Went in yesterday around noon to check out this Déjà Vu Cakes and [[HIGHLIGHT]]instantly the aroma of the freshness welcomed me in with open arms and good vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have been here twice in the past, but not in a long time. Needed to buy a box of yummy cupcakes for my friend's birthday and wanted few for me and my son. Rubina, the owner being so sweet, kind, nice, and helpful helped me to choose variety of cupcakes for my friend, and also helped me to decide what my cravings were.? I went with like 6 cupcakes of different kind, and they looked AMAZING!! Got Chocolate cupcake, berry cupcake with light frosting on top, & Red Velvet Cupcake for me and my son to share. Their cupcakes are seriously addicting, in the most dangerous way!:-) They are light, fresh, yummy, and full of flavor w/out being too sweet. Simply irresistible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a clean shop, cute, quaint, and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They only make cupcakes. No other types of goodies. Just letting you guys know. They do deliveries and small catering for your occasions. Moderate prices. Plenty of parking shared with numerous businesses and one last thing; go see the owner and she will help you to pick out your favorites!
I'm here to give love to the blueberry cupcake. The cake texture is light and airy, with a fresh blueberry baked into each bite. And the icing is textured, like a true blend of blueberries in a gently sweetened cream. No heavy sugars, no artificial flavors. So if you're looking for that Susie Cakes sugar rush, you won't find it here. This is for those that have an affinity for the subtle nuances in flavor profiles. The chocolate varieties taste similar to what my wife makes - you can taste the intensity of the natural chocolate flavor thanks to espresso. It's the secret to a deep, beautiful chocolate batter. The owners are lovely as well. The lady took the time to go over the flavors and explain the lack of heavy sugars. Delicious delicious delicious! I am not typically a cupcake person. When I want sweets, I usually go for like a chocolate bar or maybe ice cream, but I will always make a stop at Deja Vu when I am in the Studio City area. I have dropped by for the occasional afternoon treat with my son and also have taken their cupcakes to friend's parties. They were loved by all! They are so beautifully presented you can tell that they put a lot of love into what they do. I love that the flavors rotate seasonally and they have just the best customer service. I have never had a bad flavor here. Their buttercream is bomb.com and their chocolate flavors are probably my favorite. Highly highly recommend!
It's been a minute since I've ordered, been craving them for a while now. Finally got my cupcakes. Never disappoint always consistent. I've tried several desserts/cupcakes and I always go back to déjà vu cakes. I'm not good at taking photos of the items I order but I'll do better cause they are a must to try.
Scrumptious cupcakes, they felt so fresh, had the right amount of sweetness and light, airy cream. Yummy! They had only two vegan cupcakes- chocolate and vanilla, the vanilla was simply delicious, I would go back to the shop for this again. My family had the ube cupcakes and they loved it a lot. I just wish that they had more vegan flavors.

