Best part of the meal was the bacon and vegan cheese sandwich. Home fries unfortunately were rubbery and dry. Eggs were cooked perfectly-over easy. Had to repeatedly ask for non dairy creamer but the server kept forgetting to bring it over, so I had to go up to the counter and ask them for it. Then wait for it to be delivered. Coffee was very acidic and bitter, I wasn't a fan of it. First time I came here I was really impressed by the GF, Nondairy selections and the quality of food and service. Now it is meh. I went for the first time a few months back and I was not impressed. The vibe and the set up is nice it's different. However, the service was awful. We were with a small child so I asked the waitress if I could have my daughter's food out first, which it was literally just one egg she looked at me like I was crazy and didn't respond and I repeated myself and she was like yes sure. Then proceeded to just bring everything out at once. But as any mom knows the quicker you get the food out the better behaved a child's going to be. When she took our drink order, we told her we were all set to order if she wanted to take our order as well considering the restaurant was not busy there was two other couples in there she said no just drinks right now. Gluten free and vegan!! My oldest loves the food!! Recently we went to order some desserts for our allergy family, the waitresses are super sweet and helpful, Diana the owner/chef came out to explain about our order and was very insightful. The restaurant itself is very homey and welcoming, they have a tiny table with chairs, perfect for my three grandsons. They were short staffed with a long wait, people were still waiting!! I think this is a really great place if you have food allergies. They have a gluten free extensive menu and they will even provide single use utensils that are wrapped up to avoid contamination. My husband appreciated all the flavor options for iced coffee. The food was typical diner food and was quick to come out. The price was decent, as lately I've noticed a lot of other diners in leaving spending almost $70 for 2 adults and 1 toddler. It was only $45ish. As for the ambiance, I felt like their space was working against them. It's big but the floor is just concrete and it didn't seem too cozy. The food is really delicious. Be prepared to wait, the Owner makes everything by hand. Some people who come in, she just said, have 15 allergies. If you know someone with food allergies, please let them know about this restaurant. Also, some people just come in for the hash which changes daily. Ok, so I was not fond of the aroma in the restaurant when I walked in (smelled like an old building instead of yummy food), and the diner decor was subpar, but the food was mostly quite good. I particularly enjoyed the Marty, which was an egg and fried bologna sandwich on a sweet roll. Can I say "breakfast sandwich of the year?!" I think I just said it, and I meant it! The steak avocado toast with onions and peppers was very good too. It's no Matty but it will hold its own in the honorable mentions category. Unfortunately they were out of warm apples (the very pleasant waiter said it was out of season) . That's too bad because the home fries were average at best. But everything else was top notch. Zero stars. Terrible atmosphere, dark and dreary. Half of restaurant is unlit. The food was devoid of flavor, interest or visual appeal. And there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table to mitigate that fact. My coffee cup was never refilled. My husband ordered a breakfast burrito which arrived without salsa. We were subsequently advised that was an upcharge. But the icing on the cake, was that my husband noticed my toast was moldy after I had consumed half of it. After sending back my food and advising I did not desire replacement, the waitress delivered the check with apologies, relaying that management blamed it on their supplier,but charged us for every item. When I objected, she removed my meal from the ticket. No manager ever visited. Horrible! Nothing redeeming about this place. read more

I'm not even sure if "crunchy" is the proper adjective. It's kind of a big deal this bacon. Sure you could probably commit a sin and ask for floppy bacon but who does that and I'm not sure anyone should trust you anymore. Gluten free, dairy free, they have you covered. The tea collection is beyond amazing. They even import the dairy free cheese so it's ACTUALLY dairy free. Overheard this as well. The staff. We were served a meal with dairy after repeatedly warning of a child with a severe dairy allergy. The child cried for 5 minutes until her meal came. The owner argued with me even after the server admitted she made a mistake. There were up charges on every item we ordered when nothing was added on most meals. Our bill was $73 for very little food. I asked for water 5 times before getting a glass. The metal silverware was dirty & kids plastic ware was so chewed up. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Another wonderful breakfast my son and I had at his favorite breakfast spot. Today my son celebrated his 25th bday and all he wanted was his favorite vegan banana nut pancakes and the best home fries around, and today did not disappoint. My son has been vegan for over 15 years and it's difficult to cater to our family when we would like to eat out. The purple rooster, the owner and her son are always accommodating, and so caring to each and every guest who walks through there door. I had the Veggie Bake, and my Dad, Stepmom, and Spouse, had the Bacon Tomato Spinach (BTS) Bake, and they were delicious and healthy. I'm not sure what's up with all the low reviews of this place. My wife and I went for the first time today and will DEFINITELY be back. Service was attentive, a little slow, but with post-COVID staff shortages they did well with what they have. The decor isn't anything to write home about, but that's not what draws me to a place. Their food was amazing. I was thrilled to find a spot that makes vegan AND gluten free pancakes, even their chocolate chips were safe for me. The tofu scramble with vegetables was great and the homefries were yummy. My wife enjoyed her scrambled eggs and sausage. Definitely give this place a try. I love that this restaurant takes food allergies so seriously. The first question when anyone walks into the restaurant is 'does anyone in your party have a food allergy?' They have a separate menu for gluten-free and there is a large selection of items from which to choose. The chef is very responsible and has great protocols to ensure safety. Decided to try out this place since they moved from Plainville. Surprised that they open at 9am. The place is spacious with a lot of variety: vegan, GF, non-dairy and regular. The staff is friendly. I had the Mexican baked dish; egg whites, salsa, black beans over home fries. I opted for GF bread (yes I weirdly like GF) and a side of well done bacon. The hubby had the basic 3 eggs, grilled apples, crispy bacon and 1 pancake. The hubby said his pancakes were light and fluffy and his eggs were good. He didn't like the bacon because even though it was well done, it was still sort of spongy and when you bit into it it oozed grease. His "grilled" apples apparently had added sugar to them, which ruined it for being healthy and diabetic. My Mexican baked dish was very good. I forgot to ask for no cheese ‍. As for the bacon, I too had the same issue and apparently it was not nitrate free. Forgot to ask. The GF toast was just okay. When asked if we wanted a refill on coffee, the person grabbed our cup from overhand and carried it to the serving area. (Didn't bring the pot to the table) It appeared to be their first day or new to the job. We would consider coming back again read more

Wonderful allergy-friendly cafe! Since I avoid gluten and dairy, there are hardly any places I can go where I can eat anything on the menu. Not the case here -- everything was already safe for me or could be easily made that way, and it was all delicious. We came back two days in a row! I would be in here all the time if I lived nearby. Let me start out by saying that I am not vegan or gluten-free. I came to this place with a friend who is gluten-free and loved it. The food was great and the staff friendly.The one thing that blew my mind was their blueberry and white chocolate muffin. It was so good I wouldn't even have know it was gluten-free and vegan. Food was not good and I wasn't offered a refill on coffee and I didn't want to ask because I had a feeling it wouldn't be free refill. Whoever the lady making the food is I'm guessing is the owner? She blamed the waittress for messing up the the order, but clearly it was not the waitress fault as she wrote down our order correctly. I know this because it was on the bill.
