We had a really good dining experience here for my wife's birthday celebration. My daughter, wife and I shared the spicy tuna crispy rice, Prime New York steak, grilled seabass and short rib fried rice. The spicy tuna was not what we were accustomed to but it was still tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly and came out really tasty especially with the chimichurri. The seabass with the Yuzu ginger broth was wetter than I like but still flavorful. I prefer a dry rub over fish which I find cleaner with higher quality fishes. Overall, we still enjoyed our meal and had some nice cocktails during our celebration.

Nice ambiance, very clean and organized as you walk in. Love that the place is dog friendly and has a doggie menu. Good food, good service, good time.

Pretty good contemporary American restaurant by the water in HB. With a nice place like this some dishes are priced on the higher end and some are fair. Nevertheless, great spot to impress a date or relatives. Food here is pretty great too. I'd recommend the lobster Mac n cheese. Their dinner roles are exceptional as well. Service here is pretty great and I'd recommend sitting outside at the patio. It's all well heated too.

Loved our brunch! Had the sampler tower, crispy tator tots and bloody Mary's and mimosas. Everything was PERFECT!!

My friend and I came for drinks and dinner, and even on a rainy night the ambiance was beautiful. The patio is a must, the ceiling-mounted heaters keep it warm without the usual clutter of heat lamps. We shared a bottle of wine, a soup for her, and a mushroom orecchiette for me. Unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked. Not al dente, just not cooked through. It was disappointing because the mushrooms and sauce were excellent, and they pour the sauce and soup in front of you which is a nice touch. It makes the dining experience feel more elevated. I rarely send dishes back, but this one wasn't edible. Our server, Shelby, was kind and professional and replaced it with the duck and goat cheese charcuterie at no charge. It was delicious, with generous portions. Despite the hiccup with the pasta, we had a lovely time and I'd happily return.

Had such a great dining experience at Lōrea inside Pasea Hotel & Spa! Let me start by saying the food was SO delicious overall. Now, for full honesty, the starters weren't the star of the show for me. We ordered the pork belly wraps and spicy pork gyoza. Both were cooked well, but in my opinion, they were missing that extra "something" maybe a dipping sauce or a bit more flavor to really elevate them. Next time, I'd probably skip those and try different appetizers. The service was great from start to finish attentive, friendly, and everything came out smoothly. The restaurant itself is super cute, and I loved both the indoor and outdoor seating options. We sat outside under the heaters, which made for such a cozy, perfect vibe. BUT the mains and sides? That's where they absolutely delivered. I had the Korean BBQ salmon and WOW flavor on flavor on flavor. Easily one of my favorites of the night. For the table, we shared lobster mac and cheese, asparagus, and whipped potatoes, and let me tell you... those sides were everything. The portions are generous (perfect for sharing with 4-6 people), the mac and cheese was rich and creamy, the asparagus was cooked perfectly, and the whipped potatoes? Smooth, fluffy, and packed with flavor, definitely a standout. We were originally hoping for the tomahawk steak, but they had run out (sad moment ). However, they made it right by offering a prime New York steak for two and honestly, no regrets because that steak was FIRE. Super flavorful, juicy, and absolutely mouthwatering. We also tried the Wagyu and sea bass, which were both delicious, but the real highlights for me were the steak and salmon. Drinks were also on point! We had an Old Fashioned, Moscow Mule, and a few lemon drops including blackberry, passionfruit, and watermelon. The blackberry lemon drop was hands down my favorite, so good! To top it all off, they brought out the cutest birthday macaroons! One tasted like Fruity Pebbles (so fun!) and the other was paired with whipped cream and raspberries such a sweet touch. Overall, while the appetizers didn't quite hit for me, the mains and sides absolutely carried the experience and are 100% the reason I'll be back. I'll definitely be returning for more steak and that Korean BBQ salmon!

The food was amazing! Loved how colorful and tasteful it was. Two locations one in Mexico City and another in Huntington Beach. I would love to come back and try more of their menu. Lovely restaurant and amazing drinks!!

