They've been open 7 months so pretty much brand new. I understand Vietnamese so it was fun just hearing what they had to say about us. To clarify.. my friend wasn't being "difficult" she just wanted time to think if she wanted to get her eyelashes done for the first time. She's never done it before and just didn't want to pay.. if I recall $90 for it? But she felt like it was being pushed on her. I did too. And me.. I don't have a lot of money just because I chose a Royal Spa pedicure or for you to up charge me.. I was spending time away from being a mom and just wanted to be pampered! Any-who, based on the work.. it was okay. The pedicure was decent. The manicure I came in with a pic and well it wasn't executed correctly. One lady knew the idea and the other didn't. The one that knew didn't paint the base first, it was the other one. And then when the main lady came to do it, she put foil on (very quickly and just not trying to replicate the essence of the pic) and I showed her the pic again for the marbling that was supposed to be a part of it. She tried doing it with another paint and it looked horrible so she took it off. I think overall there needs to be more communication. The lady that painted the gel on my nails.. I was so close to showing her the pic but she didn't want to see. The main person had pushed us that they'll do exactly like this, encouraging us to get more things done, etc from the beginning, but overall it just wasn't a relaxing experience. I give it the stars because the nails turned out alright and for the time we shared at the end when I responded in Vietnamese to them as they were talking some crap. After that, we were able to have a genuine convo. But just a heads up that even if people don't come in nog speaking Viet doesn't mean they don't know it! Please note, I am a Black American. At that point, I calmly asked him why I was being ignored as if I were invisible. He had no explanation. The way I was treated was deeply disrespectful and felt like racial discrimination. No customer should be made to feel overlooked or less important. Tracy is the owner at Arden. Heather and Crystal are the other amazing stylists with chairs in the salon. ALL of these women are incredibly-friendly and happen to know what they're doing. I've never once seen the salon empty unless I was the last person leaving from an appointment. It's a comfortable, feminine space, clean, inviting and the cutest selection of eye-catching local jewelry and garments as well as hair products. It's a space you WANT to get your hair done in...trust me. Cut and color prices are extremely reasonable. I'm a bottle blonde with a "bixie" that needs maintenance on the regular, and rather than pay a small house mortgage each time, I'm pleasantly surprised by the price after every visit. No sticker shock here. Tracy keeps notes on my color so I never have to worry about what was done "last time". She's also a doll, so it makes being in her chair that much more fun.
