We had a really good dining experience here for my wife's birthday celebration. My daughter, wife and I shared the spicy tuna crispy rice, Prime New York steak, grilled seabass and short rib fried rice. The spicy tuna was not what we were accustomed to but it was still tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly and came out really tasty especially with the chimichurri. The seabass with the Yuzu ginger broth was wetter than I like but still flavorful. I prefer a dry rub over fish which I find cleaner with higher quality fishes. Overall, we still enjoyed our meal and had some nice cocktails during our celebration.

Nice ambiance, very clean and organized as you walk in. Love that the place is dog friendly and has a doggie menu. Good food, good service, good time.

Pretty good contemporary American restaurant by the water in HB. With a nice place like this some dishes are priced on the higher end and some are fair. Nevertheless, great spot to impress a date or relatives. Food here is pretty great too. I'd recommend the lobster Mac n cheese. Their dinner roles are exceptional as well. Service here is pretty great and I'd recommend sitting outside at the patio. It's all well heated too.

Loved our brunch! Had the sampler tower, crispy tator tots and bloody Mary's and mimosas. Everything was PERFECT!!

My friend and I came for drinks and dinner, and even on a rainy night the ambiance was beautiful. The patio is a must, the ceiling-mounted heaters keep it warm without the usual clutter of heat lamps. We shared a bottle of wine, a soup for her, and a mushroom orecchiette for me. Unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked. Not al dente, just not cooked through. It was disappointing because the mushrooms and sauce were excellent, and they pour the sauce and soup in front of you which is a nice touch. It makes the dining experience feel more elevated. I rarely send dishes back, but this one wasn't edible. Our server, Shelby, was kind and professional and replaced it with the duck and goat cheese charcuterie at no charge. It was delicious, with generous portions. Despite the hiccup with the pasta, we had a lovely time and I'd happily return.

Beautiful location Not too many vegan options though I had the beyond sausage - they seemed deep fried Also the potatoes. They were ok but could have been crispier and had more flavor The Balinese salad was ok too. There was a ginger taste to the dressing and it came with farro as well The server was really good I had the London fog as well and it was very good

Lorea offers a fantastic dining experience with its great ambiance and contemporary decorations, all while providing a beautiful ocean view. The dinner was amazing, and the service was exceptional. The cocktails were enjoyable as well. However, breakfast took a lengthy 45 minutes to arrive, and the birria burrito left me a bit disappointed as it was dry. The level of service during breakfast seemed to fall short compared to dinner. A special shoutout bartender, Chris who not only crafted excellent cocktails but also provided fantastic service when we came just for drinks in the afternoon. He also made the best Spiced Apple Sour cocktail during our breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend Lorea and the associated Pasea Hotel for a pleasant 5-star experience.

It was our first time and finding parking was very difficult. We ended up parking at Pacific City and thankfully parking was free due to some special Anniversary. We had a 7 pm reservation, but at 7:20 pm, we were told there are two parties in front of us! That was disappointing, what's the point of a reservation? About 10 minutes later, we were seated because one of the party canceled. It is located in Pasea Hotel & Spa. The ambiance is great. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was delicious. I like the plating of each dish, so pretty; especially my Oshizushi. I love the toasted Nori on the side. My hubby enjoyed his fish. It was well flavored and no bones! We want to return in the daytime to enjoy the ocean view.

Tables. Birthday girl. Dresses. Fashion. Empty space. Only 3-4 tables were booked that evening. Wasn't busy.

Yikes. Sorry. The atmosphere is cool but not worth it. Had dinner here for my birthday before heading to bungalow. The food came out cold and was tasteless. My table agreed and one of my guest found a long thick metal in her food! Omg, how terrifying. They comp'd her food. But she was disappointed the rest of the evening. We had such high hopes in this place because of the location and the way it looked. But it was not what we expected and we didn't have a good time. The staff was fine. But it took forever to get our food out. Unfortunately we won't be coming back here unless everything changes. Food quality, service, speed, attention to cleanliness, etc. There was only 2 other table there that night as well. It wasn't even packed. I'm guessing it was only one cook and like 3 staffs. But it was disappointing still

One of my favorite locals spots. The food, the view and Chris, the most attentive bartender, make this the perfect spot to have a "staycation" when you live so close to the beach! I bring clients, friends and visitors to Lorea to enjoy the view, the ambiance and the great food. Chris is the bonus!

