BLEED on two different nails from ripping them off. She also drills down to the natural nail bed and is not gentle at all. I cant believe I still left a tip for such a terrible job... read more

I would not recommend. I stopped getting my nails done here because she would never paint my whole nail and they would be dull in spots and chip easily. I still got pedicures but ended up with a fungus. The last time I had an appointment she was 15 minutes late to open and I called her to see if she was coming and she said she would be another 20 more minutes. First time here especially during the Covid, You make an appointment online or on the phone and then when you walk in everything is very clean and you wash your hands with the santizer then check in. Everyone of course is wearing their masks, I wore two of them on my face up to my eyes. The tech is sitting at plexiglass between you and the tech and each time she put the bottom coat and nail polish and top coat the tech used her sanitizer lot of times, afterward the tech cleaned her tools twice in a smelling liquid and then dry them and when she took the tools out they were in sealed plastic container. I felt safer here then in the grocery stores, and color and massage was very good too. I will sincerely be back next manicure for sure since this salon is only 8 minutes from my house in Foster City. I want to mention that prior to writing this yelp I reached out to the business and asked that we work things out between each other, I was asked to call - I refused because I wanted it all documented and sent the pics along with my response and have not heard back from Vivian. I went in around 10am and they had me wait a few minutes as I was a walk in, not an issue. They then had me sit down with a man who was removing my gel polish, in his attempt at doing so, he cut me with the drill. I was then sent over to sit with Vivian, who made note of how horrible my last manicurist was and how multiple people had started seeing her since leaving my manicurist. I just sat there and nodded my head, because I know my guy is amazing, and the reason I made the attempt to get services at La Bella was because I live literally across the street. Now to my nails, I told her what I wanted - she told me NO because I needed a new set (This would have been my 3rd re-fil on the new set I got 8 weeks ago) During the time in her chair she cut me twice, now this is where I knew she was way off her game, as I bled she continued to put the acrylic at the wound and was pulling the blood into the bed of my nails. I continued to pull my hand back - and she finally switched to my other hand. While working on my other hand she cut me again, this time real deep and under my nail. She then "painted" my nails my cuticles were drowning in polish, the clear was dripping on to my finger and when I put it under the light it began to burn - I yanked my hand out and she said no problem just let it keep going - I told her no, its on my skin, so she then blamed me - said I put my hand in the light wrong. (This is not ROCKET SCIENCE) but whatever.... I paid, even tipped because I didn't realize how bad my nails were until I left. Within 30 minutes I had lifting, the acrylic on my nail beds and all down the sides and beds and spread on to my fingers as well as all the nicks and cuts I left with. I should also mention, I have had my nails done religiously for the last 20 years, I get that sometimes you get nicked sometimes you get cut - but that isnt where the problem ends - after going to get my nails fixed the same day (at my regular salon and another $45) because I couldn't stand to look at my hands without disgust I realize that the cut under my nail was inflamed and infected. So on top of my nails looking like crap, I now had a throbbing finger from this. First of all, I'd like to say this is a bad experience for me. I fully understand and respect male staff. But today, the male who helped me with my pedicure, I think he is unqualified. He is not even familiar with the whole process of pedicure because he needs to ask his colleagues what to do next. At the same time, he couldn't find the tools he needs to use; he couldn't did a good job of removing dead skin of my heel; he forgot to massage my feet. All above, this is an unqualified service. Then another male helped me with me manicure. This male is better than the male who made my pedicure. He knows the process and what he is doing. But in terms of results, I am looking forward to getting more delicate nails. In short, I am not satisfied with this service. I believe that I get better service and more beautiful nails in other places with $75. read more
