We stayed at the Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel for 3 nights. We ate breakfast each morning on the patio looking towards the beach. What a great view for breakfast. We had the pleasure of 4 different staff members who took great care of us (one visit was for a snack and a couple of cold beverages). Each meal was amazing. We tried a few things but went back to the breakfast tacos on our last day. Outstanding food and service, thank you.

The parking setup was convenient with underground parking, and the restaurant is able to validate your parking as well. There's also an elevator that brings you directly to the front of the restaurant, which is connected to a hotel. The decor had a really nice beachy aesthetic, and there were even some views of the ocean. It's also located about a 10-minute walk from the pier, which made the area feel fun and relaxing. The service throughout the meal was friendly, and the food overall was good with a nice variety of options for the table. At the end of the meal, we were also given a complimentary dessert that was specially designed by the pastry chef. Unfortunately, she wasn't there at the time, so we weren't able to ask exactly what was in it, but the server mentioned it was made with toffee. Overall, it was a nice spot for a celebration with good food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere near the beach. Looking forward to coming back again and maybe giving their dinner menu a try next time.
Had the pleasure of attending a Yelp event here, and was throughly impressed with the food, drinks, service and ambiance - so I decided to return! It happened to be restaurant week so there were items that were not on the regular menu yet. Shrimp & Crab Claw Scampi (5/5) - Plump shrimp, crab claw, all married in a white wine butter cream sauce. It was so delicious! I cleared my dish without hesitation. White Fish Piccata (5/5) - The fish tasted fresh! The sauce was almost similar to the scampi, but lighter. Hangar Steak & Ravioli (5/5) - The steak was cooked a perfectly medium rare! The truffle butter sauce really tied everything together. I would 100% order this again! Hummingbird Cake (4/5) - Tasted similar to a carrot cake. The cake felt a little too rich for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Their drinks are always on point! I had their mango margarita and it was so refreshing. Overall, I would come back to enjoy the views, live music, and delicious food!
Was craving some type of lettuce wrap, and came here. I got the Lao wraps, and my boyfriend got the hideaway burger. For the wraps, I was hoping for more fresh ingredients, but it ended up being a heavier dish due to the sheer amount of rice. Would've loved more sausage and fresh greens. Burger was average, with the pickles being the best thing on the burger. Fries were good. Semi view of beach, if you sit outside, but connected to the kimpton. Most likely won't be back.
This was the best way to end my week and start my weekend. My parents and I visited on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy, which we loved. We came right around sunset so the weather and views were stunning. We decided to dine inside and the coastal interior decor and beach ambiance of the place were very well done. We ordered the guacamole, tuna tartare, and buttermilk fried chicken bao bun. They're most known for the latter but the bun itself didn't cut it for me, although the sauce and chicken on it were good. My favorite of the three was the tuna tartare which surprised me because of how fresh the fish was. I didn't have high expectations for the hideaway burger but I ended up enjoying it so much that I finished the whole thing. The burger was flavorful and it even had a really thick slice of yellow tomato which I thought was pineapple at first. They have a myriad of cocktails to choose from but the OC socialite is a must if that's up your alley. The service was great and they checked up on us often so we felt taken care of and comfortable.

This time I got the blackened mahi mahi tacos with a side of fruit. They give you the option of berries or melon, and I went with berries. Everything was delicious! First, we walked in to a cozy place and they iffered us a table...The table was shaking due to uneven surface. The host tried to fix it but it didnt work. She didnt offer us a new table, i was the one who asked. The other thing that it was lil bit off, when they brought the water they didn't put inside if me it was lil bit far away from where i sit...For fixing table they were using same coaster that they were putting in table for our glasses! This is what we ordered: * Shrimp Cocktails -- $18.00 * Ceviche -- $23.00 * HH Beer -- $7.00 Subtotal: $48.00 Tax: $3.72 Total: $51.72 Pricewas for what we got it was lil bit high...Te shrimp cocktail was ok but the shrimp was too frozen! It didnt looklike a fresh one. There is parking downstairs and dont forget to validate your ticket in restaurant! first 2 hours but after that there is a charge for every twenty minute so be cautious!

Pacific Hideaway is the restaurant connected to The Kimpton in Newport Beach. It is upstairs and has a great view of the beach on their patio. We came on a Wednesday evening around 6pm and I was surprised that they even had a DJ outside too. The inside decor is very bright and inviting. I love the mural and all the fun details - like the booths that look like swings. Super cool! Our group came here because we saw zero proof mocktails on their menu and were excited. They use Seedlip non-alcoholic spirits and I loved it. I got the passion fruit mockarita and it was so refreshing (but a little on the sour side). All of the food was absolutely amazing. I loved the buratta and tomato appetizer, but I wish it had a bit more bread. Their menu is mainly meat and fish, and as a Vegetarian, I'd love to see some more innovative options that don't include meat. Maybe some tempeh tacos, or even jackfruit. Also, for the mocktails, they were pretty expensive. Typically I expect paying about 1/2 or even a 1/3 of what a real alcoholic beverage costs. Ultimately Pacific Hideaway was great food, drinks, service and views! Highly recommend!
Your staff can make or break! I'm so happy to say every time we've come here your staff has been so nice! Victor goes out of his way to make our experience great! Always friendly and helpful! The food, delicious! My husband enjoys his breakfast burrito and I love my Chilaquiles! Today we added a side of bacon cooked perfectly and had a nice surprise of the French toast! The French toast was amazing! Perfectly crisp and the fresh berries! We always enjoy coming tot his restaurant! Great vibes! Cute setting! Beach vibes! Thank you and please keep up the amazing work! Hats off to Paul, for drinks if you go during Happy Hour time! The music is always a hit! Definitely a great place to be! Breakfast, lunch or Drinks!