This restaurant is located inside Paseo Hotel & Spa (which also features Treehouse rooftop bar overlooking the beach). Ambience - As many other reviews mentioned, this was spot on. Many angles/seatings of this resturant (more outdoor than indoor of course) directly look out into the beach and when we had our dinner at 7pm sunset time the view was stunning, palm trees ocean against backdrop of a orange purple red Patagonia-logo sunset made us paused here and there during our meal to just enjoy the view. Restaurant itself is clean, modern, and very spaceous. Food - We ordered kale salad (refreshing balanced out our meat dishes, slightly saucier than expected), duck/goat chacutterie (great visual and great taste), prime steak frittes (medium rare felt a bit more like medium but still delicious), whole market fish (seabass that day with squash and lemon, tasty and filling) and the infamous parker house rolls (HEAVEN w/ beewax butter edible candle dip). I see previous reviews complained about food being bland, but our meal was tasty so I'd chart it off under they're implementing long term improvements or it's just reviewers' own subjective differences. Service - Professional and friendly service, our server Erica always greeted us with a smile and randomly checked in on us as we dined to see if we were doing okay. Very attentive water refill frequency, when our server was busy other servers were helpful in stepping in (unlike some other places where they may have you wait for your server, understandable no harm no foul but this way just feels more collaborative and supportive). In the beginning we did wait a little for the host to appear on a not full house evening, but based on the behaviors we observed it felt more like they were all very busy and might be understaffed for the day, and not idling or negligent so we didn't mind it too much. As a bonus we went upstairs to Treehouse rooftop bar after for some drinks and the lantern rustic decor went very well with the sunset beach view! Parking - Valet parking since it's in a hotel, quick hard working young staff, attentive and polite. p.s. bring a light jacket if sitting outdoor during dinner time, the beach breeze can be a bit chilly!

Went to Lorea for a Christmas dinner on Friday. We sat outside under the heaters. It was nice and toasty and beautiful ambiance. They had a live singer which added to the experience. Customer service was great. Food was good. A bit pricey. We ordered the tomahawk that serves two. The sauces that came with it included pepper gravy, chimichurri, house steak sauce. I found the steak to be better without any of the sauces. Overall fun experience.

We did the indoor seating but were sat where we could see the beach and sunset. We ordered: Spicy tuna crispy rice (4/5): super yummy and added extra thai chilis for a kick. Some parts of the rice were more hard than crispy. Black mussels (4/5): pretty good, mom loved them. The bread it came with soaked up the sauce wonderfully. Garlic fries (5/5): so flavorful and crispy and garlicky- dipped them in the mussel sauce and it was amazing. Shrimp and lobster linguine (4/5): could use more salt but overall really good! They're pretty generous with the shrimp and lobster (maybe like 5 large shrimp and 3 claws iirc). Pistachio crusted halibut (4.5/5): mom said this was her favorite because of the flavor, flakiness of the fish, and abundance of vegetables. Pro tip for spice lovers: they provide sides of chopped thai chilis if you ask! We went through 3 different bowls of chilis

We were not planning on getting cocktails but they ended up sounding so good. I got the Rhubarb Rendezvous and Steven got - I think it was called Now You See Me. Both delicious. We then opted for apps. Steven had the wedge salad and I got the corn and roasted peppers bisque. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately my soup was on their main rotating menu that I was told changes every two to three weeks. Now you see me, now you don't I guess? The main menu changes also, but less frequently. I was very tempted to try the lamb on the short farm menu, but since I hadn't seen it on their site, I went in planning to get halibut, and I did. It was also delicious but I'm sure the lamb would have been too. Steven got the filet and what do you know? A restaurant that cooked it the way he wanted the first time. We followed our meal with their Milky Way dessert which was unique and their take on a milky way bar, and delicious. Zero complaints about our food and drinks. Service was top notch!! We were checked on constantly, our waters never made it to even half empty, and there was constant staff helping take the plates and bringing the food as well. Great experience!

The service was warm and professional. The waitstaff and hostess were welcoming. The space itself was dark, but fits the bill for a steakhouse Since it is an "upscale" restaurant, I will be holding the food to a higher standard. I don't often dine at steakhouses, but my frame of reference was my other event steakhouse experience at Carver Steak in Las Vegas... which I thought was just fantastic Now onto the food: Free bread. We arrived at 5 (early). I dunno what time the bread was baked.. but was pretty dry on the outside, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. Was fine. But not craveable. A few pieces were pretty inedible Appetizers: ahi tuna tar tar and scallops The tuna tar tar was a flashback to 1980s tuna towers. It really didn't have much flavor at all, but looked nice. Instead of the typical avocado , it was served with a pea puree underneath that turned an unappetizing color as it mixed with the tuna. I added some salt in hopes of it tasting like something .. but it didn't help it much The scallops were actually really nice. They didn't get much of a sear in the cook, but tasted great. I'd say they were the highlight of the dinner The wedge salad was next. The toppings were all top notch. The dressing, bacon, cheese , onions. All great. Sadly.. the lettuce seemed past its prime. It was chewy like cabbage .. my dining partner commented on this as well.. and was brown and bitter in the.middle. Still, there was enough dressing to mask it. Next we split the ny strip (regular menu) with a side of cauliflower au gratin (seasonal menu) I'm glad we decided to split a regular steak vs the larger ones. It was plenty for two. The steak was ordered medium rare, and arrived closer to medium. It was seasoned well and had some nice grill marks. By its texture, I am assuming it was initially cooked sous vide, and finished on the grill. I would rather just have it cooked on the grill as I feel the flavor and texture comes out better. The steak itself ate a bit tough, but not horribly so. The cauliflower I wouldn't recommend. It appeared to be parboiled in aromatics first and finished in the oven. There were still whole peppercorns and cloves on the cauliflower so be aware not to eat those. The dish ate very dry. I was expecting a cheesy creamy cauliflower.. instead got a dry whole roasted cauliflower with dry cheese and breadcrumbs on top. We only ate 1/4 of this and my partner took the rest home along with half of half of his steak to be polite On a side note. They don't take Apple Pay. So be aware of that. So it comes down.. would we return to The Ranch? Nope. Don't see it happening. For the price point, I think we should get better overall food.

