This bakery replaced the old Japanese bakery at former Mitsuwa market. I wanted to get some goodies for my niece and this place was on the way. Crowded place with mobs getting baked goods like there's no tomorrow. I was impressed and amazed at both the basic Korean stuff (red bean donut, sweet potato bread), Japanese stuff (sweet cream sandwich, melon bread), American stuff (muffins) and Porto's wannabes (cheese rolls and guava rolls). Got chocolate chips muffin, red bean donuts, cheese and guava rolls for my niece. Got cheese roll, guava roll, brown sugar bread that's hollow in the middle and sweet cream sandwich for me and my love. It was kinda hard waiting in line since there wasn't really enough room to form a line. Everyone was just scattered around the register. I didn't know the guy next to me was in front of me and he didn't say anything. Cheese Roll and Guava Roll: not as good as Porto's but not bad. 3 stars. Brown Sugar Bread: I shared this with my co-worked. She loved it and I didn't. 2 stars. Sweet Cream Sandwich: so disappointed. One of my favorite sweet cream bread is from Mammoth bakery in Gardena. Came in today with my sister for a birthday cake. I was greeted right away by a kind and funny older Korean man and then a very sweet older Korean woman took the cake and packed it for us. Right before we left the Korean woman said something in what I think was Korean. I'm not Korean so I'm not entirely sure. However, I assume it was sweet and lovely cause then she gave us free pastries. If you see this message ma'am, thank you and please know I appreciated that moment so much it made my day. The cake was AWESOME! We got the fruit cake. It was moist and not too sweet. The free pastries we got were great too! Not sure what they were but one of them had almonds on it. That was my favorite. I use to live in the area and when I am in town I visit the spots I use to regularly frequent. The bakery is open early and it was the smell of freshly baked goods that filled the air that first attracted me to Bliss. The personal cakes are my favorite because I can have a piece of heaven in several different flavors. 2. I am a lover of everything CUTE. I know if you see the precious Doggy and Cat cakes you would melt over it (if you are anything like me). The service is good on the whole and the staff are helpful. For example, I recently made a delivery order for a birthday on short notice. Not only did they have all my favorite treats but they packaged and delivered everything in less than 30 minutes Overall, it is a place that I would recommend. I'm not quite sure why this Korean bakery has such low ratings. I find this place to be nice and cozy with a large selection of pastries and breads. It's located inside the Woori Market right by the food stands and the small "food court." The people working there are nice and friendly and always welcome me warmly with a kind greeting and smile. This place is small, but I don't find it necessarily a bother for me. They have basically everything I need here from cakes (perfect for birthdays) to cupcakes, to smaller sliced cakes, toasts, etc. The prices are reasonable and the taste is great! I never regret buying anything from this bakery. They also offer samples, which I find is a bonus. I'm sure at the busy times of the day, this place could be crowded and hard to maneuver through, but I always try to avoid those times. At the end of the day, they offer breads and pastries for discounted prices since they need to get rid of them before they close. I go here pretty often. Enough that the ahjummas know who I am by now, which I'm not sure if I'm proud of... I specifically go here for their curry and hot dog buns (the plain ones more than the pizza ones) and usually crave one or the other every other week. After around 7 pm on the week days, they usually do a buy two, get one free sale to rid of certain stock which usually means I leave with more than the bread I'm looking for. They have a large selection of baked goods; however, if you were looking for sweet items, I'd definitely recommend their (red bean bun), or their danishes, since they don't verge on super comatose sugar loads, like their buttery chocolate filled breads. Anyhow, their savory baked goods are super tasty and I will always crave it. The ladies have been nice to me so far, though given how much I buy on every account, I don't see why they wouldn't be. Bakery is located inside Little Tokyo Shopping Center inside Woori Market. This place helps me get through work. Without it, I don't even know how I would survive 8 grueling hours of annoying coworkers and an asshole of a boss. OH, and ridiculously early mornings. What helps me? ICED MILK COFFEE, of course. It's not too bitter but it's not too sweet. Perfect balance of milk and coffee. I don't usually like my coffee with milk, but this is an exception. :) For its price, I'd much much rather have a decent cup than to go to McD's for a cheaper but lower quality one. Bread. I've only had 2 so far. I've had the sliced bread and the tapioca bread. Their sliced bread is nice and fluffy with a nice buttery taste to it. Me likey! It's not too expensive and you can definitely see that it's fresh. You can have it sit for a couple of days and it'll still remain nice and fluffy unlike other places where bread hardens. The tapioca ball bread thing is cute. It's definitely a nice twist to the bread. There's something that is definitely different from other breads, but I can't pin my finger on it yet. This bakery is super cute! The bread is fresh and taste as good as it looks. An entire loaf of sandwhich bread is only $5 ! But you would have to ask them to cut the loaf for you. It is light and fluffy and so soft and perfect for sandwiches. So much good stuff to choose from. I always find myself buying more than I went in for everytime. The workers were very friendly and made the whole expiernce that much more enjoyable. Recommendations: paninis ! They have lots to choose from! I love this little bakery! I usually get the mango muffins and they are sooooo good. They have a vast selection of sweets and savory items, items you don't usually see at a regular American bakery. So far, I've also tried their curry pastry, chocolate croissant, pistachio macaroons, orange & coconut muffins, and so much more and none of them have disappointed. I will be coming back to this place with my family and will be recommending it to others. Also, service is very accommodating. The lady that works there saw that I had several pastries on hand and she went out of her way to give me a basket. She also pointed out the buy two get one free deal that I didn't even notice. Bliss has stepped up their game! Since my last review, they've hired friendly ladies and doubled the workers, they've added more variety to their pastries, they've installed a sandwich station, and their cakes/macarons have improved dramatically. Although I am not a huge fan of their cake, their cake decorations are like eye candy... very pleasing to look at. And I gotta say, their macarons are pretty darn good. I was given a surprise birthday cake today from some of my co-workers. The cake was delicious, moist, and looked amazing.

