I've been here a few times. I go mainly due to convenience because it's so close to my home. However, I've been to better threading salons and have gotten way better service. The threader is a little cold but I could get over that. Just last Saturday I got my brows done there and I have never been so displeased. Once I got home, I realized that she cut me. Yes, cut me. I didnt even know that was possible with threading but it is. So now I have a scar on the bottom of my brow and I'm waiting for it to heal. I imagine she saw the cut once she did it, but she didn't bother to tell me. My brows aren't nearly as even as when I go to other places. I am just not happy and I doubt I'd return. I would rather drive to Glendale for a better experience and better result. read more

A friend refereed me here after I told her that I was growing out my brows and wanted to get them threaded in order to give them a better shape. She said shed heard good things about the place. So one day I had 30 minutes before I had to go into work (which is right across the street) early one morning and decided to give this place a try...boy was that a huge regret! I walked in to a not very friendly greeting and told the technician the kind of shape that I wanted and she told me it would be possible to achieve, mind you I had let them grow for over 2 months and I had not had them threaded in over two years because I switched to wax. I knew that having them threaded would be a bit painful because they were so thick and I am not a fan of having strangers near my face (which the technician was aware of because I told her beforehand) and she said that it would not be an issue that we could take a breather if needed. So following this conversation she began to thread and I asked her twice to please give me a two second break because I was beginning to get a bit anxious do to my discomfort of having strangers near my face (yes I know this is a bit odd) and when I asked she seemed very unhappy huffing and puffing. This would not have bothered me because I understand that my discomfort is not her issue but if this was going to be such a big issues she should have let me know and i would have taken my business elsewhere. Now the killer part when she was done with my eyebrows they looked HORRIBLE! There was no shape to them and they looked almost as bushy as when I walked in... I was so upset that I seriously considered walking out and not paying but instead I went to the nail shop next door and had them fixes them up a bit. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone they have poor customer service and do with your brows as they please not as they are asked. read more

So the first time I stop by which was maybe two months ago, I was very much pleased with the service. She was busy but still accommodated me. My eyebrows looked awesome, and the shape was phenomenal! I was hoping for the same shape the second time around. It didn't happen. I remember reading past yelp reviews saying Bliss is good for maintaining NOT shaping. I might give them one more chance. Perfect gem. I randomly searched an eyebrow threading salon near my job because I was in a hurry but really needed to get my eyebrows done. I am very picky when it comes to the care of my hair removal and just haven't found the right beautician for my eyebrows yet, but now I have. I came in on a Thursday afternoon. There was no one in the salon except Annie. She sat me down right away and within 5 minutes my eyebrows were my perfect shape and size. I could not believe how quickly and precisely she had done them. I was in love. I have since sent my friends to get their eyebrows done and they also love the results. Kushi did a C+/B- job on my brows. This review would be better if Kushi had not included a facial massage with the appointment. After she was done threading, she started pulverizing my face with what, I think, was meant to be a massage. It seriously hurt. She kneaded my face around like putty and pulled the skin on my eyelids. She put so much pressure on my forehead, her arms were shaking. It was not a good pain-it felt like she was leaving bruises and about to crack my skull like an eggshell. People should not give facial massages when they haven't been trained. If she had not done the massage, I would have given her two or three stars on Yelp rather than one. read more

What's even worse is I just read the reviews and I guess this is something this salon gets away with often. The place is very neat and clean and employee friendly. I didn't have to wait at all and it took about five minutes. I did my eyebrow first time. The girl name Khushi, who did my eyebrows was so nice and gentle and her wonderful job making me feel as comfort as possible. She didn't dive in and jay start reshaping everything. It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. She was great and my eyebrows look awesome. I loved the way she gave me eyebrow massage. 10 bucks for eyebrows and she gave discount top of it because I'm yelp customer. I RARELY write Yelp reviews, but I always search Yelp when looking for new places. That's how I came across Bliss in the first place. It's close to me, is super affordable, and had good reviews. I've been getting my brows and lip done there for the last 6 months or so, and while it's often hit or miss as far as customer service, they've always done a good enough job to keep me coming back. That is, until this week. I was the only one in the place, yet I felt that I was totally rushed out of there as if the chick had other things that she needed to get to. She didn't say more than two words to me the entire time either. After she quickly ripped all the little hairs out of my face and handed me the mirror to check it out, there were still a good number of hairs outside my brow line that I kept having to ask her to pull. She didn't pull the ones I asked, but continued threading my brows. It was kind of weird and felt so rushed, so after asking two or three times to continue pulling a few hairs here or there, I gave up and just wanted it to be over and get out of there. Additionally, what is this post-threading face massage that everyone keeps talking about? I have never once had them do that for me afterwards. As cheap and convenient as this place is, I think I'm finally done with it. *sigh* read more

