What a standout Korean-style bakery! They have all my favorites plus a few you don't see in some others. I love the traditional style buns like tapioca buns which I love. Dare I say Bliss has one of the best? The location is super convenient inside the Korean market and parking is a breeze. They're lemon-flavored. We love lemon-flavored desserts. The sugar is well mixed & melted, so you don't feel like you're crunching on sugar cubes. Entenmann's & other brands available at supermarkets/groceries should take notes. They have several delicious looking pre-wrapped baked goods (matcha, ube, red bean & more flavored breads) laid out for a grab-n-go situation. And they also have more specialized pastries and cakes (super cute looking) behind a glass case. I tried several of the selections and liked all of them. Normally, I love this place and usually buy their cakes for special occasions. However, today, on my mother's birthday, I ordered a red velvet cake. The cake was labeled as red velvet, and when I asked the staff for it, I trusted the label without questioning it further as well as trusted the staff . Unfortunately, when we cut into it, we discovered it was actually a blueberry cake. First time at the Little Tokyo Market/Mall and I'm glad we stopped by to get some baked goods. I picked up a mocha roulette cake and now I wish I had gotten more than one since the location is a bit far for me to go whenever I please. The mocha flavor wasn't overly strong, if anything I think it was perfect. The cake was not too sweet as well, it was very light and airy and just the best-tasting cake I've had in a looooong time. I wish they had other locations or online ordering, but if I am ever in the area again, I will most likely stop by and buy some more! On the day of someone's birthday, they spelled my best friends name wrong and took no responsibility. They said there is no baker here and there's nothing they can do. 3.5 stars. The bakery is located on the first floor of the shopping plaza, inside the market at the end of the hallway. I purchased three macarons for $2 each: green tea, cinnamon, and salted caramel. They were all pretty good, and had the perfectly soft texture and egg-frail like shells that macarons are supposed to have. (You'd be surprised how many stale and dry macarons I've had in the past few months). Came in here to buy a birthday cake and found the perfect one(tasty too)! The prices for the cakes were reasonable and the cake was moist and flavorful. I got the tiramisu cake and the lady put a special chocolate on top that said happy birthday on it, super sweet of her! They have a variety of different kinds of breads as well. My favorite is the red bean one and the cream bread as well. When I bought the cake, the two ladies that helped me gave me some free bread to take home as well. I was roaming around in Little Tokyo after dinner tonight and came upon Bliss Bakery. I was there right before closing ~8:40 pm and was told pastries/buns were "buy 2 get 1 free." I was obviously intrigued and decided to take a look. I ended up with a jalapeno cheese bun, almond cheese bun, and a mocha bun with chocolate filling. I was planning on eating my stash for breakfast over the next few days, but couldn't resist sneaking a bite. The buns are exactly how I had hoped. Soft, delicious, creamy filling. The two individuals working at the bakery were very nice. Even though I was cutting it close to their closing time, they never rushed me. The woman was bustling about trying to re-arrange the bread tags and I'm sure I was just getting in her way. The gentleman was so helpful and answered all my questions about the buns. He gave great recommendations and overall was quite pleasant to chat with. Do check out the bakery if you're in the neighborhood. But besides that point this little bakery looks really cute and it makes you feel like you should go in this store. But I would suggest you to stay out of it unless you like eating not so delicious bakery goods. Sometimes I wonder why do things look so pretty but when you take a bite out of it...that is a whole new story...of digustingness.!! This bakery is HANDS DOWN my favorite bakery I've been to in Los Angeles. It's located inside Little Tokyo Marketplace (in the actual market) near the back by the hot food, sushi, and teriyaki restaurant. I can literally say I'm here every single morning to get my favorite pastries and breads. I'm pretty sure everyone who works there recognizes me at this point. They have a wide variety of pastries, cakes, breads, sandwiches, and drinks. I've tried about 70% of their breads/pastries/cakes and I've yet to find one I dislike. My favorites are the sausage bread, guava pastry, cheese pastry, donut twist, roll cake, and chocolate sponge cake. I also really enjoy their curry croquettes. Everything has the perfect level of sweetness for anyone to enjoy. They have samples out front of