I was looking up places close to my moms house in Annapolis, because my friend was visiting and needed her nails done. I looked on yelp and Instagram where to go, and we found Bliss Nails. As soon as we walked in we immediately liked the vibe. The host was super nice and Diona (my friend) got helped right away. Kelly did her nails and she was really nice. She did her nails quickly yet exactly how she wanted them. Every time I'm visiting my mom I'll be coming back here and Diona even said she'd make the drive from Laurel to here just for Kelly. This was a great surprise! After a long wait in the house quarantining, it was finally time to get my nails done. The receptionist gave me an accurate wait and I was able to walk around and come back. I came back and the nail tech was super friendly. Ok! My nail girl is on vacation ....for a month! We agreed before she left that I would get a pedicure 2 weeks into her vacation. I am going to wait for my nails. Today was the day!! I went to Bliss to try the heavenly bliss pedicure. It is 85 dollars but lasts more than an hour. Instead of water...they place a gel in the tub to soak your feet. It was very soothing and smelled wonderful. The treatment included the callous removal, salt scrub, and paraffin. Overall, this was a lovely splurge! The salon was very clean and staff was friendly! Hugely disappointed. Came in for a full set and pedicure. Showed the technician what I wanted. Simple white pedicure....great. My full set...he started by trimming my natural nails that were already well manicured. Finally applies tips. Tells me to keep them longer until he applies acrylic because we can always go shorter but not longer. I showed a picture of ombré glitter prior to him starting. He said, okay that he could do it. My nails on my left were significantly longer than the right. He painted my nails white. Applies the glitter and isn't able to do the ombré. He told me "you're killing me" because I told him after he clearly couldn't do it that I didn't want glitter at all. He filed my glitter off, dust got on my other nails because they were still wet. The shape is clearly rounded square even though I said I wanted like super sharp square. I've never been disappointed but I got to my car and cried out of frustration. My nails look awful. I've made an appointment to see Nikki tomorrow noosing she can fix them. I've been here numerous times and never been disappointed but for $100+ between the two services I excepted them to be able to do what I wanted. Otherwise I would've gone to another salon. *****UPDATE 09/19/2019***** I posted about how unhappy I was when leaving Bliss the other day. While I was happy with the nail tech's, work and tipped generously; I am disappointed that the receptionist who represents the business, who failed to honor the promotion which was live on yelp, and under their page. It reflects poorly on a business to advertise and not honor it. Especially when the techs work hard, probably expect you to help generate business and build a customers base, with many options in the area. I'd give the tech, Crystal (who I enjoyed conversation) five stars and the business 1 for faulty/ misleading advertising. The young lady at the desk probably could've honored, yet decided not too & gave a line about it being old... Meanwhile, the promo is still up... so be forewarned. Ok. So I will never, ever go to this nail salon again. Receiving excellent customer service is paramount to me! This staff at this place is rude as hell, and lacking in any semblance of providing good customer service. I am a long time customer of Mary's. I come in every 2 weeks for a spa pedicure and manicure, always spending $100 including tip. I have been a consistent customer for about a year. I always make an appointment in advance to see Mary. About a month ago, I was 15 minutes late for my appointment. I was late due to traffic, and it was my first time being late. When I arrived, 15 minutes late, the woman at the front desk told me she had given my appointment away to someone else because I was late. So I left. I was annoyed because typically businesses give you a grace period, but I accepted that yes, I was late, so I left without getting service because I only see Mary. Fast forward to today. I had a 10 am appointment with Mary. So halfway into my relaxing pedicure, the same rude staff person from before who works at the front desk who gave away my appointment a month ago, comes to the pedicure station and tells Mary that she has a walk-in for brows. So Mary gets up without asking or telling me anything and walks off to go do this walk-ins eyebrow wax. What in the hell?? Mary leaves me in the chair with hot wax on my right foot in a bag and a cold towel on my left foot. So after about 5 minutes of disbelief, I get up and go over to the desk and ask to speak to a manager. Yes I tracked wax all over their floor. The front desk person, yes the rude one, is about to try to charge me for this unfinished and interrupted pedicure and very unapologetic, talking about its their policy to take unscheduled eyebrow waxes in the middle of pedicures. Well that is the dumbest policy I have ever heard of. You demonstrated poor customer service. A lack of respect for a long time customer, including a lack of respect for my time and what I had planned for the day. That is after all the reason why I made a reservation. The woman who did not make a reservation obviously has more flexibility in her plans and could have waited. In summary, you lost a consistent customer for LIFE for a walk in that only spent a fourth of what I typically spend in your establishment. Good luck with that business model. read more