I had the same issue as other reviewers. Always had a good experience here (have been going for 2+ years), but the last 2 times I went, there was no one there. I went well within business hours (one time it was 2 pm, one it was 11 am), and the door was closed, there was no sign with explanation, and no one answered the phone. I ran some errands and went back after 1 hour and still no one there! So I looked up another place in the area, and I ended up finding a place on Melrose with very similar prices but better service, more precise and give you a little massage afterwards. 3 stars because one of the ladies working there is super nice and does a good job with my eyebrows, but I'm afraid they lost me as a client because of the above. read more

I didn't wait very long. The place is clean and modern; I like that. My eyebrows turned out great. It was $10 to get my eyebrows threaded. That's pretty standard. Hetal is great. First time I went to her she nailed my arch and preferred shape, without my having to guide her. Second time I asked her for more of an arch, and she offered me info about maintenance that i had not been aware of, but will make the difference for sure. What I like about her is she takes the time to educate me about things like maintenance and offered a great tip (castor oil) to increase brow fullness. I waited until 11:15 for an employee to show up... no luck. In that time, 3 other women showed up for service. I was the last remaining customer... I know things happen, it's life. While I really enjoyed my first visit two months ago, today I was very disappointed. 1st visit was lovely with the owner(I'm guessing) asked questions of what I wanted, helped me keep my sideburns from being torn out and left me with full clean brows. She wore a mask, and had hand sanitizer readily available. Unfortunately she was not there this time-no covid rules or anything. Threader was NOT wearing a mask, person in the chair had friend who was talking on speaker without a mask closer than 6ft and I had to ask that the chair be wiped down before I sat in it; not to mention she didn't wipe the mirror the prior customer held before giving it to me. I had covid, not looking to get it again because the business doesn't care or is lazy. I feel like she took offense because my brows look super thin, she took A LOT off, and I had three bloody spots on my face when I got home. There's lots of other small businesses that offer threading with safety precautions and a more professional manner, I'm sorry that it ended up this way. read more

Gave 2 stars because I USED TO like this place a lot..... until recently. I have been going to this salon for quite some time I used to live right around the corner. Now I live all the way in South Pasadena and get my threading done while I am in West Hollywood. Not very happy the last time I came in. So, they give you a card that they stamp when you come in. After half of the card you get a free upper lip threaded after the full card you get a free eyebrow threading. Now I don't get my eyebrows threaded because I'm a model and I'm not allowed to do it, my agents will have a fit, the only people that touch my eyebrows are makeup artists or hair stylists on set for a job. So today I came in and I filled up my card but I never get my eyebrows done so I asked if I could get my lip done instead which would be cheaper in retrospect but she wouldn't allow me to do it. She's stated that only the eyebrows could be done with that stamp. Okay, so i ask, can I transfer my unused stamps to a new card ? The girl here last time said that was fine. This girl replies with "NO only eyebrows". okay Gestapo, i couldn't believe that she would not allow me to switch my stamps and transfer to another card so that I could get the upper lip done for free. I've been going there for over a year, and always tip the same as my service. $5 service, $5 tip, lets just say this time she didn't get her tip. And she wont be seeing me again. Decent threading place. I came here at around 6:15 pm during the week. I walked in to see a girl sitting on a chair on her phone with earbuds in, no one else was in the store. She seemed slightly annoyed and wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming. She did my eyebrows and upper lip in record time and it felt quite rushed. She did a pretty good job, my brows were a bit thinner than I wanted - no biggie. It was noticeably warm in the store too and the little AC unit that I spotted near the front desk was not on... when it definitely should have been. Overall, just an okay experience and the best thing was that the service was well priced ($15 for eyebrows and upper lip), which is why I would return but I'd rather find somewhere with warmer employees. read more
