These people are phenomenal. I would not use another company. I have used them for the following: * Happy Valley: Reroof / convert complex shake roof to textured comp; install two attic fans. * West Linn: Tile roof on complex hi end home including ongoing maintenance. * Milwaukie 2: Estimated lifespan and cost to replace. Intent was to rent so opted to replace before renting. Reroofed single story house with comp; roof had been bandaided as part of a flip years ago and had crud plywood and some rot. * Milwaukie 1 : Estimated lifespan and cost to replace. Honest estimate, giving me some time to replace roof later and proceed with renting. * Clackamas : Estimated cost to replace skylight in home for sale. ----- Here is the net of why I love Bliss: * The people. They are honest, caring people. I really really trust them. * Quality for decent prices. Not the cheapest you will find but their work is incredibly good quality. They really do want to do a good job. For something like a roof I opt to pay a little more to have peace of mind. * When you really absolutely have an emergency, they do try to come fit your schedule (so far no roof emergencies, just home sale estimating). * They work fast. We have had the typical delays that can occur during reroofing, due to finding unexpected things under the material, or a vendor not providing material on time, but they are always accomodating. Particularly the maintenance crew. When they come to replace a lost or damaged tile, you sometimes dont even realize they have come and gone. Very quick and tidy. * Patient - they answer questions. I won't work with a contractor that gets irritated if I have questions. Cannot advocate enough for this company. read more

I am beginning to see Bliss Roofing commercials on TV for the first time in over a year. Summer of 2024 I had a $30,000 new roof put on my triplex. On day 2, with a storm coming in, they flooded my renter's living room and my back bedroom. On day one, they tore off the old roof. On day 2, they showed up at 5AM making a lot of noise. I went outside in my pajamas and pointed at my watch. Noise ordinance? Sine no worker spoke English, all they did was point up at the black clouds rolling in at noon. Left my property at noon. My renters called me at one and said they were flooding. Went in my spare bedroom in front and I was flooding. I called Bliss immediately and they sent out an English speaking supervisor who tarped the roof. I hired my own contractor (did not want any part of Bliss in my home) and repairs took one month. Bliss paid for that, the $2,000 I did not charge my renters of rent that month because they had to live in their back bedrooms and knocked $3,000 off the price of my roof. If I had not just lost my husband the year before, I probably should have lawyered up, but I just didn't have any fight left in me. (I was heartily advised to do just that.) I kind of thought maybe they closed up shop since I no longer see their trucks around Milwaukie. But now these cheesy commercials makes my blood boil. read more

Bliss Roofing did an excellent job replacing our cedar shake roof with the Certainteed Presidential TL asphalt tile. A crew of six lead by Robert began on a Thursday morning at 7 a.m., finished tearing off the old roof by 9 a.m., and had nearly finished applying 23 squares of new shingle by sunset. Our Bliss sales agent Les visited twice on Thursday to check progress, which was reassuring. On Friday a reduced crew finished ridge caps and other details, and by mid-afternoon the yard had been cleaned and the debris truck driven away. I inspected how the tile had been laid around skylights and vents and I was impressed with the workmanship. In addition, the crew successfully removed a huge dish antenna mounted on a thick metal pole that rose from the ground through an opening in the eave, which they patched and roofed over. Prior to the tear-off the crew set drop cloths around the edge of the house to protect plants. Fair warning: during tear-off shingles come down fast and furious so I suggest preparing your delicate plants with stakes or cages. We appreciated the low-pressure nature of the initial sales visit, and were pleased with the price quote relative to other bids, the responsive communication with the Bliss office during tile selection, and the upbeat attitude and hard work of the crew. read more