I come to Woori Market almost every week, so I am grateful to Bliss Bakery for being located inside the market and also for having delicious products for good prices. You can get an entire loaf of white fluffy bread for $5.50 (I think) and you can choose between just straight sides or the rounded ones. I like the rounded ones--they're cuter and seem fluffier to me. You have to request these (and ask to get it sliced) since they only have pre-sliced half-loaves on display. They also have a lot of pastries available (breads with cream, breads with red bean, etc) as well as coffee, coffee beverages, and now paninis. (They also have cheese rolls which I suspect they get from Porto's because they look identical.) I haven't tried most of their offerings, but my mum really likes their bread with red bean and I like the bread with cream cheese and cranberries. Prices are reasonable considering that most Korean bakeries are pretty pricey, and the service here is always good. I'm not sure if a receipt from this bakery works for parking validation, but if you have a market receipt then two hours of parking are free. read more

Easily the best Asian bakery I've tried in LA so far. So many choices, and everything I bought was moist and delicious. The clear winners of the batch I bought were the green tea and poppyseed muffin (seriously, foodgasm, better than the ones I used to buy at cafes in Japan) and the cornbread custard bread. The bread is good and so are the cakes, but the one thing I pick up when I'm at Woori Market is Bliss Bakery's cranberry cream cheese bun. Stuff is like crack. They don't always have it but when they do, I always pick up cranberry cream cheese bun for home and one for the car ride. They always provide little samples at the register so you can try a few new things out. Just one thing to warn about - don't get the mayo and veggie pizza bread looking thing. Personally I was not feeling that little concoction when I bought it for a lunch snack that day, but thankfully they've got Little Tokyo Sushi and the Yum Yum Counter as well as the hot and cold korean veggie side dishes right next to it so I could snack to my hearts content! read more

Located in Woori Market at Little Tokyo Shopping Center. I usually come here to buy bread but today I decided to buy one of their panini sandwiches that the were making to order on a cart . I order the tuna and avocado and it was amazing. I also ordered the ham and cheese and it was very good too. They were giving out samples of their pastries and they were soooo good. The two I tasted had cream cheese in them one with cranberry and one was some type of corn pastry like corn bread but lighter and better. It took all my strength to not buy them. read more