Nice place for brunch. It's attached to a hotel and there is a nice bar and patio overlooking the beach. We sat in the patio and ordered a cappuccino and Eggs Benedict. Everything on the menu is good. We will definitely be back to try the other food options. Happy Yelping! read more

We were looking for a spot with ocean view, kid friendly, dog friendly and good food and Pacific Hideaway went above and beyond checking all our boxes! They were so welcoming and accommodated us right away! The patio was so beautiful with an awesome view and plenty of umbrellas. They had crayons and coloring sheets for the kids and even a treat for our doggy! Our waiter was super sweet and attentive. Our food was also delicious including the kids pancake! I had the egg and ham bagel and it was so good! The bagel tasted homemade and had actual pieces of jalapeños throughout, making it so tasty, it was really thick and cheesy too! They did not scrimp on the egg either, it was jam packed and very flavorful and satisfying. My mom had the ceviche and it came served in a coconut! She said it was delicious and she enjoyed the whole thing! The kids pancakes came with fresh fruit and were perfectly golden and fluffy. Our only complaint was service was a bit slow. Our food took a long while to come out, as well as our bill and then the change for the bill. The kids were really excited to get to the beach so the started to get a bit antsy with all the waiting but it looks like our server also had a large group to attend to so we will definitely come back! The vibe was perfect for a laid-back catch-up brunch with friends. Such a stylish, coastal decor with open-air seating and ocean breeze, so nice and relaxing. Our server was incredibly friendly and cool, making the whole experience even better with great recommendations and attentive service. The chimichurri for the steak & eggs was delicious. One of my friends got the chilaquiles which was room temp and soggy which may be because it took about 40 minutes for us to get our food for our party of 6. Coffee was mid (kind of tasted a bit burnt). The decor and the vibes of the restaurant were very cool though. Finally trying this place after girlfriend's have raved about it and Wow!! Definitely didn't disappoint I'm going to be craving these tacos for days. Such a cute spot with a nice view ocean breeze and patio umbrellas. Our server was so nice and funny he steered me in the right direction with what to order. We started with a bottle of champagne and juices on the side for mimosas for lunch. I had the Short rib tacos and talk about flavorful they had the perfect amount of flavor and the tortillas held up well with the meat and juices which was a plus. Short rib tacos are a must when ordering definitely recommend!!! read more

Had a reservation for 5:30pm on a Friday evening...table was ready early. Hostess was amazingly friendly, waitress was also very friendly and seemed happy to be there. We sat outside with a view to the ocean, exactly what we wanted. A DJ started at 6pm with excellent tunes and not too loud so we could still talk. We started with house made chips and guac which was fresh and beautiful and delicious. I had the short rib grilled cheese w sweet potato fries that had a massive amount of meat and my wife had shrimp pasta that she loved. Maverick had grilled chicken and rice that came out nice and hot for him. The entire place was open air and just had the perfect vibe where could be casual but could also come for a nice classy dinner date. Pricing exactly on par for what you would expect from a nice ocean view restaurant. Would definitely return. read more

A few years after my initial visit, I returned to Pacific Hideaway. The food was as good as I remembered, and this time I tried another Mexican comfort food--Grandma's Chilaquiles. The ingredients were fresh and tasted so good together. The tortilla chips were both crunchy and soaked with the bean sauce and egg yolk. I am hungry all over again as I write this review. They were less attentive to my dog this time. A server asked about a water bowl for my dog, but never brought it to her. Nevertheless, it's still a great place to have brunch after frolicking at the dog beach across the street. read more
What a beautiful drive to get here... The day was sunny and bright. There was plenty of parking on the street as well as the parking lot. The menu... I ordered... HASH BENNY - yummy but slightly under seasoned SHORT RIB GRILLED CHEESE - good but also under seasoned. MAHI MAHI TACOS - tasty but again slightly under seasoned. My friend and I ordered everything to split. The presentation was really pretty. BLOODY Mary's were delicious. My dog BuddyG got the burger and rice. The service was very fast The ambience is very casual. We sat on the veranda looking out to the coast. It's a nice place. I would return to taste other menu items. Looking for a bomb brunch spot with a cool vibe and ocean view? Look no further! Pacific Hideaway is located in one of the coolest hotels in the area: the Kimpton Shorebreak. They offer bottomless mimosas for $25pp. The staff is pretty attentive and the food is fantastic! We got the breakfast burrito and grandma's chilaquiles.. both were delish! The chilaquiles had a little kick to them which was a fantastic. The burrito also came with some kind of magic sauce on the side that I really enjoyed! Overall, we left fatter and happier! P.S. they are dog friendly! Nothing beats that! read more