Their cuisine is a mix of Argentine and Italian. The restaurant is located at the end of a strip mall with plenty of parking available. Seating options include the patio in front which has heat lamps, a small bar area, and tables in the main dining room. You can make a reservation either on their website or by calling them on the phone. Our server greeted us promptly and brought out a generous serving of warm, fresh bread which was delicious. We ordered a few beef empanadas ($4 each) and a side of chimichurri ($2.50). They came out hot and were very flavorful. We also ordered the Scampi al Vino Bianco appetizer. The five jumbo shrimp were large, and the white wine garlic sauce was good. There was no question about what I was having for my entrée, the Medallon de Lomo, a grilled 10 ounce filet mignon (only $43!). It may not look like 10 ounces in the picture, but it is a thick cut, and was grilled to a perfect medium rare plus as requested. The steak was flavorful on its own, but it comes with its own side of chimichurri sauce which I love on steak. The vegetables were good and seemed fresh, not frozen. This was definitely the best deal I've come across for a 10 ounce filet mignon and a side. One of my friends had the Parrillada Mixta ($68) which is a large serving of various meats including skirt steak, flap meat, short rib, Argentine sausage, blood sausage, and sweetbread. It's served on a big cast iron platter with a flame underneath to keep it hot. It's an entrée for two, but he ate most of it on his own, although we did give him a little help. He said he would pass on the sweetbread next time, and substitute one of the sausages for more meat (extra charge). It also came with a large serving of roasted potatoes. Another friend had the Paella Mixta ($32). It was a good size with a mix of clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, vegetables, and rice. Our server Fred was very friendly and took great care of us. Their menu is large, I would definitely return to try other items or have another filet mignon. The only negative is that they close somewhat early at 8pm on Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday, so plan accordingly.

The interior of the restaurant is reminiscent of a wooden house/cabin. As for the food, the complimentary hot bread is very tasty, and we enjoyed the Ensalata Argentina also. We ordered the Parillada Mixta for two (comes with side choice of fries, roasted potatoes, salad, or sauteed vegetables and we chose vegetables), as well as the Risotto Don Juan de Marco. The parillada came with a substantial amount of meat kept warm on a grill, accompanied by a chimichurri. The short rib meat was a bit tough but still tasty. I felt like the risotto was good but not outstanding. We finished with a creme brulee for dessert and someone also ordered a coffee (cortadito). The meal was solid though came out to $150 after tax and tip.

I looked over at the host and waived! They didn't get my order correct. Luckily it was a simple fix... I just moved the beans and onions off my plate. My buddy's issue was different. He order the regular ribeye. The wait specifically asked if he wanted the bone-in or regular. He again said regular and added " no bone." He also stated he like it rare but not raw since his last few tries at other places were way undercooked. The steak came bone-in. We pointed this out and the waiter joked, and asked for the regular. He stated you get a significantly bigger steak now for the same price. That's 10 ozs for free. He cut in and the edges were cook rare, but the middle and especially along the bone was cold/raw. The offered to re-cook it, but everyone knows that just dries it out. He ate the edges and took the rest home to re-cook as leftovers. When the bill came, the waiter charged us for the bone-in! We had to ask for this to be corrected. I felt the food was very good and would have given the place a second chance, but when the manager came to ask us about our experience and we told him... he just froze and said that's too bad, I will have a talk with them. From the French Onion soup with bone marrow, the Mac and cheese shareable, to the garlic bread with pesto.. But the entrees and desserts SHINED! I had the scallops while the other two had the 8oz hanger steak. Both steaks were cooked to perfection (rare and medium well) and the scallops were so buttery soft they melted in your mouth. So if you're ever find yourself in Huntington Beach and want to up your food game, come to this little gem. It won't disappoint. Will definitely be back next time!
