Came for my first ever head spa and was very happy with my experience. I booked online and upon my arrival I was greeted and given a short questionnaire to do so they can learn more about my hair/ goals. I absolutely loved the decor. The florals and the neutral wooden tones were very aesthetic. The calming music really brought it all together and it was exactly what I would expect from a relaxing spa experience. My head spa was very pleasant and not only did she use multiple products to wash my hair and massage my scalp, but there was also a portion of the session where she massaged my neck and shoulders. I felt so relaxed that I almost fell asleep. The lady was very gentle with me and was very careful when detangling my hair and when washing my hair to make sure no water got into my ears. At the end of the session, before she blow-dried my hair, she gave me some recommendations of treatments that I can do in the future to make sure my hair stays healthy. She also let me know that she noticed my hair was quite dry and recommended that I use more leave in conditioner and hair oil to help with that. I have been doing so since the appointment and have definitely noticed a difference in my hair. For the reasonable prices, the stellar service, and the helpful staff you really can't beat it. This was an amazing find! Wife and I had an amazing brunch next door at Buzz and Bites and then discovered this beautiful spa! The staff were so patient and informative explaining their promotions and services. Despite this husband being hesitant for a facial, a pampering was much overdue. We both did an eye reset facial massage and added her a head spa with lip treatment. I was lost in serenity. For a male, this facial was 10x more relaxing than most massages I've ever had. I fell asleep and lost all stresses. She took her time and didn't feel rushed at all. It felt longer than I thought and worth every dollar. She was very detailed and thorough. This place was insane and not in a good way. They DO NOT know how to handle curly hair. If you are ethnic and have textured hair, DO NOT GO HERE!!! They fried my hair completely. I'm afraid im going to have get a trim to be able to fix this even slightly. They admitted that they had no idea how to manage curly hair and continued to service me anyways knowing this. Came to Bliss Beauty Bar because I saw the viral post on Instagram. I was really excited for my first head spa. I called earlier in the week to schedule an appointment for the holiday package with included a facial and head spa and paid additional for the scrub. I had booked for 1:15pm on a Saturday. I arrived at 1:10pm and was told they are running a little behind and noticed there were 3 other people waiting ahead of me. I didn't mind waiting until the wait was almost a whole hour long! I wasn't called in until past 2pm. I shrugged it off because I really wanted to love this place. Beautiful ambiance and loved the decor, I do wish there was a little more privacy. There were curtains in between each station however they weren't used to separate the next person from you. Anyway, when I was called in, there lacked a sense of direction. They told me to go to one room and to change and take of my top and left. They failed to explain to remove my top and cover myself with the towel which was never handed to me. Myself and the person after me were both confused on what to do. I think a little guidance will go a long way. Overall, the treatment was great, Vanessa spent her time on me and even gave me pointers on how to treat my dry scalp. She recommended future services which would help my dryness. I do feel as a new business they need to work out their kinks. I did overhear they overbooked and had issues with online booking. I do want to give them grace as they figure out a better system where they don't overbook and can add that extra time to make guest feel less confused. I will definitely coming back to give them another shot. The prices are great and I think totally worth the try. read more