I had a hair appointment and my stylist, Evgenia told me about Deja Vu Cakes when I told her I was thinking of grabbing a sweet treat on the way home. She said she found a bakery that made fresh, homemade cupcakes with a whipped frosting that'll cure my sweet tooth. So homemade that once all the cupcakes are sold, the bakery closes, too. Then she really blew my mind and mentioned that they make an "Ube" cupcake and that's when I was sold. No one around here knows what "Ube" is! That's when I decided that I definitely had to go. She told me if I do stop in, to let her know if they have the Ube cupcake because if they do, she was going to stop by and grab a few. She said she was told that the Ube cupcake was seasonal and was going to be back around Mother's Day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bakery is nestled in a small inline strip shopping center. There is parking but it's pretty tight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you walk in, it's very welcoming and warm. The bakers, possibly owners will greet you when you come in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was busy when I arrived as people where coming and going and I noticed almost all the cupcakes were gone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was 5 pm though so I'm sure I arrived a couple hours before closing! We got the Crazy Carrot, Blueberry Cheesecake, Almond Lemon and Blueberry Lemon cupcakes. Holy Toledo, those cupcakes were moist, delicious and flavorful. The frosting was perfectly sweet. Every bite into each cupcake was heavenly. My favorite was the Crazy Carrot cupcake but all of them were luscious and yummy! I can't wait to visit again. I really want to try the Ube cupcake and all the other flavors that I saw. They have seasonal and holiday cupcakes so be sure to stop in during those times of the year for a tasteful, comforting treat! Oh, one more thing - DeJa Vu Cakes has pupcakes! Yes, safe to eat treats for your fur babies! The DeJa Vu Bareta pupcakes look like normal cupcakes and are made without sugar or any harmful ingredients. They are premium treats for your fur babies! You can even try a bite if you want to. I grabbed two of them. The puppers loved them! I have three little ones so I had to quarter each pupcake. What I'm going to do is grab a pupcake for each pup on their birthdays! I'M SO HAPPY I have a bakery to run to now!!
A friends birthday had me wondering what dessert to bring to our small gathering. Looking over the menu options online, there were so many intriguing options! The in-person treatment really helped me to make the best selection. I was warmly greeted as soon as i entered the shop. Emil informed me which cupcakes were seasonal (top shelf), his faves, and the uniqueness of several. There was an emphasis of no artificial flavoring used to make any of the cupcakes. I appreciated that it was a genuine conversation rather than one focused on a transaction. Ultimately, I chose the white wine grape and cheese, chocolate expresso with fluffy panache, chocolate salted caramel, ube gold, crazy carrot, and Pistachio cupcake. The thing I love about these cupcakes is that there is versatility in the flavors they have and I could envision which friends would like certain cupcakes. Everyone loved the frosting on their cupcakes, noting that it was fluffy and not overly sweet. And all cupcakes were enjoyed with enthusiasm. The ones that were most commended were the ube, white wine grape, and chocolate expresso. The salted caramel was noted as being saltier than expected. I'd definitely recommend visiting this cute little shop to try some of the deliciousness offered. Cupcakes are $4.50 a pop but given theyre high quality, its worth it. Even got the dogs a little pupcake to share too.

We got more cupcakes which they specialize in and make from scratch because we couldn't help the temptation (check their display) and the variety of flavors. On top, Emil and Rubina are kind, welcoming, offering great customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small, cute shop, nicely decorated in a shopping center Laurel Canyon w. Riverside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Small free lot in front, we did find a spot! Sign up for their rewards program and you will get similar perks! Closed on Mondays! The winners: Red Velvet (great cream cheese on top, smooth and light), German chocolate cake - rich, full of nuts, coconut, with a cute Kit Kat mini chocolate on top (seasonal), Raspberry Chocolate is nice, light, great contrast. Major favorite - the Blueberry Cheesecake - layers of cheesecake (recommend here), crust, fruit, smoothest cream on top! They also have seasonal ones! Smooth, fresh creams, not that overly sweet icing on top, fake tasting! Just fresh, natural ingredients, high quality, fruit, light cupcakes! Some of the best cupcakes we ever had!
I love the hospitality of a small local mom and pops store. I really enjoyed and grateful for all of the attention and information regarding the cupcakes that Emil provided. He first introduced himself by name, he explained that everything is made fresh in house and not from a cake box. He came around the display case and showed me the cupcakes that were popular. Once Rubina was available, he introduced me to her as well as mentioning she's the head baker. Friendly smiles, delicious cupcakes, and helpful. After I made my selection of the cupcakes, she mentioned how-to remove them from the packaging as well as mentioned one of the cupcakes is best served waiting a couple of minutes out of the frig. Self parking as well as street parking. Emil and Rubina (owners) strengthened the reason why I love to support small establishments because they take the time to explain especially since it was my first time there. Detailed oriented is hard to find now-a-days. I will be coming back.

Tried Deja Vu Cakes on a whim when I was in the shopping center for another place. I'm so glad my friend convinced us to try them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is a lovely little shop with a great selection of cupcakes and cheesecakes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are extremely knowledgeable and kind. They gave us a great rundown of what was available that day. As for the cupcakes and cheesecakes, I've tried a cupcake and 2 cheesecake and they were absolutely out of this world. Not too sweet and amazing cake bases. I highly recommend Deja Vu cakes.

