Full size Wedge Salad (that the kitchen split for us)
Kim R.

We celebrated our anniversary on Sunday and chose to come here for dinner. We enjoy dining with a view which this place has. We started with the full size wedge salad that the kitchen split for us. The blue cheese dressing was very good. I'm a ranch girl; blue cheese can be hit or miss for me but this one was a hit! We also got complimentary rolls (I did ask if they had them, they weren't just automatically brought out). They were delicious! For our main meal we got one ribeye steak, 1/2 order of brussel sprouts and the appetizer size of lobster mac and cheese. We both loved the brussel sprouts, the mac and cheese was really good too, rich and flavorful. The ribeye steak was just ok to me but husband enjoyed it more than I did. I wish we would have gotten the New York. We told them it was our anniversary so they gave us a dessert. She said it was a cronut. It was delightfully scrumptious. Different than the cronuts I've had in the past, more of an airy texture if that makes sense, but oh so good!

Last night our party of 10 had an amazing dinner while enjoying a beautiful view of the beach shoreline. We requested to be seated outside on the patio. It was a bit chilly but the heat lamps kept us all warm. We ordered Lamb Chops, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Calamari, Oysters, Salmon, Meat Loaf, Wagu and Kobe Burger. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious!! My granddaughter and her boyfriend received a very nice FREE dessert congratulating them on their engagement. Which took place earlier that evening at the beach. I was able to take some pics of the food but unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the beach view. If it's not too cold outside I suggest seating in the patio area.

BLK is tucked away above the beginning of the downtown Huntington Beach area right after the pier. The menu is extensive and the food is good. What was impeccable was the service! You can get drinks customized if you don't like the cocktail selection and everything was fantastic. I really enjoyed the garlic mash and my steak. It was an extra windy day so the warmth of the environment and cozy ambiance was very welcoming. Highly recommend if you are in the downtown area.

Visited on a Wednesday evening. Was able to get a last minute rez as the place was empty except for the patio. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset view. Service was excellent from the initial greeting by the hostess/manager to our server Carla. Both were very helpful with recommendations for a first time guest. Had a very delicious clam chowder followed by a shared Fork & Knife salad. For our entrees we had the Bass and Kobe Meat Loaf. Meat loaf along with the accompanying gravy was too salty. Overall a nice experience with a great view.

Had such a great experience!. The food was honestly outstanding--everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But what really sets this place apart is the view... absolutely stunning, especially around sunset. The vibe is perfect for a date night--elevated but still relaxed, with just the right mix of ambiance and energy. Service was attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole evening feel easy and enjoyable. Definitely one of those spots you go to when you want a memorable night out. We'll for sure be back.

Brussels sprouts and risotto

Well this was a special treat. Our server, who was also the bartender I believe, was Gabby. She was awesome. Just want to start out by saying that. In case she sees the review, I told her my name is Jennifer (because it is, but on yelp and in real life, I go by my second first name / first middle name, Rae. I asked for her name so I could write a review and she joked that if it was a bad review then her name was Jennifer, and I thought it was funny so I told her my name I have never tried sea bass before. If it doesn't taste like this again, I don't want it. Holy crap. I was a little sad I didn't get a shellfish fixing in, but when I tried the sea bass, it was so soft and buttery that it satisfied my shellfish craving! I forgot to take a picture of my oysters because I was so excited. They were perfect sized. Not too small, not too big. The shells were clean. They and the condiments tasted great. Definitely some of the best oysters I've had. The swordfish came with half lemon cut in half grilled. It was the perfect amount of lemon (for me) to squeeze all over it. The risotto was delicious. I loved the mushrooms. And the Brussels sprouts are just as good left over as they were fresh. I wish there was more but I think we got half sizes? I forgot.. The wedged salad was good but I personally would have liked a little more blue cheese and I like bacon on mine but I think the candied walnuts were in place for that. My Bloody Mary was very flavorful and I'm grateful for the extra olives!! We had a great spot half inside half outside. There was a roof but it wasn't enclosed with 4 walls. It was very unique. I liked that the sun didn't hit us but we could still see the beach and feel the breeze. This whole menu looked phenomenal. When I see a menu like this, I have the tendency to shut down and get sad because I want it all and know I can't have it. I always like to try new places when I visit California but I do believe this place will be drawing my attention again... and again.