If you saw this place on instagram and are thinking about going......wait! They are new and going through growing pains and need to work out some kinks. Location: Small shopping center next to a busy cafe, so parking is tricky, especially on weekends. Get to your appointment at least 10 minutes early because you may need to wait to find a spot. Inside: The actual salon is beautifully decorated, love the pink Japanese cherry blossoms and warm neutral tones. Did not like the fact that the chairs where you lay down for hair and facial treatments are smack dab in front of the salon, without any barriers between you, the receptionist and waiting area. Not only are you hearing the guest in the waiting area and the receptionist talking but you're laying there with people just starring at you. And for an added bonus, you are also hearing the blow dryer going on for customer blowouts. Staff: Sweet staff but speak very little English, which made it difficult to communicate. I walked in with very little guidance, the handed me a paper to fill out but could not explain to me some of the questions on it. Everyone seemed confused and not quite sure what they themselves were suppose to be doing. Experience: I definitely did not get SPA vibes. The girl working on me, guided me to a room and just told me to change, with very little guidance as to what towels to use, where to put my stuff and where to hang up my own clothes. i had the facial/head package. She started the facial by using the hose used to wash my hair, to dowse me with water, I felt like I was drowning, very uncomfortable feeling. Water went into my ears and into my nose and I began to choke, she apologized but continued to spray water all over me. There was no sense of a facial, it just felt like she was washing my face the whole time. Then she proceeded to work on my hair which only felt like she was washing my hair for 15 minutes rather than massaging me. On top of all this, one of the staff members who was working on another client across from me, had a whole loud, hour long conversation with her client, vey unprofessional for a spa. Once done we walked over to the chair, where she continued my treatment by using an abrasive towel to rub my curly hair dry. She went on to blow drying my hair without brushing it and when I was done my hair was a puff of frizz. My exact words were "My hair looks horrible" when she was done. Overall: If you want to give this place a try, I would wait another 6 months to allow them to review some customer feedback, and improve. They have potential. read more

My friends and I had an appointment for 4 Japanese Head Spas at Bliss. It was confirmed with the gentleman over the phone, while booking the appointment, that it's for 4 people total. We arrived early to find out the appointment was made for 1 person only. Bliss somehow managed to overbook an additional 2 people at the same time so 6 people total for about 3 technicians. The person who checked us in spent roughly 10 minutes frantically trying to figure out the overbooking on who did it, if it was an online booking, yelling across to her mom that they're overbooked, being told by another worker they should've closed online appointments if there's an an appointment taken over the phone all while we were awkwardly standing at check-in. It was quite unprofessional with all the back and forth instead of beginning anyones service in order to make up some time. They were able to have two from our party begin on time. Despite the 15 minutes delay in getting started (from the appointment time), my service ended at the same time as my two friends who started before me. In total the head spa was 20 minutes with 10 minute blow dry for $45. I felt completely rushed. I was told it's a 30 minute service and my friends were given more time due to the inconvenience. I was also told they were trying to get us done at the same time. They did offer a warm eye mask and lip mask but overall the Japanese Head Spa felt like a glorified shampooing with the occasional points of pressure around your head. The two ladies who were booked at the same time as us were delayed by 45 minutes. Bliss needs more organization and accountability. read more

As soon as I walked in and breathed that soft fragrance I was happy. I did the head treatment which felt heavenly. There are special beds where you lay your head so you can relax your whole body. The special herbs percolate nearby and then get infused into your scalp and hair by a little sprinkler on your head. The therapist did pressure points on my scalp which also felt firm but so good! The stylist gave me some cute waves and my hair looked great! Afterwards I splurged on a manicure which was personalized to me since I have sensitive cuticles. Overall I just felt well cared for in a welcoming environment. Next I'll try the facial! They have Korean and Japanese products that I could definitely use! read more

I can not express enough how disappointed I'm with this place not only the lack of professionalism , but the fact that they're not following some of the basic health precautions that have to be taken with working with the public. I'm not really sure about the good reviews this place has ?, because of our bad experience my wife and I had there I can not recommend this place to anyone and in fact I made sure I let the person that recommended this place to me know maybe they shouldn't be recommending this place to anyone anymore doesn't look good on them. I am very impressed with Bliss beauty bar! I am so excited about the results of the natural herbal head spa treatment. My hair tends to frizz - looks OK after shampoo and blow dry then I go outside! After this shampoo and Blowout (which I love the style) my hair was the best! I have paid a lot of money for extra treatment at best known salons and not had results like this. It even lasted (soft, non-frizzy and straight) after I washed and set it four days later. Shiny, soft, non-frizzy hair - I love it and have already been back. I had the best experience with Sheri who provided an Oxygen facial. The Gua sha facial left my face SNATCHED!!! I'm so shocked at how good my jaw line looks. I've never had a facial massage to that extent with such good result. I am looking forward to the Japanese hair treatments and sauna/lymphatic drainage next.