I got several different flavors of cupcakes to serve at a get together with friends, and everyone loved their selections! My friend is vegan, and even loved hers! The staff were extremely friendly and answered any and all questions we had. They went over the menu and told us their most popular flavors! First time trying the cupcakes here and I loved them! They were so light and airy and not too sweet at all. The owners are so sweet and they took the time to explain the process behind the cupcakes and he explained every flavor thoroughly and answered all my questions. I also tried the peanut butter chocolate cupcake which is delicious as well the lemon almond cheesecake (so good!). Amazing cupcakes! My breath was taken away by how gooood they were. We ordered for pickup and the man in front had the best customer service. He took his time to introduce the cupcakes and I truly appreciate that. So far, I had the espresso chocolate, red velvet and strawberry vanilla and they were all delicious! WORST CUPCAKES I HAVE EVER EATEN!! They are absolutely sickening. The ube icing tastes the way rotten milk smells. I LOVE ube normally so this was shocking. It actually tastes like it's rotten. I could not even bite into the actual cupcake. The red velvet was so dry, and dense that I needed to wash it down with the water. It also had no flavor. The cookie one was also insanely DRY, and the texture is like an old cake. This has truly been the most horrendous bakery I've ever tried, and I feel sick from the few bites I took. I don't know what these reviewers are smoking, but this place does not even deserve one star. OLD DISGUSTING DRY CUPCAKES!!!! read more

Incredible place. I have tried many of the cupcakes. I love how quality they are without being overly sweet. The owners are very kind and smart business owners. They always explain their cupcakes to new customers. Such an amazing cupcake shop and if you haven't tried it, I promise you'll become a regular soon after you go. I loved how the owner walked me through all of their flavors, esp because I'm VERY indecisive. I ended up getting their Dulce de Leche (so good), Chocolate Chocolate (not super sweet, surprisingly), Raspberry Chocolate (my coworker loved it), Lemon Cheesecake and Oreo Cheesecake (both were so refreshing with fresh cream cheese)! My coworkers LOVED it! I'm so happy I stopped by. Their service is top notch. Due to the pandemic and no one coming in for their cakes, they only sell cupcakes. First time here and not the last. I've been wanting to make it in every time I go get nails done next door and always forget. I parked right in front this time around and so glad I gave it a try. Great customer service! There was no one at the register to greet customers but someone quickly came out from the back and explained what they are all about. The place has a nice decor and very clean. The cupcakes and cheesecake are all made from scratch, no preservatives so you must keep your goodies in the fridge. The price ranges from $4-$5 per item but you can taste the freshness. I recommend this place and will be coming back. read more

I'm definitely a fan! The ingredients are quality you can taste and Emil and Rubin are just wonderful. I love that nothing is overly sweet and you can actually taste the medley of ingredients. My favorite so far was a banana cheesecake. It had actual chunks of banana in it. read more

We did a little cupcake tasting and each got a small piece to try every flavor: Deja Vu Velvet, Chocolate Dulce de Leche, Nutty Coconut, Vanilla Milk Chocolate Ganache, Vegan Chocolate, and Purple Berry. Had the most wonderful experience at Deja Vu Cakes! I was looking for a local bakery to pick up some cupcakes as a birthday gift for a friend and stumbled upon this little shop. I was welcomed right away by both owners, and Rubina was an absolute sweetheart. She took the time to explain how each cupcake is made by hand with no processed ingredients, and you can really tell. They're gorgeous and feel like they're baked with so much love. When I mentioned they were a birthday gift, she even offered to wrap the box with a ribbon and add a little "happy birthday" topper to one of the cupcakes. This ended up being the best accidental find, and I'll definitely be coming back here for all future cupcake needs and gifts :) read more

Absolutely delicious ! I think I've found my new favorite cupcake spot! Emil was wonderful - he took the time to explain how they make their cupcakes and how they use no preservatives so the cupcakes need to be fridged. I came here for the Yelp Elite event and got my 4 cupcakes plus bought another 4 just to try out some of the dozen or so flavors they have - honestly the selection was mind boggling!