The salon wasn't busy when I arrived, but the technician wrapped my nails to remove old polish and then spent 30 minutes tidying up the salon and other chores instead of finishing my manicure. Came in for a much needed pedicure, 15% off coupon made it an easy decision to try salon. Having to write a review prior to leaving the salon before getting the 15% off was unexpected and annoying . My pedicure was great, I had the paraffin pedicure and added callous removal treatment. Definitely a great experience. I'd love to recommend the young lady who did my pedicure but she never gave me her name. So obviously a couple of negative with my visit today, but overall a good experience. I will come back again to try their other services. 2nd visit I had a gel fill, signature pedicure and waxing done. No real wait, my nail technician's name was Crystal and we started with the pedicure. First off the water was scalding hot to where I had to lift my feet out for her to cool it down before I could put my feet in it. This happened at first appointment as well. This young lady was so rough when she was trimming and filing my nails and really dug into the side of my great toe (see picture below ), 24 hours later it's still oozing serous fluid. Is red sore to touch and am now worried about infection . We then did the waxing , no real issues there and non with my gel fill till the end when she had another appointment and had some one else finish me. The final straw for me was the charge, I have in the past paid about 85 for all services above. My total came to 100, when I asked for detail of charges found out there is a 15 charge for gel nail polish. I'm done...will not return. read more

They are clean but be prepared to WAIT. today I had an appointment and they took someone without an appointment before me (who arrived at the same time as me) and left me to soak in the pedicure tub for 30 min+ and took multiple people for the pedicures while I waited. Their excuse? "She had an appointment"......so did I. Then when someone FINALLY got around to me when she did a passable job, I had to get my pedicure in between her texts (see photo). If you don't have time to see someone, don't book appointments at that time. This has happened several times before where I have had a long wait even with an appointment. This is my third time coming here (brought a friend this time) and its get better each time. With everything going on we have to schedule appointments and there seem to have been a mix up with the service I was getting but they were still able to accommodate us. I got my nails done their yesterday and I had quite a bad experience. I went in to get a full set with a specific design and the woman said she could do it (she was the manager I think). I told her I like my nails short and she was like ok yet she made them ridiculously long. When I asked her to shorten them more she kept acting like I was asking for too short of a nail, saying things like "shorter?!?!", "your just wasting money", and "you should have done dip". I got to the point that I no longer wanted to be reprimanded for wanting shorter nails that I just excepted the long nails, which I am now taking to another salon to fix completely (more money out of my pocket). I then wanted a complex design on each nail, which I knew was challenging which is why I asked before if she was able to do it in which she said yes to. Once we got to the design part (an hour from when I got to the salon), she did a tiny piece of each nails and then had another technician come over to do the rest. I wouldn't mind this usually however, she pulled this technician away from another client to do my nails, I felt terrible for the other woman who specifically requested this technician. This also increased my tip because I now had to split it between two people. I also had gotten Dip with a design done at this salon weeks prior however, the dip broke off within a week. Both instances were $70+ without tip, neither worth that much. Overall, they were kind people however, the service was not good and I did not receive what I was asking for, you get tired of correcting them after 2+ hours in the salon. I am very annoyed that I have to go to another salon and pay their prices to fix these long nails, it's at the point it is difficult to even type this up! I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the service i received at this establishment. I visited Bliss Nails & Spa for the first time on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 3pm (appointment) for an SNS (dipping powder manicure and regular pedicure). Upon arrival i was instructed to wash my hands - which is perfectly fine given the circumstances associated with COVID-19. After washing my