I would highly recommend Bliss Roofing! From start to finish they were great. I had done my homework and received 3 bids from companies that had good ratings on-line as well as the BBB. Bliss came in at the lowest price and is the only one that had zero complaints! Not bad for being in business for 50 years and they are a family business. I also appreciated the fact that they don't try to get more money out of you and say "we will bet other bids by 4%", etc. Especially when one bid was $8,000 more! That too me is a red flag. No games with Bliss and they are on top of things. They are very professional, made sure all my plants (I have a lot) were protected and they did a great job cleaning up. Another thing to mention is I have a 2 story house with a VERY high pitch and a few companies wouldn't even tough my roof because of it. The guys worked so hard and we're always here first thing in the morning. They were very nice and even piled up some of my cedar shingles for me to burn for firewood. If you have ever gone through the frustration of getting roof bids, you will understand. Bliss came under 2 of the 3 bids and the one they didn't, I didn't trust the bidders. As seasoned elders, you can imagine the sale pitches we received. Bliss' Roof Inspector Jacob Crosby was very honest about his inspection, in fact, defunct a couple of the other inspections we had, which was amazing. His inspection was almost right on the money for cost and needs. Of course, sometimes you can't see everything. Regardless, Jacob's down to earth manner was comforting to us. The Project Manager, Cesar Morales was amazing. He keep us in the loop on everything being done and approached issues with kindness and let us make the final decision. Cesar was in touch with his crew everyday and made sure that we were satisfied with the daily workings and the final project. His professionalism was outstanding. The office crew was also, great. We had a neighbor oak tree fall on our house. Bliss was out the next morning to cover the steep roof in the rain. Chris was out in a few days for the insurance quote. They scheduled and met the schedule, finishing on a terrible weather day. One of the few who do repair work also. Have used for repairs on several occasions and will again. Shingle color did not seem to match tho they said it was the same as the original roof which they did. Could be fading? Insurance company had analyzed and it was a different shingle result. Not on a side of house that is very visible thankfully. They probably should have matched with a different color perhaps. Fascia repair looks bad and does not align. I will have to sand and even out myself as best as possible. Part of problem is they keep shrinking the size of boards in the industry. Not a major...just something to hassle. DO NOT USE THIS ROOFING COMPANY!!!!! They use seconds for the material when installing a new roof. They throw their garbage everywhere and left a huge mess. My plants were ruined. The seconds are such poor quality some of of the shingles blew off and I had to call another roofing company to come fix them because they refused to send anyone out to look at it. They said i had to call the manufacturer of the material. Seriously?????? They charged me almost 10 thousand and didnt use the good quality shingle. They used seconds, the worst quality you can imagine!!! The man on the phone was so rude, didnt care and basically said to bad. I wouldn't let this company withing 20 ft of my house again!!!! Bliss Roofing have been a lifesaver since I purchased my home in the 90's! They have always come out to the house immediately, after I call regarding broken tiles on my roof! Believe me, it happens way too often, as I am surrounded by Douglas Fir trees. On windy days I can always expect broken tiles due to high winds and flying branches that always seem to land on my roof. During our recent ice storm, Bliss came to the rescue! The damage from falling branches was horrific! I can not thank them enough for sending a crew, assessing the damage and repairing my roof almost immediately! I needed to replace the roof on my back porch. I got a quote - thinking I needed to do a new roof on the house as well, because there was a leak in master bedroom. Bliss's wonderful man doing the quote for repairs told me the roof was fine - but the flashing around the chimney was missing = causing the leak. He gave me a name for getting the chimney repaired and gutter cleaning. The workmanship and quality of repair was beautiful. Bliss put a new roof on my house in June 2020. Their price was competitive, even more so when I found out they included several things in the bid that other companies itemized. They showed up when promised, and when the new roofing showed up three hours late (not their fault- they had arranged with a roofing supply company for delivery) they simply stayed late that day to finish. The crew chief was courteous and knowledgeable, and stayed late, even later than everyone else had to that day, to make sure everything was right. They left behind a new roof and no mess. Years ago Bliss Roofing put a new roof on our house. They were very professional and did a great job. This past year a facia board on the house needed replaced. I called them and they were happy to come and repair it and they did it for a fair price ($1,350.00 for anyone needing that done). I was told that they don't usually do that kind of work but because they did our roof to begin with they would repair it. The only problem was that they used slightly different color shingles even though my husband told them we had extra shingles from when they originally did our roof. read more

I hired Bliss Roofing to put on a metal roof it turned into a nightmare they damaged all the sheets of standing ridge roofing beating on the panels to get them to lock together. They admitted they fired the crew that put my roof on then they said they just haven't used them lately. My experience with Bliss is they will lie straight to your face to avoid responsibility for their work they refuse to do the job correctly to my satisfaction NEVER HIRE these people ever I am left with a crappie job and I guess I will have to sue to get any satisfactory resolution. read more

Josh Gardner was transparent and communicative at all times......took a bit longer to get to the actual doing of the job than we wanted due to COVID and the great amount of work in construction at present but once arrived their gang were quick, courteous, communicative and, importantly, they worked safely and did a quality job. My roof looks great. I love that they installed permanent tie offs even though they are not yet required in the roofing industry. Very proactive and conscious of safety. I had nails showing through my soffett that I I was not happy with and the company took care of them. Their estimate was considerably less than another estimate and the roof looks great. I had used them prior for roof repair and was very impressed that they took pictures and sent them to me to show me the work that was done. They are an honest and reputable company!! read more
