Sometimes they have live music and that's nice too. They have different special events and visitors at times but it's always advertised so you know ahead of time. There is plenty of parking across the street and it's just a short walk to the front door. The menu offers pulled pork plate or sandwich, ribs, chicken, brisket and there's even a barbecued bologna sandwich called a Buster burger. The potato salad is right on the mark with no onions. The baked beans are out of this world with pulled pork mixed in and a nice sweet, smoky flavor. We also got the banana pudding for dessert and it's so good. We've been to BawBaw's several times and we keep coming back. We've had the chicken and it was cooked to perfection. Nice and juicy inside, not dry like most barbecue chicken. But you'll still want to dip it in that delicious white sauce. So yummy. The brisket is fall apart tender and so tasty. The pulled pork is wonderful and not greasy and we love their pulled pork sandwich. The ribs are tender and flavorful. So far, everything we've eaten has been delicious and we have no complaints. We're working our way through the menu. The owners really care whether or not you enjoy your food and usually come out to chat for a bit. All the meats are cooked fresh daily and the sides and desserts are made fresh daily as well. Service is fast and friendly and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. I don't think they had any rub but still excellent overall flavor. Probably one of the better ribs in Huntsville. Brisket: I ordered the point/fatty but got a combination of lean & fatty. The slices were very thin, which is usually an indication of the meat being overcooked. However, that was not the case, It was tender but just a touch overcooked, excellent smoke flavor. Overall it had a better than average flavor and recommended. Mac and cheese- honestly, I didn't care it. It's what I call standard Mac and cheese. Nothing special. My parents and I got two pulled pork meals, both with macaroni and cheese as a side. I got sweet potato casserole with mine while my parents opted for the hash brown casserole as their second side. Each plate was served with a small, soft white roll. We had banana pudding and chocolate fudge pie for dessert. Drinks include canned Pepsi products and bottled Milos tea. The young man taking orders was polite and helpful. We stood around by our car while we waited and then took our food to the nearby park to eat at a picnic table. The best two things were the hash brown casserole (very cheesy and creamy) and the banana pudding - made with real vanilla pudding, plentiful Nilla wafers, and nice, ripe bananas. Those two items are keepers. Overall, it's a worthwhile experience to check off if you're dedicated to trying out all the bbq the wider Huntsville area has to offer, like me.