hands, i had to go back to the front and ask the receptionist where they wanted me to go. The front desk receptionist told me to go to the back and sit at a station. I walked to the back and had to wait to see exactly what station i needed to sit at. After waiting for approximately 3-5 minutes, the nail tech came from the back and told me where to sit. Almost immediately after sitting down and putting my feet in the water, WITHOUT ASKING, the tech began clipping my toe nails. She clipped them way too short for my liking and crooked (see picture). After the pedicure, i moved to a station to get my SNS manicure. The tech rushed through my manicure and cut my cuticle. When i let her know that she cut me, she blew me off and then when i started to bleed, she rushed and put some unknown liquid substance on it which made it worse. With the status of the economy and COVID-19, the last thing someone would want is to be cut in a nail salon to the point where you start bleeding. As she was finishing up my manicure, i expressed all the flaws with my nails and she insisted that it was MY fault because of the way my hand was positioned when she dipped it in the powder. The color was extremely patchy and my index finger was not smoothed out whatsoever (see picture). At this point, i am furious and had other errands to run and did not have time for her to redo my nails - i walked to the front and was quoted $87 and asked to speak with the manager. I expressed to the manager (Nikki) how i felt about the service i received and she was extremely dismissive and did not care EVEN THOUGH she saw and agreed that the manicure was not up to par. I tried negotiating with her and letting her know, i would pay but i was not willing to pay $87 for the service i received. The manager insisted letting the tech try and fix my nails and that it wouldn't take long. I gave her 5 minutes to TRY and fix it and ended up with having 4+ coats on my middle and ring finger of my right hand (see picture) - resulting in my nail looking SUPER BULKY. At this point i was OVER it, the manager did not even bother to check to see if i was satisfied - i paid and left. I am BEYOND disappointed in their lack of professionalism and compassion. I am currently 8 months pregnant and had to literally bend over to pick up my shoes and carry them to the manicure station as well as remove the toe separators and disposable flip flops. The tech watched my struggle and didn't even bother to assist (so disheartening). I'm almost certain that there are more flaws with my pedicure but considering i can hardly see my feet, i am unable to leave an accurate review for the pedicure other than my nails being crooked and too short. I feel like i was completely scammed out of my money and I honestly wish i could get a refund. DO NOT VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND DON'T LET THE ATMOSPHERE FOOL YOU LIKE IT DID ME. read more

After reading all the reviews for nail salons in the Annapolis area, I decided to try this one out. The outside of it is a little deceiving as it is in a strip mall and doesn't look that nice but once you walk inside, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I had an appointment but nobody asked about it when I walked in and I probably had to wait about 15-20 minutes after my appointment time to get started. I got a gel manicure done and they did a great job. They took their time while still being friendly and conversational during the manicure. Everything was super clean which is important for a nail salon and I was overall very pleased with the service. I'll definitely come back and would like to try a pedicure next time. They have these cute little chairs for little girls to get a pedicure and I definitely want to bring my niece here next time she is in town! read more

In Annapolis I ask for Nikki or Victoria Odenton - Christine or Kate I have been getting my nails done with these ladies for over a year now and it's always a good experience. DO NOT GO HERE. This is a long read but if you have ACRYLIC nails it's WORTH it! I would've gave this place 2 stars because the lady who did my pedicure was sweet. I felt uncomfortable almost the moment I walked in. I asked the lady at the counter about pricing since there was none visibly posted and it was my 1st time there. I was told "just go pick your color". Kinda rude I thought but I just did as I was told. The pedicure lady was nice. Then I get to lady who's going to do my acrylic fill. Everything was going good until she used the ROUGHEST brush ever to clean the dust off of my hands. Just straight scraping my hands. She didn't put any oil on my cuticles or ask me to wash my hands. Then she basically throws a ring of gel colors on the table in front of me and walks away. Mind you I already have my color on the table next to me. I tell her that I want to use regular polish and not gel. I had to tell her at least 4 times that I did not want gel. I even told her that I was on a budget and couldn't afford it but she just kept going. She finally gave in and painted my nails with what I wanted. I asked her to please paint all the way to the skin and she said "of course that's what I'm doing". But she did not. Then when it's