Beautiful location Not too many vegan options though I had the beyond sausage - they seemed deep fried Also the potatoes. They were ok but could have been crispier and had more flavor The Balinese salad was ok too. There was a ginger taste to the dressing and it came with farro as well The server was really good I had the London fog as well and it was very good

It was our first time and finding parking was very difficult. We ended up parking at Pacific City and thankfully parking was free due to some special Anniversary. We had a 7 pm reservation, but at 7:20 pm, we were told there are two parties in front of us! That was disappointing, what's the point of a reservation? About 10 minutes later, we were seated because one of the party canceled. It is located in Pasea Hotel & Spa. The ambiance is great. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was delicious. I like the plating of each dish, so pretty; especially my Oshizushi. I love the toasted Nori on the side. My hubby enjoyed his fish. It was well flavored and no bones! We want to return in the daytime to enjoy the ocean view.

I ordered the poke, and while it tasted good, the portion was underwhelming. For the price, a few extra ounces wouldn't hurt. On the bright side, the martini was strong and well-made--great job by the bartender. Service, however, was a bit lacking. After food delivery, there was no follow-up. A quick check-in within a couple of minutes would have made a big difference in the overall experience. View was spectacular though!

Lorea offers a fantastic dining experience with its great ambiance and contemporary decorations, all while providing a beautiful ocean view. The dinner was amazing, and the service was exceptional. The cocktails were enjoyable as well. However, breakfast took a lengthy 45 minutes to arrive, and the birria burrito left me a bit disappointed as it was dry. The level of service during breakfast seemed to fall short compared to dinner. A special shoutout bartender, Chris who not only crafted excellent cocktails but also provided fantastic service when we came just for drinks in the afternoon. He also made the best Spiced Apple Sour cocktail during our breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend Lorea and the associated Pasea Hotel for a pleasant 5-star experience.

This restaurant is located inside Paseo Hotel & Spa (which also features Treehouse rooftop bar overlooking the beach). Ambience - As many other reviews mentioned, this was spot on. Many angles/seatings of this resturant (more outdoor than indoor of course) directly look out into the beach and when we had our dinner at 7pm sunset time the view was stunning, palm trees ocean against backdrop of a orange purple red Patagonia-logo sunset made us paused here and there during our meal to just enjoy the view. Restaurant itself is clean, modern, and very spaceous. Food - We ordered kale salad (refreshing balanced out our meat dishes, slightly saucier than expected), duck/goat chacutterie (great visual and great taste), prime steak frittes (medium rare felt a bit more like medium but still delicious), whole market fish (seabass that day with squash and lemon, tasty and filling) and the infamous parker house rolls (HEAVEN w/ beewax butter edible candle dip). I see previous reviews complained about food being bland, but our meal was tasty so I'd chart it off under they're implementing long term improvements or it's just reviewers' own subjective differences. Service - Professional and friendly service, our server Erica always greeted us with a smile and randomly checked in on us as we dined to see if we were doing okay. Very attentive water refill frequency, when our server was busy other servers were helpful in stepping in (unlike some other places where they may have you wait for your server, understandable no harm no foul but this way just feels more collaborative and supportive). In the beginning we did wait a little for the host to appear on a not full house evening, but based on the behaviors we observed it felt more like they were all very busy and might be understaffed for the day, and not idling or negligent so we didn't mind it too much. As a bonus we went upstairs to Treehouse rooftop bar after for some drinks and the lantern rustic decor went very well with the sunset beach view! Parking - Valet parking since it's in a hotel, quick hard working young staff, attentive and polite. p.s. bring a light jacket if sitting outdoor during dinner time, the beach breeze can be a bit chilly!