many of their breads so you can get a taste before choosing. I absolutely love the staff as they're all such kind and welcoming people. They sometimes throw in an extra pastry because I'm always buying so many. Pro tip! If you go in the evening, they have a buy 2 get 1 free sale to get rid of the rest of the pastries they didn't sale that day. I don't come here that often (since it's all the way out in Little Tokyo), but when I do, my parents would order the bread with cream cheese and cranberry. It's SO GOOD and one of their popular kinds of bread. Also, their animal cakes are so cute! Just a heads up, there are FREE SAMPLES in a container outside the bakery. It's so convenient because you can taste the different kinds of bread and decide which one you want. Prices are reasonable (~$1-2 per bread). (Review based on 3.5 stars) This bakery is located in the Woori Market, on the 1st floor. I came by here after having dinner at Shojin (3rd floor). I was here around 8:40 pm and the person behind the register told me that all the baked goods on this one table was a special buy 2, get 1 item free. So I purchased 3 baked items (not sure what is the name of the items I purchased). When I was about to pay, I saw the Manja with chestnut wrapped in a plastic bag in a pile right next to the register. I asked the guy what it was and he tried his best to explain it to me and so I just decided to get it. But I was pretty surprised to see it being $4 on my receipt. If I had not purchased that, then my total would have been $2.75, which isn't bad for 3 baked goods. Anyways, the Manja was good, it is filled with white bean which was a nice change from typically finding red bean in most Asian baked goods. But I am quite sure if this was worth $4. I tried some kind of sweet baked item (again, don't know what it was) that reminded me of a donut. The bread was firm and some what crisp like a donut but was a little dry. By the way, if you purchase anything at this bakery or in the market, you get 2 hours free in the parking structure (and you can actually combine the validations, according to the parking attendant). But you could always park in the parking lot right next to the market and not have to worry about parking validation. Anyways, this bakery is a little on the smaller side. The cashier working was friendly and spoke English. My husband paid in cash, but the bakery does take credit card. I would come by here next time if I was shopping in the market. read more

I often buy their bread with sweet stuffing (taro, pumpkins, sweet potato etc) because I really like it. I used to go to 85 degrees all the time but I come to this place more often these days. Today, I bought a whole cake for my friend's birthday (mocha flavor) from here because their bread is yummy so I wanted to give the cake a try. My friend and I were very happy with the flavor and service was great!! They gave me extra bread as "bonus" in addition of candles and cake cutting knife for the cake. They often have $1 sale at night for the left over breads and it's such a waste--they are at such a hidden location. This bakery replaced the old Japanese bakery at former Mitsuwa market. I wanted to get some goodies for my niece and this place was on the way. Crowded place with mobs getting baked goods like there's no tomorrow. I was impressed and amazed at both the basic Korean stuff (red bean donut, sweet potato bread), Japanese stuff (sweet cream sandwich, melon bread), American stuff (muffins) and Porto's wannabes (cheese rolls and guava rolls). Got chocolate chips muffin, red bean donuts, cheese and guava rolls for my niece. Got cheese roll, guava roll, brown sugar bread that's hollow in the middle and sweet cream sandwich for me and my love. It was kinda hard waiting in line since there wasn't really enough room to form a line. Everyone was just scattered around the register. I didn't know the guy next to me was in front of me and he didn't say anything. Cheese Roll and Guava Roll: not as good as Porto's but not bad. 3 stars. Brown Sugar Bread: I shared this with my co-worked. She loved it and I didn't. 2 stars. Sweet Cream Sandwich: so disappointed. One of my favorite sweet cream bread is from Mammoth bakery in Gardena. Came in today with my sister for a birthday cake. I was greeted right away by a kind and funny older Korean man and then a very sweet older Korean woman took the cake and packed it for us. Right before we left the Korean woman said something in what I think was Korean. I'm not Korean so I'm not entirely sure. However, I assume it was sweet and lovely cause then she gave us free pastries. If you see this message ma'am, thank you and please know I appreciated that moment so much it made my day. The cake was AWESOME! We got the fruit cake. It was moist and not too sweet. The free pastries we got were great too! Not sure what they were but one of them had almonds on it. That was my favorite.