time to pay she asks if I want to put the Tip on my card as well. I say yes. Then she proceeds to ask me multiple times if I have cash and I kept telling her no I don't! So I leave and ONE DAY LATER my nail breaks! Now it's a small chip but when you spend $65 somewhere you expect your nails to last!! So I go back and they offer to fix it. They gave me the SAME LADY! She proceeds to lecture me and say that if I would've gotten gel polish my nail wouldn't have broken. Are you kidding me?? 1) you dont lecture the customer 2) it doesn't matter what nail polish you use if the nails are too thin they are going to break. Then she proceeds to shape my nail completely different from the rest of them. I'm posting this 6 days later and ANOTHER NAIL HAS BROKEN!! I'm a stay at home mom who's currently on vacation. The decor was awesome. Staff was pretty nice. Stationed were clean. However! I felt rushed during my pedicure and asked the receptionist and the nail tech could I let my feet soak for a little before they went to town. The nail tech did a good job at cleaning my feet and cuticles but the paint job was HORRIBLE!!! Very botched and rushed! -now on to my manicure- Again the tech did an awesome job at cleaning my nail beds. However!!! The gel polish was just ok. Some of my nails don't look evenly painted. The tech didn't say the mood polish was $3 extra but whatever. The polish looks thin as if something is stretching the material. I finished at about 7:40pm just before closing. The receptionist appeared to struggle with closing customers out. They only accept cash tips but they have a atm within the shop that doesn't have a surcharge so that worked. I generally don't write reviews, but my experience here was very bad. I was on time for my appointment, but it appeared that either they were short-staffed or someone had called out. The people at the front desk looked very distracted and barely greeted me. No one instructed me on where to pick out my nail polish or offered me a drink. During my pedicure, I watched the front desk women greet other clients and offer them mimosas. No one even spoke to me. I told my manicurist I wanted regular polish for my toes and gel for my hands. He somehow missed this and gave me regular polish for hands and feet. When I realized this, the staff offered to redo it. At this point I'd already been at the salon an hour and a half (most mani/pedi appointments I've had last an hour tops...). I said I didn't have time, and asked if I could return one night during the weekdays as I needed this done by Thursday for an upcoming wedding. She was very snarky, and said they could either redo it now, or have me come back and charge me for both a regular manicure and a gel mani. She told me that an hour and a half for mani/pedi on a weekend day was "standard" and "this is just how it is". When a business makes a mistake, they should be extremely apologetic and trying to amend things. I felt completely ignored and dismissed when the error was on their end. The nails looked fine (just fine - definitely not great), but the service was abysmal overall. Highly disappointing and I do not plan to go back. read more

Nikki's is my nail technician, she did a phenomenal job on my Pink&White new set and pedicure, she was very careful and thorough, she's an absolute perfectionist. If you want detailed work, she's your girl! Bliss Nail & Spa staffs are very sweet and knowledgeable and creative when it come to Nails. The price is beyond reasonable and they offer really good options for colors. And every time they do nails they use brand new equipment that you can take home if you'd like, otherwise it a tossed. Came here with my mom, sister and best friend (who is from out of town) to get our nails done before my baby shower the next day. Worst experience. I decided to get regular polish because my nails have been growing out and we're so healthy. The polish lasted all about 2 days on my nails and after I took it off, it looked like I had gel because they were so uneven. I ended up having to cut all my nails super short because they kept breaking. My sister asked for a paraffin treatment and was never given it, my moms pedicure was rushed because her tech had a "regular" come in. My tech was too busy humming the entire time to focus. While my bestfriend was getting a pedicure, her technician found their wasn't enough polish, so instead of her finding a similar color he put solution in the bottle, leaving the polish not able to dry fully and a jelly texture. Before we even left the salon she had red all over her toes, she asked someone else to fix it and they told her to come back the next morning and her original tech would fix it. Because the receptionist was in such a rush to leave for the evening, she failed to confirm the appointment with the tech for the next morning. So the morning of my baby shower she had to return to the salon and was told that the tech was to busy and not able to take her, which she couldn't wait, and told her to come back for a THIRD day in a row. I was livid. I called and told them that was absolutely unacceptable and to give her a refund because she wasn't spending her entire trip at their salon. That was denied. From