Food is terrible, the ingredients terrible, I'm not sure of the price since it was a gift. I don't know about the service since I've never been there. The Fruit Tart: The crust too flaky and dried. Too burnt, I can taste it. The crust was also too thick, thus leaving very little room for the creme. The fruits were bad as well. The kiwi was raw so while it "looked" good, it was hard, tough in the center of the kiwi slice, and extremely sour. The strawberry halves are bad. leaves were left on in a way to show how old it is, normally I like it off but I guess some people likes presentation, yet it fails in that respect. The creme is passable, nothing special, but I felt like I ate a bunch of burnt dried crust and bad fruits than a savory fruit tart. I'll work on the Tiramisu later tonight. The owner was incredibly rude last week when my 84 year old grandmother (a frequent customer since it's so close and she can't walk far) asked her about a deal they had going on. The owner was short with her, said that the deal didn't matter, and cut her off to tell the cashier to ignore what my grandmother was saying and to just make her pay for whatever she had on the counter. When I told her not to be unnecessarily rude, she shouted at me. As if the service isn't bad enough, my grandma also found a dead fly in one of the pastries that she got yesterday. In LA, I prefer CakeHouse in K-town and I used to go there for my bread all the time post getting my car and moving out to apartments for the remainder of my undergrad years, but having moved to DTLA, this bakery is just way closer. Bliss Bakery is conveniently located in Woori Market, so I like to do my groceries and pop in at the bakery last for some yummy goodies. Also, free 2 hour parking at the parking structure with any purchase here...but that's for those of you who don't know how to get into the open side lot... ;] They always have samples out by the cashier and I've gotten hooked on a few yummy buns because of these freebies. I love their multigrain bread loaf and their green tea bread loaf...sandwiches are transformed with these delicious slices of bread. I always end up eating a few slices the day I buy them all plain and yummy in their own goodness (and this is why I can NEVER go back to loaves of bread sold in normal grocery stores...they just don't taste good). And I love lovee loveee the fact that you can buy a loaf of bread from here before they slice it! (Tearing off fresh, buttery, soft chunks of bread and stuffing my face...ahh, heaven!) Addicted to their cranberry cream cheese bun and their carrot, coconut, raisin bread (comes in a little square). Their sliced almond, cranberry cream cheese loaf is yummy too. Bliss Bakery is located in the Woori Korean Market. They have a solid line up of popular Asian baked goods like red bean pan and the likes, and they also have delicious takes on french favourites like Madelines and French Toast. My suggestion is to get their early if you want the full gambit of their baked goods arsenal. By 6 pm, you'd be lucky if they still have any treats in their warm storage. I would STRONGLY suggest you have the following: Warm French Toast Brick: The entire outside of this pyramid shaped concoction is covered with a semisweet buttery glaze that is crisp and toasted to perfection. the inside is soft and airy and contrasts nicely to it's buttery exoskeleton. Buy 2, I guarantee you'll scarf one down then wish you'd bought one for the road. Cheese Rolls- These ALWAYS sell out, so get them in the morning if you can. These rolls rival Porto's, if you can hardly believe it. Melon Pan- I love me some Melon Pan, and Bliss has an interesting take on this Asian favourite. They actually add a coating of roasted peanuts to the outside of the pan, which gives the bread an extra crunchy and nutty dimension. The cranberry cream cheese roll, sweet corn and cream roll, and the custard pan are also winners. read more

Bliss Bakery is located inside the Woori Market next to Sakura Noodle, and is a fine place to satisfy your sweet tooth after a nice meal. My favorite is the (handmade) cranberry cookies/muffin, but the chocolate cookies are great to! The cream cheese breads are wonderfully delicious and so are the cream puffs! The customer service is wonderful and I have yet to have anything near a bad experience here. So stop by and try out anything I mentioned or just try some other pastries, I'm sure you can't go wrong! The staff can be pushy when you are looking at the baked goods on the tables but they mean well. I asked for their advice on what to pick. She recommended a black sesame ball. Not sure of the name but it was really delicious. It was like a puffy cloud of sesame and buttery goodness. I also got earl grey macaron. It was good, not too strong of earl grey flavor but you can still taste it. It was $1.75 and it was the most reasonably priced macaron I have ever come across. I can't wait to come back here.