Sesame crusted Yellow Fin (forgot to take the before picture so we were halfway done at this point! Lol)

TLDR: nice restaurant with beautiful oceanfront, balcony views with good service and decent food. The views were better than the food. Don't go if you are expecting wild caught seafood options. Full version: Visiting town for a conference, a buddy of mine was looking for a good restaurant near the water with a variety of options. Parking : We (group of three) made a 30 minute drive from Anaheim to BLK. Perhaps because I was from out of town, where to park wasn't clear and I was trying to jockey for street parking. However with a quick call to the restaurant they guided me to an underground parking garage that offered validated parking (2 hours). Greeting: It was a Tuesday night so the restaurant was quiet and we were seated quickly on the balcony with heat lamps which made it very comfortable. Our server Medj came, and although he was newer to the team he showed polish and provided some recommendations based on guest favorites and even some of his personal tastes. Food: I was disappointed to hear that there weren't any wild caught options despite being directly next to the Pacific. There were plenty of choices to appeal to many different pallets. Beef, lamb, chicken, and more. We started with grilled artichoke and the tuna tower. The artichoke was quartered, making it easy to share. The tuna tower was tasty. For an entree, I ordered the sesame crusted yellow fin, via a "mystery pick" asking the server to make a choice for me (only reason for ordering fish despite my earlier comment about not being wild caught seafood). The food came out quickly and the flavor was decent. Both of my friends enjoyed their entrees, scallops and center cut filet mignon, respectively. The sides that we had were Brussels sprouts, Mac and cheese with lobster and garlic mashed potatoes. We could've skipped the mashed potatoes or ordered half size portions of all of them. Kevin, the manager, stopped by to ensure that we had a good experience, including turning on a second heat lamp. All in all a good dinner. Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Food: 7/10 Value: 8/10. (Driven by the option to have half-sized side portions) Bottom line: Would recommend the restaurant, and would eat here again. Next time I would try the Kobe Meatloaf!

This place is cool. Right next to the beach with a pretty decent view of the ocean. The service and spot and the drinks were average

Ribeye Steak

Tip: There is a 3% surcharge when you pay with a credit card. I don't mind the surcharge if I am told in advance...but we were not advised of the fact before hand. I noticed this on the bill. BLK is located on the second floor across the street from the beach. The view of the sunset is beautiful when the weather is nice. The day we dined here was nice, just a bit breezy. Our table was located next to open glass doors. We asked if they could close the doors and the staff was very accommodating. Service was friendly...but the food was not impressive. Entrees are served ala carte except for the Kobe meatloaf. You have to order sides to complete your meal. Sides come in half size or full for sharing. Some side options include, asparagus, brussel sprouts, mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes, jasmine rice and more. We ordered Rib Eye Steaks, Chilean Sea Bass and Kobe Meatloaf. Of the three different entrees, I thought the Chilean Sea Bass tasted best. My rib eye steak was not as tender or flavorful as one would expect. The Kobe Meatloaf was nicely seasoned. The Chilean Seabass was cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. The highlight of our meal were the 2 desserts. Butterfinger Mud Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding Ala Mode. Overall...I give BLK 3 1/2 stars. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment which brought their overall score down.

This beachside restaurant offers incredible ocean views, fresh coastal cuisine, and a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing. From seafood favorites to tropical cocktails, it's the ultimate spot for dining with a breeze. Make reservations for the best seat in the restaurant. Pin this for your next visit to HB.

Shrimp Bisque and vodka rocks!

This is my go to restaurant when I have something to celebrate or someone to impress. I was here last night to do both! My reservation was for 6:30 and we arrived early. The parking is so easy and they validate the first hour! We stepped into the elevator and were delivered to the front entrance. The hostess was lovely and welcoming and smiling and happy to see us! The outside table I had reserved was perfect with the ideal sunset view! The menu is very sophisticated and au courant! We went with the margarita flatbread appetizer, the shrimp bisque soup, we split the seafood skewers and the mushroom blue cheese risotto. The water and cocktails and appetizers were quickly delivered by our super efficient and friendly waitress, Marissa, I think! The food was wonderful, every single bite! The sunset was spectacular! I still love this place, I always enjoy my evening every time!

Celebratory Dessert

Had an amazing time with our party of 11 with 1 baby. Dorothy helped us out on this Monday afternoon and she was amazing. Service top notch and we even decided to get a round of Green Tea Shots (more tart than sweet) to end the celebratory graduation lunch. Dorothy was so kind to bring out a sweet treat for our baby daughter and also a celebratory dessert for the graduate. She also offered to take so many photos of our group at the table, with the pier view outside, and the christmas tree setup they have at the entrance. We all enjoyed our food including Lobster Mac and Cheese, Grilled Artichokes, Calamari, Risotto, Kobe Burger, Kobe Meatloaf. We will definitely look to come back again especially with the friendly and accommodating service Dorothy gave us. We feel like we made a new friend out here in HB.

Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner and I was quite disappointed with how the quality of food has dropped since the last time I dined here. The fried calamari was rubbery and the batter would fall off the squid as you picked it up so it was difficult to eat. The sweet chili sauce that came with it was watery and tasted off. The seafood tower was fine but the crab was just shredded cold crab meat that tasted like it came from a can. Our tomahawk steak got absolutely butchered and parts of it were overcooked as you can see from the picture. Also who slices and cuts up a steak like this and deems it appropriate to be served. That's literally how they cut it up for us and brought it out. I was honestly really surprised, if I knew they were just going to cut it like this I wouldn't have had them bring it back and slice it up for me.... The quality of the steak was also not very good as well, you can just tell it is a lower quality beef that didn't taste very fresh. Espresso martinis were just okay there was only one flavor that I liked but it wasn't very memorable. Service was good though. But honestly the food was so disappointing, I would not come back for recommend dining here. My friends coincidentally also dined here the following week I did and also felt the same about the food quality.

Yes

Kid-friendly at all?

Is there outside seating and ocean views?

Yes there is! I think Indoor dining might be open in Cali now, but when we went, it was only outdoor seating and all tables had an ocean view

Do they have valet parking?

They do not but there is an under ground parking next to the restaurant and a parking garage behind it across the street. They also have street parking nearby if they are available.

How much is the bottomless on Saturday?

$30 as of Feb. 2022.

Are the bottomless mimosas on Sat also?

Yes they are and they use better quality sparkling wine (champagne) than the other area restaurants!

Is Brunch and Mimosas only offered on Sunday? Is there Saturday Brunch?

Yes! Their Sunday brunch is amazing!

What is the cost for Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas?

Check their website as the cost is posted there! I wanted to say it was around $25, but don't quote me on that!

The purple cocktail was one of the most unique drinks I've had in a long time--light, refreshing, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. The presentation with the charred pineapple was such a cool touch that made it feel like they really care about every detail. The second cocktail was just as impressive, with bright citrus flavors that were incredibly refreshing and perfect for a warm Huntington Beach evening. The atmosphere at Jolie deserves just as much praise as the drinks. Sitting outside during golden hour with the ocean just down the street made for the perfect setting. Whether you're on a date, catching up with friends, or just looking to unwind after work, this place has an amazing vibe. The staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in, and you can tell they genuinely want everyone to have a great experience. Jolie has officially become one of my favorite spots in Huntington Beach. It's rare to find a place that nails the drinks, the atmosphere, and the service all at the same time, but they absolutely delivered. I already can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the cocktail menu because if these two drinks are any indication, I'm in for a treat. Huge shoutout to the entire team--you've earned a customer for life!

We also checked out the rooftop afterward. It's mostly tables and lounge seating, but the ocean view from up there is definitely worth seeing. I ordered the lobster roll ($32.50). Unfortunately, there wasn't much lobster for the price. Looking at it without the lettuce (and even next to my sunglasses for perspective), it felt pretty skimpy. The lobster itself was tender, and the toasted roll was good, but I expected a lot more filling for what it cost. The fries were crispy, and the herb dipping sauce was a nice addition. We also shared the Spicy Tuna Stack. It wasn't really spicy unless you happened to get a piece of red Thai chili in your bite. There was more mayo than needed, which made the dish a bit bland overall. The sweet pickles underneath added an unexpected sweetness that actually worked well, and the crispy rice was my favorite part. Still, it wasn't something I could eat much of because the flavors became a little too rich and one-dimensional. The Goat Cheese Artichoke Blossoms were good, though a bit bland. They were crispy and enjoyable but could have used a little more seasoning to make them stand out. Overall, Jolie is a nice place to grab a drink and enjoy the views, but the food didn't quite live up to the prices. If I'd come back it would be for the atmosphere, but I'd probably order something different next time.

I called the hotel number on the reservation and left a message, who did not return my call. It's been 1.5 months and I haven't heard back from anyone. When we got there the restaurant was largely empty. We didn't even need reservations for the Father's Day special dinner. The Father's Day special dinner was offered to everyone who came to the restaurant, with or without pre-paid reservations. I made the reservation because the Mother's Day brunch is usually full so I thought it would be the same for Father's Day and my husband really wanted to go. As far as the food goes, it was OK. Maybe I don't know what a ribeye is supposed to taste like, maybe it was a bad ribeye, maybe it's because I always get a filet, but I was underwhelmed, 3-stars at best. They had this mushroom ravioli type course that was good. Dessert, as I recall was good. None of it was worth $115 per person. To be fair our server was very pleasant. The manager was pleasant as well, however, I still haven't heard back from the manager or the hotel about a refund for 2 of the meals. It has been over a month and neither the manager nor the hotel have returned my calls or emails to resolve this issue. Three-stars for our meal. For $115 per person, I expect much better. One-star for customer service.