someone that has worked in the service industry for MANY years, I normally don't do this, but PLEASE DO NOT go to Bliss Nails & Spa in Annapolis!!!!! One of the WORST customer service experiences I've ever had! I went there yesterday for an acrylic fill in. I told my nail tech I wanted them almond shaped and that I wanted them as short as they could be while still maintaining the look of the shape and that I did not want them super short and chunky looking. First of all, he didn't know what almond shape was, but someone else googled it and showed him what it was. Whatever. When showing him designs I wanted, he told me he couldn't do anything that I showed him. I then picked the most basic design I could find. He told me he couldn't do it but he could ask someone else to. Ok, fine. By the end of the service, my acrylics were almost all cut off and my nails were very short, VERY chunky, uneven, the design was terrible and they had smudge marks and brush strokes in them. I called back that night and told the owner what happened and asked to make an appt for the next day to get them fixed. When I came in I explained to the new nail tech what had happened and that I would like them to be fixed free of charge. I then talked to the owner and she told me I would be charged extra today for a full set. I told her I didn't think I should be charged extra for her employee cutting all my acrylic extensions off when I repeated many times what I wanted. She was not accommodating AT ALL. After arguing with me in front of everyone in the salon, I told her I just wanted them taken off and my money back. She then told me all sales are final and she would not give me a refund and "how would she pay her employee for the hour he spent on my nails if she gave me my money back". I told her as a customer it is not my responsibility to worry about how she pays her employees. She then told me I was "not a very nice person", again, in front of everyone else in the salon. So at this point I either get robbed of $50 or pay $15 extra to fix their mistake. After waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME, another nail tech started fixing my nails. She was super condescending asking me after every step she took "is this ok? Are you sure? Are you positive?" As if I was being unreasonable the whole time. Meanwhile, she stops throughout fixing my nails to work on other customers. I was in the salon total for 3 HOURS!! With an appointment!!! At one point, my current nail tech and the nail tech that worked on me the day before started talking (obviously about me). He starts raising his voice and grabs my receipt from the day before and slams it down on the counter in front of me. They were speaking a different language so I don't know what was said but it was super hostile and made me very uncomfortable, more so than I already was. 3 hours later, I'm being rung up by the owner. She then tells me she's charging extra on top of everything for my nail shape, that I paid for the day before. At this point, I would pay anything just to leave and never come back. She then asked me if I would be leaving gratuity today for "all the service I was provided" (which was unnecessary to ask out loud bc gratuity was written in when signing the credit card slip) I told her to give my gratuity I had left the day before to the girl today and that I would be leaving a VERY bad review on everything I could. I don't know why I continue to give bliss nails my money, not sure which location is worse odenton or Annapolis. I'm only giving it 2 stars because I was a walk-in and got taken care of right away. aside from that my full set was hideous my nails came out so bulky and the color sample didn't match the color on the nail. Also I was cut twice because of the excessive filing by my cuticle. I paid 55$ for this work truly disappointed. read more

Been coming here for a few years, and always had a pretty good experience. However, today I got the worst pedicure I've ever had. The technician was an older lady, who spent just a minute or so on each step and in a very disorganized fashion. She stopped halfway through applying the nail polish to clean the work station. My mother and I were seated at the same time and requested the exact same service. My pedicure was finished a good 15 minutes before hers. Also, the staff was extremely loud talking over each other in different areas of the salon, at one point they were talking to someone on speakerphone. I don't expect silence or total relaxation, but I was getting a headache from all the yelling. In the end, after being left sitting in the chairs when the technicians were done, my mother and I walked up to the desk and asked to pay so we could leave. read more

Stopped in last minute with some friends and immediately liked the setup of this salon. There are alcoves with smaller groups of chairs for pedicures so if you're there with friends it feels more intimate. My only complaint is that my friends started their pedicure & I sat waiting for almost 20 minutes but still finished at the same time. Felt like I was rushed or missed out on something. My polish lasted though and I was happy with the results. I would probably come back again. read more