Too bad it a great dish. So we were torn between the crab fritters or calamari. Both are excellent. We started with the crab fritters (forgot the picture). They are very good and the apple slaw is refreshing For our mains, my wife had the lobster burrito. Good size, good price, great taste. She took half home I had the lobster omelette. I subbed out the potato (medical reasons limit carbs) for a side salad (2 dollar up charge). Omelette is full of lobster and very filling. Only complaints don't take away from the great food and friendly service. I wish they would still have the collar on Sundays, but it is a limited product and it is the end of the week. Once the weather gets cold I would love coffee with brunch (boozy or not) We will continue to drive an hour for Calico

Why ask if there is a special celebration if it isnt recognized at all? The inside has no AC... or it wasn't working if they did. I would have sat outside had I known... We were sat immediately and drink orders taken but then it took a while for them to arrive. Then my husband and son ordered half a dozen oysters and our server disappeared for a good 30 minutes. Oysters came and were eaten and he still had not come back to get our dinner order. My other 3 kids were very hungry and asked when the food was coming and I had to explain we hadnt ordered the food yet. We got 2 lobster boils, one shell cracked, one non cracked, halibut, scallops with asparagus, jr bacon cheeseburger and grilled cheese. My lobster lacked flavor..usually it is served with butter that is salted and lemon. The butter almost was magarine.. not actual butter..and no lemon. The bread wasnt buttered either. For $56, I expect more. The jr bacon cheeseburger also lacked flavor. I am not sure they seasoned the meat... the grilled cheese was good but the side of tomato dipping sauce was cold.. The halibut was absolutely delicious as were the scallops. I was eating my son's leftover asparagus when the server came and took the plate away... apparently I wasn't supposed to finish his food. I got the blackberry lemonade cocktail and the alcohol content was weak. I'm Asian and lack the enzyme that processes alcohol (look up Asian glow or Asian red face when drinking alcohol)... and normally cannot finish a cocktail because of that.... and this is was able to down with no issues. Overall, with the reviews I expected much more. We are visiting from AZ and have better lobster there... which is ridiculous since this restaurant is right next to the ocean and AZ clearly is not.

Or maybe they like the cuisine, but for health reasons they've been told to avoid eating it. I know for me I just haven't come around to a lot of Asian cuisines that are focused on high vegetable and low protein content. But to this day Toby and I have never shared a seafood boil together. She has a germaphobe reaction to eating food with her hands and there's no easy way to knife-and-fork stuff like shrimp, crawfish, crab, or lobster. She's offered to get something else like fish n' chips or a plain steak or something, while I get myself a boil. However, one of the joys of boils is digging into a mound of Cajun-flavored seafood together as a group effort. A wondrous temple to the art like Roux Seafood Kitchen would be wasted on her. I couldn't get enough of their shrimp and crawfish. They were both plump, flavorful, and disassembled easy in my hands. At a lb. each, I was more than stuffed at meal's end. I think the only thing that could've made it better is if I had ordered a lobster tail in there. That would've been my ideal order. The service was great here for my party. The drinks were refilled quickly, the food was brought out in an efficient manner, and even the order taking was controlled in what kind of have been haphazard conditions. I liked the ambiance too. The dining room was a spacious and accommodating. The music was low. And the crowds were busy but not super full, which is where I like it. Nobody was on top of each other at neighboring tables and the noise level wasn't drowning. All in all, I think this is the perfect example of a seafood boil joint. Clam Pot (8/10): Packed with crab meat and served in a flavorful broth that's perfect for dipping bread. The sausage was a bit on the salty side, though. Wedge Salad (9/10): Spot on. Crisp, fresh, and full of flavor. Fresh Cod (9/10): Juicy, tender, succulent, and amazingly flavorful. This would easily be a 10/10, but the curry rice pairing didn't quite work with the fish. Huge props to Carlos for recommending it, though! Service (10/10): Carlos was absolute royalty. He juggled 10 (!) tables all by himself, yet he still made sure we had everything we needed for a great meal. Bottom Line: An 8/10 experience overall. Dropping to 4 stars purely because of the understaffing--if management gets just one more person on floor duty, this place would be epic. Recommended. I'll be back.
